In this paper, we propose a wireless access network virtualization algorithm based on a digital unit (DU)-radio unit (RU) separated network structure in a cellular network with multiple radio access technologies (RATs). The proposed wireless access network virtualization algorithm consists of a baseline access network virtualization, RAT virtualization, and access path migration algorithms. Final wireless access network virtualization is performed by sequentially performing these procedures. Through system-level simulations which assume 3GPP LTE and WiMAX systems, the performance of the proposed wireless access network virtualization is evaluated in terms of system throughput for two scenarios according to asymmetry of network traffic load. Numerical results show that our proposed wireless access network virtualization algorithm achieves significant system throughput gain even in asymmetric traffic load and user distribution situations.

Current mobile communication system is in the mid-process of conversion from 4G LTE to 5G network. According to the generalization of mobile communication services, personal information such as user's identifiers and location information is transmitted through a mobile communication network. The importance of security technology is growing according to the characteristics of wireless mobile communication networks, the use of wireless shared channels is inevitable, and security technology cannot be applied to all network system elements in order to satisfy the bandwidth and speed requirements. In particular, for security threat analysis, researches are being conducted on various attack types and vulnerability analysis through rogue base stations or attacker UE to make user services impossible in the case of 5G networks. In this paper, we established a 5G network testbed using open sources. And we analyzed three security vulnerabilities related to NAS COUNT and confirmed the validity of two vulnerabilities based on the testbed or analyzing the 3GPP standard.

3GPP LTE-Advanced (Third Generation Partnership Project Long Term Evolution-Advanced) as a next generation mobile communication standard introduced small base stations such as femto cells or pico cells, and D2D (Device-to-Device) communications between mobiles in the proximity in order to satisfy the needs of rapidly growing wireless data traffic. A diverse range of topics has been studied to solve various interference situations which may occur within a single cell. In particular, an introduction of a small base station along with D2D communication raises important issues of how to increase the channel capacity and frequency efficiency in HetNets (Heterogeneous Networks). To this end, we propose in this paper methods to manage the interference between the macro cell and other small cells in the HetNet to improve the frequency efficiency. The proposed CCN (Cluster Coordinator Node)-assisted ICI (Inter-Cell Interference) avoidance methods exploit the CCN to control the interference in HetNet comprising of an MeNB (Macro enhanced Node-B) and a large number of small cells. A CCN which is located at the center of a number of small cells serves to avoid the interference between macro cell and small cells. We propose methods of resource allocation to avoid ICI for user equipments within the CCN coverage, and evaluate their performance through system-level computer simulations.
Recently, mobile positioning enhancement has attracted much attention in the 3rd generation partnership project long-term evolution system. In particular, for urban canyon environments, the need for three-dimensional (3D) positioning has increased to enable the altitude of users to be measured. For several decades, several time difference of arrival (TDOA-) based 3D positioning methods have been studied; however, they are only available when at least four evolved Node Bs (eNBs) exist nearby or when all eNBs have the same height. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new 3D positioning method that estimates the 3D coordinates of a user using three types of two-dimensional (2D) TDOAs. However, the give inaccurate results owing to the undefined axis of the 2D coordinate plane. Therefore, we propose a novel derivation of the hyperbola equation, which includes the undefined axis coordinate in the 2D hyperbola equation. Then, we propose an interaction algorithm that mutually supplies the undefined axis coordinate of users among 2D TDOAs. By performing extensive simulations, we verify that the proposed method is the only solution applicable by using three eNBs with different heights.

In the uplink of OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) based M-WiMAX(Mobile-Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) system, linear phase shift is caused by signals transmitted from multiuser with different delay time and thus, MAI (Multiple Access Interference) occurs. MAI degrades the performance of ranging code detection and delay time estimation in the uplink. Therefore, in this paper, we propose ranging algorithm, applying SIC (Successive Interference Cancellation) to the conventional ranging algorithm, to minimize MAI and to improve ranging performance. The proposed ranging algorithm is verified through the Monte Carlo simulation, which shows the improved performance of ranging code detection and delay time estimation compared to the conventional algorithms. Through compared with random access of the 3GPP LTE, we can know limit of ranging performance.

