We developed a glasses-free 3D stereoscopic display using an LCD display panel, a view control film and a grating film for stereoscopic viewing. The observer can watch overlapped stereoscopic images for left and right eyes without special glasses such as polarized glasses.

본 논문에서는 10W급 Tablet용 AC to DC Adapter의 소형화 및 슬림형에 적합한 평면 Flyback 변압기 최적화 설계에 대해서 나타낸다. 또한 본 논문에서는 수동권선의 기존 양산 Flyback 변압기에 비해 자동권선, Trans 크기 저감 및 누설 인덕턴스(L_k) 저감이 가능한 Hybrid형 사출 권선 변압기와 Drum형 사출 권선 변압기를 제안한다. 특히 본 논문에서 제안한 Drum형 사출 권선 변압기는 Hybrid형 사출 권선 변압기 2차측의 동판 사출 권선 접속 문제를 해결하기 위하여 변압기를 수평으로 눕힌 형태로 구성하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 Hybrid형 사출 권선 변압기와 Drum형 사출 권선 변압기의 1차측과 2차측 권선은 각각 기존 권선과 동판 사출 권선을 사용하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 Hybrid형 사출 권선 변압기와 Drum형 사출권선 변압기에 대해 Maxwell 2D 및 3D Tool을 이용하여 소형화 및 슬림형에 적합한 평면 Flyback 변압기 최적화 설계를 수행하였다.

This paper presents a novel dynamic vibration absorber (DVA) to suppress the unbalance response of flexible rotor-bearing systems. The DVA unit consists of two DVAs, an adapter to place the DVAs and an adapter frame to locate the adapter. The essential feature of the proposed DVA unit is to place itself on any desirable location of the shaft without disassembling the rotor-bearing system under consideration. A simulation with a 3D element based commercial rotor dynamic software is made to test the possibility of the proposed DVA on the suppression of unbalance response in rotor-bearing systems. Experiments are performed to validate the proposed DVA unit. The simulation and experiments show that the proposed DVA unit is very effective to suppress the unbalance response in rotor-bearing system at designated rotational speeds of interest.

본 논문에서는 밀리미터파 모듈 응용을 위하여 광대역 마이크로스트립-대-웨이브가이드 (WR12) 천이기가 제시된다. 대역폭의 개선을 위하여 radial 마이크로 스트립 electrical-probe가 저 손실 유기 유전체 기판 위에 설계되었다. 제안된 천이기의 삽입 및 반사손실에 대한 설계 및 측정된 특성을 나타내었다. 측정을 위한 케이블 아답터와 웨이브가이드 천이기의 손실을 고려하면, 제안된 천이기의 천이 손실이 70 및 80 GHz에서 각각 -1.88 및 -2.01 dB로 분석되었다. 제안된 천이기의 -10 dB 반사 손실 대역폭은 67GHz 에서 95 GHz로 약 26 GHz이다. 최신의 연구결과와 비교해서 대역폭에서 8.3 % 개선되었다.

This paper empirically examines various personal characteristics and preferences of HRM (Human Resorce Mamagement) systems using data from 968 R&D professionals in 9 private R&D organizations. It identifies different patterns of reward and career development needs associated with 4 types of R&D professionals, who are categorized by personal characteristics: personality and attitude. A productive leader type shows active personal traits (which encompass high scores of need for achievement, risk-taking propensity, tolerance for ambiguity, and self-efficacy) and positive attitudes (which include high scores of job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and low scores of turnover intention), while a cynical bystander type exhibits passive personal traits and negative attitudes toward a job. A passive adapter, who has passive personal characteristics but positive attitudes, and a frustrated champion, who is active in personality but negative in current job attitude, lie in between them. The results reveal that: 1) These four different types of R&D professionals show differences in their education, age and tenure level, and technical performance. 2) They have different career orientations and problem solving styles. 3) They also exhibit different preferences in performance appraisal criteria and rater, and reward structures. Based on these findings, this study suggests a contingent type of human resource management in terms of selection and staffing of R&D professionals, performance appraisal, incentive systems, and career development plans.

Objective : The latest version of the Leksell Gamma Knife Icon^TM allows for mask- and frame-based fixation. Although mask fixation provides fractionated treatment and immobilization using a noninvasive method, it is not free from collision. The authors investigated the collision problem with a modified mask fixation method. Methods : This study presents a case of two meningiomas in the frontal area, where a collision occurs in the occipital area. A modified mask fixation method was introduced to avoid the collision : first, the edges of the head cushion were cut off and polystyrene beads with a diameter of approximately 5 cm were removed. Next, the head cushion was sealed using a stapler. Finally, the head cushion was flattened in the adapter. We compared the shot coordinates, 3-dimensional (3D) error, clearance distance, and vertical depth of the head cushion between the initial and modified mask fixations. Results : When comparing the initial and modified mask fixations, the difference in the shot coordinates was +10.5 mm along the y-axis, the difference in the 3D error was approximately 18 mm, and the difference in clearance was -10.2 mm. The head cushion was approximately 8 mm deeper in the modified mask fixation. Conclusion : Based on these findings, we recommend a modified mask fixation method for gamma knife radiosurgery using ICON with a collision.

