세탁기용 자동신통저감장치($Auto-Leg^{TM}$)의 최적 설계 (Optimal Design of an Auto-Leg System for Washing Machines)

  • Automatic washing machines have been improved and popularized steadily since the first electric washing machine was produced in the early 1900's. Appliance industry has tried to obtain the performance of washing machine with large capacity, high energy efficiency, low vibration and low noise levels. As the installation peace of a washer becomes closer to the living space, vibration and noise problems become more important challenges. In general, a washing machine has four legs to support its body. Four legs of the washing machine should be attached on a floor. If not so, it may cause severe vibration or walking in the spin-drying process. Unfortunately, the floor of an ordinary house is bumpy in general, and the consumers will not accept bolting washing machines to a foundation; moreover, sometimes they move the location of their washing machines to utility rooms or bath rooms or kitchens and don't care for leveling the legs exactly. In this study, we devise an auto-leg system that prevents the occurrence of abnormal vibration and walking of washing machines. It is simply composed of a spring and a friction damper. Some experiments are implemented to show the dynamic characteristics of the three-dimensional auto-legged washing machine model that is located on the even or uneven ground. A spring parameter is optimized to adjust the length of the auto-leg system automatically up to 10 mm irregularity, and the friction damper is designed to decrease a resonance induced by the spring of the auto-leg system. Some numerical results show that placing the proposed auto-leg system in a washing machine makes good performance with low vibration, as well as low noise, regardless of the unevenness of the floor.

점용접 및 아크용접 겸용 로봇 자동화시스템 개발 (Development of Spot Welding and Arc Welding Dual Purpose Robot Automation System)

  • A dual purpose robot automation system is developed for both arc welding and spot welding by one robot within a cell. The need for automation of both arc welding and spot welding processes is urgent while the production volume is not so big as to accommodate separate station for the two processes. Also, space is too narrow for separate station to be settled down in the factory. A spot welding robot is chosen and the function for arc welding are implemented in-house at cost of advanced functions. For the spot welding, a single pole type gun is used and the robot has to push down the plate to be welded, which causes the robot positioning error. Therefore, position error compensation algorithm is developed. The basic functions for the arc welding processes are implemented using the digital I/O board of robot controller, PLC, and A/D conversion PCB. The weaving pattern is taught in meticulously by manual teach. A fixture unit is also developed for dual purpose. The main aspects of the system is presented in this paper especially in the design and implementation procedure. The signal diagrams and sequence logic diagrams are also included. The outcome of the dual purpose welding cell is the increased productivity and good production stability which is indispensable for production volume prediction. Also, it leads to reduction of manufacturing lead time.

만성 중이염의 수술시 소견에 대한 임상통계적 관찰 (CLINICOSTATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF SURGICAL FINDINGS IN CHRONIC OTITIS MEDIA)

  • 만성중이염은 현재 그 빈도가 줄어드는 추세에 있으나 아직도 이과 영역에서 큰 비중을 차지하는 질환이다. 또한 청력개선, 정상구조의 보존, 병변 제거의 목적을 위하여 대부분 수술적 요법이 필요하게 된다. 이에 저자들은 본 병원에서 시행한 만성 중이염 451예, 남자 238예, 여자 213예. 진주종성 중이염 170예, 비진주종성 중이염 273예에 대한 수술시 소견에 대한 임상 통계적 관찰을 한 바, 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 관찰대상을 술식별로 분류하면 진주종성 중이염과 비진주종성 중이염의 비가 $\circled1$ Myningoplasty ; 19.1% : 0%, $\circled2$ Tympanoplasty without mastoidectomy ; 34.5% : 14.4%, $\circled3$ Tympanoplasty with mastoidectomy ; 3.0% :12.1% 이었다. 2) 고막천공부위는, 진주종성 중이염과 비진주종성 중이염의 비가 변연부천공이 10.1% : 5.5%, 상고실천공이 38.8% : 1.4%, 중심부천증이 12.9% : 47.3%, 전천공이 32.5% : 39.6%, 고막유착이 5.6% : 6.2% 을 보였다. 3) 이소골의 상태는 진주종성중이염과 비진주종성 중이염의 비가, 모든 이소골의 손실은 26.6% : 4.3%, 모든 이소골이 정상에 가까운 예는 16.6% : 69.3%, 가장 병변이 심했던 침골 이상은 76.9% : 24.8% 를 보였다. 4) 중이강 점막소견은 진주종성 중이염과 비진주종성 중이염의 비가, 정상에 가까운 예가 16.7% : 47.0%, 병적 소견을 보인 예가 83.3% : 53.0% 이었다. 5) 진주종성 중이염과, 비진주종성 중이염에서의 안면신경관노출은 2.2% : 0.3%, 뇌막노출은 9.5% : 2.9%, 횡정맥동노출은 5.0% : 1.1%, 미로누공은 1.7% : 0% 이었다.lant, engineering service business can be said "The Software of Total Industry." Copper-soy Proteinate의 첨가가 채란계의 생산성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dietary Supplementation of Copper-soy Proteinate on the Performance of Laying Hens)

