금인레이의 치은변연적합도에 관한 주사전자 현미경적 연구 (SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPIC STUDY OF THE JUNCTION BETWEEN GOLD INLAYS AND GINGIVAL CAVOSURFACE MARGINS)

  • Present - day inlay casting procedures have been developed for more than 100 years and experimentation has focused on the perfect adaptation to the cavity preparation. Marginal adaptation is considered to be an important indicator of the acceptability of the cast restotration, especially on the gingival margin. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a dissecting microscope and burnishing on vertical discrepancies, horizontal discrepancies, and cement thicknesson master die. Extracted premolars were prepared for class II gold inlays and master dies were made with conventional techniques. The experiments consisted of 4 groups. Group 1 : unaided eye, no burnishing on master die. Group 2 : unaided eye, burnishing on master die. Group 3 : microscope, no burnishing on master die. Group 4 : microscope, burnishing on master die. Cemented inlays were embedded in the hard resin and sectioned with microcutter through the gingival margins. The sectioned surfaces were polished with emery paper and finally with aluminum oxide powders. The results of the experiments were measured for vertical discrepancies, horizontal discrepancied and cement thickness under the scanning electron microscpe at the beveled gingival margin. The results of the study were summarized as follows. 1. Group 1 showed the vertical discrepancies of $81.6{\mu}m({\pm}48.6{\mu}m)$, horizontal discrepancies of $60.1{\mu}m({\pm}41.1{\mu}m)$, and cement thickness of $59.6{\mu}m({\pm}24.6{\mu}m)$. 2. Group 2 showed the vertical discrepancies of $78.6{\mu}m({\pm}30.9{\mu}m)$, horizontal discrepancies of $36.9{\mu}m({\pm}20.7{\mu}m)$, and cement thickness of $54.0{\mu}m({\pm}21.6{\mu}m)$. 3. Group 3 showed the vertical discrepancies of $57.5{\mu}m({\pm}26.4{\mu}m)$, horizontal discrepancies of $28.4{\mu}m({\pm}17.5{\mu}m)$, and cement thickness of $37.2{\mu}m({\pm}17.4{\mu}m)$. 4. Group 4 showed the vertical discrepancies of $56.7{\mu}m({\pm}35.0{\mu}m)$, horizontal discrepancies of $31.8{\mu}m({\pm}24.2{\mu}m)$, and cement thickness of $45.6{\mu}m({\pm}19.8{\mu}m)$. 5. Vertical discrepancies were not significantly different at any groups(p>.050). 6. Microscope groups(Group 3, 4) showed significantly improved horizontal marginal adaptation (p<.050). 7. Although cement thickness showed the subset of Group 3. 4, 2 and Group 4, 2, 1. Group 3 showed significantly smaller thickness than Group l(p<.050). 8. Finishing and polishing by means of a microscope produced significantly smaller discrepancies than doing so with the unaided eye(p<.050).

자돈사에서의 사이크론 먼지제거기의 집진효율 분석 (Dust Collecting Efficiency Using Cyclone Deduster in Weanned Piglet Building)

  • 무창형 이유자돈사의 분진의 특성을 조사하고 자돈사에서의 사이클론 집진기의 집진효율을 분석하기 위하여 18일령의 자돈사에 먼지제거기를 설치한 후 조사하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. TSP의 경우 아침 09:00~10:00 사이에 분진농도가 5,322$\mu g/m^3$으로 1차 피크를 형성했고 오후 19:00~12:00에 6,763$\mu g/m^3$로 2차 피크를 이루었으나 먼지제거기 가동시 08:00에 3,299$\mu g/m^3$, 18:30에 3,473$\mu g/m^3$으로 분진농도가 감소했다. 2. 분진 제거효율은 TSP의 대조구 3,614$\mu g/m^3$, 시험구 2,229.5$\mu g/m^3$로 38.3%의 분진제거효율을 보였으며, PM 10과 PM2.5는 각각 32.5%, 21.8%의 분진 제거효율이 있었다. 3. 숫자를 기준으로 한 분진의 크기별 분포는 시험구의 경우 0.745~1.08$\mu\textrm{m}$의 분진이 총 분진수의 53.5%를 차지하였고 대조구의 경우 0.985~1.19$\mu\textrm{m}$의 분진의 총 분진수의 58.1%를 차지했다. 4. 분진의 용적을 기준으로 하였을 경우 시험구에서는 23.4$\mu\textrm{m}$ 크기의 분진이 4.7%로 가장 높은 비율을 차지하였으며 대조구는 37.29$\mu\textrm{m}$ 크기의 분진이 5.1%로 가장 높았다. 5. 시험사료의 단백질 함량은 22%인데 비하여 분진은 25.9~32.7%로 높았으며 분진중의 중금속 함량도 사료에 비하여 높은 경향이었다.