한국과학기술원의 설계자동화연구실에서 IBM PC/AT 상에서 동작하도록 제작한 그래픽스 보드 "K"를 구동시키기 위하여 소프트웨어 인터페이스인 CGI-K를 TI사에서 제공한 C언어와 어셈블리 언어를 이용하여 작성하였다. CGI-K를 구성하는 디바이스 드라이버 루틴과 네모, 원, 현 및 호와 같은 그래픽스 프리미티브를 만드는 알고리듬을 제안하였으며, CGI-K는 EGA(enhanced graphics adapter)의 CGI보다 3배에서 10배 정도 빠른 속도를 갖는 것을 보였다. CGI-K를 이용하여 2차원 그래픽스 에디터인 GRIM과 3차원 모델링 프로그램인 IPCHE를 만들었으며, GRIM은 그래픽스 프리미티브를 이용하여 원하는 그림을 그릴 수 있도록 하였으며 IPCHE는 3차원 물체의 데이타를 받아들여 보이지 않는 면을 제거하고 명암과 원근 효과를 갖는 3차원 물체를 화면상에 그려 준다.

Toll-like receptors (TLRs) play an important role in host defense by sensing invading microbial pathogens and initiating innate immune responses. The stimulation of TLRs by microbial components triggers the activation of myeloid differential factor 88 (MyD88)- and toll-interleukin-1 receptor domain-containing adapter inducing interferon-${\beta}$ (TRIF)-dependent downstream signaling pathways. Isoliquiritigenin (ILG), an active ingredient of Licorice, has been used for centuries to treat many chronic diseases. ILG inhibits the MyD88-dependent pathway by inhibiting the activity of inhibitor-${\kappa}B$ kinase. However, it is not known whether ILG inhibits the TRIF-dependent pathway. To evaluate the therapeutic potential of ILG, we examined its effect on signal transduction via the TRIF-dependent pathway of TLRs induced by several agonists. ILG inhibited nuclear factor-${\kappa}B$ and interferon regulatory factor 3 activation induced by lipopolysaccharide or polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid. ILG inhibited the lipopolysaccharide-induced phosphorylation of interferon regulatory factor 3 as well as interferon-inducible genes such as interferon inducible protein-10, and regulated activation of normal T-cell expressed and secreted (RANTES). These results suggest that ILG can modulate TRIF-dependent signaling pathways of TLRs, leading to decreased inflammatory gene expression.

NHERF ($Na^+/H^+$ exchanger regulatory factor) and E3KARP (NHE3 kinase A regulatory protein) play important roles in membrane targeting, trafficking and sorting of ion channels, transmembrane receptors and signaling proteins in many tissues. Each of these proteins contains two PDZ (PSD-95/Dlg-1/ZO-1) domains, which mediate the assembly of transmembrane and cytosolic proteins into functional signal transduction complexes. The interaction between NHERF and E3KARP was investigated by surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy (BIAcore), fluorescence measurement, His-tagged pull-down experiment, and size-exclusion column (SEC) chromatography. BIAcore experiments revealed that NHERF bound to E3KARP with an apparent $K_D$ of 7 nM. Fluorescence emission spectra of the NHERF-E3KARP complex suggested that the tight interaction between these proteins was accompanied by significant conformational changes in one or both. The CD spectra of NHERF and E3KARP show that the conformational changes of these proteins were dependent on pH and temperature. These results implicate that the NHERF-E3KARP complex allows intracellular signaling complexes to form through PDZ-PDZ interactions.

Viral RNA was extracted from a purified orchid strain of tobacco mosaic virus (TMV-O) from Cymbidium "Grace Kelly". Polyadenylated viral RNAs were primed with Not I-oligo (dT) primer-adapter. First-strand cDNAs were reversely transcribed by Moloney murine leukaemia virus reverse transcriptase (RNAse H-), and then second-strand cDNAs were synthesized by RNase H and DNA polymerase I. The resulting double-stranded cDNAs were ligated into pSPORT1 vector and transformed into competent E. coli strain JM109 cells. The size of cDNAs within the recombinant plasmids was ranging from 0.9 to 3.9 kb. Among the selected clones, pTMO-0205 and -0210 covered the 3' half and the 5' half of the viral genomic RNA, respectively, which were covering more than 99% of the viral genemo size based on sequencing analysis. Two cDNA fragments which were 3.1 kb BamHI and NotI fragement released from pTMO-0.205 and 3.3 kb SalI and BamHI fragment released from pTMO-0210 were ligated with T4 DNA ligase. The clone was almost entire length, lacking only 31 nucleotides from the 5' terminus based on the sequencing result. This method was shown to be efficiently applicable to other plant viral gnomic RNA for the construction of cDNA.n of cDNA.