  • 본 실험은 Cu-soy proteinate(Cu-SP)의 사료 내 첨가가 채란계의 생산성에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 실시하였다. 사양 시험은 32주령의 채란계(Hy-Line Brown) 1,000수를 선별하여A형 2단 케이지에 총 5처리, 처리당 4반복, 반복당 50수(2수 수용 케이지 25개)씩 난괴법으로 배치하였다. 시험 기간 중 물과 사료는 자유섭취하도록 하였으며, 일반적인 점등 관리(16L + 8D)를 실시하였다. 시험구로는 대조구, Cu-SP 50(Cu-SP로 Cu 50 ppm), Cu-SP 100(Cu-SP로 Cu 100 ppm), Cu-SP 150(Cu-SP로 Cu 150 ppm) 그리고 Cu-SP 200(Cu-SP로 Cu 200 ppm 첨가) 등 총 5처리구들을 두었다. 일계산란율(hen-day egg production), 산란지수(hen-house egg production), 난중, 연 파란율은 처리구들간에 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 사료 섭취량과 사료 요구율은 Cu-SP 첨가구들이 대조구에 비하여 유의적으로(P<0.01) 낮았다. 난각 두께는 Cu-SP 처리구들이 대조구보다 얇았으나, 난각 강도는 처리들간에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 난황색과 난각 색도는 Cu-SP 100과 200구가 다른 처리구들과 비교하여 높았으나, 난황 내 광물질 함량은 처리구들간에 유의적인 차이는 없었다. 혈액 내 leukocytes와 erythrocytes의 수준에는 차이가 없었다. 결론적으로 Cu-SP로 Cu 50~200 ppm을 채란계 사료에 첨가 시 사료 섭취량과 사료 요구율을 유의하게 감소시켰다.

Efficiency of Various Nutritional Sources to Improve Physical Properties of Saline-Sodic Soil

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the efficiency of various inorganic and organic materials to improve physical properties of soil. Saline sodic soil (saturation percentage = 40.36%, $EC_e=5.15dS\;m^{-1}$, $pH_s=8.70$, $SAR=18.84(m\;mol\;L^{-1})^{1/2}$, bulk density =$1.49Mg\;m^{-3}$) was collected, brought to wire house and filled in pots after laboratory analysis for various parameters. Different sources of organic nutrients like farm manure (FM), press mud, compost, poultry manure and sesbania green manure were analyzed for their chemical composition. The experiment comprised of 12 treatments replicated thrice; $T_1$: control (recommended NPK), $T_2:{\frac{1}{2}}$ recommended NPK, $T_3$: FM at 1.5% by soil weight, $T_4$: pressmud at 1.5% by soil weight, $T_5$: compost at 1.5% by soil weight, $T_6$: poultry manure at 1.5% by soil weight, $T_7$: sesbania green manure at 1.5% by soil weight, $T_8:T_2$ + FM at 0.75% by soil weight, $T_9:T_2$ + pressmud at 0.75% by soil weight, $T_{10}:T_2$ + compost at 0.75% by soil weight, $T_{11}:T_2$ + poultry manure at 0.75% by soil weight, $T_{12}:T_2$ + sesbania green manure at 0.75% by soil weight. These treatments were applied using completely randomized (CR) design and appropriate time was given to decompose these organic nutritional sources. Seeds of wheat cultivar Sahar-2006 were sown. After harvesting the wheat, soil samples were collected from each pot and analyzed for various physical properties like bulk density, porosity and saturation percentage. An improvement in physical properties (bulk density, porosity and saturation percentage) of soil was noticed with the application of various organic nutritional sources but role of compost alone ($T_5$) remained prominent.

