Purpose : To investigate academic stress, coping method, and stress symptoms of high school students. Methods : Four hundreds-forty five high school students were studied from 14th July to 21th July, 2006. All subjects were in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade of two high school in Seoul. The academic stress, coping method and stress symptoms were evaluated by questionnaire. Results : Male students showed more academic stress than female students. There was a significant difference in the academic stress according to sex. The 2nd grade students show the highest score of academic stress in the 3 factors(parents, teacher, and friend). Male students used more active coping methods to academic stress than female students. There was a significant difference in the coping methods to academic stress according to sex. There were positive correlations between the academic stress and the stress symptoms. Among the academic stress factors, parents and teacher factor influenced physiologic, psychologic, and behavioral symptom of stress symptoms. The friend factor influenced psychologic and behavioral symptom of stress symptoms. Conclusion : According to the study results, we must provide high school students more effective coping methods to academic stress at school environment.
This study was to identify the factors influencing the person centered care competency in nursing students. Data were conducted on 294 nursing students from September 1st to 25th 2019. The mean score of critical thinking disposition was 3.72, the interpersonal relationship was 3.90 and person centered care competency was 4.01. Nursing students with high degree of major satisfaction had higher level of critical thinking disposition, the interpersonal relationship and person centered care competency than students with low degree. Significant factors influencing person centered care competency were critical thinking disposition, the interpersonal relationship and grade which explained 33%. The programs that develop critical thinking disposition and interpersonal relationship are necessary for college nursing students in order to promote person centered care competency.

The purpose of this study was investigated to provide basic data for the introduction of nursing intervention necessary for the stress prevention and management by examining stress, mental health and physical symptoms. Subjects for the study were conveniently selected among boys and girls middle schools located in T city of Gangwon-do. A total of 171 students were selected including 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade. Data were analyzed by using statistical program SPSS(pc win ver. 17.0). The results of this study as follows; There were significant correlation between stress and mental health, stress and physical symptoms, mental health and pysical symptoms. The stress of middle-school students largely came from academic problems in school life, which is considered to reflect the reality of Korean middle-school students who have the burden of entrance examination for universities. Also, significant correlations among stress, mental health, and physical symptoms suggested that continuous observation and assessment are required for the stress management of middle-school students.

This study was to investigate the knowledge of cancer pain management and hospice awareness of nursing students in cancer ward. A total of 237 nursing students working at the cancer ward in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province from December 1st to 14th, 2012. The survey instrument used the 45-item scale for evaluating nursing students about knowledge of pain management and 23-item scale for evaluating hospice awareness. Data was statistically analyzed by SPSS Win 17.0 program, with descriptive analysis, t-test, pearson's correlation coefficient and ANOVA. The knowledge of pain management and hospice awareness showed statistically significant difference in the grade, religion, practice period of subjects. There was a significant difference between knowledge of pain management and hospice awareness. In order to understand cancer patient's pain, is required hospice education for forming a consensus. in addition, There is a need to increase the duration of the practice in order to have enough experience. that way, it is necessary to seek for expanding and promoting ways in order to hospice awareness.
This study tried to find out the degree of emotional intelligence and moral sensitivity of nursing students and their effect on caring efficacy. Data collection was conducted online from January 14 to 23, 2021 for 143 students from 1st to 4th grade at 3 nursing colleges located in one province. For data analysis, using SPSS/WIN 23.0, descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA and Duncan test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression were used. As a result of the study, emotional intelligence was confirmed as an influencing factor of caring efficacy, specifically emotional utilization (p=.005), emotional regulation (p=.027), and emotional recognition of others (p=.037), and the explanatory power was 26.2%. Therefore, in order to increase the nursing students' sense of caring efficacy, it is necessary to develop nursing education and content development that can improve individual emotional intelligence of nursing students.
The purpose of this study was undertaken to determine the health interests by middle school students in Soo-Dong Myun. It was planned that this data would help nursing help students who is under the community health nursing pratice in Soo-Dong, and development of health education programmes. The instrument used which was orginially the Health Interest Inventory by Ramsdell, was modified. This study involed 358 students ranging from 1 st year to 3 rd year and was carried out from September 1 to 30, 1979. The results obtained as follows ; 1. The purpose of this study is to investigate the stress and coping level as a result of dysmenorrhea which was experienced by girls. For the collection of data, the girls from the 1st to the 3rd grade in middle school in Seoul were selected through a random sampling technique. The survey was conducted from the 1st. to the 14th of June, 1991 by the use of questionnaires made after a pilot study. The final subjects for analysis were restricted to only those who had experienced me~arche, the number of which totaled 1,131. The stress, coping level, and other variables, were tested and analysed by descriptive statistics (eg, frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation), t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficients. The obtained results are summarized as follows. 1. The chronological start for menarche was at a mean age of 13.1 The respondents who had experienced menarche numbered $70.9\%$ of the 1st grades and $96.2\%$ of the 2nd grades in middle school, otherwise the starting age for menarche was in the 4th grade in primary school. 2. Their menstrual cycle and period were longer than adult's one. The number of students studied who had experienced dysmenorrhea during their menstrual cycle were 860, and 650 of those revealed that their mothers or sisters had experienced similar problems. 3. The subjects who were late or head left early rather than being absent from school every menstruation cycle were more stressful. The results are thought to show that the girl's perception of dysmenorrhea seems to be more sensitive than adult's one. 4, A significant negative correlation was found between the perception of menstrual flow and strees level. It means that an increase in the stress of dysmenorrhea was associated with decreased menstrual bleeding. The degree of hypochondrical concern assessed by the girls was significantly correlated to stress and coping level. When the girls perceived high stress as a result of dysmenorrhea, they worried about their physical health more. The above results lead us to the suggestion that the starting point of early education with a school program is appropriate for the 4th grade in primary school. Especially if the girls in middle school should be required to give the information about correct knowledge and sufficient self -care management of menstruation monthly, if this could be implemented the loss in school days among the students due to dysmenorrhea would be minimized with more ease.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of various factors on smartphone addiction according to types of risk groups among middle school students. Methods: Data of 223 students were collected from February 1st to 22nd of 2020. The collected data were analyzed through t-test, χ2 test, correlaton coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. The smartphone addiction scale was used to classify the participants into two groups; 18.8% (n=42) of the total respondents were categorized as the addiction risk group and 81.2% (n=181) were categorized as the general population group. Results: The factors associated with the students in the high risk group were grade (t=3.89, p=.036) and religion (F=3.79, p=.044). In the high risk group, psychological anxiety (β=.39, p=.005) and relapse of internet addiction (β=.38, p=.006) explained 46.0% of smartphone addiction, while in the normal risk group, relapse of internet addiction (β=.42, p<.001), psychological anxiety (β=.22, p=.004), tolerance of internet addiction (β=.17, p=.007), and academic stress (β=.14, p=.027) explained 51.0% of smartphone addiction. Conclusion: In order to prevent smartphone addiction in middle school students, a more specific nursing intervention is needed that can reduce psychological anxiety and relapse of internet addiction. It is clear that urgent measures need to be taken for the highly addicted students such as academic counseling.

