태양광발전의 운용효율 향상을 위한 DC/DC 전압 레귤레이터의 구현 및 특성분석 (Implementation and Characteristic Analysis of DC/DC Voltage Regulator for Operation Efficiency Improvement in PV system)

  • 최근, 전 세계적으로 신 재생에너지에 대한 관심이 증가됨에 따라 친환경적이고 무한한 태양에너지를 이용하는 태양광 발전의 설치가 매년 급증하고 있다. 그러나, 태양광발전시스템은 일반적으로 태양광 전지에서 발생한 에너지로부터 전력변환장치(DC/AC)를 거쳐 계통연계 지점까지 약 25[%]의 전력손실을 발생시키고 있다. 이 전력손실 가운데, 일부 태양광 모듈에 음영이나 환경변화(일사량, 온도, 습도 등)로 인해 스트링의 출력 전압이 인버터의 동작전압보다 낮아지면 해당 스트링이 동작하지 않아 전체의 발전효율이 감소하거나, 최악의 경우 인버터가 탈락되어 계통의 출력 전력이 저하되는 등의 손실이 큰 부분을 차지하고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 상기의 문제점을 개선하기 위하여, 각각의 스트링별로 DC/DC 전압 레귤레이터를 도입하여 환경변화에 따른 전압 저하로 발생하는 스트링의 탈락을 방지하는 제어방식을 제시하였고, 기존 인버터의 MPPT(P&O) 제어와 정전압 제어기능을 전압 레귤레이터에서 수행하는 방식을 채택하였다. 또한, 제안한 알고리즘을 바탕으로 2kW급의 전압 레귤레이터를 구현하여 기존의 운용방식과 비교, 분석한 결과, 환경변화에 따른 다양한 시나리오에서 제안한 운용방식의 운용효율이 크게 향상됨을 확인하였다.

3상 직렬형 능동필터의 입력전압변동에 대한 전향보상이득에 관한 연구 (A Study on Gain of Feedforward Compensator about Source Voltage Variation of Three-phase Series Active Power Filter)

  • Recently, as the development of industry, the nonlinear load becomes increased. Because of nonlinear load, the variation of source voltage is generated by the impedace of source side flowed harmonic currents. For blocking harmonic currents by nonlinear load, a series active power filter operates blocking resistance of harmonic currents. The value of blocking resistance shows ideal compensating characteristic out of theoretically infinite value. But the blocking resistance is limited by the problem of the system stability and the capacity of inverter. In this paper, the value of optimum blocking resistance is found by a simulation in the applied system. In the case of unbalanced source voltages, each relation of the blocking resistance is shown. It is proved that blocking resistance of series active power filter relates to a passive filter.

  • The variable speed engine generator set is interested for an isolated power system due to reduced fuel consumption and less emission. However, because of sluggish dynamic behavior of the internal combustion engine the power quality would be degraded during the sudden load power surge, where the power required by the load is not available by the engine due to the reduced engine speed. An isolated power system based on variable speed engine with a super-capacitor bank improves dynamic characteristics under sudden load change, and power quality, fuel consumption, and pollutants can be reduced remarkably. Also, it is verified by the computer simulation that the inverter of 3phase-4leg is compatible to the isolated power system with unbalanced load. In this paper, the feasibility of the system has been verified based on a 26kw commercial diesel engine system.

  • 3상 계통 연계 형 인버터 시스템은 낮은 THD를 가지는 계통 전류를 공급해주기 위해 LCL 필터를 사용한다. LCL 필터를 사용하는 가장 큰 장점은 낮은 스위칭 주파수에서도 만족할 만한 수준의 THD를 가지는 계통 전류를 생성시킬 수 있다는 점이다. 반면에, 단점은 LCL필터를 포함하는 계통 연계 형 인버터 시스템의 전달함수에 하나의 공진 극점이 존재한다는 점이다. 이것은 계통 전류 제어 loop에서, 안정성 문제에 영향을 미친다. 정확한 제어를 위해서 시스템의 전달함수는 필수적이다. 여기서 중요한 점은 많은 저자들이 시뮬레이션과 실험을 할 때, 중성점이 없는 회로에서 행하지만 회로 해석을 할 때에는 중성점이 있는 회로에서 해석을 한다는 점이다. 그래서 우리는 등가 델타회로에서 LCL 필터를 포함한 전체 시스템의 수학적인 모델을 제안한다. 이 모델은 모든 인덕터와 커패시터의 기생 저항을 고려한다. 또한 이 논문은 계통 전류를 제어하기 위한 제어기의 해석적인 설계 절차를 포함한다. 제안한 수학적인 모델을 입증하기 위해, PSIM을 통한 시뮬레이션과 Simulink를 통한 시뮬레이션 결과를 비교하였다.