태양에너지 연구 시험센타 설계 및 효율에 관한 연구 (Design & Performance of the Solar Energy Research & Test Center)

  • The Solar Energy R&D Department of KIER under the auspice of the Korean government is pushing hard on the development of the passive solar technology with high priority for the expeditious widespread use of solar energy in Korea, since the past few years of experiences told us that the active solar technology is not yet ready for massive commercialization in Korea. KIER has completed the construction of the Solar Energy Research & Test Center in Seoul, which houses the major facilities for its all solar test programs. The Center was designed as a passive solar building with great emphasis on the energy conserving ideas. The Center is not only the largest passive building in Korea, but also the exhibit center for the effective demonstration of the passive heating and cooling technology to the Korean public. The Center was designed to satisfy the requirements based on the technical and economical criteria set by the KIER. Careful considerations, therefore, were given in depth in the following areas to meet the requirements. 1) Passive Heating Concepts The Center employed the combination of direct and indirect gain system. The shape of the Center is Balcomb House style, and it included a large built-in sunspace in front. A partition, consists of transparent and translucent glazings, separates the sunspace and the living space. Since most activities in the Center occur during the day time, direct utilization of the solar energy by the living spaces was emphasized with the limited energy storage capacity. 2) Passive Cooling Concepts(for Summer) Natural ventilation concept was utilized throughout the building. In the direct gain portion of the system, the front glazing can be openable during the cooling season. Natural convection scheme was also applied to the front sunspace for the Summer cooling. Reflective surfaces and curtains were utilized wherever needed. 3) Auxiliary Heat ing and Cooling System As an auxiliary cooling system, mechanical means(forced convection system) were adopted. Therefore forced air heating system was also used to match the duct work requirements of the auxiliary cool ing system. 4) Effect ive Insulation & Others These included the double glazed windows, the double entry doors, the night glazing insulation, the front glazing-frame insulation as well as the building skin insulation. All locally available construction materials were used, and natural lightings were provided as much as possible. The expected annual energy savings (compared to the non-insulated conventional building)of the Center was estimated to be about 80%, which accounts for both the energy conservation and the solar energy source. The Center is being instumented for the actual performance tests. The experimental results of the simplified tests are discussed in this paper.

VAR 모형을 이용한 주가, 금리, 물가, 주택가격의 관계에 대한 실증연구 (An Empirical Analysis on the Relationship between Stock Price, Interest Rate, Price Index and Housing Price using VAR Model)

