  • Digital Virtual Manufacturing is a technology to facilitate effective product developments and agile productions by digital models representing the physical and logical schema and the behavior of real manufacturing systems including products, process, manufacturing resources and plants. A digital virtual factory as a well-designed and integrated environment is essential for successful applications of this technology. In this research, we constructed a sophisticated digital virtual factory of the shipbuilding company's section steel shop by 3-D CAD and virtual manufacturing simulation. This digital virtual factory can be applied for diverse engineering activities in design, manufacturing and control of the real factory.

  • We suggested the policy of labor management in pump manufacturing industry through survey in order to improve competitive ability. In pump manufacturing industry, since it is difficult to find sufficient worker having technical skill and knowledge concerning pump manufacturing technology, therefore the industry must cultivate the employee systematically. We reached the result, production engineer and R&D engineer play an important role to improve competitive ability in pump manufacturing industry. Though they need technical education, the effect of education was not satisfactory. To solve this problem, suitable technical education course must be devised. Marketing reinforcement is a important factor in pump manufacturing industry. To achieve marketing reinforcement, each company must develop their present technology further and raise marketing ability to expand internal and external business. It is also consulted to use IT technology.

  • Additive manufacturing is converting a digitally designed object into a tangible three dimensional solid using an additive process where materials are applied in successive layers with no or very limited material waste. It can be distinguished form traditional manufacturing which begins with a fixed amount of raw material and removes excess to arrive at the final product. Generally there are five stages to the additive manufacturing supply chain, namely materials, systems, software, application design and production. In this paper, recent market trends and technology about additive manufacturing based on supply chain are analyzed and reviewed.

  • 본 논문에서는 ICT(Information Communication Technology) 기술을 이용하여 스마트팩토리 기반 CPPS(Cyber Pysical Production System)를 활용한 Digital-Twin 플랫폼 개발과 관련된 연구를 제안한다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 플랫폼은 선행 제조 공정 계획 단계부터 BOP(Bill of Process) 관리 기능을 포함하여 P3R(Product, Process, Plant, Resource)을 연계한 3D Model 시뮬레이션 기능을 수행한다. 또한 생산 공정, 설비, 레이아웃, 생산량 예측이 가능한 Digital Twin 플랫폼을 제안한다. 본 논문을 통해 제안된 플랫폼은 초기 계획 설계 단계에서부터 제조, 생산, 운영 및 유지보수 단계까지의 전체 스마트팩토리 제조 공정을 관리할 수 있는 특징을 제안하였다.

  • As the contemporary lifestyle has changed and the time to enjoy hobbies is increased, people prefer the DIY furniture that can be used at homes by manufacturing their own unique furnitures. Especially, the architecture of our country handed down traditionally or the setting-up technique used in furnitures are the techniques to maintain firmness even after long time passes by. Accordingly, in order to supply a firm setting-up technique mostly used by craftsman in the manufacture of DIY furniture and to apply this easily, a web site and 3D program system are required. In order to do so, it is important to prepare the system of setting-up that can be followed easily first by classifying the difficulty of setting-up that the general public can follow easily without having difficulties among the types of setting-up. Therefore, this study has performed a systematic arrangement by the order of difficulty for the types of setting-up that are investigated and arranged to set the purpose as presenting materials that are helpful so the furnitures using setting-up can be manufactured even in the manufacture of general DIY furnitures. Accordingly, the investigated results of setting-up difficulty are applied in the order of difficulty to a 3D program and as users select the suitable setting-up for their own standard, it is expected to be utilized in DIY furnitures that are manufactured directly.

