OTFT용 용액공정의 에틸렌-브리지드 실세스퀴옥산 게이트 절연체 (Solution-Processed Gate Insulator of Ethylene-Bridged Silsesquioxnae for Organic Field-Effect Transistor)

  • Ethylene-bridged silsesquioxane resins were synthesized from two monomers: 1,2-bis(trimethoxysilyl)ethane and methyltrimethoxysilane. The silsesquioxane thin films were spin-coated from the copolymerized resins on silicon wafer. Metal insulator metal (MIM), metal insulator semiconductor (MIS) devices were utilized to investigate the electrical properties of the copolymerized thin films. As the films were inserted as gate insulator in the OTFT devices, the field effect mobilitites were evaluated by employing Poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) as organic semiconductor, which shows that their dielectric properties and mobility values are dependent on the molecular structures and Si-OH concentration involving in the films.

다층구조를 적용한 백색 전계발광소자의 발광효율 향상 (Enhancement of Emission Efficiency of Multilayer White Light Organic Electroluminescent Device)

  • We fabricated organic electroluminescent(EL) devices with mixed emitting layer of poly(N-vinylcarbazole)(PVK), 2,5-bis(5'-tert-butyl-2-benzoxazoly)thiophene(BBOT), N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-(3-methyphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4, 4'-diarnine(TPD) and poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT). To improve the external quantum efficiency of EL devices, we added the functional layer to the devices such as LiF insulating layer, carrier confinement layer(BBOT) and hole injection layer(CuPc). In the ITO/emitting layer/Al device, the maximum quantum efficiency at 15V was $1.88{\times}10^{-5}%$. And then, it is increased by a factor of 27 to $5.2{\times}10^{-3}%$ in ITO/CuPc/emitting layer/BBOT/LiF/Al device at 15V.

Nanoscale Charge Transport in P3HT:PCBM:Gold Nanoparticle Composite Materials for Polymer Solar Cell Application

  • Recently, conjugated polymer solar cells have attracted a great deal of attention. In this work, we applied the various scanning probe techniques to characterize composite materials typically used to fabricate polymer solar cells: poly-3(hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) and P3HT/PCBM/Au nanoparticle (NP) samples. The latter is studied due to the idea of using the gold NP surface plasmon to enhance the optical absorption of the composite films. AFM is used to characterize the film morphology whereas conducting AFM is used to study the charge transport properties at the nanoscale. We found that there is a direct correlation between the nanoscale charge transport measurements and the device efficiencies.

ZnO nanostructures 이용한 유/무기 하이브리드 태양전지의 특성평가

  • 차세대 대체에너지로서 유기태양전지는 저비용, flexible한 장점이 있다. 그러나 에너지 효율이 상대적으로 낮아 고효율 유기태양전지 개발이 필요하다. 이 문제를 개선하기위해 본 실험에서는 전기화학적인 방법으로 ZnO 나노구조체 (nanowire, film)를 ITO위에 전착하였다. ZnO 나노구조체는 Poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT):[6,6]-Phnyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM)에서 엑시톤된 전자와 홀의 charge collector와 electron path way로서 사용되었다. 유/무기 하이브리드 태양전지의 구조는 Ag/P3HT:PCBM/(A)/ITO로 사용하였으며 (A)는 (1) ZnO nanowire/ZnO film (2)ZnO nanowire (3)ZnO film으로, 각각의 효율을 측정하였다. 생성된 ZnO 나노구조를 FE-SEM, XRD, TEM, UV/vis로 분석하였고 AM1.5G SUN을 기준으로 하여 Solar simulator로 효율을 측정하였다. 측정결과 Jsc값의 증가를 효율이 향상됨을 알 수 있었다.

The influence of glycerol doped PEDOT: PSS and Ag buffer layer on power conversion efficiency of semitransparent organic photovoltaic devices

  • By using optimum doping ratio (10 ~ 20 wt%) of glycerol, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of organic photovoltaic devices based on poly (3-hexylthiophene) and phenyl-$C_{61}$-butyric acid methyl ester was dramatically increased from 3.23% to 5.03%. Finally, semitransparent organic photovoltaic devices including glycerol doped poly (3,4-ethylenedioxy-thiophene):poly (styrene sulfonate) and thin Ag (< 1 nm) buffer layer typically have shown PCE > 3% with transmittance > 30% in visible ranges.

