Temporal bone trauma can cause hearing loss and in case of prolonged conductive hearing loss, traumatic ossicular injury should be considered. Separation of the incudostapedial joint is the most common lesion, and stapediovestibular dislocation is relatively rare but can easily cause perilymphatic fistula. Here, we report a very rare case of external stapediovestibular dislocation after trauma, ending up with successful surgical outcome. A 27-year-old man with non-progressive hearing loss on the right side since childhood visited the clinic. Audiogram showed a conductive hearing loss with air-bone gap of 55 dB on the right side. Temporal bone CT revealed the disruption of ossicular chain. An exploratory tympanotomy identified multiple ossicular disruptions including external stapediovestibular dislocation with shiny fibrous membrane sealing the oval window. Ossicular chain reconstruction was performed using the total ossicular replacement prosthesis of titanium. A postoperative audiogram showed a recovery of air-bone gap less than 10 dB. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case of external long-standing stapediovestibular dislocation, with oval window completely sealed with fibrous membrane, ending up with successful hearing recovery by surgery. This case would help dealing with such condition which can be encountered in the clinic.

Increasing interest in the metaverse world these days, interest in realistic content such as 3D displays is growing. In particular, hologram images seen in movies provide viewers with an immersive display that cannot be seen in conventional 2D images. Since the first discovery of holography by Dennis Gabor in 1948, this technology has developed rapidly. Spatially, this beginning of technology like Optical hologram called analog hologram and Digital hologram such as computer-generated hologram (CGH). In analog and digital holograms, a recording angle and a recording wavelength are having important role when reproducing and display hologram. In the hologram, diffraction of light causes by unexpected formed by the synthesis from interference with object and reference light. When recording, the incident light information and mismatched reproduction light reconstruct the hologram in an undesirable direction. Reproduction light that is out of sync with incident light information with initial condition of recording will cause reconstructed image in an undesirable direction. Therefore, we analyze the holographic interference pattern generated by hologram recording in volume holograms using photopolymer and analyze the characteristics that vary depending on the angle of the reproduced light. This is expected to be used as a basic research on various holographic application that may cause as holograms are applied to industries in the future.
Magnetic resonance neurography (MRN) is increasingly used to visualize peripheral nerves in vivo. However, the implementation and interpretation of MRN in the brachial and lumbosacral plexi are challenging because of the anatomical complexity and technical limitations. The purpose of this article was to review the clinical context of MRN, describe advanced magnetic resonance (MR) techniques for plexus imaging, and list the general categories of utility of MRN with pertinent imaging examples. The selection and optimization of MR sequences are centered on the homogeneous suppression of fat and blood vessels while enhancing the visibility of the plexus and its branches. Standard 2D fast spin-echo sequences are essential to assess morphology and signal intensity of nerves. Moreover, nerve-selective 3D isotropic images allow improved visualization of nerves and multiplanar reconstruction along their course. Diffusion-weighted and diffusion-tensor images offer microscopic and functional insights into peripheral nerves. The interpretation of MRN in the brachial and lumbosacral plexi should be based on a thorough understanding of their anatomy and pathophysiology. Anatomical landmarks assist in identifying brachial and lumbosacral plexus components of interest. Thus, understanding the varying patterns of nerve abnormalities facilitates the interpretation of aberrant findings.
We reviewed 30 patients with tetralogy of Fallot who had underwent transannular patch reconstruction of the right ventricular outflow tract from January 1990 to May 1993. The patients were divided into two groups according to the approaching pattern for the corrective surgery: 12 patients[aged 11 months to 4 years; mean age, 2.3 years] in transatrial group who were repaired by transatrial-transpulmonary approach; 18 patients[aged 13 months to 6 years; mean age, 3.2 years] in transventricular group who were repaired by transventricular approach. The incidence of postoperative right bundle branch block was not statistically different between two groups. With follow up from 3 months to 32 months after operation, none in transatrial group revealed a remnant RVOT stenosis over 50mmHg or tricuspid regurgitation more than grade II with 2D-echocardiography, but two cases[7.7%] in transventricular group revealed these complications. Early postoperative death was 4 cases[13.3%] which all belonged to transventricular group. In conclusion successful repair of tetralogy of Fallot can be accomplished in most patients by transatrial-transpulmonary approach and we can anticipate better results by this approach in terms of postoperative right ventricular function and arrhythmia than conventional transventricular approach.

