  • MAS based market simulator has attracted the attentions of people who are interested in using or developing electricity market simulator. MAS based approach makes it possible to model each market participant's strategic behaviors. Traditional market simulators have used optimization formulation to model market operation, which has been used since vertically integrated system. Optimization mainly uses cost minimization or welfare maximization of entire system. Therefore it is somehow difficult to model the independently strategic behaviors of market participants. MAS is one of AI technology based on distributed intelligence which makes it possible to model independently acting entities in competitive market. This paper proposes the method to model strategic participants in electricity market based on MAS.

  • This paper presents a development of an educational simulator of particle swarm optimization (PSO) and application for solving the test functions and economic dispatch (ED) problems with nonsmooth cost functions. A particle swarm optimization is one of the most powerful methods for solving global optimization problems. It is a population-based search algorithm and searches in parallel using a group of particles similar to other AI-based heuristic optimization techniques. In developed simulator, lecturers and students can select the functions for simulation and set the parameters that have an influence on PSO performance. To improve searching capability for ED problems, a crossover operation is proposed to the position update of each individual (CR-PSO). To verify the feasibility of CR-PSO method, numerical studies have been performed for two different sample systems. The proposed CR-PSO method outperforms other algorithms in solving ED problems.

  • Recently, as the IoT(Internet of Things) and AI(Artificial Intelligence) technologies have developed, smart toys that can understand and act on the language of human beings are being studied. In this paper, we study voice learning using CNN(Convolutional Neural Network) by applying artificial intelligence based voice secretary technology to smart toy. When a human voice command gives, Smart Toy recognizes human voice, converts it into text, analyzes the morpheme, and conducts tagging and voice learning. As a result of test for the simulator program implemented using Python, no malfunction occurred in a single command. And satisfactory results were obtained within the selected simulation condition range.

  • In this paper, in order to prevent a fall accident that occurs while working without fastening the safety hook at a construction site, a method to detect whether the safety hook is fastened using two coils is proposed. Ansys' Maxwell, an electromagnetic wave analysis simulator, was used to analyze the magnetic field before and after the safety hook fastening, and the possibility of confirming the fastening of the safety hook using the difference in the mutual inductance change and the resulting current induced in the receiving coil was shown.

  • With the development of ICT and network, security management of IT infrastructure that has grown in size is becoming very difficult. Many companies and public institutions are having difficulty managing system and network security. In addition, as the complexity of hardware and software grows, it is becoming almost impossible for a person to manage all security. Therefore, AI is essential for network security management. However, since it is very dangerous to operate an attack model in a real network environment, cybersecurity emulation research was conducted through reinforcement learning by implementing a real-life network environment. To this end, this study applied reinforcement learning to the network environment, and as the learning progressed, the agent accurately identified the vulnerability of the network. When a network vulnerability is detected through AI, automated customized response becomes possible.

  • Some innovative researchers have had a dream of self-thinking intelligent computer. Alphago, at last, showed its possibility. With it, most computer engineers including even students can learn easily how to do it. As the interest to the deep learning has been growing, people's expectation is also naturally growing. In this research, we tried to enhance the game ability of a 7-poker system by applying machine learning techniques. In addition, we also tried to apply emotion analysis of a player to trace ones emotional changes. Methods and outcomes are to be explained in this paper.

  • Climate change is undeniably the most urgent challenge that humanity faces today. Despite this, the level of public awareness and understanding of climate change remains insufficient, indicating a need for more proactive education and the development of supportive content. In particular, it is crucial to intensify climate change education during elementary and secondary schooling when values and ethical consciousness begin to form. However, there is a significant lack of age-appropriate, experiential educational content. To address this, our study has developed an innovative 3D simulator, enabling learners to indirectly experience the effects of climate change, specifically sea-level rise. This simulator considers not only sea-level rise caused by climate change but also storm surges, which is a design based on the analysis of long-term wave observation big data. To make the simulator accessible and engaging for students, we utilized the 'Unity' game engine. We further propose using this simulator as a part of a comprehensive educational program on climate change.

  • With the advances in Internet over Things, the demand in diverse electronic devices such as mobile phones and sensors has been rapidly increasing and boosting up the researches on those products. Semiconductor materials, devices, and fabrication processes are becoming more diverse and complicated, which accompanies finding parameters for an optimal fabrication process. In order to find the parameters, a process simulation before fabrication or a real-time process control system during fabrication can be used, but they lack incorporating the feedback from post-fabrication data and compatibility with older equipment. In this research, we have developed an artificial intelligence based simulator, which finds parameters for an optimal process and controls process equipment. In order to apply the control concept to all the equipment in a fabrication sequence, we have developed a prototype for a manipulator which can be installed over an existing buttons and knobs in the equipment and controls the equipment communicating with the AI over the Internet. The AI is based on the deep learning to find process parameters that will produce a device having target electrical characteristics. The proposed simulator can control existing equipment via the Internet to fabricate devices with desired performance and, therefore, it will help engineers to develop new devices efficiently and effectively.

  • The partial discharge testing is widely used in diagnostic measuring technology because it gives low stress to power equipment which is undertaken tests. Therefore it is very useful method compare to previous destructive methods and effective diagnosis method in power system that requires on-line/on-site diagnosis. But partial discharges have very complex characteristics of discharge pattern, so it is required continuous research to development of precise analysis method. In recent, the study of partial discharge is carrying out discover of initial defect of power equipment through condition diagnosis and system development of degradation diagnosis using HFPD(High Frequency Partial Discharge) detection. In this study, simulated system is manufactured and HFPD occurred from those simulator is measured with broad-band antenna in real time, the degradation grade of system is analyzed through produced patterns in simulated target according to the AI/statistics processing.

  • As technology advances, the need for enhanced preparedness against cyber-attacks becomes an increasingly critical problem. Therefore, it is imperative to consider various circumstances and to prepare for cyber-attack strategic technology. This paper proposes a method to solve network security problems by applying reinforcement learning to cyber-security. In general, traditional static cyber-security methods have difficulty effectively responding to modern dynamic attack patterns. To address this, we implement cyber-attack scenarios such as 'Tiny Alpha' and 'Small Alpha' and evaluate the performance of various reinforcement learning methods using Network Attack Simulator, which is a cyber-attack simulation environment based on the gymnasium (formerly Open AI gym) interface. In addition, we experimented with different RL algorithms such as value-based methods (Q-Learning, Deep-Q-Network, and Double Deep-Q-Network) and policy-based methods (Actor-Critic). As a result, we observed that value-based methods with discrete action spaces consistently outperformed policy-based methods with continuous action spaces, demonstrating a performance difference ranging from a minimum of 20.9% to a maximum of 53.2%. This result shows that the scheme not only suggests opportunities for enhancing cybersecurity strategies, but also indicates potential applications in cyber-security education and system validation across a large number of domains such as military, government, and corporate sectors.
