  • A number of wireless technologies have been implemented, but each technology has its limitation in terms of coverage and bandwidth. WLAN and 3G cellular network has emerged to be a complementary platform for wireless data communications. However, the mobility of roaming terminals in heterogeneous networks poses several risks. To maintain secure communications in universal roaming, the effective authentication must be implemented. The focus of this paper is on analysis of authentication architecture involved in integrated WLAN/3G networks.

  • 스마트 폰의 보급과 함께, 무선 네트워크에서의 데이터 사용량이 급격하게 증가하고 있다. 이로 인해 발생하는 서버의 과부하와 그로 인한 속도 저하를 해결하기 위하여, 본 논문에서는 Wi-Fi 에드혹 네트워크를 이용한 통신을 3G 통신망에 효율적으로 접목하는 기법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 하나의 파일을 다수의 파일 블록으로 나누어 받는 방식을 이용하며, Wi-Fi 애드혹 네트워크를 이용해 주변에 있는 다른 이용자에게 파일 블록을 요청함과 동시에 자신이 가진 파일 블록 테이블을 다른 이용자에게 전달해주는 기법을 제안한다. 이를 이용하여 상대가 가지고 있을 것이라고 추측되는 파일 블록을 알아내어, 요청할 수 있다. 그 결과, 제안된 알고리즘이 3G와 Wi-Fi 에드혹 네트워크를 랜덤으로 이용하는 방법 대비 73%의 속도 향상과 43%의 3G 사용량 감소 효과를 보임을 확인할 수 있었다.

MANET에서 패킷취합을 이용한 VoIP 성능 개선 (VoIP Performance Improvement with Packet Aggregation over MANETs)

  • 본 논문에서는 짧은 길이의 패킷을 일정길이를 갖는 하나의 패킷에 취합하여 전송하는 기법인 패킷취합을 MANET(Mobile Ad-hoc Network)에서 전송되는 VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) 트래픽에 적용하여 전송성능을 개선하고 그 결과를 측정 분석하였다. 전송성능측정에는 NS(Network Simulator)-2를 기반으로 구현한 VoIP 시뮬레이터를 사용하였다. 시뮬레이션에서 VoIP 트래픽은 G.711, G.729A, GSM.AMR 및 iLBC를 사용하여 생성하였으며, 이 트래픽을 전송하여 MOS(Mean Opinion Score), 종단간 네트워크 지연, 패킷손실율 및 전송대역을 측정하였다. 결과로서 MOS는 약 98%, 종단간 네트워크 지연의 경우 6.4배, 패킷손실율의 경우 32배의 개선을 보였다. 반면에 전송대역은 최대 약 10% 증가하였다. 끝으로 본 논문은 측정된 결과를 토대로 MANET에서 패킷취합을 사용한 VoIP 구현기준을 제시하였다.

  • WBAN(Wireless Body Area Network) 기술은 인체 내부 및 외부에 부착한 디바이스들을 무선으로 연결하여 통신할 수 있는 근거리 무선 통신 기술로서 IEEE 802.15.6 TG BAN을 중심으로 물리 계층, 데이터 링크 계층, 네트워크 계층 및 응용계층 등에서 표준화가 진행되고 있다. WBAN 환경을 지원하기 위해서는 센서 노드 디바이스 뿐만 아니라 WBAN 미들웨어 및 WBAN 응용 서비스 등의 WBAN 핵심 기술의 개발이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 3G, 4G, WiFi를 통하여 환자의 생체 정보를 정확하고 신속하게 전달하기 위한 목적으로 WBAN 환경을 위한 의료용 메시지 구조를 설계하고 WBAN 게이트웨이 관리 엔진을 통하여 BN으로부터 들어온 환자의 생체 정보를 스마트폰에서 확인할 수 있는 의료용 애플리케이션을 구현하였다.

WCDMA Simulator Engine for 3G Wireless Network

  • Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) is one of the air interface techniques proposed for the third generation (3G) mobile communication system. WCDMA was selected because it fulfills the IMT-2000 requirements for higher data rate trans mission, support of multimedia capabilities and other flexible services due to its variable bit rates and larger bandwidth, improved capacity and coverage, efficient power control and support for advanced and improved detector structures. Performance evaluation of 3G wireless network through simulation plays an important role in the design and implementation of the actual system, aiding the wireless system designer by providing them the necessary performance conformance statistics prior to implementation. In accordance with this goal, a simulator engine was developed entirely on a MATLAB platform to emulate the behaviour of the WCDMA air interface for both the uplink and downlink in a real world fading mobile environment. This paper discuss the development of the simulator along with a brief description of its functionalities and user interface. The WCDMA air interface mode focused in this paper is in accordance to the 3GPPs frequency division duplex (FDD) mode and restricted to the physical layer description. Performance results for the selected cases for the downlink, uplink, varying mobile velocity and sampling rates are also provided.

