Synthesis and Characterization of 9,9'-Diethyl-2-diphenylaminofluorene Derivatives as Blue Fluorescent Materials for OLEDs

  • Blue fluorescent materials based on 9,9'-diethyl-2-diphenylaminofluorene derivatives were synthesized and characterized. These materials were used as the blue dopant materials for the emitting layer of organic light-emitting diode devices with the following device structure: ITO/DNTPD (40 nm)/NPB (20 nm)/MADN: dopants (2%, 20 nm)/$Alq_3$ (40 nm)/Liq (1.0 nm)/Al. All devices exhibited highly efficient blue emission. One of these devices exhibited a maximum luminance, luminous efficiency, power efficiency and CIE x, y coordinates of 8400 $cd/m^2$, 8.10 cd/A at 20 $mA/cm^2$, 3.36 lm/W at 20 $mA/cm^2$ and (0.151, 0.159), respectively. A deep blue device with CIE coordinates of (0.152, 0.139) showed the maximum luminance, luminous efficiency and power efficiency of 8630 $cd/m^2$, 6.31 cd/A at 20$mA/cm^2$ and 2.62 lm/W at 20 $mA/cm^2$, respectively.

연초재배가 양잠에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 I. 뽕밭 부근의 담배개량 Mulching 재배가 추잠작에 미치는 영향에 관한 시험 (Studies on the Relationship between Silkworm Rearing and Tobacco Cultivation I. Tobacco Field Cultivated in Mulching System Affecting the Silkworm Rearing in Autumn Season)

  • 개양 Mulching에 의한 조기재배 담배밭 부근 뽕잎이 추잠작에 미치는 영향을 알고자 뽕나무 pot 100m구를 대조로 하여 10m, 20m, 40m, 60m 구별로 담배밭으로부터 동북쪽에 배치하였으며, pot가 배치된 밭의 경사는 담배밭과 근접된 지점은 담배밭 보다 지반이 40cm 내외로 낮았으나 담배 밭에서 멀어질수록 10% 내외 경사로 점점 높게 위치하고 있었다. 한편 담배밭은 전 면적의 1/2 정도를 동남방향에서 서북방향으로 나누어 남서편은 10% 미만의 경사로 점점낮게 위치하고 있었다. 오독처리 기간중의 풍향은 동남풍아 36%로 주풍 이었고, 남서풍이 21%, 남풍이 16%, 기지의 순이었다. Pot는 담배 하엽수확 완료 후부터 상엽수확 완료 직전까지 32일간을 경합시켰으며 경합기간 중 신장된 뽕은 pot격리 후 33일째인 4령말기부터 상업전까지 11일간에 걸쳐 급여시험한 결과를 분석한 각각의 계량형질에 미친 영향을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 5령경과는 10m구부터 40m구까지 같은 수준으로 대조보다 길었으며 60m구는 대조와 유의차가 없었고 전령경과도 대체로 같은 경향이었다. 2. 5령기잠 지면잠비율은 10m, 20m구단이 가장 높았고, 기타구는 대조와 유의차가 없었다. 3. 장잠감잠비율은 60m구까지 피해가 인정되었다. 4. 화용비율은 10m구에서 20m구까지가 가장 낮았으며, 기타구는 대조와 유의차가 없었다. 5. 전견중, 견층중은 각각 60m구까지 피해가 인정되었으며, 전견중 보다는 견층중의 피해가 크므로서 그 결과, 견층비율 역시 같은 경향의 피해를 보였다. 6. 수견량(대 소잠 1만두 옥견포함)에서는 담배밭에 가까운 구 일수록 대조에 비해 현저히 감수가 되어 고도의 유의차가 있었고 60m구는 대조와 같은 수준이었다. 단, 실제 수견량에 있어서는 10m, 20m, 40m, 60m구는 각각 7kg, 3.9kg, 3.6kg, 1.8kg으로 잔수되어 그 피해율은 40%, 26%, 24%, 12%로 감수된는 경향을 나타냈다. 이상을 종합하여 볼때 수견량과 견층의 피해거리는 60m 이상까지 있는 것으로 사려된다.