A COMPARISON OF THE FIDELITY BETWEEN VARIOUS CORES FABRICATED WITH CAD/CAM SYSTEMS

  • STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: Recently, various all-ceramic crowns fabricated with CAD/CAM systems have come into wide use in dental clinic. However, there are only few domestic studies on CAD/CAM restorations. PURPOSE: Purpose of this study was to compare the fidelity (absolute marginal discrepancy and internal gap) between various cores fabricated with different CAD/CAM systems (Procera system, Lava system, Cerec inLab system) and conventional metal cast core. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 10 cores per each system were fabricated. The absolute marginal discrepancies were measured using measuring microscope and digital counter. The internal gaps were calculated using a silicone paste. The results were statistically analyzed using the one-way ANOVA test and Tukey's HSD test. RESULTS: Within the limits of this study the results were as follows. 1. The absolute marginal discrepancies were $32.5{\pm}3.7\;{\mu}m$ for metal cast core, $72.2{\pm}7.0\;{\mu}m$ for Procera core, $40.8{\pm}5.4\;{\mu}m$ for Lava core, and $55.3{\pm}8.7\;{\mu}m$ for Cerec inLab core. The internal gaps were $38.4{\pm}5.7\;{\mu}m$ for metal cast core, $71.4{\pm}5.3\;{\mu}m$ for Procera core, $45.9{\pm}7.3\;{\mu}m$ for Lava core, and $51.8{\pm}6.2\;{\mu}m$ for Cerec inLab core. 2. The fidelity of metal cast core showed the smallest gaps, followed by Lava core, Cerec inLab core, and Procera core. CONCLUSION: The fidelities of 4 core groups were all within the clinically acceptable range ($120\;{\mu}m$).

Morphologic and Genetic Evidence for Mixed Infection with Two Myxobolus Species (Myxozoa: Myxobolidae) in Gray Mullets, Mugil cephalus, from Korean Waters

  • The present study was performed to trace the decisive evidence for mixed infection of 2 Myxobolus species, M. episquamalis and Myxobolus sp., in the gray mullet, Mugil cephalus, from Korean waters. Mullets with whitish cyst-like plasmodia on their scales were collected near a sewage plant in Yeosu, southern part of Korea, in 2009. The cysts were mainly located on scales and also found in the intestine. The spores from scales were oval in a frontal view, tapering anteriorly to a blunt apex, and measured $7.2{\mu}m$ (5.8-8.0) in length and $5.3{\mu}m$ (4.7-6.1) in width. Two polar capsules were pyriform and extended over the anterior half of the spore, measuring $3.5{\mu}m$ (2.3-4.8) in length and $2.0{\mu}m$ (1.5-2.2) in width. In contrast, the spores from the intestine were ellipsoidal, $10.4{\mu}m$ (9.0-11.9) in length and $8.4{\mu}m$ (7.3-10.1) in width. The polar capsules were pyriform but did not extend over the anterior half of the spore, $3.7{\mu}m$ (2.5-4.5) in length and $2.2{\mu}m$ (1.8-2.9) in width. The nucleotide sequences of the 18S rDNA gene of the 2 myxosporean spores from scales and intestine showed 88.1% identity to each other and 100% identity with M. episquamalis and 94.5% identity with M. spinacurvatura from mullet, respectively. By the above findings, it is first confirmed that mullets from the Korean water are infected with 2 myxosporean species, M. episquamalis and Myxobolus sp.

