  • In this paper we introduce the concept of asymptotically almost negatively associated random variables in a Hilbert space and obtain the strong law of large numbers for a strictly stationary asymptotically almost negatively associated sequence of H-valued random variables with zero means and finite second moments. As an application we prove a strong law of large numbers for a linear process generated by asymptotically almost negatively random variables in a Hilbert space with this result.

  • A series of novel linear aromatic ether ketone polymers containing triazole units were synthesized by click chemistry and their structures and properties were characterized by FT-IR, $^1H$ NMR, GPC, TGA, DSC and WAXD. The results showed that these polymers exhibited relatively small molecular weights distributions, good thermal stability and solvent-repelling which could have potential applications as engineering thermoplastic.

  • An inexpensive and efficient catalyst system has been developed for the N-arylation of phenylurea including a variety of aryl halides. This simple protocol uses $Cu_2O$ as the catalyst, microwave assisted, solvent- and ligand-free, $K_3PO_4{\cdot}H_2O$ as the base.

  • A number of new 2,5-disubstituted 1,3,4-thiadiazole and their S- or N-substituted derivatives as well as the corresponding sugar hydrazone derivatives were synthesized and tested for their antimicrobial activity against Bacillus subtilis (Gram-positive), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Gram-negative), and Streptomyces species (Actinomycetes). The synthesized compounds displayed different degrees of antimicrobial activities or inhibitory actions.

  • Azido contained polymers were treated with various substituted N-propargyl tetrazoles in $CH_2Cl_2/H_2O$ at room temperature by Cu-catalyzed [2+3] cycloaddition to afford high yields of the corresponding polymers, possessing both triazole and tetrazole moiety.

  • Microsatellite SSR markers were developed and utilized to reveal the genetic diversity of 32 strains of Flammulina velutipes collected in Korea, China, and Japan. From the SSR-enriched library, 490 white colonies were randomly selected and sequenced. Among the 490 sequenced clones, 85 (17.35%) were redundant. Among the remaining 405 unique clones, 201 (49.6%) contained microsatellite sequences. We used 12 primer pairs that produced reproducible polymorphic bands for four diverse strains, and these selected markers were further characterized in 32 Flammulina velutipes strains. A total of 34 alleles were detected using the 12 markers, with an average of 3.42 alleles, and the number of alleles ranged from two to seven per locus. The major allele frequency ranged from 0.42 (GB-FV-127) to 0.98 (GB-FV-166), and values for observed ($H_O$) and expected ($H_E$) heterozygosity ranged from 0.00 to 0.94 (mean = 0.18) and from 0.03 to 0.67 (mean = 0.32), respectively. SSR loci amplified with GB-FV-127 markers gave the highest polymorphism information content (PIC) of 0.61 and mean allele number of five, whereas for loci amplified with GB-FV-166 markers these values were the lowest, namely 0.03 and two. The mean PIC value (0.29) observed in the present study with average number of alleles (3.42). The genetic relationships among the 32 Flammulina velutipes strains on the basis of SSR data were investigated by UPGMA cluster analysis. In conclusion, we succeeded in developing 12 polymorphic SSRs markers from an SSR-enriched library of Flammulina velutipes. These SSRs are presently being used for phylogenetic analysis and evaluation of genetic variations. In future, these SSR markers will be used in clarifying taxonomic relationships among the Flammulina velutipes.

  • Haliotis arabiensis Owen, Regter & Van Laethem, 2016 was found near Muscat city of Oman in the Sea of Oman in September 2021. A total of 85 abalone specimens were collected under small boulders from a depth of 2-5 m during the scuba diving survey from seven stations located from Sidab to Bandar Khairan. The shell length (SL) of the abalone ranged between 10.0 and 30.0 mm, on average 19.9 ± 0.22 mm SL. The sex was determined in 15 females and 21 males. The study presents photos and a comparative table with morphological descriptions of four abalone species (H. arabiensis, H. mariae, H. rugosa multiperforata and H. unilateralis) which are important for differentiating the small abalone species from juveniles of H. mariae during monitoring surveys of this important commercial species in Oman.

  • Mine tailings, field soils, and paddy soils around Jingok abandoned mine were analyzed In order to investigate their pollution levels of heavy metals and cyanide. The average contents of As, Cd, Cu. Hg. Pb, Zn, and CN ̄in mine tailings were 3.94$\times$$10^3$, 14.3, 266, 6.13, 4.07$\times$$10^3$, 2.51$\times$$10^3$, and 1.19mg/kg, respectively. The pollution indices calculated by the tolerance level of Kloke were 32~58 and the pH values were slightly acidic in mine tailings. In the field and paddy soils of Jingok abandoned mine area except for soils nearby mine tailings, concentrations of the heavy metals were less than standards of soil pollution of agricultural area in the environmental protection law.
