  • On a compact n-dimensional manifold $M^n$, a critical point of the total scalar curvature functional, restricted to the space of metrics with constant scalar curvature of volume 1, satifies the critical point equation (CPE), given by $Z_g\;=\;s_g^{1\ast}(f)$. It has been conjectured that a solution (g, f) of CPE is Einstein. The purpose of the present paper is to prove that every compact stable minimal hypersurface is in a certain hypersurface of $M^n$ under an assumption that Ker($s_g^{1\ast}{\neq}0$).

  • We prove a fixed point theorem for generalized asymptotic pointwise nonexpansive mapping in the setting of a hyperbolic space. A one-step iterative scheme approximating common fixed point of two generalized asymptotic pointwise (quasi-) nonexpansive mappings in this setting is provided. We obtain ∆-convergence and strong convergence theorems of the iterative scheme for two generalized asymptotic pointwise nonexpansive mappings in the same setting. Our results generalize and extend some related results in the literature.

  • Matthews introduced the concepts of partial metric spaces and proved the Banach fixed point theorem in complete partial metric spaces. Dukic, Kadelburg, and Radenovic proved fixed point theorems for Geraghty-type mappings in complete partial metric spaces. In this paper, we prove the fixed point theorem for some contractive mapping in a complete partial metric space.

  • In this paper we prove common fixed point theorems for four mappings, under the condition of weakly compatible mappings in Menger spaces, without taking any function continuous. We improve results of [A common fixed point theorem for three mappings on Menger spaces. Math. Japan. 34 (1989), no. 6, 919-923], [On common fixed point theorems of compatible mappings in Menger spaces. Demonstratio Math. 31 (1998), no. 3, 537-546].

  • We study the existence and uniqueness of fixed point for isotone mappings of any number of arguments under Mizoguchi-Takahashi contraction on a complete metric space endowed with a partial order. As an application of our result we study the existence and uniqueness of the solution to integral equation. The results we obtain generalize, extend and unify several very recent related results in the literature.

  • In 2008, Al-Thaga and Shahzad [Generalized I-nonexpansive selfmaps and invariant approximations, Acta Math. Sinica, 24(5) (2008), 867-876] introduced the notion of occasionally weakly compatible mappings in metric spaces. In this paper, we prove some common fixed point theorems for families of occasionally weakly compatible mappings in Menger spaces using an implicit relation. We also give an illustrative example to support our main result.

  • We prove a theorem which shows the existence of at least three ${\pi}$-periodic solutions of the wave equation with asymptotical linearity. We obtain this result by the finite dimensional reduction method which reduces the critical point results of the infinite dimensional space to those of the finite dimensional subspace. We also use the critical point theory and the variational method.

  • Pajoohesh introduced the concept of k-metric spaces and Hiltzler and Seda defined the concept of metric-like spaces. Recently, Kopperman and Pajoohesh proved a fixed point theorem in complete k-metric spaces for a Lipschitz map with bound. In this paper, we prove a fixed point theorem in complete metric-like spaces for a Lipschitz map with bound.