재생 납 생산 공장과 인근 지역의 공기 중 납 농도 수준 비교 (Comparison of Airborne Lead Concentration in and Around Lead Production Plant)

  • Objective: This study is conducted to evaluate airborne lead concentration in and around lead production plant. Methods: Airborne lead concentration was monitored simultaneously inside of the processes of lead recycling factory and outside of factory which include stack, boundary of factory and residential area 1 km and 7.5 km from factory, respectively. All samples were measured three times at 1.5 m from the ground and analyzed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer or flame atomic absorption spectrometer. Results: All airborne lead concentrations measured inside of factory($13.9{\mu}g/m^3-252.9{\mu}g/m^3$) and outside of factory($0.001{\mu}g/m^3-54.97{\mu}g/m^3$) showed log-normal distribution. Geometric mean lead concentration, $54.81{\mu}g/m^3$, measured inside of factory was significantly higher than outside of factory, $0.20{\mu}g/m^3$(p<0.01). Among the samples measured inside the factory, lead concentration was the highest in the refining process($59.02{\mu}g/m^3-252.9{\mu}g/m^3$). In the case of the samples outside the factory, the nearest chimney was the highest($3.84{\mu}g/m^3-54.97{\mu}g/m^3$), and the lead concentration at the farthest place, 7.5 km from the factory was the lowest($0.001{\mu}g/m^3-1.7{\mu}g/m^3$). The arithmetic lead concentration, $0.45{\mu}g/m^3$ in the residential area near the factory was below the atmospheric environment standard of $0.5{\mu}g/m^3$, but the maximum concentration of $3.4{\mu}g/m^3$ was exceeded. Conclusions: Airborne lead concentration in residential area, 1 km away from lead recycling plant, may exceed ambient air standard of $0.5{\mu}g/m^3$.

Phytophthora nicotianae와 P. palmivora var. palmivora에 의한 아주까리 역병 (Leaf Blight of Castor Bean Caused by Phytophthora nicotianae and P. palmivora var palmivora)

  • 대구시 황금동 주택가에 자라는 아주까리에 발생한 역병(잎마름병)에서 2종의 Phytophthora 균이 분리되었다. 그 하나는 유두돌기가 뚜렷하고, 비탈락성이며, 난형 내지 서양 배 모양의 유주자낭을 형성하고, 그 크기는 31.2-58.5${\times}$25.4-44.1 $\mu\textrm{m}$의 범위에 평균 46.4$\pm$6.5${\times}$35.9$\pm$4.7 $\mu\textrm{m}$, 이주성(Heterothallic)으로서 장란기는 둥글고, 직경 22.5-35.0$\mu\textrm{m}$ 범위에 평균 30$\pm$3.3$\mu\textrm{m}$,그 안의 난포자는 충만형이었으며, 직경 18.8-30.0$\mu\textrm{m}$ 범위에 평균 25.4$\pm$2.8$\mu\textrm{m}$ 이었다. 장정기는 장란기에 저착하였다. 이 종은 Phytophthora nicotianae로 동정되었다. 다른 하나의 종은 유두돌기가 뚜렷하고, 탈락성이며, 난형 내지 타원형, 기부에 자루가 붙어있는 유주자낭을 형성하였으며, 그 크기는 21.5-54.6${\times}$l7.6-34.3$\mu\textrm{m}$ 범위에 41.7$\pm$7.1${\times}$28.4$\pm$4.0$\mu\textrm{m}$, 이주성이었으며, 장란기는 구형, 직경 21.3-26.8$\mu\textrm{m}$ 범위에 평균 23.0$\pm$1.6$\mu\textrm{m}$, 난포자는 충만형, 직경 17.5-23.8$\mu\textrm{m}$ 범위에 평균 20.2$\pm$1.8$\mu\textrm{m}$, 장정기는 저착하였다. 이 종은 P. palmivora (Butler) Butler로 동정되었다. 2종 모두 후막포자를 형성하였다. 이들 2종 Phytophthora 균은 아주까리 유묘의 잎에 강한 병원성을 나타내었다. 이들 2종에 의한 아주까리 역병의 발생은 외국에서는 이미 보고되어 있으나 국내에서는 처음이다.

