  • The design of a gate driver power supply for a three-phase inverter using a silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET. The requirements for the power supply circuit of the gate driver for the SiC MOSFET are investigated, and a flyback converter using multiple transformers is used to make the four isolated power supplies. The proposed method has the advantage of easily constructing the power supply circuit in a limited space as compared with a multi-output flyback converter using a single core. The power supply circuit for the three-phase SiC MOSFET inverter for driving an AC motor is designed and implemented. The operation and validity of the implemented circuit are verified through simulations and experiments.

  • 종전의 평균전력이론은 3상 불평형과 같은 전원전압 조건에 따라 능동전력필터의 보상기준전류가 결정적으로 영향을 받는 문제점이 있다. 이와 같은 불평형된 능동전력 필터의 보상전류는 결과적으로 불평형이 되는 원인이 된다. 본 연구에서는 불평형 전원 하에서도 유효전력과 기본파 무효전력의 동기 검출법에 입각하여 비선형 부하전류의 유효성분과 기본파 무효성분 그리고 왜형 성분을 각각 독립적으로 분해가 가능한 평균전력 이론을 제시하였다. 제안된 이론은 간단한 평균전력 이론을 기반으로 하고 잇기 때문에 우선 이해사기 쉽고 구현이 간단하다는 장점이 있다. 본 연구 에서는 고속의 DSP(digital signal processor)에 의하여 이와 같은 문제을 어느정 도 해결할 수있었다. 제안된 방법의 타당성을 입증하기 위해서 TMS320C31-DSP기반의 전력분석 시스템을 제작하였다. b상 전압이 15% 불평형된 3상 3전 전원하에서 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 수행한 결과 종전의 방법에 비하여 제안된 알고리즘의 유용성을 입증할수 있었다.

  • This paper describes a design method of grid-connected photovoltaic power generation systems with three phase inverter. A 3-phase 50kW photovoltaic power generation system including a DC/AC inverter is designed and made in order to investigate the system performance for grid connection. Also the control scheme of a three phase current-controlled PWM inverter is presented by using d-q transformation. The experimental waveforms show that the proposed system has stable behavior with an unit power factor in utility-interactive operation.

A Frequency-Tracking Method Based on a SOGI-PLL for Wireless Power Transfer Systems to Assure Operation in the Resonant State

  • Wireless power transfer (WPT) technology is now recognized as an efficient means of transferring power without physical contact. However, frequency detuning will greatly reduce the transmission power and efficiency of a WPT system. To overcome the difficulties associated with the traditional frequency-tracking methods, this paper proposes a Direct Phase Control (DPC) approach, based on the Second-Order Generalized Integrator Phase-Locked Loop (SOGI-PLL), to provide accurate frequency-tracking for WPT systems. The DPC determines the phase difference between the output voltage and current of the inverter in WPT systems, and the SOGI-PLL provides the phase of the resonant current for dynamically adjusting the output voltage frequency of the inverter. Further, the stability of this control method is analyzed using the linear system theory. The performance of the proposed frequency-tracking method is investigated under various operating conditions. Simulation and experimental results convincingly demonstrate that the proposed technique will track the quasi-resonant frequency automatically, and that the ZVS operation can be achieved.

  • In this paper, space voltage vector pulsewidth modulation for 2-phase inverter is proposed. When this method is appled to 2-phase induction motor, the phase difference of voltage between phase A and B is fixed at $90^{\circ}$and amplitude of voltage of phase Ais same with that of phase B. This method have advantages over low-power servo system because this is simple method comparing to 3-phase space vector method which requires d-q transform.

인터리브 방식 삼상 절연형 고효율 부스트 컨버터 (Three-Phase Interleaved Isolated High Efficiency Boost Converter)

  • 이 논문은 새로운 인터리브 방식 삼상 절연형 고효율 부스트 컨버터를 제안한다. 이 컨버터는 삼상 전력변환 방식을 채택하여 보다 큰 전력전송 능력을 갖으며 각 상의 rms 전류값이 작으므로 전도손실도 작다. 이에 더하여, 삼상 부스트 컨버터의 인터리브 동작으로 인하여 입력 전류 리플이 줄어들고, 실효 동작 주파수의 증가로 필터소자의 크기가 작아져서 높은 전력밀도를 갖는다. 부스트 컨버터 출력의 각 상 전류는 제안된 3 상 PWM 구동방식에 따라 전류 연속모드로 동작하여 3 상 변압기로 통합된다. 이 컨버터는 전도손실이 작아 96% 이상의 효율로 동작하며 능동클램프의 작용으로 스위칭 손실도 역시 작다. 제안된 컨버터와 PWM 구동방식을 분석 및 시뮬레이션 하고 하드웨어로 제작하였다. 제작된 시제품을 500 W 급으로 실험하여 모든 설계검증 및 해석을 실시하였다.