득량만 키조개, Atrina pectinata의 양성밀도에 따른 성장과 생존율 (Density Dependent Growth and Survival Rates of Atrina pectinata in Duekryang Bay, Korea)

  • 본 연구를 위하여 득량만 키조개, Atrina pectinata의 양성밀도별 성장과 생존율을 조사하였다. 실험기간 중 이식해역의 수질환경을 살펴보면 수온은 $14.5-28.0^{\circ}C$였으며, 염분농도는 27.98-31.89 psu로 나타났다. 수소이온농도(pH)는 7.78-8.35 범위였으며, 용존산소는(DO) 7.07-7.90 mg/L, 화학적 산소요구량(COD)은 1.20-1.70 mg/L로 나타났다. 용존 무기질소(DIN)는 2.88-6.02 mg/L였으며, 인산염인($PO_4-P$) 0.06-2.09 mg/L, Chlorophyll-a는 0.20-0.79 mg/L, 부유입자물질(SPM) 은 10.8-21.4 mg/L의 범위로 나타났다. 저질 환경을 살펴보면 총강열감량(IL)은 4.0-4.6%, 저질COD는 7.28-10.76 mg/L, 황화물(AVS)은 0.03-0.05 mg/L의 범위를 나타냈다. 밀도에 따른 키조개의 성장을 살펴보면, 저밀도의 시험구에서 높은 성장률을 보였다. 각고의 일간성장률은 5 indiv./$m^2$ 시험구가 0.27%이었고, 10 indiv./$m^2$는 0.26%, 35 indiv./$m^2$ 시험구는 0.21%이었다. 전중량의 일간성장률은 5 indiv./$m^2$ 시험구가 0.33%이었고, 10 indiv./$m^2$는 0.29%, 35 indiv./$m^2$ 시험구는 0.20%이었다. 생존율은 5 indiv./$m^2$와 10 indiv./$m^2$ 시험구에서 높은 생존율을 나타냈다.

The Effects of Different Concentrations of Glycine and Cysteine on the Freezability of Moghani Ram Spermatozoa

  • Two experiments were designed to evaluate the effects of the amino acids glycine and cysteine on cryopreservation of ram spermatozoa. After primary evaluation of collected ejaculates, the semen samples were pooled and diluted 1:4 before cooling (experiment 1) and freezing (experiment 2) with Tris-Citrate-Fructose-Yolk (TCFY) extender supplemented with different concentrations of glycine and cysteine (5, 10, 15 and 20 mM). As the control, semen was diluted and frozen in the extender without amino acids. Motility, viability and membrane integrity were assessed as the parameters for semen quality in the first experiment. In the second experiment, motility, progressive motility, viability, membranes and acrosome integrity were evaluated after the freezing-thawing process. The results of the first experiment indicated that the addition of 10 and 15 mM cysteine compared to the control (basic) extender significantly increased (p<0.01) the motility, viability and membrane integrity of spermatozoa after cooling. However, further increasing these amino acids up to 20 mM had a significant negative effect (p<0.05). Our results showed no significant differences (p>0.05) between 5 mM glycine compared to 5 mM cysteine and between 20 mM glycine and 20 mM cysteine. The results of experiment 2 showed that the amino acids significantly improved post-thaw motility, progressive motility, viability, membranes and acrosome integrity of ram spermatozoa. These positive effects were observed at concentrations between 5 to 15 mM of glycine and cysteine, with the best results at 15 mM. Further increasing of amino acid concentrations significantly decreased the post-thaw characteristics of spermatozoa, but the results showed that cysteine was better than glycine and control extenders. The data indicated that addition of glycine or cysteine to the freezing extender can be recommended for cryopreservation of ram spermatozoa. However, further studies are still needed to determine the effect of such addition on fertility in farm animals.

