(중요도-성취도)분석에 의한 청소년수련시설 운영실태 조사연구 (A Research on the Youth Facilities Management with Importance-Performance Analysis)

  • This research is a preliminary study to improve the criteria of youth facilities which regulated in Youth Fundamental Act, with the method of Importance-Performance Analysis on youth facilities management. Evaluation inquiry had been made, and were collected from the youth facility managers who attended The Korean Youth Facility Managers' Seminar held on 24th Nov. 1994 at Pakdaljae Youth Center. The results are as follows; 1. Keep Up the Good Work : indoor facilities in community area, and outdoor facilities and accommodations in natural area are resulted in high in Importance and. Performance. They need to be operated constantly. 2. Concentrate Here : Counselling room, hobby room and outdoor meeting places in community area, and care room in natural area are perceived high in Importance but low in Performance. They need to provide proper leaders and equipment. 3. Low Priority : Care room, forest and outdoor facilities in community area, arid forest and folk playground in natural area are low in both Importance and Performance. So, it is considered that they are not necessary ones in both areas, but some outdoor facilities are so essential in natural area that they need to be provided properly. 4 Possible Overkill : Courtyard and library in community area, and outdoor facilities in natural area are low in Importance but high in Performance. They need to improve their importance through the development of applicable activity programs.

의학교육 소모에 대한 통계학적 조사 연구 (A Statistical Study of Medical Educational Wastage)

  • 의학교육에 있어서의 소모성을 파악할 목적으로 $1973{\sim}1982$학년도 동안 모 국립대학교 의과대학에 입학한 의과대학생을 대상으로 의학교육 소모의 수량적 파악을 시도하였기에 그 결과를 보고하는 바이다. 1. 조사시점에 있어서의 평균 정규 진급율은 83.4%였고 Cohort 전원이 졸업 (탈락 포함)한 Cohort $I{\sim}V$의 평균 진급율은 77.2%였다. 2. 10개 전 Cohort의 학년별 평균 유급율은 1학년 과정 15.5%, 2학년 5.4%로 1,2학년은 진급의 벽이 높으며 3학년 과정 1.4%, 4학년 0.6%로 3,4학년은 안정되어 있었다. 3. 재학생의 졸업시 예측 유급자 수는 1학년 31.6명이었고 2, 3, 4학년은 이미 출현한 유급자를 포함하여 28.9, 18.6, 22.7명이었다. 4. 10개 전 Cohort의 총 wastage는 244.8 SY로 56.2명 (년 5.62명)의 학생을 육성하여 정규 졸업시키는 교육자원량에 해당하였다. 5. 10개 전 Cohort의 평균 단위 경비는 4.26, 평균 입력 출력비는 1.06이었다.

Medicinal Plant Lemon Grass (Cymbopogon Citratus) Growth under Salinity and Sodicity

  • Salinity with sodic condition disturbs germination, retards emergence, and slow down seedling development of Lemon Grass (Cymbopogon citratus).Lemongrass is a perennial grass plant widely distributed worldwide and most especially in tropical and subtropical countries. This research experiment was designed to evaluate the influences of (4 dSm-1+ 13.5 (mmol L-1)-1/2, 5 dSm-1+ 25 (mmol L-1)1/2, 5 dSm-1+ 30 (mmol L-1)1/2, 10 dSm-1+ 25 (mmol L-1)1/2 and 10 dSm-1+ 30 (mmol L-1)1/2) on biomass produce of lemon grass against salt tolerance. The uppermost biomass yield (45.53 gpot-1) was produced by 4 dSm-1+ 13.5 (mmol L-1)1/2 treatment. The increase in the intensity of salts reduced the growth of lemon grass. Lower biomass yield (79.33 gpot-1) was gained at 10 dSm-1+ 30 (mmol L-1)1/2. 5 dSm-1+ 25 (mmol L-1)1/2 treatment performed enhanced outcome i.e. the least reduction % over control (5.87). Salinity- sodicity showed serious effect on the growth reduction from 5.87% to33.60%. This reduction gap was affected by the negative effect of salinity and sodicity on Linseed growth. Salinity- sodicity showed severe impact on the growth reduction from 5.87% to33.60%. Based on the findings, lemon Grass (Cymbopogon citratus).was capable to grow up the maximum at 4 dSm-1+ 13.5 (mmol L-1)1/2 treatment.

