This research initially suggest flexural toughness density as a key parameter describing energy absorption capacity of High Performance Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composites [HPFRCC] regardless of the size of specimen. Two types of high strength steel fibers, Hooked and Twisted fiber, were used in two types of flexural specimen ($100{\times}100{\times}350mm^3$ and $150{\times}150{\times}500mm^3$) to estimate and validate the flexural toughness density.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate Ti-base abutment's three different heights and three different cement types on the pull-off force of zirconia-based restorations. Materials and Methods: A total of 90 fixture lab analogs were embedded in auto polymerizing resin bloack. 90 Ti-base abutments heights of 3 mm, 5 mm, 7 mm were scanned and zirconia restoration were prepared from scanned files. Zirconia restoration were cemented with three different types of cements (temporary, semi-permanent, permanent) following manufacturer's instructions. All 90 specimens were placed and tested in a universal testing machine for pull-out testing. Retention was measured by recording the force at load drop. Statistical analysis was performed using Kruskal-Wallis test for detecting whether there are any statistical significance along cement types or abutment heights. After that, Mann-Whitney test was used for figuring out differences regarding abutment height and the comparison between 3 cements. Results: Temp bond showed significantly lower pull-off force compared to Fujicem regardless of any abutment height. However, there were significant differences between Cem-implant and Fujicem in abutment height of 3 mm and 7 mm, but there was no significant difference in 5 mm. Temp bond and Cem-implant had significant differences only in abutment height of 5 mm. Conclusion: Although Ti-base abutment height did not influenced zirconia restorations' retentiveness, cement types showed significant differences.
In this paper, polymer-modified repair materials using polymer dispersions with six repair methods are prepared with various polymer-cement ratios, and tested for compressive and flexural strengths through each curing condition such as dry cure, water cure, and freezing and thawing cyclic action. And, the adhesive interface between the polymer-modified mortar and mortar substrate is observed by a scanning electron microscope. From the test results, the compressive and flexural strengths of cement mortar repaired by polymer-modified mortar are improved with a rise in the polymer-cement ratio regardless of the type of polymer and curing conditions. Such an improvement in the strengths of polymer-modified repair materials to ordinary cement mortar is explained by the high adhesion of polymer-modified mortar. Strength reduction of polymer-modified repair materials after freezing and thawing cyclic actions is recognized, but it is lower than that of unmodified mortar. Especially, cement mortar repaired by polymer-modified mortar with a St/BA emulsion has good strength properties compared with those of SBR latex and PA emulsion. Accordingly, it is judged that polymer-modified mortars with a St/BA emulsion are possible to use as repair materials to ordinary cement mortar and concrete.

The primary factors affecting concrete sulfate resistance are the chemical composition of the Portland cement, and the chemistry and quantity of mineral admixtures. To investigate the effect of those on the sulfate attack, the testing program involved several different mortar mixes using the standardized test, ASTM C1012. Four different cements were evaluated, including one Type I cement, two Type I-II cements, and one Type V cement. Mortar mixes were also made with mineral admixtures, as each cement was combined with three different types of mineral admixtures. One Class F fly ash, one Class C fly ash, and one ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) were added in various percent volumetric replacement levels. Expansion measurements were taken and investigated with the expansion criteria recommended by ASTM.

Strength is one of the very important factors to evaluate the physical properties of concrete. Aggregate forms the most parts in concrete. Cement as a binder in concrete is also closely related to strength. This experiment was tested to understand the effect of the characteristics of aggregate and cement on the relationship between concrete compressive strength and Shear Wave velocity. It was experimented by the different types of cement and maximum coarse aggregate sizes. Type I cement and rapid setting cement was used. Aggregates from three different regions were used. Aggregate of 19mm and 13mm maximum coarse aggregate sizes was used for grading. The relationship between compressive strength and Shear Wave velocity was tested under the condition of same mixture. LA wear test was used to quantify the characteristics of aggregate. As a result, the relationship between concrete compressive strength and Shear Wave velocity was affected by the types of cement, but regular relationship was appeared regardless of types of aggregate, grading and abrasion ratio.