Spectrophotometric Determination of Scandium(III) in Monazite after Separation Using Amberlite IRC 718 Chelating Resin

  • The spectrophotometric determination method of scandium with eriochrome cyanine R (ECR) and the composition ratio of the complex were investigated in the presence of surfactants. A volume of 5 mL of 1.0×$10^{-3}$ M ECR and 10 mL of 2.0×$10^{-4}$ M CTMAB are necessary for the determination of 1.0×$10 ^{-7}$ ~ 3.0×$10^{-6}$ M Sc(III) at pH 6.5. The apparent molar absorption coefficient of the Sc(III)-ECR-CTMAB, ternary complex at 610 nm is 5.6×$10^5$ $mol^{-1}cm{-1}$L and its detection limit is 1.0×$10^{-7}$ M. Separation studies were conducted by the column method. The effect of pH, elution solution and the influence of rare earth elements as interferents was discussed. Their separation was carried out in 0.1 M HCl-50% methanol solution and 1.0 M HCl media. The method was applied for the determination of Sc(III) in monazite.

Effect of age on endothelial function in rat aorta

  • The Influence of age on the endothelial modulation of angiotensin II (AII)-induced contractile response was investigated in isolated aortic rings of rats ranging in age from 0.7 to 20 months. Hemoglobin and L-NAME were used to examine whether age-related changes in the EDRF-releasing system were involved in endothelial modulation of All-induced contraction in rat aorta. In all five age groups (0.7, 1.5, 3, 6, 20 months), hemoglobin (10 ${\mu}$M) significantly enhanced All-induced contractile response only in aorta with endothelium intact. L-NAME (10 ${\mu}$M) Produced a significant enhancement in All responses in endothelium-intact aortas from rats aged 0.7 and 1.5 months, but it had no effect in aortas from older rats aged 6 and 20 months. Indomethacin (10 ${\mu}$M) did not affect All-induced contractile responses in both endothelium intact and removed aortas from rats at the age of 0.7 to 20 months. Hemoglobin (10 ${\mu}$M) abolished acetylcholine-induced relaxation response in aortas from young and old rats. L-NAME completely abolished the relaxation in aortas from young (0.7 and 1.5 months), but incompletely in aortas from older (6 and 20 months) rats. The sensitivity of endothelium-dependent relaxation to A23187 increased with age between ages of 0.7 and 6 months, with no further increase noted up to 20 months of age. These results suggest that endothelial modulation of AII-induced contraction in rat aorta might involve age-related alteration in EDRF-releasing system, probably via post-receptor mechanism.

입사각의 변화에 따른 터빈 캐스케이드에서 손실계수에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Loss Coefficient of Turbine Cascade with Incidence Angles)

  • For the study on loss coefficients of turbine cascade with variation of incidence angle, the wind-tunnel tests were performed under the ranges in velocity of 10 m/s, 15 m/s, 20 m/s and incidence angles from $-20^{\circ}\;to\;20^{\circ}$ by intervals of $5^{\circ}$. Comparing our results with Soderberg's prediction, differences in loss coefficient were $2.5\%\;and\;2.8\%$ each for 10 m/s and 15 m/s. A large disagreement of $30.3\%$ was showed at 20 m/s freestream velocity. The comparisons of these test results with Ainley's prediction showed an $8\%$ difference in the case of 20 m/s freestream velocity. Test results were approximately comparable with Ainley's loss prediction's in incidence angles. Generally, averaged total pressure loss seemed to be decreased as Reynolds number increased. The total pressure loss coefficients were increased parabolically, as incidence angles were increased negatively and positively from $0^{\circ}$, in all speed ranges. At the far low freestream velocities, minimum loss accurred between $-5^{\circ}\;and\;+5^{\circ}$. But this minimum range narrowed the location of this range by shifting to the direction of the angle as freestream velocity was increased.

