Anglicisms in the Field of Information Technology: Analysis of Linguistic Features

  • The role that English currently plays is undeniable. It has become the most common means of communication among native speakers of several languages around the world. English penetrates into all areas of people's daily lives. In the field of Information Technology (IT), English has taken a dominant position, as many of the terms used on a daily basis are written in English. The purpose of the article is to analyze the linguistic features of anglicisms in the field of Information Technology. Methods. The research is based on systematic and comparative analysis, dialectical method, as well as methods of classification and generalization. Results. This study presents the results of compiling a multilingual glossary with anglicisms used in the GitHub and 3D Slicer fields. Despite the limited number of terms included in the glossary, the article provides a lot of evidence for the influence of the English language in the areas of Information Technology, GitHub and 3D Slicer under consideration. The types of anglicisms used in the 3D Slicer area seem to be more diverse than in the GitHub area. This study found that five European languages use language strategies to solve any communication problem. The multilingual glossary showed that in some cases there is a coexistence between Anglicism and the native term. In other cases, the English term is the only one used in different languages. There are cases when only the native language is used. Conclusions. This study is a useful tool that helps to improve the efficiency of communication between engineers and technicians who speak different native languages. The ultimate goal of this research will be to create a multilingual glossary that is still under development and is likely to cover other IT areas such as Python and VTK.

  • The future of human life is expected to be innovative by increasing social, economic, political and personal, including all areas of life across the multi-disciplinary skills. Particularly, in the field of robotics and next-generation games with robots, by multidisciplinary contributions and interaction, convergence between technology is expected to accelerate more and more. The purpose of this study is that by new interface model beyond the technical limitations of the "human-robot interface technology," until now and time and spatial constraints and through fusion of various modalities which existing human-robot interface technologies can't have, the research of more reliable and easy free "human-robot interface technology". This is the research of robot game system which develop and utilizing real time synchronization engine linking between biped humanoid robot and the behavior of the position value of mobile device screen's 3D content (contents), robot (virtual robots), the wireless protocol for sending and receiving (Protocol) mutual information and development of a teaching program of "Direct Teaching & Play" by the study for effective teaching.

Position Control of Dual Redundant Asymmetric Tandem Electro-Hydrostatic Actuator for Aircraft based on Backstepping Technique (백스테핑 기법을 이용한 항공기용 이중화 비대칭형 직렬 전기-정유압 구동기의 위치제어)

  • The electro-hydrostatic actuators (EHA) are widely used in various industrial fields since they can independently execute the function of the hydraulic power source and have high efficiency. Particularly, in the aviation field, the EHA is mainly designed as dual redundant asymmetric tandem actuator to mitigate failure and minimize installation space. However, aviation EHAs designed in the form of dual redundant asymmetric tandem actuator have the disadvantage of decreased durability performance due to the occurrence of force fighting. In this paper, the controller is designed based on backstepping technique to improve control performance and reduce force fighting for aviation EHA. The augmented state observer is proposed to estimate the states required for control. Through simulation, it was verified that the proposed controller had superior control performance and significantly reduces the force fighting compared to the general PI controller.

Uncertainty Analysis of Observation Matrix for 3D Reconstruction (3차원 복원을 위한 관측행렬의 불확실성 분석)

  • Statistical optimization algorithms have been variously developed to estimate the 3D shape and motion. However, statistical approaches are limited to analyze the sensitive effects of SfM(Shape from Motion) according to the camera's geometrical position or viewing angles and so on. This paper propose the quantitative estimation method about the uncertainties of an observation matrix by using camera imaging configuration factors predict the reconstruction ambiguities in SfM. This is a very efficient method to predict the final reconstruction performance of SfM algorithm. Moreover, the important point is that our method show how to derive the active guidelines in order to set the camera imaging configurations which can be expected to lead the reasonable reconstruction results. The experimental results verify the quantitative estimates of an observation matrix by using camera imaging configurations and confirm the effectiveness of our algorithm.

  • We have constructed a new kind of magnetic motion capture sensor based on the pulse magnetic field method. 3-orthogonal magnetic pulse fields were generated in turns only one period of sinusoidal waveform using 3-orthogonal magnetic dipole coils, ring counter and analog multiplier. These pulse magnetic fields were measured with 3-orthogonal search coils, of which induced voltages by the x-, y-, and l-dipole sources using S/H amplifier at the time position of maximum induced voltage. Using the developed motion capture sensor, we can measure position of sensor with uncertainty of ${\pm}$0.5% in the measuring range from ${\pm}$0.5 m to ${\pm}$1.5 m.

  • Mobile device, one of typical devices in ubiquitous environment, is received attention owing to portability. In these days, technical researches on a kind of the device are focusing on applications of smart phone. For example, the techniques using geographical position and applied instances such as augmented reality techniques are gradually increasing. That makes data processing important. Mobile application services for users also require various application techniques based on moving objects. In addition, they require the techniques that processed data are needed to be shown in visualization. However, this is reality that it lacks of showing visualization works to improve the understanding of thing what it is. To reduce or solve the problems, in this paper we show the results to implement the R tree based 3 dimension index architecture in visualization. Further, we implemented and present creating objects, showing in 3D for the objects, catching spatial position on a node map through mini map function and improving the understanding of R tree by visualizing.

