  • Anti-lock Braking System(ABS) is a device which prevents the wheels form locked up under emergency braking of a vehicle. So it helps the vehicle to maintain the steerability and shortens the braking distance by maintaining optimal frictional force during braking since the tire road slip is controlled in acceptable range. Recently, ABS is accepted as a standard equipment in vehicles, especially in commercial vehicles(bus and trucks). Commercial vehicles don´t use hydraulic lines but use pneumatic lines for braking system mostly.   • This paper studies on the design of a servo controller for an antilock brake system(ABS) based on the car tire model. First, a nonlinear differential equation of the car tire is constructed and its linearization model is obtained by Taylor's series. Second, a servo controller based on the mathematical model is analytically designed to obtain the maximum brake force, where the tire velocity and the slip ratio of car tire are respectively controlled to the given command values. Third, it is theoretically shown that the proposed control algorithm has good usefulness in ABS.

  • 현대사회에서 유전자원의 상업적 이용이 증가함에 따라 생물다양성협약 내에서 유전자원 이용에 대한 공정하고 공평한 이익공유의 필요성이 개발도상국을 중심으로 지속적으로 제기되고 있다. 그 결과 비구속적 성격의 본 가이드라인(Bonn Guideline)을 대체할 수 있는 유전자원 접근 및 이익공유에 관한 국제레짐(ABS 국제레짐)에 대한 논의가 2010년 타결을 목표로 계속되고 있다. 현재 진행되고 있는 생물다양성협약상 ABS 국제레짐에 대한 정확한 이해와 분석 그리고 이에 바탕을 둔 대응방안의 모색을 위해서는 생물다양성협약상의 논의는 물론이고 관련 국제기구 및 국내법 상의 논의를 면밀히 살피고 이들의 상호 관계에 대해서 이해하는 것이 중요하다. 우리의 경우는 유전자원 이용국으로서 가능성이 크다는 점을 고려하여, ABS 국제레짐 형성에 대한 논의과정에서 유전자원의 이용에 따른 이익의 공정하고 공평한 배분과 함께 유전자원에 대한 적절한 접근이 가능하도록 하는 즉, 이익공유와 접근 문제가 공히 보장될 수 있는 ABS 국제레짐 형성에 기여할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해서는 생물다양성협약 및 관련 국제기구에서 논의되고 있는 유전자원 이용과 접근 문제를 종합적으로 다룰 수 있는 정부 대응체계를 갖추는 것이 필요하다.

  • Using the recently developed ABS algorithm for solving linear Diophantine equations we introduce an algorithm for solving a system of m linear integer inequalities in n variables, m $\leq$ n, with full rank coefficient matrix. We apply this result to solve linear integer programming problems with m $\leq$ n inequalities.

상용 소프트웨어를 이용한 차량 모델 및 ABS 제어기의 성능 평가 (Validation of a Vehicle Model and an ABS Controller with a Commercial Software Program)

  • This paper presents a mathematical vehicle model that is designed to analyze the dynamic performance and to develop various safety control systems. Wheel slip controllers for ABS is also formulated to improve the vehicle response and to increase the safety on slippery road. Validation of the model and controller is performed by comparison with a commercial software package, CarSim. The result shows that performances of developed vehicle model are in good accordance with those of the CarSim on various driving conditions. Developed ABS controller is applied to the vehicle model and CarSim model, and it achieves good control performance. ABS controller improves lateral stability as well as longitudinal one when a vehicle is in turning maneuver on slippery road. A driver model is also designed to control steer angle of the vehicle model. It also shows good performance because the vehicle tracks the desired lane very well.

  • The therapeutic antibody drug market has experienced explosive growth as mAbs become the main therapeutic modality for a variety of diseases. Characterization of glycosylation that directly affects the efficacy and safety of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) is critical for therapeutics development, bioprocess system optimization, lot release, and comparability evaluation. The LC/MS approach has been widely used to structurally characterize mAbs, and recently attempts have been made to obtain comprehensive information on the primary structure and post-translational modifications (PTMs) of mAbs through intact protein analysis. In this study, we performed state-of-the-art LC/MS based intact protein analysis to readily identify and characterize glycoforms of various mAbs. Different glycoforms of mAbs produced in different expression cell lines including CHO, SP2/0 and HEK cells were monitored and compared. In addition, the comparability of protein molecular weight, glycoform pattern, and relative abundances of glycoforms between the commercialized trastuzumab biosimilar and the original product was determined in detail using the given platform. Intact mAb analysis allowed us to gain insight into the overall mAb structure, including the complexity and diversity of glycosylation. Furthermore, our analytical platform with high reproducibility is expected to be widely used for biopharmaceutical characterization required at all stages of drug development and manufacturing.

  • ABS(Antilock Brake System) prevents the wheels from "locking" and improve "handling" during braking. Currently, safety and environmental issues are a major concern in the automotive industry. ABS has become the vital brake system. ABS is composed of sensors for wheel speed, a pressure modulator for controlling the brake pressures in the wheel brake cylinders, and an electronic control unit(ECU) which evaluates the signals from the wheel speed sensors and converts these to commands to control the pressure of modulator. In this paper, ECU developed for commercial vehicles is described. Detection of wheel slip, control algorithms of ABS, and diagnosis method of ECU are presented.

  • An Anti-lock Brake System ABS is developed to increase the stability of vehicle and to reduce the stopping distance when braking manoeuvres by measuring the wheel and vehicle speed. An ABS mathematical model which describes the dynamics of vehicle and calculate the stopping distance, is explained in this paper. To proceed this study, a mathematical model is produced with simulink software package. Although the model considered here is relatively simple, it retains the essential dynamics of the system. The results are evaluated at the various driving or road conditions. The results from mathematical model show that ABS reduces the stopping distance at the various road conditions.   • The solenoid valve of ABS hydraulic modulator is a two directional on-off valve and is controlled by around 100Hz on-off control. When the on-off valve is switched from open state to closed state, there are braking force deterioration, noise and vibration due to surge pressure in the wheel cylinder. In this study, identifies surge pressure in the braking process of ABS, and investigates the way to reduce the phenomenon. To reduce the surge pressure, PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) control with high frequency of 20kHz was attempted. In conclusion, by using the results of this study for the pressure surge prediction, we could expect enhancement of braking performance in ABS.
