Simulation on Characteristics of Constant Power Regulator Systems in Variable Displacement Axial Piston Pump (사판식 가변 용량형 액셜 피스톤 펌프의 일정출력 레귤레이터 특성 시뮬레이션)

  • In this study, modeling and numerical simulations has been performed to investigate performance characteristics of constant power regulator system for swash plate type axial piston pump. The commercial numerical simulation software, AMESim was applied for analyzing the dynamic behavior of constant power regulator system of swash plate axial piston pump. The validity of simulation model of constant power regulator system is verified by comparing simulation results with experiments. Also, the behavior of main components of constant power regulator system such as spool, sleeve and counterbalance piston is investigated using the results of computer simulation.

  • To improve the performance of clutch actuator of clutch-by-wire system for commercial vehicles, it is necessary to understand the driving characteristics of the system. To explain and predict the effects of driving characteristics on clutch characteristics, AMESim software is used. The simulation model of clutch-by-wire system is developed in the AMESim environments under the geometrical dimensions and driving mechanisms of the clutch-by-wire system, such as the rotation speed of the DC motor, the gear ratio of the reducer, the design parameters of the release fork, the coefficient of the clutch diaphragm spring, and so on. The results show that the theoretical analysis of the clutch-by-wire system for commercial vehicles using the AMESim software find out the driving characteristics of the clutch actuator, and predict the performance characteristics of the clutch-by-wire system.

  • As NMP (N-Methyl-2pyrrolidone) is becoming important in many fields, the demand for it is also rising rapidly. With its chemical property of high boiling point, low vapor pressure and high water solubility, it is easy to recover it after processing. Therefore, it is increasingly needed to develop a system that effectively recovers NMP solvent. The study produced a system modeling using AMESim software before developing high purity solvent recovery (HPSR) system to recover NMP solvent. Then, it verified reliability by comparing the simulation model with the test result.

  • Hydrostatic pumps and motors occupy an important position in hydraulic system. There are a lot of researches on characteristics of hydraulic pumps, but not hydraulic motors. So in order to know the characteristics of hydraulic motors we had this research. The purpose of this study is to derive and analyze the theoretical calculation of hydraulic axial piston motor torque and torque ripples. Then, analyzed the differences between torque ripples with dead place and without dead place on the valve plate, and modeling a hydraulic motor with AMESim software. Finally, theoretical calculation of hydraulic motor torque ripples was verified from the viewpoint of simulation.

  • Heat pumps have attracted considerable attention as a green energy system because they use renewable energy, such as geothermal, solar energy and waste heat, and can have a low electricity consumption rate compared to other conventional electric heating system. Many studies of high efficient heat pump system design was performed previously,but it is not easy to find any an analytical model that consists of components (e.g. compressor, heat exchangers, and expansion valve), not only having an interrelation and interconnection each other but also being flexible to any change in geometry and operating parameters. In this study, a computational model was developed for a heat pump with warm air as a heat source using the one-dimensional modeling software, AMESim. In combination with an independently-developed analytical model for a scroll compressor, the heat pump model can simulate the physical characteristics and actual behavior of the heat pump precisely. In addition, the reliability of the model was improved by verifying the simulation results using experimental data. The simulation data fell into the 10% error range compared with the experimental data. The heat pump model can be used for system optimization studies of product development and applied to other applications in a range of industrial field.

  • A high-pressure fuel pump is a key component in a gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine; thus, understanding its flow characteristics is essential for improving the engine power and fuel efficiency. In this study, AMESim, which is a hydraulic analysis program, was used to analyze the performance of the high-pressure fuel pump. However, since AMESim uses a one-dimensional model for the system analysis, it does not accurately analyze the complicated flow characteristics. Thus, Fluent, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, was used to calculate the flow rates and net forces at the intake and discharge ports of the high-pressure fuel pump where turbulent flow occurs. The CFD analysis results for various pressure conditions and valve lifts were used as look-up tables for the AMEsim model. The CFD analysis results complemented the AMEsim results, and thus, improved the accuracy of the performance analysis results for the high-pressure fuel pump.

  • Drive mechanism of multi-axis pintle thrusters for DCS(Divert Control System) was designed to meet the needs of minimizing the number of driving motors. In this study, preliminary model was designed in order to implement appropriate pressure control and thrust distribution. Based on the preliminary model study, the drive mechanism for DCS multi-axis pintle thrusters using piston was designed and evaluated by using AMESim software. Results show that three driving motors are enough to actuate four pintle thrusters.

  • The work to raise the bridge plate by using two hydraulic cylinders is very dangerous when generating the unbalance state between cylinders. For solving this problem, one cylinder is forced to follow the trajectory of another cylinder instead of applying the same trajectory to two cylinders at once. In this paper, the control method for dynamic stable on lifting the bridge plate is proposed. The simulation model is derived by using commercial software, AMESim and MatLab/simulink. The PID controller is designed on one cylinder for following the reference trajectory and the adaptive controller is designed on another cylinder for tracking the displacement of one cylinder. The performance improvement is shown by comparing the simulation results through computer simulation.

Characteristics Analysis of the Fluid Power System for a Double-color Injection Molding Machine Development (이색 사출성형기 개발을 위한 유압시스템의 특성 검토)

  • Double-color Injection molding machine is the assembly of many kinds of mechanical, fluid power part and electric electronic control system. From in these, fluid power is a part where becomes the first core of this machine. Fluid power systems of double-color injection molding machine are modelled and analyzed using a commercial program AMESim. Partial system models which is divided according to functional operation are made and its analysis results shows how design parameters work on operational characteristics like pressure, flow rates, displacement at each node and so on. Analysis modeling and compared the data which gets from experiment and the analysis result which has a reliability got data. The results made by analysis will be used design of fluid power circuit for developing a double-color injection molding machine.
