디자인.미학 및 뷰티 분야를 중심으로 본 국내 남성 패션 연구동향 (Analysis of Articles on Design.Aesthetics and Beauty Aspects in Domestic Men's Fashion)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate trend of articles on men's fashion in Korea as seen through clothing-related academic journals from 1990 to 2009. For a total of 478 research papers on men's fashion published in 18 clothing-specialized learned society journals, which are KCI-cited journals or candidates thereof The results were as follows: First, With respect to the number of papers on men's fashion from 1990 to 2009, that of the 2000s rapidly increased to 5.2 times that of the 1990s. Second, The number of each area research was ranked aw follows: social psychology marketing 34.1%(163), clothing construction 32.2%(154), design aesthetics 19.7%(94), beauty 7.7%(37), history of clothing 4.8%(23), textile science 1.5%(7.7). Third, Studies on the aesthetics in men's fashion showed a steady increase from 1995, resulting in the number of papers in the 2000s being 12 times that of the 1990s. And, in the 2000s, the subjects explored in the 1990s, such as feminization of men's clothes, gender images, men's suit, etc. were deepened and expanded.

Characterization of 7S and 11S Globulins in Soybean Varieties Differing in Seed Size and Their Effects on the Properties of Soybean Curd

  • The ratio between 11S Sand 7S globulins was greater in large seed size varieties (LSSVs) of soybean than in small seed size varieties (SSSVs) or medium seed size varieties (MSSVs) but did not differ between MSSVs and SSSVs. The cysteine and methionine contents of 11S globulins were greater than those of total seed proteins and 7S globulins. The acidic monoamino monocarboxylic amino acids were the most abundant class of amino acid in soybean seed (27.2%) and soybean curd protein (29.3%). Isolated 7S and 11S fractions were analyzed by HPLC. Of the 12 peaks detected, 4 constituted 64.1% of the proteins of the SSSVs, 65.6% of the proteins of the MSSVs, and 70.5% of the proteins of the LSSVs. The 11S/7S globulin ratio was related to the yield and hardness of soybean curd. The MSSVs had the greatest yield of soybean curd, but the soybean curd hardness of the MSSVs was greater than that of the SSSVs. These results show that the 11S/7S ratio and color of soybean seeds can be used to predict the yield, hardness, and color of soybean curd.

Variations in Seed Storage Protein among Different Colored Soybean Varieties

  • This study was carried out to know the variation of soybean seed proteins, 11S and 7S globulins, and their amino acid compositions among different colored soybean varieties, 'Danbaegkong' (yellow), 'Pureunkong' (green) 'Jinyulkong' (brown), and 'Geoumjeongkong l' (black). Soybean seed proteins showed a wide range in molecular size, but the electrophoresis patterns of total seed protein subunits showed a similarity among different colored soybean varieties. Amino acid compositions of total seed proteins were similar for all soybean varieties tested. However, soybean varieties showed low composition rates in sulfur containing amino acids. The composition rates of cysteine and methionine in the 11S globulins were higher than those of total seed proteins and 7S globulins. Glutamic acid and glycine were higher in the 11S and 7S globulins than those of total seed proteins. However, the levels of methionine and phenylalanine are high in the 11S globulins, but those of valine and lysin are slightly lower than the 7S globulins. By using HPLC, we tried to analyse the soybean seed proteins. The 11S globulin was composed of 10 major peaks whereas the 7S globulin was composed of 4 major peaks. The composition rates of 11S related proteins have a tendency to increasing during the maturing whereas those of 7S related proteins have a tendency to decreasing. Composition rates of each peaks among different colored soybean varieties suggested that soybean seed proteins are varied, although they showed similarity in the electrophoresis patterns, and understanding of this characteristics is important for the utilization of soybeans.

Novel Anthracene Derivatives Isolated from Rice Hulls of Oryza sativa and Their Growth Inhibitory Activity of Radish Seed

  • Three new compounds orizaanthracenol (1-methoxyanthracen-2-ol, 1), 1-hydroxy-7-((2S,3R,4R,5S)-2'',3'',4''-trihydroxy-5''-(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-1-yloxy)anthracen- 2-yl 3',7'-dimethyloctanoate (2) and 1-hydroxy-7-((2S,3R,4R,5S)-2'',3'',4''-trihydroxy-5''-(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-1-yloxy)anthracen- 2-yl 3',7',11',15',19'-pentamethyltricosanoate (3) have been isolated and determined from the rice hulls of Oryza sativa. The structures of the compounds were elucidated using 1D and 2D NMR spectral methods, viz: 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, DEPT, COSY and HSQC, and HMBC aided by IR, EIMS and FAB-MS. These isolated compounds were tested in bioassay on germination of radish to detect their inhibitory activities, in which compound 1 exhibited the most inhibition at the concentration of 40 ppm was 50.96% of total dry weight. Furthermore, germination and growth of radish were reduced by 27 to 48%, and dry weight of shoot and root were arranged from 50 to 52%, whilst compounds 2 and 3 exhibited weak inhibition than 1.

