  • There are many statistical evaluation methods, A more technical Perspective is needed in estimating the effect of the Manufacturing Process for improving the Productivity, Process network analysis is a technique which has the potentiality for a wire use to improve the manufacturing process which other techniques can't be used to analyze effectively. The concept of six sigma plan was developed and pursued by Motorola to improve the process control. The goals of six sigma plan are established on the foundation of customer satisfaction such as Quality, Cost Delivery and Service This paper presents how to improve the manufacturing process by statistical process control for the evaluation of six sigma level.

프로젝트 위험관리강화를 통한 원가개선의 6시그마 사례 (A Case Study of Six Sigma Project for Reducing the Project Costs through Project Risk Management)

  • This paper considers a six sigma project for reducing the project costs through project risk management. The project follows a disciplined process of five phases: define, measure, analyze, improve, and control. A risk management process map is used to identify process input and output variables. Seven key process input variables are selected by using C&E diagram and X-Y matrix and finally four vital few input variables are selected by the related statistical analysis. The optimum alternatives of the vital few input variables are obtained by the method of PUGH matrix. The process is running on control plan and we obtained substantial project cost reductions in early stage of the control phase.

6시그마 기법을 통한 병원 급식 서비스 품질 개선 및 환자 만족도 향상 (The Improvement of Hospital Food Service in Quality and Customer Satisfaction by Using 6-sigma Strategy)

  • This study was performed to improve the hospital food service in quality and customer satisfaction by using 6-sigma strategy which was processed by DMAIC methods. The research procedure was as follows; analyzing the main causes of customer dissatisfaction of food service by using numerical method, and then finding out the standardized problem solving methods, and finally reforming food service process. The effectiveness of 6-sigma activity was measured by ‘food service quality index’, ‘customer satisfaction index’ and ‘total food service satisfaction index’. Food service quality index was calculated by adding grade of soup temperature, food service, delivery time, and setting accuracy. Statistical data analyses were completed by using the Minitab Ver. 14. By performing 6 sigma activity, food service quality index was increased from 67 to 79 points (p<0.05) and customer satisfaction index also rise from 73 to 79points (p<0.05). Satisfaction of meals’ taste, diverse menu, food setting accuracy, remove of food service, overall food service were significantly improved(p<0.05). The results of capability analysis in food service quality index, customer satisfaction index, and total food service satisfaction index were improved 2.11$\sigma$ to 2.49$\sigma$, 1.88$\sigma$ to 2.43$\sigma$, and 2.04$\sigma$ to 2.47$\sigma$ respectively (p<0.05). Therefore this study showed that subjective food service improving process could be measured by objective numerical value which might be used for financial value in hospital management.

한국 서비스산업의 6시그마 기법 시행과 그 성과에 관한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on Performance of Six Sigma Tools in Korean Service Industry)

  • Six sigma has been the most influential management innovation program since 1996 in Korea. As a result of successful implementation of 6 sigma, there have been a number of dramatic quality improvement cases. However, no empirical study of 6 sigma implementation study has done especially in the service industry of Korea. This article reviews status of finance companies which implemented 6 sigma programs in Korea and then demonstrates the relationship between 6 sigma problem solving tools such as analysis of variance and graph techniques, etc and project success and operational performance. Customer survey tools, process analysis, and documentation tool are identified as influential tools on project success. Tools of measure steps, customer survey tools, and documentation tool are found as influential tools on operational performance.

  • Purpose: This study proposes the application of Six Sigma management innovation method for more systematically enhanced execution of Quality by Design (QbD) activities. QbD requires a deeper understanding of the product and process at the design and development stage of the drug, and it is very important to ensure that no fault is fundamentally generated through thorough process control. Methods: Analyzing the background and specific procedures of quality improvement based on the drug design basis, and analyzing the key contents of each step, we have differentated and common points from the 6 Sigma methodology. We propose a new model of Six Sigma management innovation method suitable for pharmaceutical industry. Results: Regulatory agencies are demanding results from statistical analysis as a scientific basis in developing medicines to treat human life through quality improvement activities based on drug design. By utilizing the education system to improve the statistical analysis capacity in the Six Sigma activities and operating the 6 Sigma Belt system in conjunction, it helped systematically strengthen the execution power of quality improvement activities based on pharmaceutical design based on the members of the pharmaceutical industry. Conclusion: By using QbD Six Sigma, which combines quality enhancement based on pharmaceutical design basis and Six Sigma methodology suitable for pharmaceutical industry, it is possible to obtain satisfactory results both by pharmaceutical companies and regulators by using appropriate statistical analysis methods for preparing scientific evidence data required by regulatory.