The Kinematic Analysis of the Rybalko Motion on the Horizontal Bar (철봉 리발코(Rybalko) 동작의 운동학적 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was done in order to investigate the Kinematical variables of the Rybalko motion on the Horizontal bar using the 3-dimensional cinematographic method. For this study, three excellent athletes take part in a 2003 Daegue universid game were chosen. The subject,s Rybalko motion was filmed with S-VHS camera at the speed of 60 fields per second and digitized the each fields. And the Kwon3D 3.1 version program was employed to obtain 3-dimensional data. As a result of this study. 1. A total time spent for performing Rybalko skill was Mean $2.52{\pm}0.13sec$. From starting down swing to releasing right hand the Mean $0.84{\pm}0.24sec$ was taken. 2. In the event 3 of Rybalko motion, that is, the moment which the right-hand is released on the bar, the center of mass must is employed at the position above the horizontal line of bar. In this research, the average vertical displacement(z axe) of center of mass shows $47.87{\pm}3.14cm$. 3. In the event 5, that is, the moment which the right-hand is catched again on the bar, the center of mass is employed at the position before the vertical line of bar. In this research, the average horizontal displacement(z axe) of center of mass shows $47.87{\pm}3.14cm$. 4. It has been seen that, at the moment of release of right-hand, lateral variation of center of mass is 13.395cm, vertical variation of center of mass is 7.41cm Thus, it is concluded that lateral variation of center of mass should be reduced for high grade to be acquired. 5. It has been founded that high speed of down swing influences speed of up swing, and that, in the motion of twist, the horizontal speed is little changed.

The New X-ray Induced Electron Emission Spectrometer

  • The new spectrometer for X-ray Induced Electron Emission Spectroscopy (XIEES) .has been recently developed in KRISS in collaboration with PTI (Russia). The spectrometer allows to perform research using the XAFS, SXAFS, XANES techniques (D.C.Koningsberger and R.Prins, 1988) as well as the number of techniques from XIEES field(L.A.Bakaleinikov et all, 1992). The experiments may be carried out with registration of transmitted through the sample x-rays (to investigate bulk samples) or/and total electron yield (TEY) from the sample surface that gives the high (down to several atomic mono-layers in soft x-ray region) near surface sensitivity. The combination of these methods together give the possibility to obtain a quantitative information on elemental composition, chemical state, atomic structure for powder samples and solids, including non-crystalline materials (the long range order is not required). The optical design of spectrometer is made according to Johannesson true focusing schematics and presented on the Fig.1. Five stepping motors are used to maintain the focusing condition during the photon energy scan (crystal angle, crystal position along rail, sample goniometer rail angle, sample goniometer position along rail and sample goniometer angle relatively of rail). All movements can be done independently and simultaneously that speeds up the setting of photon energy and allows the using of crystals with different Rowland radil. At present six curved crystals with different d-values and one flat synthetic multilayer are installed on revolver-type monochromator. This arrangement allows the wide range of x-rays from 100 eV up to 25 keV to be obtained. Another 4 stepping motors set exit slit width, sample angle, channeltron position and x-ray detector position. The differential pumping allows to unite vacuum chambers of spectrometer and x-ray generator avoiding the absorption of soft x-rays on Be foil of a window and in atmosphere. Another feature of vacuum system is separation of walls of vacuum chamber (which are deformed by the atmospheric pressure) from optical elements of spectrometer. This warrantees that the optical elements are precisely positioned. The detecting system of the spectrometer consists of two proportional counters, one scintillating detector and one channeltron detector. First proportional counter can be used as I/sub 0/-detector in transmission mode or by measuring the fluorescence from exit slit edge. The last installation can be used to measure the reference data (that is necessary in XANES measurements), in this case the reference sample is installed on slit knife edge. The second proportional counter measures the intensity of x-rays transmitted through the sample. The scintillating detector is used in the same way but on the air for the hard x-rays and for alignment purposes. Total electron yield from the sample is measured by channeltron. The spectrometer is fully controlled by special software that gives the high flexibility and reliability in carrying out of the experiments. A Study on the Reproduction of 3-Dimensional Building Model from Single High Resolution Image without Meta Information (메타정보 없는 단일 고해상도 영상으로부터 3차원 건물 모델 생성에 관한 연구)

  • We expanded the 3D building information extraction method using shadow and vertical line from single high resolution image with meta information into the method for single high resolution image without meta information. Our method guesses an azimuth angle and an elevation angle of the sensor and the sun using reference building, selected by user, on an image. For test, we used an IKONOS image and an image extracted from the Google Earth. We calculated the Root Mean Square (RMS) error of heights extracted by our method using the building height extracted from stereo IKONOS image as reference, and the RMS error from the IKONOS image and the Google Earth image was under than 3 m. We also calculated the RMS error of horizontality position by comparison between building position extracted from only the IKONOS image and it from 1:1,000 digital map, and the result was under than 3 m. This test results showed that the height pattern of building models by our method was similar with it by the method using meta information.

Automatic Generation of Clustered Solid Building Models Based on Point Cloud (포인트 클라우드 데이터 기반 군집형 솔리드 건물 모델 자동 생성 기법)

  • In recent years, in the fields of smart cities and digital twins, research on model generation is increasing due to the advantage of acquiring actual 3D coordinates by using point clouds. In addition, there is an increasing demand for a solid model that can easily modify the shape and texture of the building. In this paper, we propose a method to create a clustered solid building model based on point cloud data. The proposed method consists of five steps. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a method to create a clustered solid building model based on point cloud data. The proposed method consists of five steps. In the first step, the ground points were removed through the planarity analysis of the point cloud. In the second step, building area was extracted from the ground removed point cloud. In the third step, detailed structural area of the buildings was extracted. In the fourth step, the shape of 3D building models with 3D coordinate information added to the extracted area was created. In the last step, a 3D building solid model was created by giving texture to the building model shape. In order to verify the proposed method, we experimented using point clouds extracted from unmanned aerial vehicle images using commercial software. As a result, 3D building shapes with a position error of about 1m compared to the point cloud was created for all buildings with a certain height or higher. In addition, it was confirmed that 3D models on which texturing was performed having a resolution of less than twice the resolution of the original image was generated.
