The Effect of Crystallization by Heat Treatment on Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Efficiency of Carbon Fibers (열처리 온도에 의한 구조 결정성이 탄소섬유의 전자파 차폐 성능에 미치는 영향)

  • To investigate the electromagnetic interference shielding efficiency (EMI SE) property based on heat treatment effects of carbon fibers in various temperatures, the polyacrilonitrle-based carbon fibers were prepared by electrospinning method and treated at 1073, 1323, 1873 and 2573 K. The surface morphology of carbon fibers was investigated by using FE-SEM and the carbon crystallization was studied by Raman spectroscopy based on effects of reaction temperatures. The electrical conductivity was obtained by measuring the surface resistance with four probe method on carbon crystallization. The permittivity, permeability and EMI SE were investigated by using S-parameter in the range of 800~4500 MHz. In case of carbon fibers treated at 2573 K, the improved carbon crystallization was confirmed by Raman spectrum and the enhanced electrical conductivity showing 54.7 S/cm was also observed. The permittivity was dramatically improved by factor of 4 based on effect of high reaction temperature. Eventually, the highly improved EMI SE value was obtained showing around 41.7 dB.

  • Effects of specimen area on the corrosion rate of low alloy steel were studied in sulfuric acid solution. The corrosion behavior of specimen was tested by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), linear polarization resistance measurement (LPR) and potentiodynamic polarization measurement. The surface was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and electron probe X-ray micro analyzer (EPMA). As surface area was increased, corrosion rate was increased by the effect of small anode-large cathode.

  • Microlens arrays are fabricated by melting "islands" of thick photoresist on a glass substrate. Microlenses with diameters $25\mu\textrm{m}$, $50\mu\textrm{m}$, $100\mu\textrm{m}$are made. Their surface profiles are obtained by a scanning electron microscope and a mechanical surface profilometer. The wavefront of the microlenses is measured by phase-shifting techniques using a Mach-Zehnder-like configuration. Thereby wavefront errors, focal lengths. point spread functions are obtained. The microlens with the diameter of $100\mu\textrm{m}$ has focal length of $164\mu\textrm{m}$ and spot diameter is less than $5\mu\textrm{m}$..

액체 속에서의 고전압 펄스 플라즈마 발생 및 분광학적 플라즈마 특성연구

  • 고전압 펄스 플라즈마를 액체 속에서 발생시켜 수소 스펙트럼의 광학적 특성을 연구하였다. 고전압 펄스 발생 장치인 막스 제네레이터는 용량이 $0.5{\mu}F$인 축전기 5개로 이루어져 있다. 각각의 축전기는 전원 장치를 이용하여 저항을 통해 병렬로 충전되며, 방전 시에는 불꽃 방전 스위치에 의해 동시에 직렬로 연결되어 고전압을 발생시킨다. 따라서, 출력 전압과 전류는 40kV, 3 kA이며 총 에너지는 약 125 J이다. 직육면체 모양의 폴리카보네이트 용기 내부의 양쪽면에는 탐침 모양의 전극이 구성되어 있으며 전극 사이에서 고전압을 가진 플라즈마가 형성된다. 실험에서 액체로는 증류수를 사용하였다. 액체 방전 시 발생하는 수소 스펙트럼을 관측하기 위해 초점거리 30 cm의 monochromator를 이용하였고, 수소 알파선의 656.3 nm와 수소 베타선의 434.1 nm를 관측하였다. 전자 밀도의 측정법으로는 Stark broadening법을 이용하여 측정하였으며, 전자 온도는 Stark profile의 상대적인 전자 밀도의 비를 이용하여 계산하였다. 전자밀도는 실험조건에서 약 $3{\times}10^{15}cm^{-3}$, 전자온도는 약 2.5 eV가 측정되었다.

Change in Periodontal Status by Professional Toothbrushing, and Patients' Satisfaction (전문가잇솔질에 의한 치주상태 변화와 환자만족도)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the toothpick method, one of professional toothbrushing methods, on the prevention of periodontal diseases and the satisfaction level of patients with that. The subjects in this study were 33 patients who included 16 men and 17 women. After the toothpick method was applied to the selected patients from January 9 to February 28, 2008, the collected data were analyzed with SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) 12.0 program. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the patients investigated showed a 0.71 reduction in PI than in the past. The index of bleeding upon probing stood at 5.12, which dropped from 8.09 in the beginning. Second, the patients gave a mean of 4.20 to the professional toothbrushing out of possible five points, which showed that they expressed satisfaction with that. Third, as for the relationship between general characteristics and satisfaction level, the women were more satisfied with that ($4.25{\pm}0.33$). By age group, those who were in their 60s and up found that more satisfactory ($4.31{\pm}0.30$). Fourth, as to changes in oral symptoms by gender, the largest number of the men and women considered their gums to become healthier after the professional toothbrushing was applied. The above-mentioned findings suggested that dental institutions should be equipped with well-educated oral health care personnels who are responsible for the periodontal health of patients, and the development of oral health promotion programs is urgently required as well.

