XFEL를 위한 기존의 펄스전원공급장치 개선 연구 (Study of Pulse Generator used Inverter HV Power Supply)

  • The 2.5GeV linac of the Pohang Light Source(PLS) is planed to be converted to a XFEL. The PAL XFEL requires a new 1.2-GeV linac that will be combined to the existing linac to increase a beam energy upto 3.7GeV. This stability is mainly determined by a low level RF drive system and klystron-modulators. The stability level of the modulator has to be improved 10 times better to meet the pulse stability of 0.02 %. The regulation methods such as traditional de-Qing and precision inverter charging technology are reviewed to find out suitable upgrade scheme of the modulators. In order to obtain electron beam of the consequently stability for XFEL linac, the pulse-to-pulse beam voltage regulation is less than +/-0.5%. To get the reliable stability of the modulator which is less than +/-0.2%, a charging section is improved in a modulator which has been operated with inverter power supply and de-Q'ing.

3레벨 인버터의 실시간 제어를 위한 근사화 SHE PWM (Approximate SHE PWM for Real-Time Control of 2-Level Inverter)

  • 본 연구에선는 고조파 저감효과가 크고 실시간 제어가 가능하도록 근사화된 3레벨 SHE PWM 방식을 제안하였다. SHE PWM 방식으로 특정 고조파를 제거할 수 있는 스위칭 각을 얻으면 기본파 전압의 크기에 따라 불연속적이고 비선형적인 분포를 이루게 되어 실시간제어에의 적용이 어려우므로 이들 비선형적인 분포를 부분적으로 근사화시킨 직선방식을 얻고 직선방정식의 계수들의 집합을 하나의 조견표로 작성하여 새로운 SHE PWM 스위칭 각 분포를 얻었다. 이때 인버터 dc 링크 전압의 변동을 보상할 수 있도록 인버터 출력 기본파전압과 직류전원 전압의 비를 일정하게 유지시켜며, 이렇게 새로이 얻어진 SHE PWM에 의한 스위칭 패턴을 3레벨 인버터에 적용하여 유도전동기를 운전할 때 인버터 출력전압의 고조파분포를 해석하였다. 또한 시뮬레이션을 통한 전동기 전류의 고조파 왜곡 및 토크리플 특성도 해석하여 제안한 3레벨 근사화 SHE PWM 방식의 고조파 저감효과가 3레벨 SPWM 방식의 결과와 비교하여 우수하며, 직류링크전압 변동에 대한 보상이 이루어짐을 확인하였다.

High Performance of Printed CMOS Type Thin Film Transistor

  • Printed electronics is an emerging technology to realize various microelectronic devices via a cost-effective method. Here we demonstrated a high performance of p-channel and n-channel top-gate/bottom contact polymer field-effect transistors (FETs), and applications to elementary organic complementary inverter and ring oscillator circuits by inkjet processing. We could obtained high field-effect mobility more than $0.4\;cm^2/Vs$ for both of p-channel and n-channel FETs, and successfully measured inkjet-printed polymer inverters. The performance of devices highly depends on the selection of dielectrics, printing condition and device architecture. Optimized CMOS ring oscillators with p-type and n-type polymer transistors showed as high as 50 kHz operation frequency. This research was financially supported by development of next generation RFID technology for item level applications (2008-F052-01) funded by the ministry of knowledge economy (MKE).

A Novel Photovoltaic Power Harvesting System Using a Transformerless H6 Single-Phase Inverter with Improved Grid Current Quality

  • The pumping of electric power from photovoltaic (PV) farms is normally carried out using transformers, which require heavy mounting structures and are thus costly, less efficient, and bulky. Therefore, transformerless schemes are developed for the injection of power into the grid. Compared with the H4 inverter topology, the H6 topology is a better choice for pumping PV power into the grid because of the reduced common mode current. This paper presents how the perturb and observe (P&O) algorithm for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) can be implemented in the H6 inverter topology along with the improved sinusoidal current injected to the grid at unity power factor with the average current mode control technique. On the basis of the P&O MPPT algorithm, a power reference for the present insolation level is first calculated. Maintaining this power reference and referring to the AC sine wave of bus bars, a sinusoidal current at unity power factor is injected to the grid. The proportional integral (PI) controller and fuzzy logic controller (FLC) are designed and implemented. The FLC outperforms the PI controller in terms of conversion efficiency and injected power quality. A simulation in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment is carried out. An experimental prototype is built to validate the proposed idea. The dynamic and steady-state performances of the FLC controller are found to be better than those of the PI controller. The results are presented in this paper.

