  • 3D printing has been expanding beyond the bio/nano field to the automobile and aviation industries. 3D-printing technology has to overcome real problems to have economic value compared to its unlimited usability. Typically, the difference in mechanical strength along the lamination direction requires sufficient research to ensure reliability. In this paper, we study the anisotropic properties of ABS based on the stacking method of FDM 3D printing. Specifically, the mechanical properties of ABS material are determined through a tensile test and 3-point bending test, and the in-plane orthotropic properties are ascertained.

  • This paper proposed efficient manufacturing system using OMM(on-machine measurement) system and OMM operating S/W based 3D modeler. A Developed program connected tool machine with RS232C. It is composed two operating system that touch probe operating and laser displacement sensor operating system. A program for touch probe possible measure considered inspection feature and CAD data. The laser operating program is used inspection for profile. very small hole using installed feature data. This system is applied manufacturing line of mold(cavity, core) also verification of efficiency manufacturing process that production, reduction machining error of each process

소비자 맞춤형 삼차원 프린팅 서비스 플랫폼 개발을 위한 탐색 (Preparatory Research prior to the Development of Consumer-Tailored 3D Printing Service Platform)

  • 삼차원(3D) 프린터의 개발과 보급에 따라 현대의 소비자들은 자신이 원하는 제품을 집에서 3D프린팅 할 수 있는 시대에 살고 있다. 3D프린팅을 통해 소비자 맞춤형 제작이 활성화되기 위해서는 3D프린터와 호환되는 디지털 설계도를 소비자 스스로 제작할 수 있어야 한다. 또한 최적의 프린팅 재질과 온도를 설정할 수 있어야 하고 3D프린터의 유지보수에 비용을 감당해야 한다. 더하여 혹시 있을지 모르는 디자인에 대한 지식재산권 문제에 대응할 수 있어야 한다. 그러나 실상 소비자가 이러한 문제들에 대응하기는 어렵기 때문에 소비자가 원하는 방향으로 3D프린팅을 대행해 줄 수 있는 서비스가 개발될 필요가 있다. 이런 동기에서 출발한 본 연구는 소비자가 원하는 3D프린팅 서비스 방식이 무엇인지에 통찰을 얻기 위해 세계적인 온라인 3D프린팅 제품판매 업체인 Shapeways (www.shapeways.com)에 대한 사용자 경험을 다양한 측면에서 탐색하였다. 그 결과 Shapeways의 사용성, 검색과정, 가격 적절성, 재방문의도, 디자인의 다양성, 디자인 만족도에 대한 양적 평가에서 전반적으로 낮은 평가를 받았다. 또한 다양한 언어지원, 제품 제작과정 공개 및 온-오프라인 사이트 동시운영, 디자이너 중심의 소비자 맞춤형 제작 서비스, 배송 안전성과 제품 내구성에 대한 확신을 줄 수 있는 서비스, 표면의 마감처리 서비스가 필요하다는 건설적인 의견을 통해 소비자 맞춤형 3D프린팅 서비스에 대한 통찰을 획득하였다. 본 연구가 3D프린팅 서비스 플랫폼 개발뿐 아니라, 관련된 산업 및 연구에도 폭넓은 시사점을 줄 것으로 기대한다.

  • 3D printing AM processes have advantages in complex shapes, customized fabrication and prototype development stage. However, due to various parameters based on both the machine and the material, the AM process can produce finished output after several trials and errors in the initial stage. As such, minimizing or optimizing negative factors for various parameters of the 3D printing AM process could be a solution to reduce the trial-and-error failures in the early stages of such an AM process. In addition, this can be largely solved through software simulation in the preprocessing process of 3D printing AM process. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate a simulation technology for the AM software, especially Ansys Inc. The metal 3D printing AM process, the AM process simulation software, and the AM process simulation processor were examined. Through this study, it will be helpful to understand 3D printing AM process and AM process simulation processor.