Bronchoscopic Electrocautery with Electroprobe and Diathermic Snare in Patients with Malignant Airway Obstruction (중심성 폐암환자에서 악성 기도폐쇄에서 전기 탐침과 투열올가미를 사용한 전기 소작술의 효과)

  • Background : Endobronchial tumors cause life-threatening dyspnea and can lower the quality of life due to central airway obstruction. In those cases with an intraluminal tumor, various bronchoscopic techniques are available for tumor debulking. The therapeutic effect of bronchoscopic electrocautery for palliation in patients with a symptomatic tumor obstruction was studied. Method : Nineteen patients with bronchogenic carcinomas (n=15) and metastatic tumors affecting the bronchi (n=4), between March 2002 and March 2005, were enrolled in this study. Electrocautery was performed under local anesthesia using an electroprobe and diathermic snare. Using flexible bronchoscopy, a follow-up bronchoscopic examination was performed 3-4 days later. Symptom improvement was evaluated by $FEV_1$, FVC and dyspnea score (Modified Borg Category Scale (0~10)), both before and after the electrocautery. Results : The success rate of electrocautery on the follow up examination was 84%. Patients with endoluminal airway lesions had a mean overall decrease in the size of the obstruction to $47.8{\pm}15.7%$. The mean Improvement in the dyspnea score immediately after the endobronchial tumor debulking was $2.78{\pm}1.42$. The average improvements in the $FEV_1$ and FVC after electrocautery were $0.32{\pm}0.19L$ and $0.5{\pm}0.22L$, respectively. There were 2 cases of complications related with electrocautery (one each of pneumothorax and pneumonia). Conclusion : Electrocautery using an electroprobe and diathermic snare was an effective and safe palliative treatment for a symptomatic endoluminal airway obstruction in lung cancer.

Fabrication and Properties of Au fine Particles Doped ZrO2 Thin Films by the Sol-gel Method (졸-겔법에 의한 Au 미립자 분산 ZrO2 박막의 제조와 특성)

  • Nanocomposite of Au doped ZrO$_2$ films was prepared, which could be used as non-linear optic materials, selective absorption and transmission films. After heat treatment of prepared thin film by dip-coating method, the characteristics were investigated by X-ray diffraction, UV-VIS Spectrometer, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Film thickness was about 150 nm, the Au particle size was 15~35 nm. The thin film had a smooth surface roughness about 1.06 nm. Nonlinearity optics was found that films showed absorption peak at 600~650 nm visible region by plasma resonance of Au metal particles.

Crystal Chemistry and Fine-scale Paragenesis of Chuncheon Nephrite (춘천 연옥의 결정화학과 미시적 공생관계에 관한 연구)

  • 춘천 연옥은 색깔에 따라 세가지 유형 (연녹색, 암녹색, 및 회색 연옥)으로 구분되고 이들은 각기 서로 다른 조직과 조성을 나타낸다. 연녹색 연옥이 이중에서 가장 일반적인 유형이다. 연옥은 주로 극미립의 연옥질 투각섬석으로 구성되고 여기에 미량의 휘석, Mg-녹니석 및 방해석이 불순물로서 수반된다. 연옥질 투각섬석 결정들은 그 폭이 5$\mu\textrm{m}$ 이하의 극미립질 침상 결정형을 이루며 서로 치밀하게 얽혀있는 연옥 특유의 조직을 나타낸다. 주사전자현미경 하에서 (110)의 벽개면의 발달이 현저하고, 주사탐침현미경 하에서는 벽개면을 가로지르는 방향으로 특징적인 조선이 나타나는 것이 특징이다. 연옥질 투각섬석은 투과전자현미경 하에서 흔히 단쇄형과 복쇄형이 결합한 3중쇄형 격자가 복쇄형의 투각섬석 구조 내에서 불규칙적으로 협재되는 혼성격자 구조가 발달하는 것이 특징이다. 드물지만 5중쇄형 격자와 4중쇄형 격자도 관찰되는데, 이 같은 불규칙한 격자 혼재상은 회색 연옥에서 보다 현저한 경향을 보인다. 이와 같은 혼성격자 구조형의 존재는 춘천 연옥이 열역학적으로 비평형 상태에서 형성되었음을 시사하는 것으로 여겨진다. 리트벨트법에 의한 구조검증을 통해서 구해진 연옥질 투각섬석들의 격자상수 값들은 X-선회절의 경우, a=9.837(1)~9.9804(4)$\AA$, b=18.046(2)~18.062(1)$\AA$. c=5.2765(7)~5.2803(3)$\AA$, $\beta$=104.717(9)~104.786(3)$^{\circ}$로 계산되었다. 이에 비해서 중성자 회절법에 의해서 측정되 격자 상수 값은 a=9.8841(6)~9.8933(7)$\AA$, b=18.1429(7)~18.161(2)$\AA$, c=5.3024(3)~5.3060(7)$\AA$, $\beta$=104.698(7)~104.771(4)$^{\circ}$로서 X-선회절에 의한 값들과 약간의 차이를 보인다. 연옥질 투각섬석은 Ca에 대한 Mg의 치환에 의해 M(4) 자라의 크기가 작아지면서 b축의 단위포도 함께 줄어드는 결정화학적 특징을 나타낸다. 이는 중성자 회절분석에 의해서 구해진 M(4)의 자리점유율과 M(4)-O의 원자간 거리에 의해서도 확인된다. 그러나 연옥질 투각섬석에 대한 리트벨트법에 구조검증 결과는 연옥의 유형별 미시적 광물상과 혼성격자 구조형의 특징에 별다른 연계성이 없는 것으로 나타났다.