깊이 영상을 이용한 3D 프린팅 기반 환자 맞춤형 안와 임플란트의 설계 및 제작 (3D Printing Based Patient-specific Orbital Implant Design and Production by Using A Depth Image)

  • In this paper, we present a novel algorithm to generate a 3D model of patient-specific orbital implant, which is finally produced by the 3D printer. Given CT (computed tomography) scan data of the defective orbital wall or floor, we compose the depth image of the defect site by using the depth buffering, which is a computer graphics technology. From the depth image, we compute the 3D surface which fills the broken part by interpolating the points around the broken part. By thickening the 3D surface, we get the 3D volume mesh of the orbital implant. Our algorithm generates the patient-specific orbital implant whose shape is accurately coincident to the broken part of the orbit. It provides the significant time efficiency for manufacturing the implant with supporting high user convenience.

  • In the present industry, three-dimensional colored shape has required for realistic prototype in rapid manufacturing. Z-corporation developed 3D printer which can color three-dimensional prototype but this process can't be adopted to other rapid prototype products and spend much time and cost coloring 3D shape. In this study a new coloring process on three-dimensional surface is proposed for realistic prototype. Three-dimensional surface coloring apparatus is composed of HP ink jet head and X-Y plotter. Distance and angle between ink jet nozzle and 3D surface are set as process parameter. Based on the experiment of process parameters, it is shown that distance and angle affected on printed image on 3D surface. Circle and line shape are chosen as standard image shape because the shape has widely used as standard in 2D printing. Consequently, the distorted image on 3D surface is corrected by transformed input image data.

  • 3D printing technology can be applied to various industries, and is trapped by major technologies that change existing manufacturing processes. 3D printing materials must satisfy designability, economy and productivity, and building materials are required to have strength and economy secured technology. 3D printing technology of construction field can be divided into structural materials and internal and external materials, and is mainly done by extruding and adapting. Particularly when it is applied as an exterior materials, it is mainly applied to an unstructured exterior materials and high accuracy is required. The exterior materials can be used as a cement composite materials, it is suitable also for a lamination type, and the role of a cement base bonding material is important. In this research, we developed a cementitious base binder applicable as a 3D printing exterior materials, confirmed density and strength characteristics for application as an exterior materials, a flame retardancy test for improving the fire resistance of buildings and confirmed its possibility.

생체 분해성 임플란트용 Mg-Zn-Ca 합금의 기계적 및 부식특성에 미치는 Sr 첨가의 영향 (Effect of Sr Addition on Mechanical and Corrosion Properties of Mg-Zn-Ca Alloy for Biodegradable Implant Material)

  • The effect of Sr addition on mechanical and bio-corrosion properties of as-cast Mg-3wt.%Zn-0.5wt.%Ca-xwt.%Sr (x = 0.3, 0.6, 0.9) alloys were examined for application as biodegradable implant material. The microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the as-cast Mg-Zn-Ca-Sr alloys were characterized by using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, tensile testing and electrochemical measurement in Hank's solution. The as-cast alloys contained ${\alpha}$-Mg and eutectic $Ca_2Mg_6Zn_3$ phases, while the alloys contained ${\alpha}$-Mg, $Ca_2Mg_6Zn_3$ and Mg-Zn-Ca-Sr intermetallic compound when the Sr addition was more than 0.3 wt.%. The yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and elongation increased with the increasing of Sr content up to 0.6 wt.% but decreased in the 0.9 wt.% Sr-added alloy, whereas the corrosion resistance of 0.3 wt.% Sr-added alloy was superior to other alloys. It was thought that profuse Mg-Zn-Ca-Sr intermetallic compound deteriorated both the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the as-cast alloy.

STS316L 분말의 레이저 클래딩층 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristics of Laser Cladding Layer of STS316L)

  • Laser cladding is a technique for forming beads by melt-sintering with a laser while directly feeding metal powder onto the base material through nozzles. This technique, which is applied in laser surface treatment technology, is useful for repairing broken or worn parts by allowing selective formation of the surface layer of the base metal material. In this paper, laser cladding process was performed on STS316L powder using high power continuous wave laser with IR wavelength and the cladding characteristics according to process conditions were experimentally analyzed.
