For the design of synergistic hydraulic motion simulator, the load locus method is introduced. The given mass property of load and its velocity profile is resolved into the load locus of each actuator which decides the suitable valve and cylinder. This asymmtic cylinder and 4 way valve system have the pressure oscillation on zero velocity. The variable structure position controller which based on linearized flow equation makes elimination of the unstable pressure oscillation.
We propose an estimator design method of Stewart platform, which gives the 6DOF, positions and velcities of Stewart platform from the measured cylinder length. The solution of forward kinematics is not solved yet as a useful realtime application tool because of the complexity of the equation with multiple solutions. Hence we suggest an nonlinear estimator for the forward kinematics solution using Luenberger observer with nonlinear error correction term. But the way of residual gain selection of the estimator is not clear, so we suggest an algebraic Riccati equation for gain matrix using Lyapunov method. This algorithm gives the sufficient condition of the stability of error dynamics and can be extended to general nonlinear system.

This study is proposed to develop a numerical interaction model of the magnetically levitated(maglev) train and guideway. For this purpose, equation of motion for 6-DOF vehicle model, EMS, guideway and guideway irregularity are derived as the state-space equation. In order to solve the state space equations, the present work was performed via matlab simulation using Runge-Kutta method. Through the simulation, the effect of dynamic response of maglev system to different vehicle speeds, guideway rigidity(EI) and masses is investigated.

This paper presents a method for designing an autopilot of the BTT missile using 2DOF Wiener-Hopf control technique to improve tracking performance. Linear controllers are designed based on the linearized models which are obtained from the nonlinear missile dynamic equations at various operating points. The gain scheduling technique is used to implement the final autopilot. A simulation on the flight of missiles is carried out through the use of 6DOF equation program including exact nonlinear equations of the missile and the variations of aerodynamic variables in order to check applicability of the suggested method in real situation.

When a planing hull straightly runs and turns, its floating position and pitch angle are changed depending on its speed, and large transient motion happens. In this paper, six degrees of freedom(6 DOF) equations of motion, which could simulate the motion of a planing hull, are established. Static and dynamic forces in vertical plane are modeled using pre-calculated displacements and metacentric heights depending on various draft, lift under bottom, and vertical damping coefficients which are used to tune the final motion. Hydrodynamic coefficients in horizontal plane at various equilibrium state are calculated by using Lewandowski's empirical formula and the speed-dependent equilibrium state are calculated beforehand by Savitsky's formula. The speed effects are considered by curve-fitting the coefficients at various speed to the polynomials. Accelerating, decelerating and backing, turning, and zig-zag are simulated and compared with the sea trial results, and it is confirmed that the speed reduction, roll, and pitch during such maneuvers of sea trial and simulation are well consistent.

This parer describes the tracking control simulation of 6-DOF shaking table with a bell crank structure, which converts the direction of reciprocating movements. For the Joint coordinate-based control which uses lengths of each actuator, the trajectory conversion process inverse kinematics is performed. Applying the Newton-Euler approach, the dynamic equation of the shaking table is derived. To cope with nonlinear problems, time-delay control(TDC) is considered, which has been noted for its exceptional robustness to parameter uncertainties and disturbance, in addition to steady-state accuracy and computational efficiency. If the nominal model is equal to the real system, joint coordinate-based control can be very efficient. However, manufacturing tolerances installation errors and link offsets contaminate the nominal values of the kinematic parameters used in the kinematic model of the shaking table. To compensate differences between the nominal model and the real system. the joint coordinate-based control using acceleration feedback in the Cartesian coordinate space is proposed.

A model helicopter has more versatile flight capability than the fixed-wing aircraft and it can be used as an unmaned vehicle in hazardous area. A helicopter, similar to other aircrafts, is an unstable, multi-input multi-output nonlinear system exposed to strong disturbance. So it should be controlled by robust control theories that can be applied to multivariable systems. In this study, motion equations of hovering are established, linearized and transformed into a state equation form. Various parameters are measured and calculated in other to obtain the stability derivatives in the state equation. Hovering flight controller is designed using the digital LQG/LTR(Linear Quadratic Gaussian/Loop Transfer Recovery) control theory. The designed controller is tested by the nonlinear simulations and implemented on an IBM-PC/386. Experiments were carried out on a model helicopter attached to the 3-DOF gimbal. The designed controller showed satisfactory hovering capability to maintain the hovering for more than 40 seconds.

Pose estimation is an important operation for many vision tasks. This paper presents a method of estimating the camera pose, using a known landmark for the purpose of autonomous vertical takeoff and landing(VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) landing. The proposed method uses a distinctive methodology to solve the pose estimation problem. We propose to combine extrinsic parameters from known and unknown 3-D(three-dimensional) feature points, and inertial estimation of camera 6-DOF(Degree Of Freedom) into one linear inhomogeneous equation. This allows us to use singular value decomposition(SVD) to neatly solve the given optimization problem. We present experimental results that demonstrate the ability of the proposed method to estimate camera 6DOF with the ease of implementation.
The platform and floating structure of spar type offshore wind turbine systems should be designed in order for the 6-DOF motions to be minimized, considering diverse loading environments such as the ocean wave, wind, and current conditions. The objective of this study is to optimally design the platform and substructure of a 3MW spar type wind turbine system with the maximum postural stability in 6-DOF motions as well as the minimum material cost. Therefore, design variables of the platform and substructure were first determined and then optimized by a hydrodynamic analysis. For the hydrodynamic analysis, the body weight of the system was considered, and the ocean wave conditions were quantified to the wave forces using the Morison's equation. Moreover, the minimal number of computation analysis models was generated by the Design of Experiments (DOE), and the design variables of the platform and substructure were finally optimized by using a genetic algorithm with a neural network approximation.
This study investigates the free vibration and buckling analyses of isotropic curved plate structures fixed at all ends. The Kirchhoff-Love Plate Theory (KLPT) and Finite Element Method (FEM) are employed to model the curved structure. In order to perform the finite element analysis, a four-node quadrilateral element with 5 degrees of freedom (DOF) at each node is utilized. Additionally, the drilling effect (θz) is considered as minimal to satisfy the DOF of the structure. Lagrange's equation of motion is used in order to obtain the first ten natural frequencies and the critical buckling values of the structure. The effects of various radii of curvatures and aspect ratio on the natural frequency and critical buckling load values for the single-bay and two-bay curved frames are investigated within this scope. A computer code based on finite element analysis is developed to perform free vibration and buckling analysis of curved plate frames. The natural frequency and critical buckling load values of the present study are compared with ANSYS R18.2 results. It has been concluded that the results of the present study are in good agreement with ANSYS results for different radii of curvatures and aspect ratio values of both single-bay and two-bay structures.