Cd$^{2+}$ 에 의한 닭의장풀의 식물 독성에 Indole acetic acid가 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) on Cd$^{2+}$_induced Physiological Toxicities in Commelina communis L.)

  • 3주간 정상적으로 생장한 닭의장풀을 Hoagland용액 ($\pm 100 \mu M \;Cd^{2+}, 100 \mu M \;Cd^{2+}+10 \mu M\;IAA,100 \mu M\; Cd^{2+}+100 \mu M \; IAA,100 \mu M \; Cd^{2+} +1 \mu M \; IAA)$에서 3주간 수경재배 한 후 생장, 기공개폐, 엽록소 함유량, 엽록소 형광 및 수분퍼텐셜을 조사하였다. Hoagland용액에 $Cd^{2+}$ 처리시 3주 동안 2.0 cm 생장했으나, 대조구는 7.0 cm생장했다. 반면에 카드뮴에 10$\mu$M IAA를 같이 처리한 경우는 3주 동안 3.7 cm자랐으며, 100 $\mu$M IAA를 같이 처리하면 3주 동안 5 cm그리고 1mM IAA의 경우는 3.3 cm 생장하였다. $Cd^{2+}$은 기공열림을 촉진하였으며, 아울러 IAA첨가는 $Cd^{2+}$을 단독처리 한 경우보다 기공열림을 더 촉진하였다. 엽록소 함량의 변화는 $Cd^{2+}$ 처리구에서 뚜렷하게 관찰되었다. Cd$^{2+}$ 처리구는 대조구에 비해 3주 때 엽록소 함량이 13%억제되었다. $Cd^{2+}$과 IAA를 함께 처리한 경우는 10 $\mu$M과 100 $\mu$M에서는 뚜렷한 엽록소 함량의 변화가 관찰되지 않았다. 1 mM IAA 처리구에서는 약 9% 엽록소 함량이 감소하였다. 모든 처리구에서 정상적인 엽록소 a/b비율을 보여주었으나, $Cd^{2+}$처리구에서 3주 배양한 경우 2.38을 보여주었다. Fv/Fm 측정 결과 $Cd^{2+}$ 처리는 Fv/Fm값에 영향을 주었다. 카드뮴 처리 1주에는 큰 변화가 없었으나,2주와 3주 처리시에는 대조구에 비해 각각 9%와 11% 억제되었다. $Cd^{2+}$처리시 약 3주 후에 약 67%가 수분퍼텐셜이 감소하였다. 반면에 $Cd^{2+}$에 IAA를 다양한 농도에서 첨가하면 수분퍼텐셜의 변화는 미미하였다. 위의 결과들로부터 IAA는 식물의 생장, 엽록소 함량,Fm/Fv그리고 수분퍼텐셜에서 $Cd^{2+}$에 의한 심각한 독성을 뚜렷하게 완화시키는 것으로 사료된다.

청자갈치(Bothrocara hollandi)의 근육에 기생하는 점액포자충Myxobolus aeglefini (Myxozoa: Myxobolidae) (Myxobolus aeglefini (Myxozoa: Myxobolidae) infection in muscles of porous-head eelpout (Bothrocara hollandi))

