  • In this paper we construct a natural filtration associated to the plethysm $S_{r}(\wedge^2 \varphi)$ over arbitrary commutative ring R. Let $\phi$ : G longrightarrow F be a morphism of finite free R-modules. We construct the natural filtration of $S_{r}(\wedge^2 \varphi)$ as a $GL(F){\times}GL(G)$- complex such that its associated graded complex is ${\Sigma}_{{\lambda}{\in}{\Omega}_{\gamma}}=L_{2{\lambda}{\varphi}$, where ${{\Omega}_{\gamma}}^{-}$ is a set of partitions such that $│\wedge│\;=;{\gamma}\;and\;2{\wedge}$ is a partition of which i-th term is $2{\wedge}_{i}$. Specializing our result, we obtain the filtrations of $S_{r}(\wedge^2 F)\;and\;D_{r}(D_2G).

  • Measurements of the peripheral dose were performed using a 2D array ion chamber and solid water phantom for a $10{\times}10cm$, source-surface distance (SSD) 90cm, 6 and 15MV photon beam at depths of 0.5cm, 5cm through $d_{max}$. Measurements of peripheral dose at 0.5cm and 5cm depths were performed from 1cm to 5cm outside of fields for the dynamic wedge and physical wedge $15^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$. For 6MV photon beam, the average peripheral dose of dynamic wedge were lower by 1.4% and 0.1% than that of physical wedge For 15MV photon beam, the peripheral dose of dynamic wedge were lower by maximum 1.6% that of physical wedge. The results showed that dynamic wedge can reduce scattered dose of clinical organ close to the field edge. The wedge systems produce different peripheral dose that should be considered in properly choosing a wedge system for clinical use.

  • Because a wedged beam consists of attenuated primary photons and scattered radiations from wedge, the spectrum of the wedged beam does not coincide with that of an open beam with same geometry. The aims of current report are to get exact information about whether effects of 15-60$^{\circ}$ wedge for 4 -10 MV photon beams should be considered for dose calculation or not, and to suggest a reference condition for measurement of wedge transmission factor. Percent depth dose of both open and wedged fields with angles of 15, 30, 45, 60$^{\circ}$ for beams of 4 MV(Clinac 4/100, Varian), two 6 MV(Clinac 6/100 and Clinac 2100C, Varian), 10 MV(Clinac 2100C, Varian) X-rays were measured to 30cm deep in water using ionization chambers. Hardening factors of photon beams were calculated with measured PDDs. Both field size factors and transmission factors of wedge filters were measured at d$_{max}$ in water. Beam hardening factors of wedged fields of 4 and 6 MV X-ray were larger than 1 for all wedge angles, field sizes and depths deeper than d$_{max}$ Beam hardening factors for wedge angles 15, 30, 45, 60$^{\circ}$ for 10$\times$10cm were respectively 1.010, 1.014, 1.023 and 1.034 for 4MV X-ray, 1.005, 1.008, 1.019, and 1.024 for 6MV X-ray of Clinac 6/100, 1.011, 1.021, 1.032, 1.036 for 6MV X-ray of Clinac 2100C, and 1.008, 1.012, 1.012 and 1.012 for 10MV X-ray. Beam hardening factors of 10MV X-ray were 1 within 1.2% difference for all wedge angles, depths and field sizes. It was made clear that for 6MV X-rays, the beam hardening factor depends on treatment machine. The relationship of the factor and depth was linear. Field size factor at d$_{max}$ was independent of wedge angle except for the field of 15$\times$15cm. and maximum difference of the field size factors for the field size was 1.4% for 4MV X-ray. When the wedge factor is determined, dependence of the factor on field size is negligible at d$_{max}$ but should be considered at deeper depth. Calculating dose distribution or MU, the beam hardening factor should be applied for 4~6MV X-ray beams, but might not be considered for 10MV beam. When wedge transmission factor was determined at d$_{max}$ or in air, field size factors for open field are also applicable to wedged fields, but otherwise, field size factor for each wedge or wedge factor depending on field size should be applied.

  • The FRP plate or sheet bonding technology was widely used for strengthening deficient RC structures. The strengthened structure using FRP bonding scheme, however, experience the complex interfacial behaviour which is difficult to predict. Therefore, the unbonded scheme using some anchorage device can be is an alternative for more reliable design. In this study, wedge-type anchor for FRP plate is developed for the unbonded flexural strengthening scheme. Some parameter study using 2D finite element method is performed. The analysis parameters are taken as wedge-guide friction coefficients, wedge- FRP ,.friction coefficient and wedge inclination angle. Based on the parameter study, more efficient anchors are designed and tested. The test result show that the developed anchor assure about $80\%$ FRP strength, which is higher performance than typical bonding scheme. Last, 3D finite element analysis is performed.

