Food yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, is a safe organism with a long history of use for the production of biomass rich in high quality proteins and vitamins. AmA1, a seed storage albumin from Amaranthus hypochondriacus, has a well-balanced amino acid composition and high levels of essential amino acids and offers the possibility of further improving food animal feed additives. In order to find an effective means of expressing AmA1 in yeast, the gene was cloned into an episomal shuttle vector. Four different promoters were tested: the glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase promoter, galactose dehydrogenase 10 promoter, alcohol dehydrogenase II promoter, and a hybrid ADH2-GPD promoter. The recombinant AmA1 genes were then introduced into the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae 2805. Northern and Western blot analyses of the yeast under appropriate conditions revealed that AmA1 was expressed by all four promoters at varying levels. An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay demonstrated that the amount of AmA1 protein in the recombinant yeast was 1.3-4.3% of the total soluble proteins. The highest expression level was obtained from the hybrid ADH2-GPD promoter.
In a recent study, the microstructures and mechanical properties of AM80-xSn magnesium alloys with semi solid casting and hot extrusion process were investigated. With increasing Sn content, the amount of ${\beta}$(Mg2Sn) phase increased, while the ${\alpha}-Mg$ dendritic size decreased. The hardness was increased by the Mg2Sn as the Sn content increased. With increasing Sn content, permanent mold cast and semi solid cast AM80 Mg alloy showed less reduction of hardness and also of extruded AM80 Mg alloy after annealing. In the case of the mechanical properties, the extruded semi solid casting AM80 Mg alloy showed higher tensile strength and yield strength with increasing Sn content compared to the extruded permanent mold cast AM80 Mg alloy at room temperature.
In order to find a potent anti-methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) antibiotic, actinomycetes isolated from the samples collected in Korean marine silt were screened. From the culture broth of the isolated Streptamyces strain AM045, a substance showing excellent biological activity against MRSA was found, isolated and named AM3. The compound showed strong activities against MRSA, S. epidermidis, E. faecium and E. faecalis, which were better than those of vancomycin and teicoplanin. Unfortunately, AM3 was identified as Actinomycin V. However, this paper reports the three dimensional study of AM3 based on high resolution nmr and Computer Aided Molecular Modeling(CAMM), and the fact that the structure of the pentapeptide lactone ring with oxo-proline in chloroform solution does not have 'C conformation' any more.

This paper analysis the AM-SCS-MMA (Adaptive Modulus-Soft Constraint Satisfaction-MMA) based on the adaptive modulus and minimus-disturbance technique in order to improve the stability and robustness in low signal to noise power of current MMA adaptive equalization algorithm. In AM-SCS-MMA, it updates the filter coefficient applying the adaptive modulus and minimum-disturbance technique of deterministic optimization problem instead of LMS or gradient descend algorithm for obtain the minimize the cost function of adaptive equalization. It is possible to improve the equalizer filter stability, robustness to the various noise characteristic and simultaneous reducing the intersymbol interference due to the amplitude and phase distortion occurred at channel. The computer simulation were performed for confirming the improved performance of SCS-MMA. For these, the output signal constellation of equalizer, residual isi, MSE, EMSE (Excess MSE) which means the channel traking capability and SER which means the robustness were applied. As a result of computer simulation, the AM-SCS-MMA have slow convergence time and less residual quantities after steady state, more good robustness in the poor signal to noise ratio, but poor in channel tracking capabilities was confirmed than MMA.