Effectiveness of cephalosporins in hydrolysis and inhibition of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli biofilms

  • Importance: Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli contribute to global health challenges by forming biofilms, a key virulence element implicated in the pathogenesis of several infections. Objective: The study examined the efficacy of various generations of cephalosporins against biofilms developed by pathogenic S. aureus and E. coli. Methods: The development of biofilms by both bacteria was assessed using petri-plate and microplate methods. Biofilm hydrolysis and inhibition were tested using first to fourth generations of cephalosporins, and the effects were analyzed by crystal violet staining and phase contrast microscopy. Results: Both bacterial strains exhibited well-developed biofilms in petri-plate and microplate assays. Cefradine (first generation) showed 76.78% hydrolysis of S. aureus biofilm, while significant hydrolysis (59.86%) of E. coli biofilm was observed by cefipime (fourth generation). Similarly, cefuroxime, cefadroxil, cefepime, and cefradine caused 78.8%, 71.63%, 70.63%, and 70.51% inhibition of the S. aureus biofilms, respectively. In the case of E. coli, maximum biofilm inhibition (66.47%) was again shown by cefepime. All generations of cephalosporins were more effective against S. aureus than E. coli, which was confirmed by phase contrast microscopy. Conclusions and Relevance: Cephalosporins exhibit dual capabilities of hydrolyzing and inhibiting S. aureus and E. coli biofilms. First-generation cephalosporins exhibited the highest inhibitory activity against S. aureus, while the third and fourth generations significantly inhibited E. coli biofilms. This study highlights the importance of tailored antibiotic strategies based on the biofilm characteristics of specific bacterial strains.

시각탐색에서 표적 유형과 망막 이심율 효과 (Effects of target types and retinal eccentricity on visual search)

  • 정지/운동하는 배경자극들 속에서 정지/운동하는 표적을 탐지하는 데 있어서 표적 유형과 망막 이심율의 효과를 알아보기 위해서 두 가지 실험을 수행하였다. 두 실험 모두 시각탐색과제를 사용하였다. 망막 이심율은 1.6$^{\circ}$ 단위로 커지는 5개의 동심원으로 구분하였으며, 표적은 배경자극과 방위차원에서 차이나는 방위 표적과 세부특정에서 차이나는 세부특정 표적이었다. 실험 l에서는 표적과 배경자극이 모두 정지되어있는 상황에서의 탐색을 다루었다. 그 결과 표적 유형과 망막 이심율 사이에 상호작용이 있었다. 정지상황에서 방위 표적은 망막 이심율의 영향을 별로 받지 않는 반면에, 세부특정 표적은 망막 이율이 증가함에 따라서 탐지시간이 일관성 있게 증가하였다. 표적과 배경자극이 모두 운동하는 상황인 실험 2 에서도 둘 사이의 상호작용이 나타냈으나, 그 이유는 실험 1과 극적인 대조를 이루었다. 즉, 운 동 상황에서 방위 표적은 망막 이심율이 증가함에 따라서 탐지시간이 일관성 있게 감소하는 반면, 세부 특징 표적은 망막 이심율의 영향을 거의 받지 않았다. 두 실험의 결과를 항공기나 자동차의 운동과 같은 현실상황과 관련된 합의와 문제점 그리고 향후 연구방향을 논의하였다.

가톨릭 교회를 중심으로 한 한국에서의 자연가족계획 방법 수용 및 사용효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Family Planning Program of The Korean Catholic Church Its Acceptability's, and Effctivenes)

  • The natural growth rate of the Korean population has decreased from 3.0% in 1960 to 1.0% in 1990. This was done with family planning program which was introduced by the government in 1961. The family planning program focused on birth control rather than the characteristics of the individuals and motivations of contraception. People were simply forced to use the method. Whereas, Natural Contraceptive is a method of family planning based solely on the timing of intercourse with the naturally occurring' physiological manifestation of fertilization and in fertilization during the menstrual cycle. This is the combination of self fertility awareness with periodic abstinence. Natural family .planning(NFP) programs in Korea were first started in the Chun-Chen diocese of catholic church by Bishop Thomas Stewart in 1970 In 1975, the Bishops conference launched the Korea Happy Family Movement in the Catholic Hospital Association, to promote the natural family planning. An average of 70,000 people, including adolescents, college students, unmarried and married persons, arid the clergies were trained during a six-year period (1986-1991). 61.5%(24,542 people) of those who completed 3 cycles during 6 year period (1986-1991) became autonomous users and the range was from 48.1% to 78.2%. In 1986, 22.7% of NFP individuals who drooped out of the program because of the desire for conception (23.4%), the difficulty of the method used(25.8%), and the loss of interest(22.8%). During the six-year period the unplanned pregnancy rate at the NFP was 2.9%. The range of the pregnancy rate was at 1.2-9.8%. The rate was decreased as years passed. The major reason for the failure of contraceptive was error by the individuals(61.1%). The percentage of the success of conception was 18.1% of 2.979 for achieving pregnancy. The highest percentage was 58.2% (99 users) in Kwang-Joo diocese and next was 37.1% (10 users) in Chong Joo diocese.