Protoberberine 알칼로이드가 PC12 세포중의 L-DOPA 유도 세포독성 작용에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Protoberberine Alkaloids on L-DOPA-Induced Cytotoxicity in PC12 Cells)

  • Previously, protoberberine alkaloids such as berberine and palmatine have been found to lower dopamine content in PC12 cells (Shin et at., 2000). In this study, the effects of berberine and palmatine on L-DOPA-induced increase in dopamine level and cytotoxicity in PC12 cells were investigated. Treatment of PC12 with L-DOPA at concentration ranges of 20∼50 $\mu$M increased dopamine content and the increase in dopamine levels by L-DOPA was inhibited by 10∼40 $\mu$M berberine and 10∼80 $\mu$M palmatine, which the concentration ranges did not show a cytotoxicity. However, berberine and palmatine at concentrations higher than 50 $\mu$M and 100 $\mu$M caused a cytotoxicity, respectively. In addition, berberine (10∼20 $\mu$M) and palmatine (10∼50 $\mu$M) at non-cytotoxic concentration ranges aggravated L-DOPA-induced cytotoxicity in PC12 cells (L-DOPA concentration ranges, 20∼50 $\mu$M). The L-DOPA-induced cytotoxicity was also significantly potentiated by berberine (50 $\mu$M) and palmatine (100 $\mu$M) with cytotoxic ranges. These data demonstrate that berberine and palmatine inhibit L-DOPA-induced increase in dopamine content and stimulate L-DOPA-induced neurotoxicity. Therefore, the possibility that the long-term L-DOPA treated patients with berberine and palmatine could be checked the adverse symptoms.

배추 첨가 청국장의 제조 및 품질특성 (Fermentation and Quality Characteristics of Cheonggukjang with Chinese Cabbage)

  • 김치 제조과정 중 발생되는 배추 부산물의 활용방안을 모색하기 위해 청국장의 제조시 배추를 첨가하여 배추 혼합 청국장의 발효 및 품질 특성을 비교 검토하였다. 배추 첨가량을 달리하여 10%(A10), 20%(A20) 혼합하여 제조한 청국장의 발효 및 품질특성을 조사한 결과, 배추 첨가 청국장의 pH는 발효 전 기간 동안 대조구보다 낮았으며, 배추 첨가량에 따라서는 큰 변화가 없었다. 청국장의 발효 후 총균수는 8.65~9.11 log CFU/mL이었으며, 유산균수는 A10, A20이 각각 5.62 log CFU/mL와 5.87 log CFU/mL이었으며, 대조구는 발효 전 기간 동안 유산균이 검출 되지 않았다. 배추 혼합 청국장의 아미노태 질소량과 점질물량은 발효 전 기간 동안 대조구보다 낮았다. 총 폴리페놀 함량은 발효 후 모든 군이 증가하였으며, A10의 증가량이 가장 우수하였다. DPPH radical 소거능은 발효 후 A10이 대조구와 A20보다 높은 활성을 나타내었다. 관능검사 결과는 A10이 맛, 색상, 종합적 기호도에서 가장 우수하였다.

진탕 배양(培養)에 의한 Phanerochaete chrysosporium Diffuse 균사(菌絲)의 Ligninase 생성(生成)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Production of Ligninase in Agitated Submerged Cultures of Phanerochaete chrysosporium Diffuse Mycelia)

  • P. chrysosporium, SC 26 균주(菌株)를 이용하여 0.1% Tween 20, veratryl alcohol 및 benzyl alcohol 이 첨가된 배지(培地)에 접종(接種)한 후 진탕배양하여 ligninase역가를 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 배지(培地)에 Tween 20를 단독으로 처리했을 경우에는 ligninase 의 생성(生成)이 적었으나, 0.1% Tween 과 0.4 mM veratryl alcohol을 첨가했을 때 높았으며 , 최대 역가까지의 소요일수는 5일이었다. 또한 0.1% Tween 20 과 10 mM benzyl alcohol을 처리했을때 ligninase의 역가가 가장 높았으며, 최대 역가까지의 소요일수는 8일이였다.