  • Purpose - This study analyzes the relationship and dynamic interactions between stock price index, interest rate, price index, and housing price indices using Korean monthly data from 2000 to 2013, based on a VAR model. This study also examines Granger causal relationships among these variables in order to determine whether the time series of one is useful in forecasting another, or to infer certain types of causal dependency between stochastic variables. Research design, data, and methodology - We used Korean monthly data for all variables from 2000: M1 to 2013: M3. First, we checked the correlations among different variables. Second, we conducted the Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) test and the co-integration test using the VAR model. Third, we employed Granger Causality tests to quantify the causal effect from time series observations. Fourth, we used the impulse response function and variance decomposition based on the VAR model to examine the dynamic relationships among the variables. Results - First, stock price Granger affects interest rate and all housing price indices. Price index Granger, in turn, affects the stock price and six metropolitan housing price indices. However, none of the Granger variables affect the price index. Therefore, it is the stock markets (and not the housing market) that affects the housing prices. Second, the impulse response tests show that maximum influence on stock price is its own, and though it is influenced a little by interest rate, price index affects it negatively. One standard deviation (S.D.) shock to stock price increases the housing price by 0.08 units after two months, whereas an impulse shock to the interest rate negatively impacts the housing price. Third, the variance decomposition results report that the shock to the stock price accounts for 96% of the variation in the stock price, and the shock to the price index accounts for 2.8% after two periods. In contrast, the shock to the interest rate accounts for 80% of the variation in the interest rate after ten periods; the shock to the stock price accounts for 19% of the variation; however, shock to the price index does not affect the interest rate. The housing price index in 10 periods is explained up to 96.7% by itself, 2.62% by stock price, 0.68% by price index, and 0.04% by interest rate. Therefore, the housing market is explained most by its own variation, whereas the interest rate has little impact on housing price. Conclusions - The results of the study elucidate the relationship and dynamic interactions among stock price index, interest rate, price index, and housing price indices using VAR model. This study could help form the basis for more appropriate economic policies in the future. As the housing market is very important in Korean economy, any changes in house price affect the other markets, thereby resulting in a shock to the entire economy. Therefore, the analysis on the dynamic relationships between the housing market and economic variables will help with the decision making regarding the housing market policy.

포항분지 해상 중소규모 CO2 저장 실증연구 (Demonstration-scale Offshore CO2 Storage Project in the Pohang Basin, Korea)

  • 신기후체제 출범 이후 온실가스 감축목표 달성을 위한 대규모 $CO_2$ 직접 감축의 거의 유일한 방안으로 알려져 있는 대용량 $CO_2$ 지중저장의 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 포항 분지 해상 중소규모 $CO_2$ 지중저장 실증사업은 대규모 $CO_2$ 저장 사업에 필요한 핵심 기술을 우선적으로 확보하기 위해 추진하고 있는 연구개발 사업이다. 국내 저장 실증을 위한 $CO_2$ 저장소 확보를 위해 2010년부터 3년간 육상-연안 $CO_2$ 저장소 탐사 연구 과제를 수행하여, 한반도 동남부 육상 및 연안에 걸쳐 발달하고 있는 포항분지를 중소규모 $CO_2$ 지중저장 실증 후보지역으로 선정한 바 있다. 2013년부터는 포항분지 해상 지층을 대상으로 저장소 탐사, 탐사시추, 저장소 특성화, 저장 설계, 플랫폼 설계 및 설치, 주입공 시추 및 완결, 주입설비 설치, 주입 및 모니터링 등의 개별 기술 개발을 수행하였으며, 2017년 초 국내 기술력을 기반으로 해저 실증 저장소에 국내 최초로 $CO_2$ 시험주입 실증에 성공하였다. 향후에는 $CO_2$ 저장소 연속 운전 실증을 위한 수송체계 구축과 저장소 운영체계 확립 연구를 진행할 계획이다. 안전하고 효율적인 저장소 운영을 위해 상시 주입 모니터링 및 정기적인 거동 누출 환경 모니터링을 수행할 계획이며, 이를 위한 주입 전 모니터링을 완수하고 모니터링 체계를 구축하였다. 포항분지 해상 중소규모 $CO_2$ 지중저장 실증 연구를 통해 국내 대규모 CCS 통합실증 및 상용화 사업에 필요한 핵심적 $CO_2$ 저장 기술을 자립화 하였고, 성공적인 시험 주입으로 대규모 $CO_2$ 지중저장 사업의 기술적 경험적 기초를 확보하였다. 또한 본 연구 사업은 국제적으로 점차 확대되고 있는 $CO_2$ 지중저장 기술 시장에서 우리나라의 기술 경쟁력을 확보하는데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