Variation of 7S and 11S Seed Protein Concentrations in Different Food Types of Soybean Seed

  • Soybean varieties derived from Korea are classified into four groups on the basis of their food types such as soybeans for vegetable, sprout, sauce and paste and soybeans with colored seed coat. This study was carried out to know the differences in storage protein concentrations among these four groups. There were differences in storage protein concentrations among four groups. In 7S protein, the $\alpha$'-and $\alpha$-subunit concentrations did not vary among four groups, while a $\beta$-subunit concentration greatly varied. 7S protein concentration was the highest(40.6%) in soybean for sauce and paste and the lowest(37.7%) in soybean for vegetable, while 11S protein concentration was the highest (62.3%) in soybean for vegetable and the lowest (59.4%) in soybean for sauce and paste. In view of the fact that 11S protein has much higher sulfur containing amino acids than 7S protein, it was shown the soybeans for vegetable may have higher nutrition value than other groups.

잣 수확의 기계화 연구(III) -원형톱에 의한 잣나무 가지의 절단에 소요되는 동력- (Mechanization of Pine Cone Harvest(III) -Power Requirements to Cut Shoots of Korean Pine Trees by Circular Saw-)

  • In this study power requirements to saw shoots with circular saw were determined by measuring and analyzing the required maximum torque to provide the information for the mechanization of Korean pine cone harvest. Two levels of feed rate of shoots, 10.4mm/s and 20.8mm/s, three levels of sawing speed 5.8㎧, 11.6㎧, and 17.4㎧, and 14 levels of shoot diameter from 7.7 to 18.1mm were used as variables. 1) The maximum torques were significantly affected by all three variables. The average maximum torque, 18.2 N-cm for feed rate of 20.Bmm/s was greater as much as 80% of 10.1 N-cm for feed rate of 10.4mm/s. 2) As the sawing speed was increased from 5.8㎧ to 11.6㎧ and 17.4㎧, the maximum torques were decreased to 14.8N-cm, 8.5N-cm, and 7.IN-cm, respectively when the feed rate was 10.4mm/s. The maximum torque ranged from 4.5 to 19.3N-cm as shoot diameter increased from 7.7 to 18.1mm. The minimum power requirements to saw shoots of 18.1mm with circular saw was 30W for the feed rate of 10.4mm/s. 3) The maximum torques were 28.6N-cm, 14.6N-cm, and 11.4N-cm when sawing speeds were 5.8㎧, 11.6㎧, and 17.4㎧, respectively when the feed rate was 20.8mm/s and these torques were increased as much as 93%, 36%, and 61% of those for the feed rate of 10.4mm/s. The maximum torque increased from 9.7N-cm to 30.7N-cm as shoot diameter increased from 7.7 to 18.1mm. The minimum power requirements to saw shoots of 18.1mm was 54W which was 1.8 times of 30W for the feed rate of 10.4mm/s.

축산폐수에서 분리된 질소 산화균에 의한 축산 폐수의 질산화

  • 축산폐수에서 분리된 세균 S. sp1(S. capitis)와 S. sp2(3. xylosus)를 이용한 축산폐수 중 질소화합물 분해정도를 파악한 결과 1) 증식에 알맞은 조건은 LB broth, $27^{\circ}C$, pH7로 나타났다. 2) S. sp1은 배양 7일 초기 농도의 90.3%, 7일째 32.9%로 감소되어 14일까지 다소 증가하면서 유지되었다. 3) S. sp1과 S. sp2를 혼합배양한 결과 S. sp1과 S. sp2 단독배양보다 분해 효율이 높고 기간도 2일정도 단축되었다.