This study was aimed at primarily to develop a tool to evaluate sexuality education and secondarily to test effectiveness through application of developed evaluation tools in elementary school. The results from this study were summarized below: 1. On the basis of targeting the lower grades (1st- 3th year) and the higher grades (4th-6th year) elementary school students' sexuality education guidebooks published by Korea Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development, 71 preliminary items targeting the lower grades, 90 preliminary items targeting the higher grades were developed. 2. Through the validity test about the contents of the preliminary items three times, the items were regulated to 65 items targeting the lower grads and 57 items targeting the higher grades. And then, the preliminary items were re-regulated to 40 items separately. Then, pre-test which targeting each 30 students was enforced. 3.Finally, the evaluation tools for sexuality education that consisted of 40 items targeting the lower grades and the higher grades were developed. 4. eliability test of the developed tools, sexuality education evaluation tools showed alpha coefficient of internal consistency were 0.8355 (for the use of the lower grades) and 0.8881 (for the use of the higher grades). 5. o apply the developed sexuality education evaluation tools, 10-times sexuality education were carried out class unit and pre-post test were done using same questionnaire, which contains developed tool, there were significant difference in low grade (t=16.548, p=0.000), high grade (t=14.773, p=0.000). The results of this study suggest that the evaluation tool for sexuality education in elementary school may be a useful tool with a high degree of reliability and validity. In this sense, the evaluation tool for sexuality education developed by this study can be effectively utilized in Korea elementary schools.
The present research set out to further validate the results that Stromborg (1976) obtained in which a correlation (r= .22, p < .001) was found between the femininity of woman nursing students and their image of nursing. In addition the experimenter set out to elucidate any possible differences in the image of nursing according to (a) religion, (b) the motivation for choosing nursing as well as, (c) the particular area in which the students hoped to work after graduating. The research was conducted by presenting questionnaire type scales including a femininity scale and a nursing image scale, to 301 graduating students attending 4 Three-year nursing schools located within Seoul from November 21st, 1978 to November 30th. The results: 1. There was clearly no relation between femininity and the image of nursing as such (r= .01, p > .43). But upon analyzing the results along five subdimensions of the nursing image variable it was discovered that : (a) if femininity is low, the nursing student tend to view the educational preparation for becoming a nurse in a more positive light (r= -.10, p < .05), and (b) if femininity is high, the students tend to perceive their social role with a positive frame of mind (r= .15, p < .005). 2. There was a significant difference found in the image of nursing as related to the religion of the nursing students, The means ranked as follows (high scores indicate a positive image of the nursing profession). Catholic > Protestant > no religion > Buddhist 3, The difference in the nursing image according to motivation for sellecting the profession emerged as quite significant (F=6.92, p < .001). The rank of the means when the subject group is divided along the dimension of motive is as follows (ranking begins with the most positive nursing image): (a) The profession itself seemed good; (b) after marriage one can do a social type of activity; (c) significant others’advice: (d) the profession matches their high school grade record; (e) it matches the economic situation of the student; (f)no particular reason for their choice: (g) it's easy to get a nursing job after graduation. 4. The particular area of nursing one intended to go into after graduation varied significantly in terms of the image of nursing (F=3.03, p < .005).
