  • Today, the 3D character animation is easily accessible from most of the film such as an actuality film, animation, games, or advertising. However, such a smooth movement of characters is a result obtained by Key Frame operation which skilled animators worked with data obtained through expensive equipment such Motion Capture for a long time. Therefore, to modify or to give other effects is not easy. In some cases, character's action made according to the personal feeling could be different with universal expectations of audiences, because it might be not appropriate to make regulations generalized between character's action by animater's design and emotional reaction of audience. In this research, it is aimed to show the way which is easily to blend and modify 2-3 Biped animation data by offering the operation tools of 3-D rotation using 3D Studio MAX Script. By this tool E.A.M., we can have various researches for quantities relation of between walking and emotional reaction.

  • This study analyzes into the characteristic appearance in distintion with emotional changes toward visual forms of psychology along with character development in the 3D animation industry. In this regard, the study seeks to propose essential targets of the five emotional characters from the Pixar's animation Inside-Out to prove psychological effects to the character's visual appearance. As a previous research, the study analysis the visual representations oriented toward both emotional facial expression and emotional color expression using both Paul Ekman and Robert Plutchik's human basic emotion research. The purpose of this study is to present the visual guideline of emotional character's appearance through the various human expression for differentiated character development in animation production.

  • Chang'an (Chinese: 长安三万里), also known as 30,000 Miles from Chang'an, is a 2023 Chinese 3D animated historical drama film directed by Xie Junwei and Zou Jing. This thesis aims to explore the visual expression of traditional culture in the 3D animated film Chang'an as an example to reveal the reasons for the success of this type of film. The study analyses in detail the design of the character models and costumes, as well as the use of the traditional landscape painting technique of 'white space' in the composition of the screen from the visual aspect. Through the analysis of character design and screen composition, the thesis concludes that the success of Chang'an lies in its elaborate visual design and clever use of traditional culture, which makes it a 3D animation film with both artistic and commercial values. Finally, the thesis concludes that the production of a successful 3D animation film needs to combine the visual elements of 3D animation with traditional culture in order to win audience recognition and achieve commercial success.

  • This article analyzes the background representation of 3D animation and look at what its proper background expression. With the development of computer graphics technology, the background of the 3D animations can be expressed as The actual background. In contrast, "The Smurfs" which was released recently was created to take the actual background. However, 3D animation with real background is not appropriate in terms of creative expression space in the main role of the animation. In this Study, we analyze the character and background of the animation made in 3D graphics. Based on this, we propose a correct representation of 3D animation background.

  • On-line game industry had accomplished much growths and development. One in pain of the game enterprises according to quality of on-line comes to be short Game production pipeline and it is suitable in quick production schedule and to be easy to the standard research of form by of 3D game character animations which are various the game production at the time of application is possible, operation by and type by in necessity. Element by model classification of the digital base game character which is used in game it set from the research which it sees and research it analyzed and the fundamental data which is necessary to 3D game character animation productions escape it tried. And the digital motioncapture it applies a cap department system and real picture of the character animation which is various at real-time the control research moving and it advances at the time when the effectiveness is short highly in game industry and digital contents industry application the character animation production process which is possible and production pipeline escape the reporter to do it does.

  • The current 3D CG animation pipe line, which is the production system, does not have an effective solution that all animation departments are able to start their jobs independently against other animation departments. It is generally acknowledged that we could not do animating task before the modeling and set-up task. This kind of process has caused loss of labour. We could expect lasting problems which is stopping marking animating process before the previous process done again in case of requiring editing the jobs which are modeling and set-up. We could solve these "bottleneck" situation with "master character" defined as standard, so that animate and retake the job independently against other departments. These new process could accelerate the animation pipe line system.

  • Due to increased interest in character costumes, the field of animation character costume design is gradually developing into a specialized domain. The costume-making process for animation characters presents many differences from the costume-making process for regular apparel. However, there remains insufficient research on the actual process of making the character costumes used in stop motion videos both in Korea and abroad. The purpose of this study is to establish a costume design process for animation characters. Furthermore, this study presents a case study on the costume planning and making process for 3D stop motion animation characters. The character costume-making process was segmentalized into the following stages: character analysis stage, character modeling stage, and character costume making stage. In the character analysis stage, the investigator analyzed the character's movements, designed the character images, and analyzed the movements and motions of the animation characters. After completing character modeling, this study proposed a method for making the character costume. The style of the character costume was designed, and the structural design reflected the position and size of joints as well as the angle of movements. The patterns of the character costume were produced through dimensional tailoring after measuring the body size of the character. Afterward, the costume was completed after passing through the fitting and revision stages. The clothing material was selected to fit the colors and feelings shown in the illustration. To complete the costume after comparing it with the initial illustration, it was revised based on the assessment of its volume and overall atmosphere.

  • Game industry will be one of the fastest developed industries in the 21st century. It is the outcome derived from the development of hardware such as the accumulated technology and computer in the 20th century. The development of computer graphics and hardware technique has let games have more realistic expression. The reality shown in games has influences over the movement of 3-dimensional game character as well as its background. The animation of character has been influenced by animator's level of skill, but it was problematic to have unnatural movement and long-term production time. In this regard, this study will compare the most widely used animation techniques such as Key-Frame method and Motion-Capture method each other and try to figure out which one is the most appropriate and effective method in 3 dimensional game character animation.

  • Recently, case presentations using AI functions such as ChatGPT are increasing in many industrial fields. As AI-based results emerge even in the areas of images and videos, traditional animation production tools are in need of significant changes. Unreal Engine is the tool that adapts most quickly to these changes, proposing a new animation production workflow by integrating tools such as Metahuman and Marvelous Designer. Working with realistic metahumans allows for the production of realistic and natural movements, such as those captured through motion capture data. Implementing this approach presents many challenges for production tools that adhere to traditional methods. In this study, we investigated the differences between the cell animation workflow and the computer graphics animation production workflow. We compared and analyzed whether these differences could be reduced by creating sample movements using character rigs in Maya and Cascadeur tools. Our results showed that a similar cell animation workflow could be constructed using the Cascadeur tool. To improve the accuracy of our conclusions, we created large, action-packed short animations to demonstrate and validate our findings.
