  • Three fully dehydrated partially $Ag^+$-exchanged zeolite A(Ag_4Na_8-A, Ag_6Na_6-A, and Ag_8Na_4-A) were treated at $250^{\circ}C$ with 0.1 torr Rb vapor at 4 h. Their structures were determined by singlecrystal X-ray diffraction methods in the cubic space group $Pm{\bar3}m$ (a = 12.264(4) $\AA$, a = 12.269(1) $\AA$, and a= 12.332(3) $\AA$, respectively) at $22(1)^{\circ}C$, and were refined to the final error indices, R(weighed), of 0.056 with 131 reflections, 0.068 with 108 reflections, and 0.070 with 94 reflections, respectively, for which I > $3\sigma(I).$ In these structures, Rb species are found at three different crystallographic sites; three $Rb^+$ ions per unit cell are located at 8-ring centers, ca. 6.0∼6.8 $Rb^+$ ions are found opposite 6-rings on threefold axes in the large cavity, and ca. 2.5 $Rb^+$ ions are found on three fold axes in the sodalite unit. Also, Ag species are found at two different crystallographic sites; ca. 0.6∼1.0 $Ag^+$ ion lies opposite 4-rings and about 1.8∼4.2 Ag atoms are located near the center of the large cavity. In these structures, the numbers of Ag atoms per unit cell are 1.8, 3.0, and 4.2, respectively, and these are likely to form hexasilver clusters at the centers of the large cavities. The $Rb^+$ ions, by blocking 8-rings, may have prevented silver atoms from migrating out of the structure. Each hexasilver cluster is stabilized by coordination to 6-ring, 8-ring $Rb^+$ ions, and also by coordination to a 4-ring $Ag^+$ ion.

  • We studied a fine-scale half ring-like structure around a pore seen from the high spectral and the high spatial resolution data. Our observations were carried out using the Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph (FISS) and the InfraRed Imaging Magnetograph (IRIM) installed at the 1.6 meter New Solar Telescope of Big Bear Solar Observatory (BBSO) on 2012 July 19. During the observations, we found a fine-scale half ring-like structure located very close to a pore (~0.4 arcsec apart from the pore). It was seen in the far wing images of the $H{\alpha}$ and Ca II $8542{\AA}$ lines, but it was not seen in the line center images of two lines. The length of the structure is about 4200 km and the width is about 350 km. We determined its line-of-sight velocity using the Doppler shift of the centroid of the Ti II line ($6559.6{\AA}$, close to the $H{\alpha}$ line) and determined horizontal velocity using the NAVE method. we also investigated the magnetic configurations using the Stokes I, Q, U, and V maps of the IRIM. As a results, we found that it has a high blue-shift velocity (~2km) faster than the photospheric features and has a strong horizontal component of the magnetic field. Based on our findings, we suggest that it is associated with small flux emergence, which occurs very close to the pore. Even though it is very small structure, this kind of magnetic configuration can be in chare of the upper chromosphere heating, especially above the pore.

  • The structure of partially $Ag^+$-exchanged zeolite 4A, $Ag_{7.6}Na_{4.4}-A$, vacuum dehydrated at $370^{\circ}C$, has been determined by single-crystal x-ray diffraction techniques in the cubic space group, Pm3m (a = 12.311(1)${\AA}$) at $24(1)^{\circ}}C$. The structure was refined to the final error indices $R_1$ = $R_2$ (weighted) = 0.064 using 266 independent reflections for which $I_0$>$3{\sigma}(I_0)$. Three $Na^+$ ions occupy the 3 8-ring sites, and the remaining ions, 1.4 $Na^+$ and 6.6 $Ag^+$, fill the 8 6-ring sites; each $Ag^+$ ion is nearly in the [111] plane of its 3 O(3) ligands, and each $Na^+$ ion is 0.9${\AA}$ from its corresponding plane, on the large-cavity side. One reduced silver atom per unit cell was found inside the sodalite unit. It was presumably formed from the reduction of a $Ag^+$ ion by an oxide ion of a residual water molecule or of the zeolite framework. It may be present as a hexasilver cluster in 1/6 of the sodalite units, or, most attractively among several alternatives, as an isolated Ag atom coordinated to 4 Ag ions in each sodalite unit to give $(Ag_5)^{4+}$, symmetry 4mm.

  • The focus of this investigation is to evaluate the effect of joining parameter on the microstructure and mechanical properties of welds produced by friction stir lap welding. The dissimilar Al alloys, KS5J32 and AA6K31, were joined by friction stir lap welding technique under several welding conditions, and KS5J32 alloy was placed on the top of AA6K31 alloy. The tool rotation speeds were 1000, 1250, and 1500rpm, and the welding speeds were 100, 300, 500, 700mm/min, respectively. The results showed that two shapes of nugget, such as onion ring and irregular vortex type, were observed with various revolutionary pitch. In all welding conditions, fracture occurred at the soften region of bottom sheet(AA6K31) and the strengths were 64~78% of those of base metal. Fractured positions were classified into three types : HAZ, triple point, void depending on the revolutionary pitch. The actual thickness of specimen at the fractured location was decreased with decreasing heat input. A linear relationship exists between the effective thickness of fractured position and peak load.