Purpose : Skip the repetitive HRCT axial scan in order to reduce the exposure of patients during chest HRCT scan, Helical Scan Data into a reconstructed image, and exposure of the patient change and visually evaluate the usefulness of the HRCT images. Materials and method : Patients were enrolled in the survey are 50 people who underwent chest CT scans of patients who presented to the hospital from January 2015 to March 2015. 50 people surveyed 22 people men and 28 people women people showed an average distribution of 30 to 80 years age was 48 years. 50 patients to Somatom Sensation 64 ch (Siemens) model with 120 kVp tube voltage to a reference mAs tube current to mAs (Care dose, Siemens) as a whole, including the lungs and the chest CT scan was performed. Scan upon each patient CARE dose 4D (Automatic exposure control, Siemens Medical Solution Erlangen, Germany) was to maintain the proper radiation dose scan every cross-section through a device that automatically adjusts the tube current of. CT scan is the rotation time of the Tube slice collimation, slice width 0.6 mm, pitch factor was made under the terms of 1.4. CT scan obtained after the raw data (raw data) to the upper surface of the axial images and coronal images for each slice thickness 1 mm, 5 mm intervals in the high spatial frequency calculation method (hight spatial resolution algorithm, B60 sharp) was the use of the lung window center -500 HU, windows were reconstructed into images in the interval -1000 HU to see. Result : 1. Measure the total value of DLP 50 patients who proceed to chest CT group A (Helical Scan after scan performed with HRCT) and group B (Helical Scan after the HR image reconstruction to the original data) compared with the group divided, analysis As a result of the age, but show little difference for each age group it had a decreased average dose of about 9%. 2. A Radiation read the results of the two Radiologist and a doctor upper lobe and middle lobe of the lung takes effect the visual evaluation is not a big difference between the two images both, depending on the age of the patient, especially if the blood vessels of the lower lobe (A: 3.4, B: 4.6) and bronchi(A: 3.8, B4.7) image shake caused by breathing in anxiety (blurring lead) to the original data (raw data) showed that the reconstructed image is been more useful in diagnostic terms. Conclusion : Scan was confirmed a continuous, rapid motion video to get Helical scan is much lower lobe lung reduction in visual blurring, Helical scan data to not repeat the examination by obtaining HRCT images reorganization reduced the exposure of the patient.

In this paper, we propose a normalized cross correlation(NCC)-based multiview background subtraction method which is robust when an object and background have similar color. When the background of the capturing environment is not artificially composed, the regions in the background images which would be occluded by an object tends to have difference colors. The colors of those regions, however, becomes similar when an object enters the capturing environment. Based on this assumption, this paper proposes a concept of GoNCC(Graph of Normalized Cross Correlation). GoNCC is the distribution of NCC between a pixel in an image and pixels related by epipolar constraints with the pixel. The proposed multiview background subtraction method is performed by comparing GoNCC of the current images with the background images. To reduce computational complexity, we perform multiview background subtraction only to the pixels undetermined by single view background subtraction. Experimental results show that the proposed method is more robust to color similarity between an object and background than a single-view background subtraction method and a previous multiview background subtraction method.
Purpose: To generate phase images with free of motion-induced artifact and susceptibility-induced distortion using 3D radial ultrashort TE (UTE) MRI. Materials and Methods: The field map was theoretically derived by solving Laplace's equation with appropriate boundary conditions, and used to simulate the image distortion in conventional spin-warp MRI. Manufacturer's 3D radial imaging sequence was modified to acquire maximum number of radial spokes in a given time, by removing the spoiler gradient and sampling during both rampup and rampdown gradient. Spoke direction randomly jumps so that a readout gradient acts as a spoiling gradient for the previous spoke. The custom raw data was reconstructed using a homemade image reconstruction software, which is programmed using Python language. The method was applied to a phantom and in-vivo human brain and abdomen. The performance of UTE was compared with 3D GRE for phase mapping. Local phase mapping was compared with T2* mapping using UTE. Results: The phase map using UTE mimics true field-map, which was theoretically calculated, while that using 3D GRE revealed both motion-induced artifact and geometric distortion. Motion-free imaging is particularly crucial for application of phase mapping for abdomen MRI, which typically requires multiple breathold acquisitions. The air pockets, which are caught within the digestive pathway, induce spatially varying and large background field. T2* map, that was calculated using UTE data, suffers from non-uniform T2* value due to this background field, while does not appear in the local phase map of UTE data. Conclusion: Phase map generated using UTE mimicked the true field map even when non-zero susceptibility objects were present. Phase map generated by 3D GRE did not accurately mimic the true field map when non-zero susceptibility objects were present due to the significant field distortion as theoretically calculated. Nonetheless, UTE allows for phase maps to be free of susceptibility-induced distortion without the use of any post-processing protocols.

X-ray images are wildly used in medical applications, and these can be more efficiently find scoliosis which is appearing during the growth of human skeleton than others. This research is focused on the calibration of X-ray image and three-dimensional coordinate determination of objects. Three-dimensional coordinate of objects taken by X-ray are determined by two step procedure. Firstly, interior and exterior orientation parameters are determined by camera calibration using Primary Calibration Object (PCO) which has two sides with embedded radiopaque steel ball. Secondly, calibration cage coordinates which is composed of two acrylic sheets that are perpendicular to X-ray source are determined by the parameters. Three-dimensional coordinates of calibration cage determined by photogrammetric technique are compared with that of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). Though the accuracy analysis, X direction which is parallel to X-ray source error values are relatively higher than those of Y and Z directions. But, the accuracies of Y and Z axis are approximately -3 mm to 3 mm. From the research results, it is considered that photogrammetric technique is applied to determine three-dimensional coordinates of patients or assist to make medical devices.
This paper proposes an efficient walktlu-ough animation from two images of the same scene. To make animation easily and fast, Tour Into the Picture(TIP) enables walkthrough animation from single image but lacks the reality of its foreground object when the viewpoint moves from side to side, and view morphing uses only 2D transition between two images but restricts its camera path on the line between two views. By combining advantages of these two image-based techniques, this paper suggests a new virtual navigation technique which enable natural scene transformation when the viewpoint changes in the side-to-side direction as well as in the depth direction. In our method, view morphing is employed only in foreground objects , and background scene which is perceived carelessly is mapped into cube-like 3D model as in TIP, so as to save laborious 3D reconstruction costs and improve visual realism simultaneously. To do this, we newly define a camera transformation between two images from the relationship of the spidery mesh transformation and its corresponding 3D view change. The result animation shows that our method creates a realistic 3D virtual navigation using a simple interface.
