Machine Tool Error Compensation by using Measuring Plates (측정플레이트를 이용한 공작기계 오차보정)

  • Thermal deformation causes large amount of machine tool errors. In order to compensate for thermal and geometric errors of the machine tool an off-line geometric adaptive control (GAC) scheme was developed. THe GAC method was realized by using a measuring plate made of precision spheres. Error vectors and volumetric errors were measured by the measuring plate. Error compensation models were obtained from error vectors and a kinematic chain of machine tools. Reliability of the GAC system of thermal and geometric errors were confrimed by large amount of experiments.

  • In this paper, a computer simulation tool for evaluting integrated engine/transmission control system using MATLAB/SIMULINK is investigated. Since a modular programming technique based upon the object-oriented programming is used in the paper, the simulation tool developed reduces the burden of model complexity by dividing engine/transmission systems into hierarchical subsystem. Furthermore, it also provides user -friendly, reusable, and upgradable characteristics of the system. The simulation tool could be useful to the automotive engineers who frequently change models and develop new systems in the automotive powertrain and control area.

  • Case hardening of tool steel(SK5) was investigated after YAG laser irradiation. In the case of beam passes, martensite formed in the melt zone and in former pearlite regions of the austenization zone exhibited very high Vickers Hardness values. The molten depth and radius, micro structure, hardness were investigated as a function of defocusing distance, pulse width, and power density.

  • Due to increasing demand toward improving product quality, various methodologies have been introduced. A brush type grinding tool is one of the most frequently used one to facilitate required process. In order to produce consistent burr shape, various machining conditions have been combined applied to disk grinding process. It has been observed that the burr dimension(shape and width) depends on the inclination angle between grinding disk and workpiece. Drastic increase of tool Wear has been also observed along the inclination angle variation. Various burr shapes have been captured and analyzed using image processing technique.

  • Diverse researches are working moving objects. The most important activities in a moving object database system are query and analysis of spatio -temporal data providing decision-making and problem solving support. Traditional spatial database query language and tools are inappropriate of the real world entities. This paper presents a spatio-temporal query and analysis tool with visual environment. It provides effective, interactive and user-friendly as well as statistic analysis. The moving objects database system stores plentiful moving objects data and performs spatio-temporal and nonspatio-temporal queries.

  • 본 연구에는 임상병리과의 자동화 검사기기와 컴퓨터간의 데이터 인터페이스용 Case-Tool을 구현하기 위한 통신 규약과 검사결과의 보관과 출력을 위한 데이터 베이스를 구성하였다. Case Tool의 주 처리 모듈은 Microsoft 사의 Visual C++ 2.1을 이용하여 프로그램하여 GUI 환경에서 구현되도록 하였으며, Borland사의 Delphi를 데이터베이스 관리도구로 이용하고 보고서 작성 및 출력은 Delphi에 내장된 Report Smith를 이용하였다. 구현된 Case-Tool은 임상병리과 검사기기의 특성에 관한 몇가지 규약을 조정하면 외부 컴퓨터와의 통신을 간단히 할 수 있었다. 또한, 임상병리과 정보시스템에서 일반적으로 많이 쓰이는 장비들을 선정하고 이들의 공통점과 차이점을 비교, 검토하여 Case-Tool의 유용성을 보였다.

  • The formed tool is used to machine the unique shape of rubber seal for geometrical shaping and reduction of cutting time. The bearing rubber seal produced by hot press forming has complex geometry for the complex geometrical shape to prevent leakage of lubricant oil and influx of the dust effectively. Because it is difficult to machine the unique shape exactly by the conventional tool, the formed tool is used in machining mold of the seal. In this paper, It is performed for selection of the formed tool to investigate cutting edge wear, cutting force, and surface quality. Also, an efficient high precision machining is proposed on the experiment data.

  • As the machine tool industry progresses, the performance of cutting tools also needs to be of good quality and specialized. If the existing metal cutting tool tip is coated properly, its life would be longer and the machining of a difficult-to-cut material also could be possible. For the development of the high quality cutting tool, the applicabilities of TiAIN coating deposited by PVD on the cutting insert were experimentally investigated. The various measurements, such as, SEM micrograph, XRD pattern, AFM surface morphology, and hardness were performed to cross-check the possibility and availability of TiAIN coated tool in the field. The effects of it is successful and we hope to see good results in many fields.

  • Ball end milling process is widely used in the die and mould manufacturing because of suitableness for the machining of free form surface. But, as ball end mill is long and thin, it is easily deflected by cutting force. In this study, Cutting force, tool deflection and surface precision was measured according to the change of depth and cutting location. Cutting force was acquired with tool dynamometer and a couple of eddy-current sensor measured tool deflection in x-y direction each. After machining, surface precision was measured with roundness tester and coordination measuring machine for sculptured surface angle change and cutting depth.

  • This paper is estimated to enhance yield improvement and device reliability using PDM(plasma damage monitoring) system capable of in-suit detection about plasma nonuniformity. PDM Tool is the non-contact method of wafer and surface potential electrode(kelvin probe). Its tool measures Vox(oxide barrier) with charge created by plasma. It's possible to inspect the wafer damage generated by plasma charge and analysis of in-situ monitoring data. we obtained the good data which is continuously prevented from plasma damage using its tool for 10weeks. This tool is contributed to preventive steps contemporaneously inspecting the difference of inter-chamber.