구강에서 분리한 E. durans의 S. mutans와 S. oralis에 대한 작용 (INTERACTION OF ORAL ENTEROCOCCUS DURANS WITH STREPTOCOCCUS MUTANS AND STREPTOCOCCUS ORALIS)

  • 장구균은 사람의 구강, 질, 장내 등에 정상적으로 존재하는 세균이다. 본 연구에서는 구강에서 분리된 장구균중 Enterococcus durans로 동정된 분리균주 4주의 특성과 구강내 주요 세균인 Streptococcus mutans와 Streptococcus oralis와의 관계를 연구하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 분리균주에 대한 당 발효 검사와 생화학적 검사 결과, 비슷한 양상을 보였다. 2. 분리균주 모두 erythromycin, penicillin, tobramycin, ampicillin, teicoplanin, ciprofloxacin, vancomycin. gentamicin, kanamycin 및 streptomycin에 대해 감수성을 보였다. 3. S. mutans를 일회용 큐벧에서 단독 배양시 550 nm에서의 흡광도가 1.405이었으나. S. mutans와 4주의 분리균주 혼합 배양시에는 각각의 흡광도가 0.855, 0.867, 0.797, 1.083으로 감소되었다. 4. 비커 와이어 검사 결과, S. mutans 단독 배양시 형성된 인공치태의 평균 무게는 $1566{\pm}103mg$이었다. S. mutans와 4주의 분리균주 혼합 배양시에는 각각 $44{\pm}5mg,\;41{\pm}12mg,\;34{\pm}7mg,\;38{\pm}12mg$으로 현저히 감소되었다. 배양후 생균수는 S. mutans 단독 배양시 ml당 $2.0\times10^9$ 이었으나, S. mutans와 4주의 분리균주 혼합 배양시 S. mutans는 $2.0\times10^7$ 내지 $6.0\times10^7$으로 감소되었다. 5. S. oralis 단독 배양시 ml당 $2.1\times10^8$ 이었으나, S. oralis와 4주의 분리균주 혼합 배양시 S. oralis는 $1.4\times10^7$ 내지 $7.0\times10^7$으로 감소되었다. 6. 3주의 분리균주로 부터 약 60 kb의 plasmid를 분리 할 수 있었다. 이상의 결과를 종합하면 구강에서 분리된 E. durans는 S. mutans의 증식을 억제하여 인공치태 형성을 저지하였고, S. oralis의 증식은 약간 억제하였다.

A report of eight unrecorded UV-resistant bacterial species in Korea isolated in 2018

  • Eight bacterial strains, 18JY8-13, 18JY13-16, 18JY43-7, 18JY12-7, 18JY1-1, 18JY1-7, 18JY15-3, and 18JY7-2 assigned to the phylum Firmicutes were isolated from a variety of soil samples collected in the Jeju Island, Korea. Cells of the eight strains were Gram-positive, aerobic and showed resistant to UV-radiation. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that strains 18JY8-13, 18JY13-16, 18JY43-7, 18JY12-7, 18JY1-1, 18JY1-7, 18JY15-3, and 18JY7-2 were most closely related to Bacillus paranthracis(99.9%), Bacillus paramycoides(99.6%), Bacillus australimaris(99.9%), Bacillus wiedmannii (100%), Bacillus halosaccharovorans(99.6%), Bacillus deserti(98.7%), Bacillus cereus (99.8%), and Bacillus albus(100%), respectively. This is the first report of these eight species in Korea.

Neurospora crassa 유전자에 의한 Saccharomyces cerevisiae coq7 돌연변이의 회복 (Restoration of Saccharomyces cerevisiae coq7 Mutant by a Neurospora crassa Gene)

  • Coenzyme Q은 긴 isoprenoid 사슬을 갖는 quinone의 유도체이다. Coenzyme Q는 진핵생명체의 미토콘드리아의 내막과 원핵생명체의 세포막에 위치하는 전자전달계에 존재하는 지용성 물질이며, 또한 항산화제로의 기능도 갖는다. Coenzyme Q는 Saccharomyces cerevisiae의 호기적 성장에 필수적이며, coq 돌연변이체는 발효가 불가능한 탄소 원에서의 성장이 불가능하다. S. cerevisiae의 $coq^7$p 효소들과 유사성을 나타내는 단백질을 암호화하는 Neurcspora crassa cDNA를 효모의 발현 벡터에 삽입하였다. N. crassa COQ7의 예상 서열은 S. cerevisiae의 효소와 58% homology를 보였다. N. crassa $coq^{-7}$ 유전자의 S. cerevisiae $coq^7$ 형질전환체는 야생형 균주와 유사한 성장률을 보였다. 형질전환 균주들은 발효가 불가능한 탄소원인 글리세롤을 유일한 탄소원으로 배양하였을 경우에도 정상적인 성장을 나타냈다. 또한 불포화지방산인 linolenic acid를 성장 배지에 첨가하여도 야생형 균주와 유사한 생존율이 관찰되었다.
