Development of control model and system for AMS (Automated Manufacturing Systems) has long been interested by researchers. Presented in the paper is a systematic approach to constructing a Petri-nets(PNs) model of AMS and method for design a graphical model of a AMS by using a new modeling tool which is called PNs. So, the procedure of modeling in the AMS is the same as current practice of AMS design and is based on the IOM (Integrated Object-oriented Modeling) paradigm. An AMS, which consists of various machine groups, can produce machine parts in different physical dimensions and lot size. To model such a system, the method which utilizes Sub-PNs are proposed. This enables the models according to part routings. The machine group which causes bottleneck is obtained and modified to relieve the problem. By iterating these steps which consist of modelling, simulation, and performance evaluation, an AMS can e obtained which satisfies the required manufacturing conditions. Finally, the implementation issues of PN modeling are addressed. The approach is the IOM from PN modeling by Sub-PNs and the other is a development of IOM tool for the performance evaluation of AMS.
The radiometric correction is prerequisite to derive both land and ocean surface properties from optical remote sensing data. Radiometric calibration of remotely sensed data has traditionally been accomplished by means of vicarious ground calibration techniques. The purpose of this study is to calibrate the radiometric characteristic of Airborne Multispectral Scanner (AMS) by field campaign. In order to calibrate the AMS data, four different spectral tarps which are 3.5%, 23%, 35%, and 53% were validated by GER-3700 that is the surface reflectance measurement equipment and were utilized. After validation of the spectral tarps, each reflectance from the spectral tarps was compared with Digital Number (DN) value of AMS. There was very high correlation between tarp reflectance and DN value of AMS so that radiometric calibration of AMS data has been accomplished by those results. The calibrated AMS data were validated with in-situ measured reflectance data from artificial and natural target. Also QuickBird image data were used for verifying the results of AMS radiometric calibration. This presentation discusses the results of the above tests.

In this study, we compared growth pattern, floc yield, Exo-polysaccharides (EPS) production, Poly-${\beta}$-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) accumulation, resistance to osmotic and acid stress in Methylobacterium strains CBMB20, CBMB27, CBMB35, and CBMB110. Modified high C:N ratio medium denoted as HCN-AMS medium was used with a C:N ratio of 30:1. The HCN-AMS medium favored increased growth in all the studied strains. All Methylobacterium strains tested positive for EPS production and showed positive fluorescence with calcoflour stain. Elevated levels of EPS production from 4.2 to 75.0% was observed in HCN-AMS medium. Accumulation of PHB in HCN-AMS medium increased by 3.8, 36.7, and 12.0% in strains CBMB27, CBMB35, and CBMB110 respectively. Among the abiotic stresses, osmotic stress-induced growth inhibition of Methylobacterium strains was found to be lowered when grown in HCN-AMS medium. Likewise, growth inhibition due to acid stress at pH 5.0 was lower for strains grown in HCN-AMS medium compared to growth in AMS medium. Enhanced survivability under stress conditions may be attributed to the high EPS and PHB production at increased carbon concentration in the growth medium.

Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) is presented for the applications to the environmental research. Traditionally the radiocarbon (14C) measurements have been made for the purpose of dating the archaeological and geological samples. 14C measurements using AMS however have become the more useful methods for the study of environmental science such as antropogenic modification of atmosphere and the determination of mixing ratios of fossil and biomass products. Such 14C AMS measurements have been extended to the discovery of new chemical tracers for investigations of sources of excessive contributions of CO2, CO, CH4 and other carbon-bearing molecules in the atmosphere.

