A methylotrophic actinomycetes strain MO-16, which produce the antimicrobial compound, was isolated from soil and supposed as Amycolatopsis sp. based on taxonomic studies. The cell-free extract of methanol-grown strain MO-16 showed dehydrogenase activity for methanol and formaldehyde when various electron acceptors were added for oxidation. On the other hand, methanol did not affect the production of antimicrobial compounds, and organic nitrogen sources such as corn steep liquor and peptone were better than inorganic nitrogen sources. These compounds showed broad antimicrobial spectrum to the tested strains such as bacteria and yeast. The antimicrobial comounds were very stable under heat(121$^{\circ}C$), acid(pH2.0), alkali(pH11.0) treatments. These compounds were isolated by ethylacetate extract, silica gel column chromatography and reverse phase HPLC. Two compounds(peak 1 and 2) were detected as antimicrobial compounds through the HPLC analysis. The peak 2 was purified as a single compound and revealed a 98% purity.

With use of a simple, inexpensive and nonpharmacological program for blood conservation, 24 consecutive patients underwent elective or urgent coronary artery bypass grafting without need of homologous red cell transfusions and /or fresh frozen plasma transfusions in 16 patients[66.7%]. Left internal mammary artery graftings were done in 18 patients[75%], with supplemental saphenous vein grafts in all. Intraoperatively, autologous heparinized blood was removed before bypass and retransfused at the conclusion of ext-racorporeal circulation. The volume remaining in the oxygenator and tubing set was returned without cell processing or hemofiltration. Using the hard-shell cardiotomy reservoir from the oxygenator, autotransfusion of the shed mediastinal blood was continued hourly by the next early;norning. The mean postoperative mediastinal blood loss was 364$\pm$234ml, whereas 553$\pm$383ml was autotransfused. 4 patients [16.7%] received homologous blood and an additional 4 patients[16.7%] fresh frozen plasma. Thus, in total, 16 patients[66.7%] were not exposed to any homologous blood products during the hospital stay. At discharge, the mean hemoglobin concentration was 10.3$\pm$1.6g /dl. Postoperative complications were few and there was no hospital death.

The wide spread of multimedia system demands a large viewin gdesply device which can inform a message to many peoples in open area. This paper is about the design, simulating and testing of a large viewing LED pannel control ASIC(application specific integrated circuit). This LED pannel control ASIC runs on 16 bit microprocessor MC68EC000 and has following functions:16 line interlaced LED pannel controller, memory controller, 16 channel priority inerrupt controller, 2 channel direct memory access controller, 2 channel 12 bit clock and timer, 2 channel infrared remocon receiver, 2 channel RS-232C with 16byte FIFO, IBM PC/AT compatible keyboard interface, battery backuped real time clock, ISA bus controller, battery backuped 256 byte SRAM and watech dog timer. The 0.6micron CMOS sea of gate is used to design the ASIC in amount of about 39,000 gates.

Surface modification of tridimensional cubic mesoporous silica, SBA-16, was investigated with pendant arm functionalized cobalt diaminosarcophagine (diAMsar) cage complex which covalently grafted onto the silica surface through the silication with sylanol group. The spectroscopic results showed that the mesoporous structure was preserved under the $[Co(diAMsar)]^{3+}$ grafting reaction condition. Successful grafting prevented the cobalt diAMsar cage from leaching out from the SBA-16 support.

The design and performance of 12GHz low-noise amplifierwith GaAs MESFET and microstrip line are described. It contains DC blocks with symmetric line and chip capacitor, respectively. The low-noise amplifier with chip capacitor and DC block exhibits a 8-11 dB gain over 11.8-12.1 GHz and 16-18dB gain over 12.16-12.19GHz, respectively.

In this study, 3-D underwater object restoration using ultrasonic transducer fabricated with PZT-Polymer 1-3 type composite are presented. Using the acquired underwater object data 16${\times}$16 pixels. Modified SCL neural networks using the 16${\times}$16 low resolution image was used for underwater object restoration of 32${\times}$32 high resolution Image.

An efficient intra mode selection algorithm is proposed to reduce the computational complexity of inter frames for the H.264|AVC video encoding system. We propose an adaptive thresholding algorithm based on distribution characteristics of the sum of the absolute differences (SAD) of the best inter mode. Through comparative analysis, the proposed algorithm shows better speed up ratio with a negligible quality loss.

In this paper, we propose two methods for complexity reduction of intra prediction in H.264/AVC. One is skipping of intra prediction using inter prediction cost at current macroblock in current P picture, average of intra prediction cost in previous I picture, and average of inter prediction cost in previous P picture. The other is skipping of intra 16$\times$16 prediction using intra 4$\times$4 prediction cost and modes. As a result, complexity of intra prediction in P picture and that of intra 16$\times$16 prediction in intra prediction macroblock can be reduced by about 80~99％ and 50~93％, respectively.

In this paper, we have evaluated the performance of an OFDM system using hierarchical 16QAM (OFDM/HL-16QAM) for achieving high quality and high speed data and image transmission in multipath fading channel. The wireless channel for performance evaluation is assumed to include AWGN and two ray multipath fading. Through simulation we have obtained the BER performance of the system according to $E_{b}$, $N_{0}$, then compared the received image quality of proposed system with that of conventional system. From the result, it is shown that the OFDM/HL-16QAM system is more effective for data and image transmission.n.n.

In this study, we have developed the active leakage current detection module based on a MSP430 processor, 16bit signal processor. This module can be operated in a desired trip threshold within 0.03 seconds as specified in KS C 4613. This developed module is expected to be applicable as a module for prevention of electric shock in smart distribution panel of smart grid.