  • Supersonic projectiles like rockets, missiles, or aircraft find various applications in the field of defense. The shape of the wings is mainly designed as wedge shape or delta wings for supersonic vehicles. The study of supersonic flows over the wedges and flat plate delta wings around the large scale of incidence angle is considered in the supersonic projectile. In the present paper, the prime attention is to study the pressure at the nose of the plane wedge over the various Mach number and the various angles of incidence. Ghosh piston theory is used to obtain the pressure distribution analytically, and the results are compared with CFD analysis results. The wedge angle and Mach number are the parameters considered for the research work. The range of wedge angle is 50 to 250, and Mach number is 1.5 to 4.0 are considered for the current research work. The analytical results show excellent agreement with the CFD results. The results show that both the parameters wedge angle and Mach number are influential parameters to vary the static pressure. The static pressure increases with an increase in Mach number and wedge angle.

  • In this study we dealt with the relationship between the initial clamping force and the sliding distance in the wedge type rail clamp. The sliding distance is determined by the wedge angle and the initial clamping force. In order to derive the relation formula between the wedge angle and the sliding distance, we ad opt 5-kinds of the wedge angle, such as 2, 4, 6, 8, $10^{\circ}$. And then we analyze the effect of the initial clamping force on the sliding distance.

  • The wedge type rail clamp has the operating mechanism: First, the jaw pad clamps a rail with small clamping force. Next as the wind speed increases, the clamping force of the Jaw pad Is Increased by the wedge. The initial clamping force of a jaw pad was determined by the clamping angle of a locker. In this study, we carried out the finite element analysis to evaluate the relationship between the clamping angle of a locker and the clamping force of a jaw pad with respect to the design wind speed, such as 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10m/s, we adopted the wedge type rail clamp fur 50tons class container crane with the wedge angle of $10^{\circ}$.

  • Purpose : To collect beam data for dynamic wedge fields using conventional measurement tools without the multi-detector system, such as the linear diode detectors or ionization chambers. Materials and Methods : The accelerator CL 2100 C/D has two photon energies of 6MV and 15MV with dynamic wedge an91es of 15o, 30o, 45o and 60o. Wedge transmission factors, percentage depth doses(PDD's) and dose Profiles were measured. The measurements for wedge transmission factors are performed for field sizes ranging from $4\times4cm^2\;to\;20\times20cm^2$ in 1-2cm steps. Various rectangular field sizes are also measured for each photon energy of 6MV and 15MV, with the combination of each dynamic wedge angle of 15o 30o. 45o and 60o. These factors are compared to the calculated wedge factors using STT(Segmented Treatment Table) value. PDD's are measured with the film and the chamber in water Phantom for fixed square field. Converting parameters for film data to chamber data could be obtained from this procedure. The PDD's for dynamic wedged fields could be obtained from film dosimetry by using the converting parameters without using ionization chamber. Dose profiles are obtained from interpolation and STT weighted superposition of data through selected asymmetric static field measurement using ionization chamber. Results : The measured values of wedge transmission factors show good agreement to the calculated values The wedge factors of rectangular fields for constant V-field were equal to those of square fields The differences between open fields' PDDs and those from dynamic fields are insignificant. Dose profiles from superposition method showed acceptable range of accuracy(maximum 2% error) when we compare to those from film dosimetry. Conclusion : The results from this superposition method showed that commissionning of dynamic wedge could be done with conventional dosimetric tools such as Point detector system and film dosimetry winthin maximum 2% error range of accuracy.

  • In this study, field pull-out test and 3-D FEM analysis have been performed for examining and reflecting the behavior of steel pipe nailing installed foldable wedge. Field pull-out test was performed under various conditions. As a result, the steel pipe nailing installed foldable wedge has an effect of pull-out resistance increased about 30% in comparison with non-wedge type steel pipe nailing. Through back analysis in 3-D FEM for behavior of non-wedge type steel pipe nailing, friction characteristics between nail to soil was analyzed and obtained first consistent with field pull-out behavior. Then, the frictional characteristic was used for analyzing the behavior of the steel pipe nailing installed foldable wedge. The result was compared with the test results. Consequently, friction coefficient (${\mu}$) of about 1.2 between grout to soil leads to good agreement with analysis results and test results. And a limited pull-out resistance, $$T_L{\sim_=}32$$ tonf is similar to field pull-out test result which is improved about 33% in comparison with non-wedge type steel pipe nailing's $$T_L{\sim_=}24$$ tonf.