Investigation of Linear Viscoelastic Properties of Xanthan-Carob Mixture in Sol and Gel States

  • Synergistic interactions between xanthan (X) and carob (C) were investigated by studying the linear viscoelastic behavior of X, C, and X/C mixtures at sol and gel states. At the solution state, storage modulus (G') dominates the linear viscoelastic properties of X/C mixtures. The gelation temperature (52 to $57^{\circ}C$) was weakly dependent on the xanthan fraction (${\phi}x$) in the mixture. The ${\phi}x$ also had a strong effect on G' until ${\phi}x=0.5$. The elastic active network concentration (EANC) of X/C gels was estimated from the pseudo-equilibrium modulus. The EANC for systems with ${\phi}x=0.25$, 0.5, 0.75, and 1 at 1% total concentration was 2.3, 4.4, 4.1, and 0.32 (${\times}10^{-3}\;mol/m^3$), respectively. The maximum synergistic effect was observed at about ${\phi}x=0.5$. The G' at the transition state of X/C mixed gel was proportional to ${\omega}^{3/2}$ at ${\omega}$>${\omega}_{tr}$ (the onset transition frequency) compared to the theoretical limit of ${\omega}^{1/2}$.

심층신경망을 이용한 스마트 양식장용 어류 크기 자동 측정 시스템 (Automatic Fish Size Measurement System for Smart Fish Farm Using a Deep Neural Network)

  • To measure the size and weight of the fish, we developed an automatic fish size measurement system using a deep neural network, where the YOLO (You Only Look Once)v3 model was used. To detect fish, an IP camera with infrared function was installed over the fish pool to acquire image data and used as input data for the deep neural network. Using the bounding box information generated as a result of detecting the fish and the structure for which the actual length is known, the size of the fish can be obtained. A GUI (Graphical User Interface) program was implemented using LabVIEW and RTSP (Real-Time Streaming protocol). The automatic fish size measurement system shows the results and stores them in a database for future work.

  • The fifth generation (5G) wireless technology is expected to be the trigger for the fourth industrial revolution. In particular, 5G ultra reliable low latency communication (URLLC) is expected to lead the wireless automation in vertical domains. In this paper, we analyze use cases, key metrics, and physical layer technologies for 5G URLLC standardized in $3^{rd}$ Generation Partnership Project Radio Access Network (3GPP RAN). Additionally, we discuss enabling RAN technologies towards beyond 5G to support high reliability and low latency.

A Study on the Potential of Utilizing Sensible Media for Dance in 5G Network

  • A 5G is 20 times faster than 4G. It also has hyper-connectivity, low latency merit and boundless potentials for medical education, transportation, entertainment and so on. In accordance with this, it is time to quickly look over on the utilization plan for 5G and sensible media in dance field, deal with the issue and its utilization. First of all, this study will review potential of 5G and sensible media in dance and its development plan. It seems like dance is able to communicate in a three-dimensional way. Utilizing sensible media can contribute to inform people of dance, and increase fun and interest which will make three-dimensional mutual communication. Also, in 5G environment, one can select whatever one wants in his or her viewpoint when utilizing sensible media such as VR, AR, hologram and so on. Supposing in a case of dancers and judges, it is possible for them to hire their own style of dancers in their countries. So, both the dancer and the judges have the positive merits. Third, streaming is possible without any installation, buffering is reduced. At the same time high-definition of media is allowed. This allowed collaborated performance of celebrities in dance and it also increased concentration and engagement. Dance field should acknowledge 5G sensible media, look for systemic and detailed method and disseminate and spread professional training and performance. In dance, testing fast developing sensible media due to 5G network, produce systemic dance training environment with various try is required and an effort for the performance situations in which advanced 5G sensible media is used.

Indoor 3D Dynamic Reconstruction Fingerprint Matching Algorithm in 5G Ultra-Dense Network

  • In the 5G era, the communication networks tend to be ultra-densified, which will improve the accuracy of indoor positioning and further improve the quality of positioning service. In this study, we propose an indoor three-dimensional (3D) dynamic reconstruction fingerprint matching algorithm (DSR-FP) in a 5G ultra-dense network. The first step of the algorithm is to construct a local fingerprint matrix having low-rank characteristics using partial fingerprint data, and then reconstruct the local matrix as a complete fingerprint library using the FPCA reconstruction algorithm. In the second step of the algorithm, a dynamic base station matching strategy is used to screen out the best quality service base stations and multiple sub-optimal service base stations. Then, the fingerprints of the other base station numbers are eliminated from the fingerprint database to simplify the fingerprint database. Finally, the 3D estimated coordinates of the point to be located are obtained through the K-nearest neighbor matching algorithm. The analysis of the simulation results demonstrates that the average relative error between the reconstructed fingerprint database by the DSR-FP algorithm and the original fingerprint database is 1.21%, indicating that the accuracy of the reconstruction fingerprint database is high, and the influence of the location error can be ignored. The positioning error of the DSR-FP algorithm is less than 0.31 m. Furthermore, at the same signal-to-noise ratio, the positioning error of the DSR-FP algorithm is lesser than that of the traditional fingerprint matching algorithm, while its positioning accuracy is higher.