Effect of the particle size on the electrical contact in selective electro-deposition of copper (구리의 선택적 전착에서 결정 입자의 크기가 전기적 접촉성에 미치는 영향)

  • With the advent of ULSI, many problems in previous metallization techniques and interconnection materials have become more serious. In this work, selective deposition of copper to fill the submicron contact has been tried. After forming electro-deposited copper films on p-type (100) silicon wafer using 0.75M $CuSO_4{\cdot}$5H_2O$ as an electrolyte, the effect of deposition time, current density and concentration of an additive on film properties were investigated. Film thickness, particle size and resistivity were analyzed by Alpha Step, SEM and 4 - point probe measurement respectively. The deposition rate was about $0.5-0.6\mu\textrm{m}$/min at $2A/dm^2$ and the particle size increased with increasing current density. The resistivities of electro-deposited copper films were about $3-6{\mu}{\Omega}{\cdot}$cm for the particle size above $4000{\AA}$. By the addition of 0.2 g/l gelatin, the particle size was reduced to less than $0.1{\mu}m $ and selective plugging of copper on submicron contacts could be successfully achieved.

그래핀 투명전도막의 전기적 특성에 미치는 Strain 영향

  • 그래핀은 탄소원자로 구성된 원자단위 두께의 매우 얇은 2차원의 나노재료로서 높은 투광도 뿐만 아니라 우수한 기계적, 전기적 특성을 지니며 구조적 화학적 으로도 매우 안정한 것으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 그래핀을 얻는 방법에는 물리·화학적 박리법, 탄화규소의 흑연화, 열화학기 상증착법(thermal chemical vapor deposition; TCVD)등 많은 방법들이 존재한다. 이중 TCVD방법이 대면적으로 두께균일도가 높은 그래핀을 얻는데 가장 적합한 방법으로 알려져 있다. 한편 그래핀은 우수한 특성들을 기반으로 센서나 메모리와 같은 기능성 소자로 응용이 가능할 뿐 아니라 투명고분자 기판으로 전사함으로서 유연성 투명전극을 제작 가능하여 기존의 인듐산화물(indium tin oxide; ITO) 투명전극을 대체하여 디스플레이, 터치스크린, 전·자기 차폐재 등의 다양한 분야로의 응용이 가능하다고 예측되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 TCVD법을 이용하여 대면적으로 두께균일도가 높은 그래핀을 합성하여 투명 고분자 기판(polyethylene terephthalate; PET) 위에 전사하여 투명전도막을 제작한 후, 압축변형률(compressive strain)의 변화에 따른 전기적 특성 변화를 측정하였다. 그래핀은 300 nm 두께의 니켈박막이 증착된 산화물 실리콘 기판위에 원료가스로 메탄(CH4)을 사용하여 합성하였다. 합성 결과 단층 그래핀의 면적은 약 80% 이상이었으며, 합성된 그래핀은 분석의 용이함 및 향후 다양한 응용을 위하여 식각공정을 통해 산화막 실리콘 기판과 PET기판으로 전사하였다. PET기판 위로 전사하여 제작한 그래핀 투명전도막의 strain 인가에 따른 전기적 특성을 관찰한 결과, 약 20%의 비교적 높은 strain하에서도 전기적특성이 크게 변화하지 않는 것을 확인하였다. 그래핀의 특성분석을 위해서는 광학현미경, 라만 분광기, 투과전자현미경, 자외 및 가시선 분광광도계, 4탐침측정기 등을 이용하였다.