  • Companies adopted a program called Six Sigma, in order to make fundamental changes in the way the company operated to fulfill customers' expectations. Six Sigma reduces the occurrence of defects. This approach derives the overall process of selection the right projects based on their potential to improve performance metrics and selection and training the right people to get the business results. However, in the course of Six Sigma process steps, companies are in the face of problems. This study is to solve the problems using TOC(Theory of Constrains). TOC is methodology for solving key problem in system which is called Constraints. Nowadays, its application is going to be wide and its concept is being implemented. In this paper, it is showed possibility of application TOC to Six Sigma.

게이트 도장 품질 개선을 위한 6시그마 프로젝트 사례 연구 (A Case Study of a Six Sigma Project for Improving Gate Painting Quality)

  • This paper presents a six sigma project for improving gate painting quality in a medium-sized automotive part company. The project follows a disciplined process of five macro phases: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. A CTQ(critical to quality) is determined based on COPQ(cost of poor quality) analysis, and a process map is utilized for identifying process input variables. Three KPIV s(key process input variable) are selected; Painting Temperature, Painting Quantity, and Painting Viscosity, and DOE(design of experiments) is utilized for finding the optimal process conditions for three KPIVs. MINITAB software is used for data analyses and DOE. The sigma level of defects rate has improved from 2.93 to 3.66.

  • Lean 6 sigma has recently been used to describe a management system which combines lean management and 6 sigma. The marriage between Lean manufacturing and 6 sigma has proven to be a powerful tool for cutting waste and improving the organization operations. Time and quality are the most important metrics in improving any company's production and profit performance. lean 6 sigma is a management innovation for improving production efficiency, process quality, cost reduction, investment efficiency and customer's satisfaction. in this paper, Advanced cell line is builded the home appliance goods of the LCD TV final assembly line of domestic company line, training the multi-skilled man and controlling the production information system based on Lean 6 sigma.

  • 최근 새롭게 6시그마를 도입한 기업과 이미 장기간 품질분임조 활동을 진행해 왔던 제조업체를 중심으로 기존의 분임조 활동을 어떻게 6시그마와 연계시킬 것인지에 대한 논의가 활발한 상황이다. 본 연구는 품질분임조 활동과 6시그마를 결합한 절차를 실제 생산 공정 문제에 적용하고 그 효과를 입증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 즉, 품질개선 활동의 단계적 절차를 수행함에 있어, 문제정의(Define), 측정(Measure), 분석(Analyze) 등의 초기 단계에서는 6시그마의 절차를, 개선(Improve)과 관리(Control)에 해당하는 후반부에서는 PDCA사이클을 중심으로 한 품질분임조 기법을 활용하였다. 특히 개선대상 과제(테마)를 선정함에 있어 계층의사결정(AHP)을 활용함으로써 보다 합리적인 의사결정을 추구하였으며, 실험계획법을 통해 공정 개선을 위한 최적의 대안을 선정하기도 하였다. 제안된 절차의 적용결과 불량률이 현저히 감소하고 상당한 비용절감의 효과가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 6시그마는 지난 20여 년간 제조 및 서비스 등의 산업에서 프로세스 개선을 위하여 꾸준히 적용되어왔다. 그럼에도 불구하고 6시그마는 Define 단계에서 의미있는 프로젝트를 계속 발굴하기 힘들고 Control 단계에서 지속적인 측정 및 통제가 쉽지 않다는 문제가 지적되었다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 개선 프로세스의 지속적인 통제와 관리를 원활히 할 수 있는 체계가 요구되며, 비즈니스 프로세스 관리(BPM) 시스템이 효과적 대안이 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 프로세스 운영 및 분석에서 누적된 데이터를 중심으로 지속적 프로세스 개선을 실현하기 위한 목적으로 6시그마와 BPM의 통합 모형을 제시하고, 프로젝트 수행을 위하여 상호 데이터기반으로 프로세스를 분석, 개선, 모니터링하는 과정을 설명한다. 이를 통하여 6시그마와 BPM의 장점을 결합하여, 지속적으로 업무를 개선하고 관리함으로써 전사적인 경영성과를 극대화할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