  • 동해안에서 어획된 청자갈치 (Bothrocara hollandi)의 체측 근육에 유백색의 불투명한 시스트를 형성하고 있는 점액포자충이 발견되었다. 시스트를 마쇄하여 광학현미경으로 관찰해본 결과, 원형에 가까운 점액포자충의 성숙 포자가 관찰되었다. 성숙 포자의 평균 길이는 $11.9(11.0{\sim}13.5){\mu}m$, 평균 폭은 $11.6(10.7{\sim}13.6){\mu}m$, 평균 두께는 $7.8(6.9{\sim}8.8){\mu}m$이었다. 극낭의 평균 길이는 $4.4(3.2{\sim}5.3){\mu}m$이었으며, 평균 폭은 평균 $3.3(2.4{\sim}4.2){\mu}m$이었다. 감염숙주와 성숙포자의 형태학적 특징, 각 부위의 측정값으로부터 본 연구에서 발견된 점액포자충은 Myxobolus aeglefini Auerbach 1906으로 동정하였다. 또한 18S rDNA sequences를 이용한 계통분석 결과 M. albi와 M. groenlandicus와 같은 분지에 속하는 것이 확인되었으며 각각 97.7%와 96.9%의 상동성을 나타내었다.

Leaf Blight of Ailanthus altissiman Caused by Phytophthora boehmeriae

  • A leaf blight disease was found on Ailanthus altissiman growing in the Manchon Mountain Park in Daegu city. When isolated, the causal fungus readily formed sex organs, being homothallic. Oogonia were spherical, 19.5-42.9 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in diameter with an average of 29.4$\pm$4.2 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Antheridia were amphigynous, round to ovoid, and measured 11.3-15.0 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ long and 12.5-14.5 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ wide. Oospores in the oogonia were spherical, 26.1-29.0 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in diameter. Sporangia that formed in water were spherical to sub-spherical with a conspicuous papilla and measured 19.5-56.6 ${\times}$ 15.6-44.9 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ with an average of 44.0$\pm$8.7${\times}$32.7$\pm$6.3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. The mean length/breadth (I/b) ratio was 1.35. Papillae were 3.9-11.7 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$l high and 3.9-9.8 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ wide. Sporangia formed slowly on V8 juice agar medium when cultured under fluorescent light at 12-hour alternation. The sporangia that formed on the agar medium were more spherical and measured 26.5-39.0${\times}$23.4-35.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ with an average of 33.6$\pm$3.4${\times}$28.2$\pm$3.2 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and I/b ratio of 1.19. Disease symptom was repro-duced by artificial inoculation of the healthy plants with the isolate. The causal organism was identified as Phyto-phthora boehmeriae on the basis of its morphological characteristics.

도금업 근로자의 혈청과 공기중 크롬 및 니켈 농도 (Chromium and nickel concentrations in air and in serum of workers in chromium and nickel electroplating plants)

  • The exposure level of chromium and nickel for chrome and nickel plating workers were evaluated. Chromium and nickel concentrations in serum from 82 exposed workers and 66 controls, who were not exposed occupationally to metals, were analyzed by flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The results were as follows : 1. The recovery percent of chromium and nickel concentrations in personal air samples were 95-108.2%, 88.0-107.7%, precisions (C.V., %) were 2.7-3.1%, 2.1-4.4%. respectively. 2. The recovery percent of chromium and nickel concentrations in serum were 93.6-106.4%, 91.3-107.9% and precisions (C.V. %) were 1.1-7.6%, 2.4-5.4% respectively. 3. The exposure level of chromium and nickel concentrations in the place of preparation process were $2.0{\pm}2.00{\mu}g/m^3$, chromplating were $35.7{\pm}53.07{\mu}g/m^3$, $2.8{\pm}3.42{\mu}g/m^3$, nickelplating were $4.6.0{\pm}5.8{\mu}g/m^3$, $18.62{\pm}4.41{\mu}g/m^3$, and covering were $2.9{\pm}2.02{\mu}g/m^3$, $1.1{\pm}0.47{\mu}g/m^3$ respectively. There were significant difference of concentrations for chromium and nickel in workplaces by groups statistically. 4. Chromium concentrations in serum of exposed group and control were $0.68{\pm}0.399{\mu}g/l$, $1.41{\pm}0.748{\mu}g/l$, respectively. There were significant difference of concentrations for chromium and nickel in serum by groups statistically. 5. Chromium and nickel concentrations in serum of exposed group were not significant by workplaces.