A greenhouse experiment was conducted to investigate the role of the arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM) fungus, Glomus mosseae(BEG 107) in enhancing growth and arsenic(As) and phosphorus(P) uptake of white clover(Trifolium repens) and evening primrose(Oenothera odorata) in soil collected from a gold mine having concentrations of 381.6 mg total As $kg^{-1}$ and 20.5 mg available As $kg^{-1}$. Trifolium repens and O. odorata are widely distributed on abandoned metalliferous mines in Korea. The percent root colonization by the AM fungus was 55.9% and 62.3% in T. repens and O. odorata, respectively, whereas no root colonization was detected in control plants grown in a sterile medium. The shoot dry weight of T. repens and O. odorata was increased by 323 and 117% in the AM plants compared to non-mycorrhizal(NAM) plants, respectively. The root dry weight increased up to 24% in T. repens and 70% in O. odorata following AM colonization compared to control plants. Mycorrhizal colonization increased the accumulation of As in the root tissues of T. repens and O. odorata by 99.7 and 91.7% compared to the NAM plants, respectively. The total uptake of P following AM colonization increased by 50% in T. repens and 70% in O. odorata, whereas the P concentration was higher in NAM plants than in the AM plants. Colonization with AM fungi increased the As resistance of the host plants to As toxicity by augmenting the yield of dry matter and increasing the total P uptake. Hence, the application of an AM fungus can effectively improve the phytoremediation capability of T. repens and O. odorata in As-contaminated soil.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the marginal and internal gap of metal coping fabricated using additive manufacturing (AM) group and subtractive manufacturing (SM) group by dental computer-aided design (CAD)/computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) systems. Twenty same cases of stone models of abutment teeth 16 by the universal numbering system were manufactured and scanned. Ten metal copings of control group were fabricated using SM and ten metal coping of experimental group were fabricated using AM. Marginal and internal gap of copings were measured using the silicone replica technique and digital microscope (${\times}140$). The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 21.0 Statistical Software for independent samples t-test (${\alpha}=0.05$). Mean${\pm}$ standard deviation (SD) of marginal and internal gap total size of SM group was $101.00{\pm}40.33{\mu}m$ of AM group was $83.61{\pm}40.37{\mu}m$. Mean${\pm}$SD of marginal and internal gap total size of SM group was significantly greater than that of AM group (p<0.05). This study showed that AM metal copings had a better marginal and internal gap than SM metal copings.
Many researchers have employed cryopreserved amniotic membrane (CAM) in the treatment of a severely damaged cornea, using corneal epithelial cells cultured on an amniotic membrane (AM). In this study, two Teflon rings were made for culturing the cells on the LAM and CAM, and were then used to support the AM, which is referred to in this paper as an Ahn's AM supporter. The primary corneal epithelial cells were obtained from the limbus, using an ex-plantation method. The corneal epithelium could be reconstructed by culturing the thirdpassage corneal epithelial cells on the AM. A lyophilized amniotic membrane (LAM) has a higher rate of graft take, a longer shelf life, is easier to store, and safer, due to gamma irradiation, than a (AM. The corneal epithelium reconstructed on the LAM and (AM, supported by the twoTeflon rings, was similar to normal corneal epithelium. However, the advantages of the LAM over that of the (AM make the former more useful. The reconstruction model of the corneal epithelium, using AM, is considered as a good in vitro model for transplantation of cornel epithelium into patients with a severely damaged cornea.

This paper presents a quantitative method of sequential separation of $^{90}Sr,\;^{241}Am$ and Pu nuclides with an anion exchange resin and a Sr-Spec resin. The Pu isotopes were purified with an anion exchange resin. The americium and strontium fractions were separated from the matrix elements with an oxalate co-precipitation method. Americium fraction was separated from the strontium fraction with iron co-precipitation method and purified from lanthanides with anion exchange resin. Strontium-90 was purified from other hindrance elements with the Sr-Spec resin after oxalate co-precipitation. The measurement of Pu and Am isotopes was carried out by an ${\alpha}$-spectrometer. Strontium-90 was measured by a liquid scintillation counter. The radiochemical procedure of $^{90}Sr,\;^{241}Am$ and Pu nuclides investigated in this study has been validated by application to IAEA-Reference soils.

Transuranic elements such as Pu, Am and Cm in synthetic solution of spent nuclear fuel samples were determined by electrodeposition followed by alpha-spectrometry after separation using anion exchange and extraction chromatography in order to determine the transuranic elements in radwaste samples from nuclear power plants. Plutonium was separated by 12M HC1-0.1M HI as an eluent on anion exchange column. As a second step Am and Cm were separated in a group by DTPA-Lactic acid as the eluent on HDEHP coated column. The nuclides of $^{239}Pu$, $^{241}Am$및 $^{244}Cm$ separated were determined by alpha-spectrometry after electrodeposition in 0.1M $NaHSo_4$-0.53M $Na_2SO_4$buffer solution as an electrolyte. The recovery yields of $^{239}Pu$, $^{241}Am$및 $^{244}Cm$ were 83.8%, 85.2% and 86.3%, respectively, from the synthetic solution containing uranium and non-radioactive metal elements.
