The spread of satellite image increases various services using it. Especially, 3D visualization services of the whole earth such as $Google\;Earth^{TM}$ and $Virtual\;Earth^{TM}$ or 3D GIS services for several cities provide realistic geometry information of buildings and terrain of wide areas. These service can be used in the various fields such as urban planning, improvement of roads, entertainment, military simulation and emergency response. The research about extracting the building and terrain information effectively from the high-resolution satellite image is required. In this paper, presents a system for effective extraction of the building model from a single high-resolution satellite image, after examine requirements for building model extraction. The proposed system utilizes geometric features of satellite image and the geometric relationship among the building, the shadow of the building, the positions of the sun and the satellite to minimize user interaction. Finally, after extracting the 3D building, the fact that effective extraction of the model from single high-resolution satellite will be show.
Geographic information system (GIS) geography reference it talks the software system which is possible. When like this geographic information system in key feature trying to observe the problem which is an expression of geography information in the center, the research and development with 3 dimension expressions is active from 2 dimension expressions of existing and it is advanced. double meaning geography information which is huge to be quick, the place where it controls efficiently there is a many problem, the ring from the dissertation which it sees and 3 dimensions and efficient scene of the GIS rendering compared to the ring from hazard image base modeling and rendering compared to hazard proposal LDI (Layered Depth Images) it uses GIS rendering compared to the ring to sleep it does. It acquired the terrain data of 3 dimensions from thread side base method. terrain data of 3 dimensions which are acquired like this the place where it has depth information like this depth information in base and the LDI, it did it created. Also it was a traditional modeling method and 3DS-Max it used and it created the LDI. It used LDI information which is acquired like this and the GIS of more efficient 3 dimensions rendering compared to the possibility of ring it was.

LiDAR(Light Detection and Ranging) data acquired from ALS(Airborne Laser Scanner) has been intensively utilized to reconstruct object models. Especially, researches for 3D modeling from LiDAR data have been performed to establish high quality spatial information such as precise 3D city models and true orthoimages efficiently. To reconstruct object models from irregularly distributed LiDAR point clouds, sensor calibration, noise removal, filtering to separate objects from ground surfaces are required as pre-processing. Classification and segmentation based on geometric homogeneity of the features, grouping and representation of the segmented surfaces, topological analysis of the surface patches for modeling, and accuracy assessment are accompanied by modeling procedure. While many modeling methods are based on the segmentation process, this paper proposed to extract key points directly for building modeling without segmentation. The method was applied to simulated and real data sets with various roof shapes. The results demonstrate feasibility of the proposed method through the accuracy analysis.

The interpretation of resistivity data has, so far, mainly been made under the assumption that the earth is of relatively simple structure and then using one or two-dimensional inversion scheme. Since real earth structure and topography are fully three-dimensional and very complicated In nature, however, such assumptions often lead to misinterpretation of the earth structures. In such situations, three-dimensional inversion is probably the only way to get correct image of the earth. In this study, we have developed a three-dimensional inversion code using the finite element solution for the forward problem. The forward modeling algorithm simulates the real field situation with irregular topography. The inverse problem is solved iteratively using the least-squares method with smoothness constraint. Our inversion scheme employs ACB (Active Constraint Balancing) to enhance the resolving power of the inversion. Including Irregular surface topography in the inversion, we can accurately define the earth structures without artifact in the numerical tests. We could get reasonable image of earth structure by Inverting the real field data sets taken over highway bridge construction site.
To achieve mine development, a large amount of data concerned with the geological structure and the ore body had to be investigated and collected through geological survey, drilling and geophysical explorations. In most previous cases, however, the data were usually analyzed two dimensionally and those results showed some limits because of their 2D presentation. Those 2D maps such as geological plane sections or longitudinal sections cause lots of difficulties in understanding the complex geological structure or the feature of ore body in a spatial way. In this study, research area was set on the abandoned Yangyang iron mine in Korea and the Sugaeng ore body within the mine was selected as the research target to design a mine haulage system for reopening. A 3D mine model of this area was tried to be constructed using a 3D modelling software, GEMS. An accurate 3D model including the ore body, the geological structure, the old underground mine drifts and the new mine drifts was constructed under the purpose of reopening of the abandoned iron mine. Especially, mine design for trackless haulage system was conducted. New inclines and drifts were planned and modelled 3 dimensionally considering the utilization of old drifts and shaft. In addition to the 3D modelling, geostatistical technique was adopted to generate a spatial distribution of the ore grade and the rock physical properties. 3D model would be able to contribute in solving problems such as evaluating ore reserves, planning the mine development and additional explorations and changing the development plans, etc.

Recently demand for the 3D modeling technology to reconstruct real world is getting increasing. However, existing geospatial data are mainly based on the 2D space. In addition, most of the geospatial data provide geometric information only. In consequence, there are limits in various applications to utilize information from those data and to reconstruct the real world in 3D space. Therefore, it is required to develop efficient 3D mapping methodology and data for- mat to establish geospatial database. Especially digital elevation model(DEM) is one of the essential geospatial data, however, DEM provides only spatially distributed 3D coordinates of the natural and artificial surfaces. Moreover, most of DEMs are generated without considering terrain properties such as surface roughness, terrain type, spatial resolution, feature and so on. This paper suggests adaptive and flexible geospatial data format that has possibility to include various information such as terrain characteristics, multiple resolutions, interpolation methods, break line information, model keypoints, and other physical property. The study area was categorized into mountainous area, gently rolling area, and flat area by taking the terrain characteristics into account with respect to terrain roughness. Different resolutions and interpolation methods were applied to each area. Finally, a 3D digital map derived from aerial photographs was integrated with the geospatial data and visualized.
For precise interpretation of magnetotelluric (MT) data distorted by irregular surface terrain, topography effects are investigated by computing apparent resistivities, phases, tippers and induction vectors for a three-dimensional (3D) hill-and-valley model. To compute MT responses for the 3D surface topography model, we use a 3D MT modeling algorithm based on an edge finite-element method which is free from vector parasites. Distortions on the apparent resistivity and phase are mainly caused by distorted currents that flow along surface topography. The distribution of tipper amplitudes over both hill and valley are the same, while the tipper points toward the center of hill and the base of the valley. The real part of induction vector also points in the same direction as that of tipper, while the imaginary part in the opposite direction.

The modelling technique on the terrain of real-world in geo-spatial information system is a primary element for geo-information processing. This paper is designed to make use of TIN in geo-spatial information system and study the development and application of high-precision 3-D spatial analysis technique applied to terrain features. According to this research, MODEL 3 applied to breakline in mild slope/steep slope and MODEL 2 applied to peak in complex region show relatively low RMSE. This consequence proves that these two models have high precision in comparison with other models. This study also finds out optimal routines in the estimation method of slope grade and in the construction method of surface. N_T, LSP_T and LSQ_T in mild slope, N_T in steep slope, and LSQ_T in complex region turn out to be the optimal routines for high-precision 3-D spatial analysis.

The improvement of the performance in laser radar simulation requires fast retrievals of the spatial locations and attributes of objects in response to the laser signals of the simulators. Since the data used in simulation are complex 3D objects such as terrain, buildings and vehicles, and are of large sizes, commonly used 3D modeling tools are not suitable for this use. We proposed a method to store such 3D objects in a database, perform required queries and integrate with visualization tools. We showed the processes for the data modeling based on 3D topological concepts and then building a spatial DBMS. Also, we illustrated the process for accessing and visualizing the stored data using VRML and performed test computations using some laser signal data. With further enhancement on data modeling and LOD problems in visualization, the proposed method will be practically applied in different situations including laser simulation.