Ship system is very complicated. Machine in ship system are in close connection with each other, so one is affected by others. Thus, person who want to be a marine engineer have to study not only each machine but also their relationship. For this, intelligent diagnosis system for advanced education is necessity. In this paper, AMS and failure diagnosis system is developed by using LabVIEW, G programming language.
Purpose: We designed the aft-multiple-slit (AMS) system to reduce scatter in cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). As a preliminary study, we performed a Monte Carlo N-Particle Transport Code (MCNP) simulation to verify the effectiveness of this system. Materials and Methods: The MCNPX code was used to build the AMS geometry. An AMS is an equi-angled arc to consider beam divergence. The scatter-reduced projection images were compared with the primary images only and the primary plus scatter radiation images with and without AMS to evaluate the effectiveness of scatter reduction. To obtain the full 2 dimensional (2D) projection image, the whole AMS system was moved to obtain closed septa of the AMS after the first image acquisition. Results: The primary radiation with and without AMS is identical to all the slit widths, but the profiles of the primary plus scattered radiation varied according to the slit widths in the 2D projection image. The average scatter reduction factors were 29%, 15%, 9%, and 8% when the slit widths were 5 mm, 10 mm, 15 mm, and 20 mm, respectively. Conclusion: We have evaluated the scatter reduction effect of the AMS in CBCT imaging using the Monte Carlo (MC) simulations. A preliminary study based on the MCNP simulations showed a mount of scatter reduction with the proposed system.
Suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) was used to isolate wound-induced cDNAs from wounded soybean. One of wound-induced cDNA, gmwi33 showed high homology with genes encoding $\beta$-amyrin synthase. The full length cDNA of gmwi33, designated GmAMS1, is 2416 bp long and contains an open reading frame consisted of 739 amino acids. GmAMS1 protein showed 89% identity with licorice GgbAS1 and 86% identity with pea OSCPSY. In 5 day-old, dark-grown seedlings, the expression of GmAMS1 was most strongly induced by light and weakly induced by methyl jasmonate and by low temperature. However, GmAMS1 was not induced by elicitor or UV-B treatment. Such expression pattern might be closely related with the oxygen-radical scavenging activity of soyasaponin.
The present survey was conducted to provide basic information on automatic milking system (AMS) in relation to purchase motive, milk yield and quality, customer satisfaction, difficulties of operation and customer suggestions, etc. Purchase motives of AMS were insufficient labor (44%), planning of dairy experience farm (25%), better performance of high yield cows (19%) and others (6%), respectively. Average cow performance after using AMS was 30.9l/d for milk yield, 3.9% for milk fat, 9,100/ml for bacterial counts. Sixty-eight percentage of respondents were very positive in response to AMS use for their successors but 18% were negative. The AMS operators were owner (44%), successor (44%), wife (6%) and company worker (6%), respectively. The most difficulty (31%) in using AMS was operating the system and complicated program manual. The rate of response to system error and breakdown was 25%. The reasons for culling cow after using AMS were mastitis (28%), reproduction failure (19%), incorrect teat placement (12%), metabolic disease (7%) and others (14%), respectively. Fifty-six percentages of the respondents made AMS maintenance contract and 44% did not. Average annual cost of the maintenance contract was 6,580,000 won. Average score for AMS satisfaction measurement (1 to 5 range) was 3.2 with decrease of labor cost 3.7, company A/S 3.6, increase of milk yield 3.2 and decrease of somatic cell count 2.8, respectively. Suggestions for the higher efficiency in using AMS were selecting cows with correct udder shape and teat placement, proper environment, capital and land, and attitude for continuous observation. Systematic consulting was highly required for AMS companies followed by low cost for AMS setup and systematization of A/S.

Anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS), directional variation of susceptibility in a sample, indicates the relative magnitude and orientation of preferentially aligned magnetic grains in a rock sample and represents important aspects of rock fabrics. This observation leads to various studies which applied the AMS technique to numerous geological problems, especially sedimentology, petrology, structural geology, and tectonics. Since AMS is, relative to conventional methods of petrofabric measurement, quickly measured, easily interpretated, and providing quantitative data, AMS technique has evolved into a powerful tool for detection of rock fabrics and continues to draw the interest of non-specialists as well as magnetists. This paper represents the theory, techniques, and parameters of the relatively new AMS method for estimating petrofabrics and their various applications.