병실 냉.난방을 위한 초퍼와 PWM 전압형 인버터를 이용한 계통 연계형 태양광 발전시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Utility Interactive Photovoltaic System Using a Chopper and PWM Voltage Source Inverter for Air Conditioner a Clinic room)

  • 태양전지는 일사량, 온도와 부하에 의해 크게 변동하기 때문에 가능한 한 많은 에너지를 얻기 위해서는 태양전지의 출력을 항상 최대로 제어할 필요가 있다. 태양전지의 출력은 직류이므로 교류부하에 적용하기 위해서는 전력변환장치 중 인버터가 필수적이며 단위 역률을 갖는 정현파 전류 및 전압을 부하계통에 공급해 주어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 태양광 발전시스템을 승압 쵸퍼와 단상 PWM(Pulse Width Modultion) 전압형 인버터로 구성하였고, 안정된 변조를 위해서 동기신호와 제어신호를 원칩 마이크로프로세서에 의해서 처리하였다. 전력비교에 따라 시비율을 변화시키지만 태양전지는 전형적인 수하특성을 갖고 있어, 일사량과 온도변화에 관계없이 항상 최대 출력 점을 추적하도록 승압초퍼를 제어하였다. 단상 PWM 전압형 인버터는 태양전지가 연속 발전할 수 없는 단점을 보완하기 위해 일반 상용전원과 연계함으로써 약 $10{\sim}20%$ 전력절감효과를 얻을 수 있는 에너지절약 전원복합형 전력변환장치로 구성되어 있다. 단상 PWM 전압형 인버터와 위상동기를 위해서 계통전압을 검출하여 계통전압과 인버터 출력을 동상 운전하므로 잉여전력을 계통과 연계할 수 있게 하여 고 역률과 저고조파 출력을 유지 하므로써 부하와 계통에 전력이 안정하게 공급될 수 있도록 제어하였다.

Elimination of Low Order Harmonics in Multilevel Inverters Using Genetic Algorithm

  • The selective harmonic elimination pulse width modulation (SHEPWM) switching strategy has been applied to multilevel inverters to remove low harmonics. Naturally, the related equations do not have feasible solutions for some operating points associated with the modulation index (M). However, with these infeasible points, minimizing instead of eliminating harmonics is performed. Thus, harmful harmonics such as the $5^{th}$ harmonic still remains in the output waveform. Therefore, it is proposed in this paper to ignore solving the equation associated with the highest order harmonics. A reduction in the eliminated harmonics results in an increase in the degrees of freedom. As a result, the lower order harmonics are eliminated in more operating points. A 9-level inverter is chosen as a case study. The genetic algorithm (GA) for optimization purposes is used. Simulation results verify the proposed method.

전기자동차용 표면 부착형 영구자석 동기 전동기의 토크제어를 위한 유한 제어 요소 모델 예측제어(FCS-MPC) 기법 (The Finite Control Set Model Predictive Torque Control Method for Surface Mounted Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motor of Electric Vehicle)

  • This paper proposes a torque control method for surface mounted permanent magnetic synchronous motor (PMSM) driven by a 2-level voltage source driven inverter, which has fast torque response and small torque ripple. The proposed torque control method follows the finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) strategy. A reference state is derived at each time step for the given time varying torque reference and the cost index is defined so that the tracking error for this reference state should be penalized. The choice of an optimal output voltage vector is made first from the 6 possible active voltage vectors of the 2-level voltage source inverter. Then a modulation factor for the chosen optimal voltage vector is obtained so that the torque ripple can be reduced further. It is shown that the proposed FCS-MPC control method yields fast torque tracking response and small torque ripple through simulation and experiments.

  • 본 논문에서는 유도전동기를 순시 토크제어하기 위한 방법으로 간접벡터제어를 사용하였고, 간접벡터제어를 통해 계산된 전압추종벡터를 NPC형 3-레벨 인버터의 SVPWM기법을 적용하여 구현하였다. SVPWM방식은 기존의 2레벨 인버터의 알고리즘을 응용하여 선형영역에서 과변조영역까지 선형적으로 전이 하도록 하였다.

  • The SIT, a Static Induction Transistor, is a semiconductor switch that is also called the power junction field-effect transistor (power JFET). Its characteristics are similar to a MOSFET except that its power level is higher and its maximum frequency of operation is lower. The normal method to protect against internal circuit transients of the form of di/dt or dv/dt is the use of snubber circuits. However, the limits of di/dt and dv/dt are high enough for the SIT that it is possible to operate without snubber circuits. SITs can be connected in parallel in order to cope with higher load currents that the value of an individual device rating. The purpose of this study is to investigate the parallel operation of SITs. In this experiment, we used a half-bridge inverter, the output of inverter is up to almost 1MHz and 2kW. Experimental results show that the operation of parallel connected SITs are facilitated individually good current sharing. The reason is the positive temperature coefficient of resistance of the SIT.
