  • In this paper, we implemented practical application service using VoiceXML. Developers can utilize the advantages of using VoiceXML such as reducing development time and sharing contents between applications. Up to now, speech related services were developed using APIs and programming languages such as C/C++ or exclusive developing tools, which methods depend on system architectures. For this reasons, reuse of contents and resources was very difficult. If developers want to change scenarios of the application services or change platforms, they have to edit and recompile their program sources. To solve these problems, nowadays, companies develop their applications using VoiceXML. But, there's poor grip of actual problems can be occurred when they use VoiceXML. To overcome these problems, we implemented stock trading system using VoiceXML. We found out problems which occurred during developing services. We proposed solutions to these problems And, we analyzed strong points and weak points of applications using suggested system.

  • Entering the post genome era with an increasing amount of protein data available in public databases, the study of tertiary structure of pro-teins has been artively in progress. To analyze the structure of a protein effectively, it is necessary to visualize the tertiary structure of a protein. Rececntly, many visualization tools based on Java technology have been developed to visualize a protein whose structure has been known. In this paper, we describe a new protein visualization system, named JProtein. It is designed to be an easy-to-use, platform neutral melocular visualization tool. The JProtein system is developed using Java3D technology. Java3D is an API providing a programming interface for 3D representations. The system informs us the angle and the distance of the interacting atoms in amino acids which are visualized, providing several 3D representation models of a protein molecule. In particular, the JProtein system presents synchronous stereo view as well as asynchronous one.

Hybrid Monitoring Scheme for End-to-End Performance Enhancement of Real-time Media Transport (실시간 미디어 전송의 종단간 성능 향상을 위한 혼성 모니터링 기법)

  • As real-time media applications based on IP multicast networks spread widely, the end-to-end QoS (quality of service) provisioning for these applications have become very important. To guarantee the end-to-end QoS of multi-party media applications, it is essential to monitor the time-varying status of both network metrics (i.e., delay, jitter and loss) and system metrics (i.e., CPU and memory utilization). In this paper, targeting the multicast-enabled AG (Access Grid) group collaboration tool based on multi-Party real-time media services, a hybrid monitoring scheme that can monitor the status of both multicast network and node system is investigated. It combines active monitoring and passive monitoring approaches to measure multicast network. The active monitoring measures network-layer metrics (i.e., network condition) with probe packets while the passive monitoring checks application-layer metrics (i.e., user traffic condition by analyzing RTCP packets). In addition, it measures node system metrics from system API. By comparing these hybrid results, we attempt to pinpoint the causes of performance degradation and explore corresponding reactions to improve the end-to-end performance. The experimental results show that the proposed hybrid monitoring can provide useful information to coordinate the performance improvement of multi-party real-time media applications.

  • Flexible multibody simulations are widely used in the industry to design mechanical systems. In flexible multibody dynamics, deformation coordinates are described either relatively in the body reference frame that is floating in the space or in the inertial reference frame. Moreover, these deformation coordinates are generated based on the discretization of the body according to the finite element approach. Therefore, the formulation of the flexible multibody system always deals with a huge number of degrees of freedom and the numerical solution methods require a substantial amount of computational time. Parallel computational methods are a solution for efficient computation. However, most of the parallel computational methods are focused on the efficient solution of large-sized linear equations. For multibody analysis, we need to develop an efficient formulation that could be suitable for parallel computation. In this paper, we developed a subsystem synthesis method for a flexible multibody system and proposed efficient parallel computational schemes based on the OpenMP API in order to achieve efficient computation. Simulations of a rotating blade system, which consists of three identical blades, were carried out with two different parallel computational schemes. Actual CPU times were measured to investigate the efficiency of the proposed parallel schemes.

  • In this paper, we proposed an arduino-based smart green house management system model and implemented it. The proposed system consists of control unit composed of sensors and arduino, agent program controlling the green house, and web applications providing user interfaces. The control unit transmits data of sensors such as temperature, humidity, illuminance, moisture, etc. to the agent program, and then the agent saves the data in its database. In reverse, control data are transmitted from agent program to control unit. Users can monitor sensed data of green houses and control actuators remotely using web. Plus, smart green house management is available by context awareness and autonomous control functions of the proposed system.

  • Open Market is one of the key factors to accelerate the profit. Usually retailers sell items in several Open Market. One of the challenges for retailers is to assign categories of items with different classification systems. In this research, we propose an item category recommendation method to support appropriate products category registration. Our recommendations are based on semantic relation between existing and any other Open Market categorization. In order to analyze correlations of categories, we use Morpheme analysis, Korean Wiki Dictionary, WordNet and Google Translation API. Our proposed method recommends a category, which is most similar to a guide word by measuring semantic similarity. The experimental results show that, our system improves the system accuracy in term of search category, and retailers can easily select the appropriate categories from our proposed method.

  • The convergence technology of ICT(Information & Communication Technology) in agriculture is the main key of the future agricultural industry. Recently, many that by using big data it can improve crop growth-circumstance and agricultural Industry. However, the data of crop growth-circumstance has been not shared and operated separately by individual farm. Therefore, it is necessary to build the LOK(Linked Open Knowledge) system for Quality of Farming & Farm product. We research previous studies for big data and development of the corp growth-circumstance using big data system case. Also, we suggest to build LOK system for improving the domestic agricultural industry.

  • It is difficult to merge text document and to remake use of documents on the most collaborative document authoring system using text document, and also to provide the storage place for saving and keeping documents. It has vulnerable drawbacks about the security though it provides the accessible abilities due to basing it on Web. In this paper, we design and implementation the collaborative document authoring system for XML document to improve a couple of problems on these systems. For these, we based on the DOM to manipulate the modeling object documents and utilized RMI on this system without considering socket communication when it transmits and receives Java objects. We improved the security through processes of authentication. By providing templates and editing functions such as annotation, visualization of document structures, we made easier making collaborative document authoring more than ever.

  • As the size of the airport terminal grows in line with the rapid growth of aviation passengers, the advanced baggage handling system that combines various data technologies has become an essential element in order to handle the baggage carried by passengers swiftly and accurately. Therefore, this study introduces the method of analyzing the baggage handling capacity of domestic airports through the latest data analysis methodology from the process point of view to advance the operation of the airport BHS and the main points based on event log data. By presenting an accurate load prediction method, it can lead to advanced BHS operation strategies in the future, such as the preemptive arrangement of resources and optimization of flight-carrousel scheduling. The data used in the analysis utilized the APIs that can be obtained by searching for "Korea Airports Corporation" in the public data portal. As a result of applying the method to the domestic airport BHS simulation model, it was possible to confirm a high level of predictive performance.

  • Recently, our local governments are conducting the introduction of tram system because it is recognized as an effective public transit that can solve a traffic jam in downtown, decreasing public transit share and environmental issues in world wide cities. We developed the Active Priority Control Strategy to efficiently operate a tram in our existing traffic signal system. This study organized the tram system for operating the Active Priority Signal Control, developed the algorithm that calculates a tram-stop dwell time in order to pass the downstream intersection without a stop. The dwell time is determined by arrival time at tram-stop, downstream signal time, and the location of a opposite tram, it can be reduced by choosing the optimal one among Signal Priority Controls. Using the VISSIM and VISVAP model, we conducted a simulation test for the city of Chang-won that it is expected to install a tram system. It showed that a developed signal control strategy is effective to prevent a tram's stop in intersections, to reduce a tram's travel time.