Cellular Network assisted device-to-device (D2D) communication has been growing to reduce the overload of eNodeB and mitigate the frequency shortage. However, by sharing the uplink frequency resource with the cellular network, the interference between cellular and D2D is increased. In this paper, we propose an advanced receiver for full suppression cancellation (FSC) to reduce the interference between cellular and D2D. The proposed receiver can suppress and cancel the interference by integrating the interference rejection combining (IRC) technique with successive interference cancellation (SIC). We perform a system level simulation based on the 20-MHz bandwidth of the 3GPP LTE-A system. Simulation results show that the proposed receiver can improve SINR, throughput and spectral efficiency compared to conventional receivers.

In this paper we presented 4G security models in an open environment. 4G networks have still more security holes and open issues for expert to notice. In here. we show that a number of new security threats to cause unexpected service interruption and disclosure of information will be possible in 4G due mainly to the fact that 4G is an IP-based, heterogeneous network. it tells about the security issues and vulnerabilities present in the above 4G standards.. we try to present several architectures behind 4G infrastructure for example WiMAX and 3GPP LTE architecture. Finally, we point to potential areas for future vulnerabilities and evaluate areas in 4G security which warrant attention. When you make a big dada program, If you use this network architecture then you can improve your learning speed.

The Long Term Evolution (LTE) system is designed to provide a high quality data service for fast moving mobile users. It is based on the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and relies its channel estimation on the training samples which are systematically built within the transmitting data. Either a preamble or a lattice type is used for the distribution of training samples and the latter suits better for the multipath fading channel environment whose channel frequency response (CFR) fluctuates rapidly with time. In the lattice-type structure, the estimation of the CFR makes use of the least squares estimate (LSE) for each pilot samples, followed by an interpolation both in time-and in frequency-domain to fill up the channel estimates for subcarriers corresponding to data samples. All interpolation schemes should rely on the pilot estimates only, and thus, their performances are bounded by the quality of pilot estimates. However, the additive noise give rise to high fluctuation on the pilot estimates, especially in a communication environment with low signal-to-noise ratio. These high fluctuations could be monitored in the alternating high values of the first forward differences (FFD) between pilot estimates. In this paper, we analyzed statistically those FFD values and propose a postprocessing algorithm to suppress high fluctuations in the noisy pilot estimates. The proposed method is based on a localized adaptive moving-average filtering. The performance of the proposed technique is verified on a multipath environment suggested on a 3GPP LTE specification. It is shown that the mean-squared error (MSE) between the actual CFR and pilot estimates could be reduced up to 68% from the noisy pilot estimates.
Mobile communication technology is advancing forward to deliver more connected devices and richer content and applications. The number of subscriptions continues to grow along with an explosive increase in the mobile data traffic demand. Thereby, it creates a significant network capacity shortage concerns for mobile network operators. In order to address this problem, it is essential to increase the network capacity at a low additional cost. The device-to-device (D2D) communication based proximity service is believed to have a promising future mobile communication technology that is capable to create new mobile service opportunities and offload traffic to the eNB. In addition, it is also required to develop new mobile communication services and its business models not only to accommodate the increasing mobile traffic demand but also to foster profitability of mobile business service providers such as the network providers, contents providers and platform providers. In this article, we first analyze current mobile business eco-system in the context of CPNT based value chain. Then, propose service development framework and business model creation methodologies for the device-to-device communication based services in the beyond LTE/LTE-Advanced systems.

In this paper, a fast diagonal-weighted Jacket matrices (DWJMs) is proposed to have the orthogonal architecture. We develop the successive DWJM to reduce the computational load while factorizing the large-order DWJMs into the low-order sparse matrices with the fast algorithms. The proposed DWJM is then applied to the precoding multiple-input and multiple output (MIMO) wireless communications because of its diagonal-weighted framework with element-wise inverse characteristics. Based on the properties of the DWJM, the DWJM can be used as alternative open loop cyclic delay diversity (CDD) precoding, which has recently become part of the cellular communications systems. Performance of the DWJM-based precoding system is verified for orthogonal space-time block code (OSTBC) MIMO LTE systems.