The purpose of this study was to identify which combination of zirconia crowns and cements is most similar in color to the maxillary primary incisors by varying the color of zirconia crowns, crown thickness, and shade of cements. Prefabricated zirconia crowns in 3 shades and crowns fabricated using 6 types of zirconia blocks were used in this study. These were filled with A2-shade or translucent-shade resin cement and the $L^*$, $a^*$, and $b^*$ values were calculated using a spectrophotometer. The color differences between the natural teeth and the zirconia crowns were assessed. The shade of the final restoration was more similar to that of the natural teeth using A2-shade than translucent-shade resin cement. Application of A2-shade cement to a 0.5-mm-thick crown fabricated from a smile series 2 zirconia block resulted in the color most similar to that of the natural teeth. A2-shade resin cement is recommended for zirconia crown restoration in anterior primary teeth compared to TR-shade resin cement for more esthetic restoration. Since restorations with Nu-smile zirconia crowns were not esthetically favorable in terms of shade, improvement of the shade characteristics of the product or development of a new kind of zirconia crown is required.

This study shows some results of concrete mixing design has 100 years life time. The ratios of ternary blended cement are 4 types. the ratios of blast furnace slag cement are 3 types. In this case study, 40%, 50% and 60% replacement ratio of blast furnace slag(BSF) to OPC are used, also 35:45:20, 30:35:35, 30:40:30 and 35:40:25 ratio of OPC:BSF:FA are used. The mixing design tests include slump, air content, compressive strength and thermal properties of concrete. The compressive strength tests are executed at the age of 3, 7, 28, 56, and 91 days. The coefficient of chloride diffusion is determined by NT Build 492 method. The purpose of this study is to shows the results of case studies as the ratio of blended cement varies.
Purpose: This study was designed to compare the amount of polymerization shrinkage of dual-cure resin cements according to different polymerization modes and to determine the effect of light activation on the degree of polymerization. Materials and methods: Four kinds of dual-cure resin cements were investigated: Smartcem 2, Panavia F 2.0, Clearfil SA Luting and Zirconite. Each material was tested in three different polymerization modes: self-polymerization only, immediate light polymerization and 5 minutes-delayed light polymerization. The time-dependent polymerization shrinkage-strain was evaluated for 30 minutes by Bonded-disk method at $37^{\circ}C$. Five recordings of each material with three different modes were taken. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and multiple comparison Scheffe′test (${\alpha}$=.05). Results: All materials, except Panavia F 2.0, exhibited the highest polymerization shrinkage-strain through delayed light-activated polymerization. No significant difference between light activation modes was found with Panavia F 2.0. All materials exhibited more than 90% of polymerization rate in the immediate or delayed light activated group within 10 minutes. Conclusion: As a clinical implication of this study, the application of delayed light activation mode to dual-cure resin cements is advantageous in terms of degree of polymerization.
The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of recycled PET fiber made from waste PET bottle on the control of plastic shrinkage cracking of cement based composites. PET is blown as a plastic material and used in a variety products such as a beverage bottle. However, waste PET bottles are thrown after the usage, raising huge problems in terms of the environment. Thus, the research on the method to recycle the PET bottles indicates important aspects in environment and economy. The method to recycle waste PET bottles as a reinforcing fiber for cement based composites is one of effective methods in terms of the recycle of waste PET bottles. In this research, the effect of recycled PET fiber geometry and length on the control of plastic shrinkage was examined through thin slab tests. A test program was carried out to understand the influence of fiber geometry, length and fiber volume fraction. Three type of recycled PET fibers including straight, twist crimped and embossed type. Three volume fraction and two fiber length were investigated for each of the three fiber geometry. Test results indicated that recycled PET fibers are effective in controlling plastic shrinkage cracking in cement based composites. In respect to effect of length of fiber, longer fiber was observed to have efficient cracking controlling with low volume fraction in same fiber geometry while shorter fiber controled plastic shrinkage cracking efficiently as addition rate increase. Also, embossed type fibers were more effective in controlling plastic shrinkage cracking than other geometry fiber at low volume fraction. But, for high volume fraction, straight type fibers were most effective in plastic shrinkage cracking controlling in cement based composites.
The purpose of this paper is to develop a Hybrid Fiber-reinforced High Strength Lightweight Cementitious Composite (HFSLCC) incorporated with lightweight filler and hybrid fibers for lightness and high ductility. Optimal ingredients and mixture proportion were determined on the basis of the micromechanical analysis and the steady-state cracking theory considering the fracture characteristics of matrix and the interfacial properties between fibers and matrix. Then 4 mixture proportions were determined according to the type and amount of fibers and the experiment was performed to evaluate the mechanical performance of those. The HFSLCC showed 3% of tensile strain, 4.2MPa of ultimate tensile stress, 57MPa of compressive strength and $1,660kg/m^3$ of bulk density. The mechanical performance of HFSLCC incorporated with PVA fibers of 1.0 Vol.% and PE fibers of 0.5 Vol.% is similar to those of the HFSLCC incorporated with fibers of 2.0 Vol.%.
