Methodology for Simulation of Trochoid Pump (트로코이드 펌프의 시뮬레이션 방법론)

  • Flow rate control is the uppermost concern for a trochoid hydraulic pump. Cavitation within the flow field of the pump has the greatest effect on the flow control during high-speed pump rotation of approximately 3500~4000 RPM. In this paper, based on AMESim$^{(R)}$ and Solid Works$^{(R)}$, we will present a method to simulate cavitation by analyzing the control factors of a trochoid pump, including the hydraulic pressure change at the outlet, flow rate based on the rotation speed of the inner rotor, leakage through the gap between the outer and inner rotors, and discharging angle of the outlet. The proposed methodology of the [cavitation simulation will enable field engineers to more easily design trochoid pumps, and will allow more concrete control over the flow rate of the pump by realizing an analysis model similar to the actual product model.

A Study on the Reduction of Unclamping Time by Design of Experiments (실험계획법을 이용한 초고속 스핀들의 언클램핑 (unclamping) 시간 저감에 대한 최적 조건에 관한 연구)

  • By the reason of increased demand of high productivity, the researches on manufacturing process and equipments for reducing cycle time have been made in many directions of a machine tool industries. Especially high productivity is very important to machining center with high-speed spindle. This paper proposed method of reducing T-T(tool to tool) time which results in shorter unclamping time. T-T time varies as factors such as a hydraulic system, a drawbar mass, a flow meter, a disc spring, piston and pipe diameters. In this paper We could find design factors has much influence on decreasing the unclamping time using DOE(Design of Experiment) and optimized the level of the factors using AMESim $4.0^{(R)}$ and visualNastran $4D^{(R)}$ Finally, we have verified improved result of the optimized factors with initial design.

  • In the electro-hydraulic injector for the common rail Diesel fuel injection system, the injection nozzle is being opened and closed by movement of a injector's needle which is balanced by pressure at the nozzle seat and at the needle control chamber, at the opposite end of the needle. In this study, the piezo actuator was considered as a prime movers in high pressure Diesel injector. Namely a piezo-driven Diesel injector, as a new method driven by piezoelectric energy, has been applied with a purpose to develop the analysis model of the piezo actuator to predict the dynamics characteristics of the hydraulic component(injector) by using the AMESim code. Aimed at simulating the hydraulic behavior of the piezo-driven injector, the circuit model has been developed and verified by comparison with the experimental results. As this research results, we found that the input voltage exerted on piezo stack is the dominant factor which affects on the initial needle behavior of piezo-driven injector than the hydraulic force generated by the constant injection pressure. Also we know the piezo-driven injector has more degrees of freedom in controlling the injection rate with the high pressure than a solenoid-driven injector.

Simulation on the performance of an automobile climate control system with Internal heat exchanger and TXV (내부열교환기와 TXV를 적용한 자동차용 공조시스템의 성능에 관한 수치적 연구)

  • Recently, automobile air conditioning systems have applied an alternative refrigerant that can replace the high GWP refrigerant R134a due to the global warming problem. This study simulated the performance of an automobile climate control system with an internal heat exchanger and TXV. Refrigerant R1234yf was applied as the working fluid. Amesim, a commercial software program, was used to model the main components of the compressor, condenser, TXV, evaporator, and internal heat exchanger. As the outside temperature increased from 30℃ to 40℃, the cooling capacity of the system decreased by 3.1%, and the power consumption of the compressor increased by 17.1%. In addition, The performance characteristics of the refrigeration cycle were simulated by increasing the fin pitch of the condenser from 0.8 mm to 1.4 mm. When the fin pitch was larger than 1.0 mm, the condenser capacity decreased, and the system COP was lowered by 5.9%. When the fin pitch of the condenser was 0.8 mm, which was smaller than 1.0 mm, there was no significant change in the system performance. Hence, the optimal performance was observed at a fin pitch of 1.0 mm.

Model-based Design and Performance Analysis of Main Control Valve of Flap Control System (플랩제어시스템 주제어밸브의 모델기반 설계 및 성능해석)

  • The design of the main control valve, which is the main component of the flap control system, was based on actual manufacturing experience on the basis of trial and error method. In this paper, a model-based part design method is proosed. The flap control system consists of a main control valve, fail-safe valve, solenoid valve, LVDT and force motor. The main control valve consists mainly of a spool and slot. The important design parameters of the main control valve are the slot width, overlap and clearance. AMESim is linked to the model and it analyzes the flow path of the main control valve. Applying the proposed design procedure, it was confirmed that the required performance was satisfied within the allowable machining error range.

Hydraulic Modal Analysis of High-Pressure Common-rail Fuel Injection System for Passenger Vehicle (승용 CR 연료분사시스템에 대한 유압 Modal 분석)

  • Recently, R&D demand for environmental friendly vehicle has rapidly increased due to its global environmental issues such as global warming, energy and economic crisis. Under this situation, the most realistic alternative way for environmental friendly vehicle is a clean diesel vehicle. The common-rail fuel injection system, as key technology of clean diesel vehicle, consists of a high pressure pump, common-rail, high pressure fuel line and electronic control injector. In common-rail high-pressure fuel injection system, high pressure wave of injection system and geometry of injector elements have a major effects on high-pressure fuel spray. Therefore, in this study, the numerical model was developed for analysis about the common-rail fuel pressure pulsation by using AMESim code. We could secure stability of common-rail high-pressure fuel injection system through optimal design of fuel line.
