In this paper, the design of a dual-polarization rectangular microstrip patch antenna with high isolation between two feeding ports excited by using both an aperture-coupled feed (port 1) and a 3-dimensional microstrip feed (port 2) is presented. From the simulation using the commercial program IE3D, the optimum values of the antenna parameters are investigated at both two feed structures and the optimum antenna is designed and fabricated. Experimental results confirmed that an bandwidth of the antenna is about 17 % and the isolation of two ports is great than 30 dB over all frequency bands.
An analytical study was conducted to characterize the fatigue crack growth behavior of pre-cracked aluminum plates repaired with asymmetric bonded composite patch. For single-sided repairs, due to the asymmetry and the presence of out-of$.$plane bending, crack front shape would become skewed curvilinear started from a uniform through-crack profile, as observed from Previous studies. Therefore, for the accurate investigation of fatigue behavior, it is necessary to predict the actual crack front evolution and take it into consideration in the analysis. In this study, the fatigue analysis of single-sided repairs considering crack front shape development was conducted by implementing three-dimensional successive finite element method coupled with linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) concept, which enables the growing crack front to be directly traced and modeled in a step by step way. Through conducting present analysis technique, crack path of the patched plate as well as the fatigue life was evaluated with sufficient accuracy. The analytical predictions of both the crack front shape evolution and the fatigue life were in good agreement with the experimental observations.

In this paper, the small chip meander antenna for dual-frequency operation is presented. The proposed chip meander antennas was fabricated by the ceramic chip using LTCC-MLC process. It is a novel compact dual-frequency design using a meandered patch that achieves more degrees of freedom for adjusting dual-frequency operation and the size reduction with narrow frequency ratio. And it is proposed that the 3D structure for additional size reduction of the meander antenna. The size reduction of the 3D meander antenna is as large as 50 % as compared to the design for dual-frequency operation not using 3D structure. It is observed that the principle of dual-frequency operation through current distribution, return loss and radiation pattern.

Algorithms for intrinsic images reduce color differences in RGB images caused by the temperature of black-body radiators. Based on the reference light and detecting single invariant direction, these algorithms are weak in real images which can have multiple invariant directions when the scene illuminant is a colored illuminant. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a method of acquiring an intrinsic image by omnidirectional projection of an ROI and a translation of white patch in the ${\chi}$-chromaticity space. Because it is not easy to analyze an image in the three-dimensional RGB space, the ${\chi}$-chromaticity is also employed without the brightness factor in this paper. After the effect of the colored illuminant is decreased by a translation of white patch, an invariant direction is detected by omnidirectional projection of an ROI in this chromaticity space. In case the RGB image has multiple invariant directions, only one ROI is selected with the bin, which has the highest frequency in 3D histogram. And then the two operations, projection and inverse transformation, make intrinsic image acquired. In the experiments, test images were four datasets presented by Ebner and evaluation methods was the follows: standard deviation of the invariant direction, the constancy measure, the color space measure and the color constancy measure. The experimental results showed that the proposed method had lower standard deviation than the entropy, that its performance was two times higher than the compared algorithm.

In this paper, the high gain and broadband antenna operating for SDMB(Satellite Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) system is realized, The proposed antenna consists of the SAP(Shorted Annular Patch) structure, which inhibits surface-wave and the parasitic SAP element with spacing of $0.25 {\lambda}_0$ in order to improve gain, bandwidth and directivity. The RHCP(Right Hand Circular Polarization) is generated by two slits, which are made along the periphery of the circular patch at the diametrically opposite points, The simulated maximum gain of the proposed antenna is 12.6 dBi, which is better 5.22 dBi than maximum gain of the conventional microstrip patch antenna. The measured maximum gain is 10.5dBi at operating frequency 2.63GHz. Also, the measured impedance bandwidth$(VSWR{\leq}2)$ of the proposed antenna is $360MHz(2.488{\sim}2.848 GHz)$, which is better 300 MHz than the bandwidth of the conventional microstrip patch antenna. The measured HPBW(Half Power Beam Width) of the proposed antenna is $45.8^{\circ}$, and the measured FBR(Front to Back Ratio) is 15.49 dBi, The 3dB axial ratio bandwidth is 220 MHz$(2.54{\sim}2.76 GHz)$.

In this paper, an efficient computational algorithm for the implementation of the newly proposed node activation technique is presented, and its computational aspects are thoroughly investigated. To verify the validity, convergence, and efficiency of the node activation technique, various numerical examples are worked out including the problems of Poisson equation, 2D elasticity problems, and 3D elasticity problems. From the numerical tests, it is verified that one can arbitrarily activate and handle the nodal points of interest in finite element model with very little loss of the numerical accuracy.

Printed microstrip antennas are known to have limitations in terms of bandwidth and efficiency all imposed by the presence of the dielectric substrate. In this paper, to overcome these limitations, rather than using a superstrate geometry, the printed circuit is etched out of metal and supported in "strategic points" by(metallic or nonmetallic) post. The main motivation for this work was to obtain the wide bandwidth microstrip antennal which exhibits a higher efficiency than conventional ones. In this paper, to increase the bandwidth, patch sizes, electrical thickness and impedance matching are considered.

Research on developing algorithms for building modeling such as extracting outlines of the buildings and segmenting patches of the roofs using aerial images or LiDAR data are active. However, utilizing information from the building model is not well implemented yet. This study aims to propose a scheme for search identical or similar shape of buildings by utilizing graph topology pattern matching under the assumptions: (1) Buildings were modeled beforehand using imagery or LiDAR data, or (2) 3D building data from digital maps are available. Side walls, segmented roofs and footprints were represented as nodes, and relationships among the nodes were defined using graph topology. Topology graph database was generated and pattern matching was performed with buildings of various shapes. The results show that efficiency of the proposed method in terms of reliability of matching and database structure. In addition, flexibility in the search was achieved by altering conditions for the pattern matching. Furthermore, topology graph representation could be used as scale and rotation invariant shape descriptor.

Nowadays, the 3D community is actively researching on 3D imaging and free-viewpoint video (FVV). The free-viewpoint rendering in multi-view video, virtually move through the scenes in order to create different viewpoints, has become a popular topic in 3D research that can lead to various applications. However, there are restrictions of cost-effectiveness and occupying large bandwidth in video transmission. An alternative to solve this problem is to generate virtual views using a single texture image and a corresponding depth image. A critical issue on generating virtual views is that the regions occluded by the foreground (FG) objects in the original views may become visible in the synthesized views. Filling this disocclusions (holes) in a visually plausible manner determines the quality of synthesis results. In this paper, a new approach for handling disocclusions using depth based inpainting algorithm in synthesized views is presented. Patch based non-parametric texture synthesis which shows excellent performance has two critical elements: determining where to fill first and determining what patch to be copied. In this work, a noise-robust filling priority using the structure tensor of Hessian matrix is proposed. Moreover, a patch matching algorithm excluding foreground region using depth map and considering epipolar line is proposed. Superiority of the proposed method over the existing methods is proved by comparing the experimental results.