Two-Switch Auxiliary Resonant DC Link Snubber-Assisted Three-Phase Soft Switching PWM Sinewave Power Conversion System with Minimized Commutation Power Losses

  • This paper presents a high-efficient and cost effective three-phase AC/DC-DC/AC power conversion system with a single two-switch type active Auxiliary Resonant DC Link (ARDCL) snubber circuit, which can minimize the total power dissipation. The active ARDCL snubber circuit is proposed in this paper and its unique features are described. Its operation principle in steady-state is discussed for the three phase AC/DC-DC/AC converter, which is composed of PWM rectifier as power factor correction (PFC) converter, sinewave PWM inverter. In the presented power converter system not only three-phase AC/DC PWM rectifier but also three-phase DC/AC inverter can achieve the stable ZVS commutation for all the power semiconductor devices. It is proved that the proposed three-phase AC/DC-DC/AC converter system is more effective and acceptable than the previous from the cost viewpoint and high efficient consideration. In addition, the proposed two-switch type active auxiliary ARDCL snubber circuit can reduce the peak value of the resonant inductor injection current in order to maximize total system actual efficiency by using the improved DSP based control scheme. Moreover the proposed active auxiliary two-switch ARDCL snubber circuit has the merit so that there is no need to use any sensing devices to detect the voltage and current in the ARDCL sunbber circuit for realizing soft-switching operation. This three-phase AC/DC-DC/AC converter system developed for UPS can achieve the 1.8% higher efficiency and 20dB lower conduction noise than those of the conventional three-phase hard-switching PWM AC/DC-DC/AC converter system. It is proved that actual efficiency of the proposed three-phase AC/DC-DC/AC converter system operating under a condition of soft switching is 88.7% under 10kw output power.

New Resonant AC Link Snubber-Assisted Three-Phase Soft-Switching PWM Inverter and Its Comparative Characteristics Evaluations

  • This paper presents a novel prototype of three-phase voltage source type zero voltage soft-switching inverter with the auxiliary resonant snubbers suitable for high-power applications with IGBT power module packages in order to reduce their switching power losses as well as electromagnetic conductive and radiative noises. A proposed single inductor-assisted resonant AC link snubber circuit topology as one of some auxiliary resonant commutation snubbers developed previously to achieve the zero voltage soft-switching (ZVS) for the three-phase voltage source type sinewave PWM inverter operating under the instantaneous space voltage vector modulation is originally demonstrated as compared with the other types of resonant AC link snubber circuit topologies. In addition to this, its operation principle and unique features are described in this paper. Furthermore, the practical basic operating performances of the new conceptual instantaneous space voltage vector modulation resonant AC link snubber-assisted three-phase voltage source type soft-switching PWM inverter using IGBT power module packages are evaluated and discussed on the basis of switching voltage and current waveforms, output line to line voltage quality, power loss analysis, actual power conversion efficiency and electromagnetic conductive and radiative noises from an experimental point of view, comparing with those of conventional three-phase voltage source hard-switching PWM inverter using IGBT power modules.

Control Method for Fault-Tolerant Active Power Filters

  • New direct and indirect current control methods for a fault-tolerant active power filter topology are presented in this paper. Since a three-phase four-switch topology has a phase bridge current which cannot be directly controlled, a hysteresis control method in the α-β plane which controls the three-phase current in the two-phase stationary coordinate system is proposed. The improved SVPWM algorithm is able to eliminate the operation of the trigonometric functions in the traditional algorithm by rotating the α-β coordinates and alternating the sequence of the output vectors, which in turn simplifies the algorithm and reduces the switching frequency. The selection of the DC-side reference voltage and DC-side capacitor equalization strategy are also discussed. Simulation and experiments demonstrate that the proposed control method is correct and feasible.

  • 본 논문에서는 3상 저주파 변압기를 이용한 절연형 멀티레벨 인버터를 제안한다. 제안된 인버터는 3상 절연형 변압기를 이용함으로 비절연형 멜티레벨 인버터와 달리 단일 직류 전원을 사용할 수 있는 장점이 있으며, 기존의 단상 변압기를 이용한 3상 멀티레벨 인버터에 비하여 변압기의 수를 줄일 수 있다. 또한 출력 기본주파수와 동일한 스위칭 주파수로 동작하는 스위칭 각 제어 방식을 통하여 출력 전압의 저차 고조파 성분과 스위치 손실을 줄일 수 있었다. Matlab을 이용한 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통하여 제안된 방식의 타당성을 검증 하였다.