  • 일련의 새로운 N-[1-(benzotriazol-1-yl)-X-치환-aryl]-Y-치환-arylamine 유도체를 합성하고 Pyricularia oryzae, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. sesami, Valsa ceratosperma 및 Botrytis cinerea에 대한 항균활성$(pI_{50})$을 한천 희석법으로 측정하여 정량적인 구조-활성 관계$(QSAR_S)$를 분석한 바, X 및 Y-치환기들의 ${\pi}$${\sigma}$$M_R$ 파라미터가 항균 활성을 결정하는 중요한 요소이었다. 4-bromo 치환체(1d 및 2b)가 항균활성이 제일 큰 화합물이었으며, 중성 pH에서 1의 가수분해 반응에 대한 반감기$(T_{1/2})$는 약 1.5일 이었다. 기질 화합물의 분자궤도(MO) 함수와 항균 반응에 대한 자유에너지 관계$(LFER_S)$ 그리고 분자 설계의 결과들이 검토되었다.

The Use of Herbage N-alkanes as Markers to Estimate the Diet Composition of Yaks on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau

  • The chemical components in plant cuticular wax can be used as markers to estimate the species composition of the diet of grazing animals. In this experiment, composition of the diet of yak on the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau was estimated using n-alkane analysis. During the grazing period, samples of whole plants of the species present, plus fecal samples voided by the yak, were collected, air-dried and ground prior to the extraction of cuticular wax n-alkanes. The species composition of the yak diets was estimated by relating fecal alkane contents to those of the plant species, using the 'ATWHAT'software package. The results showed that the n-alkane technique can detect the main dietary components selected by yak. The diet consumed by yak contained 33% Kobresia humilis, 67% Stipa aliena in summer pasture; 26% Potentilla anserine, 74% Carex qinghaiensis in autumn pasture; 52% Carex qinghaiensis, 32% Heteropappus bowerii and 16% Saussurea semifasciata in winter pasture and 5% Carex qinghaiensis, 95% Achnatherum splendens in spring pasture. The apparent selection for forbs is likely to be a reason for nutritional constraint of yak inhabiting alpine environments.

판막상부 대동맥 협착증의 수술요법 (Surgical Treatment of the Supravalvular Aortic Stenosis)

  • Supravavular aortic stenosis is a congenital narrowing of the ascending aorta just distal to the level of the origins of the coronary arteries, that may be localized or diffuse. Five patients with supravalvular aortic stenosis were operated upon between July, 1986 arid June, 1990. Four of these patients were William`s syndrome [mental retardation, elfin face], and one was isolated supravalvular aortic stenosis. Preoperative diagnosis of the supravalvular aortic stenosis was made by left side cardiac catheterization and angiocardiography. There are three types of supravalvular aortic stenosis such as membranous, hourglass and hypoplastic. Four of our patients were of hourglass type, and one was hypoplastic type. Patch aortoplasty was performed in all cases. Preoperative systolic gradients ranged from 45 to 1SO mmHg [average 102.6 mmHg]: postoperative gradients ranged from 0 to 75 mmHg [average 39 mmHg]. The patient of hypoplastic type has been suffered from mild exercise intolerance even after the operation, and the postoperative echocardiography revealed the systolic gradient of 100 mmHg [preoperative 180 mmHg]. The results of surgery for hourglass type were excellent. But the patient with hypoplastic form would be benefited from some modifications of the operation.

The Use of Phonetics in the Analysis of the Acquisition of Second Language Syntax

  • Among the scholars of second language (L2) acquisition who have used prosodic considerations in syntactic analyses, pausing and intonation contours have been used to define utterances in the speech of second language learners (e.g., Sato, 1990). In recent research on conversational analysis, it has been found that lexically marked causal clause combining in the discourse of native speakers can be distinguished as "intonational subordination" and "intonational coordination(Couper-Kuhlen, Elizabeth, forthcoming.)". This study uses Pienemann's Processability Theory (1995) for an analysis of the speech of native speakers of Japanese (L1) learning English. In order to accurately assess the psycholinguistic stages of syntactic development, it is shown that pitch, loudness, and timing must all be considered together with the syntactic analysis of interlanguage speech production. Twelve Japanese subjects participated in eight fifteen minute interviews, ninety-six dyads. The speech analyzed in this report is limited to the twelve subjects interacting with two different non-native speaker interviews for a total of twenty-four dyads. Within each of the interviews, four different tasks are analyzed to determine the stage of acquisition of English for each subject. Initially the speech is segmented according to intonation contour arid pauses. It is then classified accoding to specific syntactic units and further analysed for pitch, loudness and timing. Results indicate that the speech must be first claasified prosodic ally and lexically, prior to beginning syntactic analysis. This analysis stinguishes three interlanguage lexical categories: discourse markers, coordinator $s_ordinators, and transfer from Japanese. After these lexical categories have been determined, the psycholinguistic stages of syntactic development can be more accurately assessed.d.
