Bone morphogenetic protein-7 (BMP-7) is one of important growth factors for skeletal development and bone growth. In this work, BMP-7 was efficiently expressed in recombinant Bacillus subtilis. The mature BMP-7 protein indicated molecular weight of 15.4 kDa by Western blot assay and was secreted into culture medium with 0.35 ng/mL. The extracellular and intracellular rhBMP-7 proteins were purified by using a FPLC system with an ion exchange column and a gel filtration column. The extracellular and intracellular rhBMP-7 proteins had finally a 57.1% purity and a 36.2% purity, respectively. The purified rhBMP-7 proteins showed an intact biological activity which stimulated alkaline phophatase (ALP) activity in MC3T3-E1 cells.

Previous studies suggest that EphA7 plays a critical role in neural tube closure or cortical progenitor apoptosis. In this report, enhancer trap assay was used to modify various EphA7 BAC clones and screen a large genomic region spanning 570 kb downstream of the EphA7 gene. We found that the dorsal midline-specific EphA7 enhancer resides on the 457D20 EphA7 BAC clone and is localized to a 35 kb genomic region in between +345.7 kb to +379.8 kb downstream of the EphA7 transcription start site. Identification of the EphA7 BAC clone containing a long-range dorsal midline enhancer may constitute a useful tool for investigating the biological functions of EphA7 in vivo.

In pthis aper, mathematical terms in 7th elementary mathematics curriculum(from now, in short, 7th curriculum)are reexamined critically. In 7th curriculum there are 123 terms, which seems to be selected cautiously But it is not sure. There are lots of evidences for selecting terms incautiously, Through these evidences, following conclusions are induced: (1) Terms were not selected strictly. There are many terms omitted in 7th curriculum, which are necessary for understanding mathematical concepts. (2) There were no rational principles for selecting terms in 7th curriculum. Any rational principles can not be found out among terms in 7th curriculum. (3) Mathematical terms and real life terms in 7th curriculum were not distinguished explicitly. There were some real life terms in 7th curriculum, which were significant for understanding mathematical concepts. But other real life terms which is significant also for understanding mathematical concepts were not contained in 7th curriculum.

본 연구에서는 그 동안의 '7 시리즈 폴리리듬' 연구의 연장선상에서 폴리리듬 7 against 5를 다루려고 한다. 폴리리듬 7 against 5는 "기존의 5개의 동일한 길이의 음표가 진행하는 시간동안 7개의 동일한 길이의 음표(혹은 7개의 동일한 일련의 음표집합)가 동시에 연주되는 폴리리듬 이다"라고 간단히 설명할 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 폴리리듬 7 against 5 를 실제로 연주하는 것은 그 동안의 7 against 3나 7 against 4의 연구에서 살펴보았듯이 결코 쉽지 않다. 그러나 그 대략의 느낌이 어떠한 지는 본 연구에서 다루려고 하는 가상리듬을 통하여 알 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 7 against 5에 대한 간단한 가상리듬을 제시하고 그 의미와 새로운 가능성을 살펴보았다.

7-Aminocephalosporanic acid(7-ACA) was reacted with diphenyldiazomethane(DPM) to get diphenylmethyl 7-$\beta$-(O-ethylphthalimidomethylphosphony1)-3-acetoxymethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate. Diethyl phthalimidomethylphosphonate was chloridated with a slight excess of phosphorus pentachloride to the O-ethyl phthalimidoalkylphosphonochloridate. Previously unreported two compounds, diphenylmethy1 -7-$\beta$-(O-ethylphthalimidomethylphosphony1)-3-acetoxymethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate and diphenylmethyl-7-$\beta$-[O-ethylphthalimidoethylphosphonyl]-3-acetoxymethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate were synthesized by cupling reaction of DPM 7-ACA and O-ethyl phthalimidoalkylphosphonochloridate. All of the compounds including starting materials and reaction intermediates were characterized by $^1H$ NMR and FT-IR spectroscopy.

Electrical properties in the ZnO-Bi2O3-CoO-Zn7Sb2O12 system were investigated with Zn7Sb2O12 content (0.1~2 mol%). The increase of the Zn7Sb2O12 content inhibited the grain growth of ZnO, which showed a narrow grain size distribution of ZnO. The breakdown voltage (Vb) increased markedly with 1 mol% Zn7Sb2O12 addition due to the grain growth control behaviour of the Zn7Sb2O12 . The nonlinear I-V characteristic was significantly influenced by the Zn7Sb2O12 content (or Bi2O3/Zn7Sb2O12 ratio). Addition of 0.5 mol% Zn7Sb2O12 showed the highest nonlinear coefficient ($\alpha$) of 43. The leakage current in prebreakdown region was decreased with increasing Zn7Sb2O12 content.

The cis- and trans-diastereomers of the 7,8-dihydro-7-deazapurine derivatives were synthesized from the corresponding diastereomers of 4-tran5-cyano-2-methyl-3-phenyl-5-oxopyrrolidine (5), which were reduced from the 2-cis- and 2-tran5-diastereomers of 4-trans-cyano-2-hydroxymethyl-3-phenyl-5-oxopyrrolidine (2) via tosylation, iodination and following elimination respectively. The prepared cis- and ttans-diastereomers of 6-amino-2-mercapto-8-methyl-7-phenyl-7,8-dihydro-7(9H)-deazapurine (8) were transferred to the corresponding 2-methylthio-diastereomers 9 and following desulfurization with Raney-nickel leaded to the cis and trans-diastereomers of 6-amino-8-methyl-7-phenyl-7,8-dihydro-7(9H)-deazapurine (10), respectively. The synthesized 7-deazapurine derivatives were tested for their antibiotic activity by the serial two-fold dilution method.

The nucleotide sequence of Xbal-Mbol fragment of pKH7, a chloramphenicol-resistant($Cm^{r}$) plasmid isolated from multidrug-resistant S. aureus SA2, has been determined. Xbal-Mbol fragment of pKH7 was found to contain two ORFs. One ORF encoded Rap and the other encoded CAT protein. The deduced amino acid sequences of Rep and CAT of pKH7 were compared to those of pUB112 and pC221. Comparisons revealed that there was one amino acid difference in CAT between pKH7 and pUB112. CAT of pKH7 exhibited 98.6% amino acid identity to that of pC221. In case of Rep proteins, a slightly lower homology of 96.4% and 86.7% in amino acid sequences was observed between pKH7 and pUB112 and between pKH7 and pC221, respectively.

MPEG-7 based on XML represents various information of multimedia data's contents. and it support search and browsing by user's wants. But, MPEG-7 standard don't support retrieval method and Many XML Indexing is not compatible to retrieval MPEG-7 documents. So Much research activity and interest has emerged recently in retrieval MPEG-7 documents. In our paper, we suppose a hierarchical index based on MPEG-7 document's structural information, and review how to query processing based on high level feature description.

The synthesis of new 3-substituted 7-halocephalosporanates was described. 7-ACA was reacted with thiols at pH 6.5${\sim}$6.8 to afford the 3-substituted 7-ACA (1), which was treated with diphenyldiazomethane to give diphenylmethyl 7-aminocephalosporanate (2). The Halogenation of 7-aminocephalosporanate (2) with NaNO$_2$, KBr and H$_2$SO$_4$ gave 7-bro-mocephalosporanate (3) and with NaNO$_2$, HCI gave 7-chlorocephalosporanate (4). Diphenylmethyl cephalosporanate (2${\sim}$4) were deprotected by AIC1$_3$ in anisole and neutralized to give the sodium cephalosporanate (5${\sim}$7).