농형유도 풍력발전기의 성능개선을 위한 에너지저장장치의 동작특성 분석 (Operational Analysis of Energy Storage System to Improve Performance of Wind Power System with Induction Generator)

  • This paper presents an active and reactive power compensator for the wind power system with squirrel-cage induction generator. The output power of a wind power system changes irregularly according to the variation of wind speed. The developed system is able to continuously compensate the active and reactive power. The 3-phase inverter operates for the compensation of reactive power, while the DC/DC converter with super-capacitors operates for the compensation of active power. The operational feasibility of the proposed model was verified by simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC and the feasibility of hardware implementation was confirmed by experimental works with a scaled hardware model. The proposed compensator can be expected that developed system may be used to compensated the abrupt power variation due to sudden change of wind speed or sudden power-drop by tower effect. It can be also applied for the distributed generation and the Micro-Grid.

엔진-발전기 시스템 모델링 및 제어특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study upon Modeling and Control of Coupled Engine and Generator System)

  • Modeling of engine-generator system and its control responses are investigated using high performance generator controller. The nonlinear engine is modeled using mean torque production model based on experimental engine map. In case of diesel engine. the amount of injected fief is decided by engine controller depending on the APS(Acceleration Position Sensor) value. An electromechanical generator model contains electrical circuits and moment of inertia. The generator controller maximizes the performance of generator using decoupling and linearized current feedback control. The generator control system consists of 3-phase IGBT inverter and controller board based on 32 bit floating point DSP. Field oriented control algorithm with digital current feedback control at 10kHz sampling enabled high performance torque and speed control of induction machine. Not only the steady state but also the transient state responses can be evaluated through a batch test of the engine generator system. Developed engine and generator modeling and control can be utilized in various applications such as Series Hybrid Electric Vehicle(SHEV), engine-generator for emergency, and other hybrid generation systems.

  • This paper presents harmonic evaluation of an IAT(Intra Airport Transit) system in Incheon International Airport. It will be used electric vehicles with 80 kW per car that are produced Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, and one car is constructed with SIV(Static Inverter), VVVF controller and two induction motor. The operated vehicles in the IAT system are rapidly changing DC load and at a feeding substation, 3-phase electric power is transferred to DC 750 V by rectifier. Since, vehicles are also changing continuously, the voltages for the load fluctuate in the IAT system, and moreover, the fluctuating voltages generate high-order har -monies. This means that there is the difficulty in maintaining power quality in KEPCO systems' side. Therefore, the power quality of the IAT system in Incheon International Airport is evaluated using PSCAD/EMTDC simulator in the paper The THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) of voltages and TDD(Total Demand Distortion) of currents, indices are calculated for the IAT system using the results of PSCAD/EMTDC dynamic simulation.

  • In this paper, two types of DC/DC converters in a hydrogen fuel cell hybrid railway vehicle system, which serve to charge high-voltage battery and supply power to an inverter for driving a driving motor, were compared and analyzed. A two-level interleaving boost converter and a three-level boost converter were compared and analyzed, and a theoretical design method was proposed to have an efficiency characteristic of over 95%. In addition, a digital controller design method considering the digital phase delay component of DSP (TMS320F28335) is presented. Finally, the validity of the theoretical design of the converter with 20kW power was verified through static and dynamic experiments respectively.

A Novel High-Performance Strategy for A Sensorless AC Motor Drive

  • The sensorless AC motor drive is a popular topic of study due to the cost and reliability of speed and position sensors. Most sensorless algorithms are based on the mathematical modeling of motors including electrical variables such as phase current and voltage. Therefore, the accuracy of such variables largely affects the performance of the sensorless AC motor drive. However, the output voltage of the SVPWM-VSI, which is widely used in sensorless AC motor drives, has considerable errors. In particular, the SVPWM-VSI is error-prone in the low speed range because the constant DC link voltage causes poor resolution in a low output voltage command and the output voltage is distorted due to dead time and voltage drop. This paper investigates a novel high-performance strategy for overcoming these problems in a sensorless ac motor drive. In this paper, a variation of the DC link voltage and a direct compensation for dead time and voltage drop are proposed. The variable DC link voltage leads to an improved resolution of the inverter output voltage, especially in the motor's low speed range. The direct compensation for dead time and voltage drop directly calculates the duration of the switching voltage vector without the modification of the reference voltage and needs no additional circuits. In addition, the proposed strategy reduces a current ripple, which deteriorates the accuracy of a monitored current and causes torque ripple and additional loss. Simulation and experimentation have been performed to verify the proposed strategy.