  • In the construction industry, interest in technologies such as 3D Construction Printing (3DCP) is increasing, and research is being conducted continuously. In the case of atypical architecture, different shapes must be implemented, and the introduction of 3D printing technology is intended to solve it. Our researchers are conducting research to produce Free-form Concrete Panel (FCP). It automatically manufactures the FCP's formwork without any error with the design shape. At this time, the concrete nozzle based on the 3D printing technology is developed and the concrete is precisely extruded into the manufactured form to prevent the deformation of the formwork that can occur due to the concrete load. Therefore, in this study, the requirements for the development of 3D printing concrete nozzles for FCP manufacturing are analyzed. Based on the analyzed requirements, the first nozzle was developed. Such equipment is easy to shorten construction period and cost reduction in the atypical construction field, and is expected to be utilized as basic 3D printing equipment.

  • In the field of shipbuilding design, the use of 3D CAD is becoming commonplace, and most of the large shipyards are conducting 3D design. However at the production site, workers are still working on 2D drawings rather than 3D models. This tendency is even worse in small-scale shipyards and block manufacturing shops. Particularly, in a manufacturing shop that is engaged in the outsourcing of blocks, it may not be possible to provide 3D model. However, the demand for 3D models in the production field is steadily increasing. Therefore, it would be helpful if 3D model could be generated from a 2D drawing. In this paper, we propose a method to extract template and unfolded surface shape information from shell template offset drawing using computer vision technology. Also a 3D surface model was reconstructed and visualized from the extracted information. The result of this study is thought to be helpful in the work environment where 3D model information can not be obtained.

  • I present a 3-D profiler specially devised for the profile measurement of specular surfaces that requires precision shape accuracy up to a few nanometer. A profile is reconstructed from the curvature of a test part of the surface at several locations along a line. The local curvature data are acquired with White-light Scanning Interferometry. Test measurement proves that the proposed profiler is well suited for the specular surface inspection like precision mirror.

장신구 활용에 적합한 3D프린팅 방법론 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on the 3D Printing Methodology suitable for Jewelry)

  • 3D프린팅의 활용은 매우 혁신적이면서 유용한 기술이다. 하지만 장신구 분야에서는 3D프린팅 기술은 제작방법의 한 분야로서 한정적 으로 사용되는 기술이다. 이러한 3D프린팅의 한계를 극복하기 위해 3D프린팅 출력방식 중 가장 대중적이며 조형활동에 적합한 출력방식을 선정하고 출력시간, 조건을 한정하여 장신구에 적용 가능성을 알아보기 위해 비주조과정과 주조과정 각각의 방법을 통해 시제품까지 완성하고 이를 비교해 보았다. 그 결과, FDM출력 방식은 비용과 시간적인 측명에서 매우 긍정적인 장점이 있지만 표면에 적층구조가 지워지지 않으며 출력과정시 발생되는 필라멘트의 잔여물로 인해 선 조형을 표면시 완성도가 떨어지는 단점이 있었다. DLP출력방식은 표면처리가 고르며 완성도가 높은 반면, 비용과 시간적인 측면에서 효율성이 떨어지는 단점이 있었다. 하지만 두 출력방법 모두 장신구 활용 가능하며 향후 디자인에 맞는 다양한 출력방법연구가 이루어져 장신구에 3D 작품연구가 활발히 수행되기를 바란다.

  • This paper investigates the compressive deformation behavior of direct metal tooling (DMT), processing titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) parts under high strain loading conditions. Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) experiments were performed to determine the flow stress and the coefficients of the Johnson-Cook model. This model is described as a function of strain, strain rate, and temperature. SHPB experiments were performed to characterize the deformation behavior of specimens made with 3D printers, using Ti-6Al-4V material under high temperature and dynamic loading.

구조물의 운동에 대한 실시간 측정시스템 개발 (Real-time Measurement System for 3D Motion of a Body)

  • Measurement of the absolute displacement of the moving machinery components in three-dimensions (3D) is of critical functional importance. This paper describes the system that measures motion associated with six degrees-of-freedom in 3D. Wire-sensors are used to estimate the positions of an object in a 3D Cartesian coordinate system, based on the values of their initial position and the measured values. For inducing the transfer function, which represents the motion of an object, the number of the minimum measurement points is determined. Also, the experimental measuring device is configured to visualize the behavior of a rectangular object in real-time. The software for measuring the six types of motions is directly programmed using a commercial software.
