  • As internet expands, the possibility of attack through the network is increasing. So we need the technology which can detect the attack to the system or the network spontaneously. The purpose of this paper proposes the system to detect intrusion automatically using the Adaptive Resonance Theory2(ART2) which is one of artificial neural network The parameters of the system was tunned by ART2 algorithm using a lot of normal packets and various attack packets which were intentionally generated by attack tools. The results were compared and analyzed with conventional methods.

  • In this paper, we propose a new adaptive intrusion detection algorithm based on clustering: Kernel-ART, which is composed of the on-line clustering algorithm, ART (adaptive resonance theory), combining with mercer-kernel and concept vector. Kernel-ART is not only satisfying all desirable characteristics in the context of clustering-based IDS but also alleviating drawbacks associated with the supervised learning IDS. It is able to detect various types of intrusions in real-time by means of generating clusters incrementally.

  • A new method for recognizing and locating partially occluded or overlapped two-dimensional objects regardless of their size, translation, and rotation, is presented. Dominant points approximating occuluding contoures of objects are generated by finding local maxima of smoothed k-cosine function, and then used to guide the contour segment matching procedure. Primitives between the dominant points are produced by projecting the local contours onto the line between the dominant points. Robust classification of primitives. Which is crucial for reliable partial shape matching, is performed using adaptive resonance theory (ART2). The matched primitives having similar scale factors and rotation angles are detected in the hough space to identify the presence of the given model in the object scene. Finally the translation vector is estimated by minimizing the mean squred error of the matched contur segment pairs. This model-based matching algorithm may be used in diveerse factory automation applications since models can be added or changed simply by training ART2 adaptively without modifying the matching algorithm.

  • ART (Adaptive Resonance Theory [1]) neural network and its variations perform non-hierarchical clustering by unsupervised learning. We propose a scheme "arboART" for hierarchical clustering by using several ART1.5-SSS networks. It classifies multidimensional vectors as a cluster tree, and finds features of clusters. The Basic idea of arboART is to use the prototype formed in an ART network as an input to other ART network that has looser distance criteria (Ishihara, et al., [2,3]). By sending prototype vectors made by ART to one after another, many small categories are combined into larger and more generalized categories. We can draw a dendrogram using classification records of sample and categories. We have confirmed its ability using standard test data commonly used in pattern recognition community. The clustering result is better than traditional computing methods, on separation of outliers, smaller error (diameter) of clusters and causes no chaining. This methodology is applied to Kansei evaluation experiment data analysis.

  • Adaptive resonance theory (ART2) characterized by its built-in mechanism of handling the stability-plasticity switching and by the adaptive learning without forgetting informations learned in the past, is based on an unsupervised template matching. We propose an improved tow-stage learning algorithm for aRT2: the original unsupervised learning followed by a new supervised learning. Each of the output nodes, after the unsupervised learning, is labeled according to the category informations to reinforce the template pattern associated with the target output node belonging to the same category some dominant classes from exhausting a finite number of template patterns in ART2 inefficiently. Experimental results on a set of 2545 FLIR images show that the ART2 trained by the two-stage learning algorithm yields better accuracy than the original ART2, regardless of th esize of the network and the methods of evaluating the accuracy. This improvement shows the effectiveness of the two-stage learning process.

  • In many control system applications, the system designed must not only satisfy the damping and accuracy specifications, but the control must also yield performance that is robust to external disturbance and parameter variations. We have shown that feedback in conventional control systems has the inherent ability of reducing the effects of external disturbance and parameter variations. Unfortunately, robustness with the conventional feedback configuration is achieved only with a high loop gain, which is normally detrimental to stability. The design of intelligent, autonomous machines to perform tasks that are dull, repetitive, hazardous, or that require skill, strength, or dexterity beyond the capability of humans is the ultimate goal of robotics research. This paper prove the robust control using Analog Adaptive Resonance Theorv(ART2) Algorithm about case study.

  • As it is the most important to make sure security and reliability for nuclear Power Plant, it's considered the most crucial issues to develop a fault detective and diagnostic system in spite of multiple hardware redundancy in itself. To develop an algorithm for a fault diagnosis in the nuclear PWR steam generator, this paper proposes a method based on ART2(adaptive resonance theory 2) neural network that senses and classifies troubles occurred in the system. The fault diagnosis system consists of fault detective part to sense occurred troubles, parameter estimation part to identify changed system parameters and fault classification part to understand types of troubles occurred. The fault classification part Is composed of a fault classifier that uses ART2 neural network. The Performance of the proposed fault diagnosis a18orithm was corroborated by applying in the steam generator.

  • In this paper, we propose a new mART(modified ART) neural network by combining the winner neuron definition method of SOM(self-organizing map) and the real-time adaptive clustering function of ART(adaptive resonance theory) and construct it in a modular structure, for the purpose of organizing the feature maps of three dimensional targets. Being constructed in a modular structure, the proposed modular mART can effectively prevent the clusters from representing multiple classes and can be trained to organze two dimensional distortion invariant feature maps so as to recognize targets with three dimensional distortion. We also present the recognition result and self-organization perfdormance of the proposed modular mART neural network after carried out some experiments with 14 tank and fighter target models.