  • Cholesteryl pentanoate $(C_{32}O_2H_{54})$ is orthorhombic, space group $P2_12_12_1$, with a = 21.930(3), b = 21.404(3), c = 6.419(5) $\AA$, Z = 4, V = 3012.8(5)$\AA$$^3$, $D_c$ = 1.04 g$cm^{-3}$, ${\lambda}(Mo\; K{\alpha}$ = 0.71069 $\AA$, $\mu$ = 0.58 $cm^{-1}$, F(000) = 1048, T = 298, R = 0.086 for 1502 unique observed reflections with I > 1.0 $\sigma$ (I). The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by cascade diagonal least-squares refinement. The C-H bond lengths and the methyl groups are fixed and refined as their ideal geometry. A comparison with other cholesteryl esters gives normal structure for the tetracyclic ring, while the tail regions of the side chain and the ester group which stands on end, show a variation from their normal values, presumably due to thermal effects. The molecules are stacked together by non-bonded van der Waals forces with the shortest intermolecular distance of 3.529 $\AA$.

  • Two crystal structures of ethylene (a= 12.272(2) ${\AA}$) and acetylene (a = 12.245(2) ${\AA}$) sorption complexes of dehydrated fully $Ca^{2+}$-exchanged zeolite A have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction techniques in the cubic space group, Pm3m at $21(1)^{\circ}C$. Their complexes were prepared by dehydration at $360^{\circ}C$ and $2{\times}10^{-6}$ Torr for 2 days, followed by exposure to 200 Torr of ethylene gas and 120 Torr of acetylene gas both at $24^{\circ}C$, respectively. The structures were refined to final R (weighted) indices of 0.062 with 209 reflections and 0.098 with 171 reflections, respectively, for which I > 3${\sigma}$(I). The structures indicate that all six $Ca^{2+}$ ions in the unit cell are associated with 6-oxygen ring of the aluminosilicate framework. Four of these extend somewhat into the large cavity where each is coordinated to three framework oxide ions and an ethylene molecule and/or an acetylene molecule. The carbon to carbon distance in ethylene sorption structure is 1.48(7) ${\AA}$ and that in acetylene sorption structure 1.25(8) ${\AA}$. The distances between $Ca^{2+}$ ion and carbon atom are 2.87(5) ${\AA}$ in ethylene sorption structure and 2.95(7) ${\AA}$ in acetylene sorption structure. These bonds are relatively weak and probably formed by the electrostatic attractions between the bivalent $Ca^{2+}$ ions and the polarizable ${\pi}$-electron density of the ethylene and/or acetylene molecule.

  • The crystal structure of (1,3,6,9,11,14-hexaazatricycol[12.2.1.$1^{6,9}$]octadecane)copper(Ⅱ) perchlorate, Cu($C_{12}H_{26}N_6$)$(ClO_4)_2$, has been determined by the X-ray diffraction methods. The crystal data are as follows: Mr=516.9, triclinic, ${\alpha}=8.572\;(2)$, b=8.499 (3), c=15.204 (3) ${\AA}$, ${\alpha}=80.42\;(5),\;{\beta}=73.57\;(3),\;{\gamma}=69.82\;(4)^{\circ},\;V=994.2\;{\AA}^3,\;D_C=1.726\;gcm^{-3}$, space group $P{\tilde{1}},\;Z=2,\;{\mu}=21.27\;cm^{-1}&, F(000)=534 and T=297 K. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least-squares methods to and R value of 0.081 for 1608 observed reflections measured with graphite-mono-chromated Mo Ka radiation on a diffractometer. There are two independent complexes in the unit cell. The two copper ions lie at the special positions (1/2, 0, 0) and (0, 1/2, 1/2)and each complex possesses crystallographic center of symmetry. Each Cu ion is coordinated to four nitrogen donors if the hexaazamacrotricyclic ligand and weakly interacts with two oxygen atoms of the perchlorate ions to form a tetragonally distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The Cu_N (sec), Cu_N(tert) and Cu_O coordination distances are 1.985 (14), 2.055 (14) and 2.757 (13) ${\AA}$ for the complex A and 1.996 (10), 2.040 (11) and 2.660 (13) ${\AA}$ for the complex B, respectively. The macrocycles in the two independent cations assume a similar conformation with the average r.m.s. deviation of 0.073 ${\AA}$. Two 1,3-diazacyclopentane ring moieties of the hexaazamacrotricyclic ligand are placed oppositely and almost perpendicularly to the square coordination plane of the ruffled 14-membered macrocycle. The secondary N atoms are hydrogen-bonded to the perchlorate O atoms with distances of 3.017 (23) and 3.025 (19) ${\AA}$ for the complexes A and B, respectively.

  • The crystal stucture of hexapotassium undecahydrogen tetratungsto hexaantimonate(V) tetrahydrate has been determined from single crystal X-ray diffraction data. Crystal data are as follows: $K_6H_{12}[Sb_6W_4O_{36}]{\cdot}4H_2O$, Fw = 2360.62, tetragonal, I$4_1$/a, a = 10.799(1) ${\AA}$, c = 35.244(5) ${\AA}$, V = 4110.1(7) ${\AA}^3$, Z = 4, $D_x$ = 3.82 g$cm^{-3}$, $\mu(MoK\alpha)$ = 160.15 $cm^{-1}$, T = 293 K, final R = 0.0356 for 2400($F_0 > 3\sigma(F_0))$ independent reflections. The $[H_{12}Sb_6W_4O_{36}]^{-6}$ polyanion independently consists of one tungsten, two antimony, and nine oxygen atoms and belongs to the $\bar4(S_4)$ point group.