Effect of Thermal Annealing of Gravure Printed Polymer Solar Cells

  • Polymer solar cells were fabricated with gravure printing process and the effect of thermal annealing of gravure printed organic layer was investigated. The layer structure of polymer solar cells is glass / ITO / hole transfer layer / active layer / Al structure was fabricated. For the active layer, 1:1 ratio of poly-3-hexylthiophene (P3HT) and [6,6]-phenyl C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) mixture was applied. The P3HT/PCBM blend was gravure printed onto the substrates. The effect of thermal annealing was investigated by changing annealing time and the number of printing. Maximum 3.6% of power conversion efficiency was achieved with gravure printing of organic layer and thermal annealing in this work.

Exciplex를 이용한 백색 유기 전계발광소자의 발광특성 (Emission Properties of White Light Emission Organic Electroluminescent Device using Exciplex Emission)

  • We report the white light emission from the multilayer organic electroluminescent(EL) device using exciplex emission. The exciplex at 500nm originated between poly(N-vinylcarvazole)(PVK) and 2,5-bis(5'-tert-butyl-2-benzoxazoly)thiophene(BBOT) and exciplex of 50nm originated from N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-(3-methyphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine(TPD) and BBOT were observed. Also, the energy transfer from PVK to BBOT and poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT) in mixed emitting materials was occurred. The electroluminescence(EL) spectra of organic EL device which have a device structure of ITO/CuPc(5nm)/emitting layer(100nm)/BBOT(30nm)/LiF(1.4nm)/Al(200nm) were slightly changed as a function of the applied voltage. The luminance fo 12.3 ${\mu}$W/$\textrm{cm}^2$ was achieved at 20V and EL spectrum measured at 20V corresponds to Commission Internationale de L\`Eclairage(CIE) coordinates of x=0.29 and y=0.353.

  • In this paper, we demonstrate polymer thin-film transistors (TFTs) on a paper-based flexible substrate. As a substrate, commercially available photo-paper is used with Parylene coating. The parylene layer enables conventionally used wet chemical process and vacuum deposition processes for electrodes and gate insulator. As an active channel layer, we used poly-3-hexylthiophene (P3HT) which is solution process. Field effect mobility up to $(0.06 {\pm} 0.02) cm^2/Vs$ and on/off ratio of $10^3 {\~}10^4$ are achieved on a photo-paper.

누설 전류 감소를 위한 나노복합체를 사용한 비휘발성 메모리 소자의 전기적 특성

  • 솔루션 공정을 이용하여 제작된 유기물 나노 입자를 포함한 유기물 나노 복합재료를 기반으로 제작한 비휘발성 메모리 소자들은 저렴한 가격, 간단한 공정, 저전력 소비의 장점으로 차세대 메모리 소자로서 많은 연구가 진행 되고 있다. 비휘발성 메모리 소자는 poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) 층과 polymethylsilsesquioxane (PMSSQ)와 graphene quantum dots (GQD)를 혼합한 층을 사용 하여 구성하였다. 세척된 indium-tin-oxide (ITO) 기판 위에 혼합된 PMSSQ/GQD를 스핀코팅 방법으로 증착한 후 열처리 하였다. Chlorobenzene 속에서 혼합된 P3HT를 스핀코팅 방법으로 증착한 후 열처리 하였다. 알루미늄 전극을 상부 전극으로 증착하였다. 제작된 소자의 300 K에서의 전류-전압을 측정 결과는 윈도우 마진이 크게 나오는 것을 알 수 있었다. 누설전류의 감소와 내구성 및 유지성에 대한 성질을 특정한 결과 소자가 안정적으로 동작하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Lateral p-n junction Diode with organic single crystal by direct printing

  • We fabricate organic single crystal nanowire heterojunction p-n diode poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT) and from Phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester(PCBM) using by liquid-bridge mediated nanotransfer molding(LB-nTM) method. LB-nTM has been reported an one step direct printing method for making well-aligned nanowire arrays. Moreover, multi-patterning nanostructures can be fabricated with the consecutive printing process. As a result, it is possible to make simple and basic concept of heterojunction devices such as lateral organic p-n nanojunction diode. P3HT/PCBM nanowires heterojunction diode has rectifying behavior with on/off ratios of ~20.
