Direct Preparation of fine Powders of Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O by Ultrasonic Spray Pyrolysis (초음파 분무열분해에 의한 Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O의 미분체 제조)

  • Fine powders of the 2212 superconducting phase of bismuth system have been prepared directly from solution using ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. The fine superconducting powders produced by pyrolysis were characterized for the size, shape, and crystalline phase by SEM and XRD. The pyrolysis temperature, flow rate of the carrier gas, residence time of the droplets greatly influenced the size, shape, and crystalline phase. The optimum temperature and flow rate of the carrier gas for the preparation of fine powders of the 2212 superconduting phase were found to be 830$^{\circ}C$and 3ι/min, respectively.

  • 고상반응법(solid-state reaction)으로 산화물 초전도체 Bi$_{2+x}$ Sr$_{1.8}$ $CaCu_2$$O_{8+\delta}$(-0.2$\leq$x$\leq$0.2)을 제조하여 조성변화에 따른 산소량과 Bi 이온의 하전가(valence)가 구조변조의 주기에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 2212상의 단일상 고용한계는 -0.1$\leq$x$\leq$0.1 영역이었다. 이 영역에서 x의 증가에 따라 격자상수 c는 감소를 보이며, 온셋 임계온도 Tc$^{on}$ 과 산소량은 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 또한, Bi 이온의 하전기와 구조변조의 주기는 단일상 고용한계 영역 내에서 x의 증가에 따라 감소하는 경향을 보이고 있다. 구조변조의 주기는 산소량이 증가함에 따라 감소하고 Bi 이온의 하전가 증가에 따라 증가함을 보였다. 즉, 산소의 절대량과 Bi 이온의 하전가에 따라 구조변조의 주기가 변화하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Phase Stability of Bi2212 and Bi2223 Thin Films Fabricated by Ion Beam Sputtering

  • Bi2212 and Bi2223 thin films are fabricated by ion beam sputtering method. Three phases of Bi2201, Bi2212 and Bi2223 appear as stable ones in spite of the condition for thin film fabrication of Bi2212 and bi2223 compositions, depending on substrate temperature(T$\sub$sub/) and ozone pressure (PO$_3$). It is found out that these phases show similar T$\sub$sub/ and PO$_3$dependence, and that the stable regions of these phases are limited within very narrow temperature.

  • High quality BSCCO thin films have been fabricated by means of an ion beam sputtering at various substrate temperatures, T$\_$sub/, and ozone gas pressures, PO$_3$. The correlation diagrams of the BSCCO phases appeared against T$\_$sub/ and PO$_3$ are established in the 2212 and 2223 compositional films. In spite of 2212 compositional sputtering, Bi2201 and Bi2223 phases as well as Bi2212 one come out as stable phases depending on T$\_$sub/ and PO$_3$. From these results, the thermodynamic evaluations of ΔH and ΔS, which are related with Gibbs' free energy change for single Bi2212 or Bi2223 phase are performed.

  • Off-axis supttering using shielder was used to efficiently prevent negative oxygen ions from resputtering deposited films. In this method, the substrate was located vertically to the target and shielded by the semicircled steel plate. By using this method, the resputtering could be reduced, and 2223 high-Tc phase could be formed at the lower substrate temperature and in the broader temperature region. As increasing the substrate temperature, 2212, 2223, 2212 superconducting phases were formed by turns. 2223 phase was formed above 2$\times$10-2 torr, and 2212 phase was formed above 4$\times$10-2 torr.
