  • We design a CMOS front-end with wide variable gain and low power consumption for 5.25 GHz band. To obtain wide variable gain range, a p-type metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (PMOS FET) in the low noise amplifier (LNA) section is connected in parallel. For a mixer, single balanced and folded structure is employed for low power consumption. Using this structure, the bias currents of the transconductance and switching stages in the mixer can be separated without using current bleeding path. The proposed front-end has a maximum gain of 33.2 dB with a variable gain range of 17 dB. The noise figure and third-order input intercept point (IIP3) are 4.8 dB and -8.5 dBm, respectively. For this operation, the proposed front-end consumes 7.1 mW at high gain mode, and 2.6 mW at low gain mode. The simulation results are performed using Cadence RF spectre with the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) $0.18\;{\mu}m$ CMOS technology.)

  • Results of an experimental study on the pullout behavior of the headed reinforcement are presented. A total of 48 pullout tests was performed to evaluate pullout strengths and load-displacement behaviors in pullout of the headed bars. The square steel heads had gross area of 4 $A_{b}$ and thickness of $d_{b}$ The test program consisted of three pullout test groups: Simple and Edge pullout tests using plain concrete slabs, comparison of pullout performances between the standard hooks and the headed reinforcement, and pullout tests of headed reinforcement using reinforced concrete columns. Test variables included concrete strengths ( $f_{c}$' = 27.1MPa, 39.1MPa), reinforcing bar diameters (D16~D29), embedment depths (6 $d_{b}$~12 $d_{b}$), edge conditions, column reinforcement, and single-vs.-multiple bar pullout. Test results revealed that the heads effectively provided the pullout resistances of the deformed bars in tension. The load-displacement behaviors were similar between the 90-degree hooks and the headed reinforcement. When a multiple number of headed bars installed with small head-to-head spacings was pulled out, reinforcement designed to run across the concrete failure surface in a direction parallel to the headed bars helped improve the pullout performances of the headed reinforcement.t.ement.t.

Physical Growth and Development. a) Maximum growth was seen during the period from 12 to 16 years of age. b) The Maximum annual growth rates were as follows; Height: Boys-8.1cm from 14 to 15 years of age Girls-4.7cm from 13 to 14 Weight: Boys-8.0kg from 14 to 15 Girls-4.5kg from 13 to 14 Chest Girth: Boys-6.1cm from 14 to 15 Girls-4.2cm from 13 to 14 Sitting Height: Boys-4.6cm from 14 to 15 Girls-2.5cm from 13 to 14 c) The greatest individual differences in growth and development were observed during 12-15 years of age. d) Korean students were shorter than Japanese in 12-16 years of age group but after 17, Korean students become taller than Japanese. e) The standards of growth of rescent urban korean students show much improved than that of 1955. 2. Various Indices about Physical Growth and Development. a) Relative body weight was increased steadily annually and the crossing point of boys and girls appeared at age 11 at which girls surpassed boys and at 14, boys surpassed girls. b) Relative chestgirth showed narrow chest style in boys from 11 to 15 and from 11 to 14 in girls. c) The average relative sitting height was 54.0 in both sexes. d) The $R\ddot{o}hrer$ index was 1.1 in boys and 1.2-1.3 in girls. e) The Kaup index was lower than 2.0 in boys from 11 to 16 and in girls from 11 to 14. It becomes higher than 2.0 after 17 in boys but in girls after 15.

  • We propose an ideal line coding for high speed data communication in visible light communication system. B4-HBT line coding is defined as follow. The 1 bit is +V at first though 1 encodes +Voltage and -Voltage doing change of shift each other, then -V newly. V that is been mutually contradictory for 1 bit that exist before that if continuous 0 bits exist 4 here same and reduces mistake because has reverse mark V in 4 continuous last 0 bits and gives half bit variation in 1 bit and made effect of noise low. 2${\sim}$3 dB profit is seen comparing with line coding that exist in simulation result.

  • A bio-optic survey was made in the Yellow Sea in May, 1998 for OSMI cal/val and application project. Optical measurements were made in nine stations. From these measurements, apparent and inherent optical properties such as $K_d$, R, a, and $b_b$ were estimated. The patterns of reflectance indicated that all three major constituents, namely, chlorophyll-a, suspended sediments, and CDOM were active in determining the optical properties in the Yellow Sea. Their relative contribution was different among the stations. All the stations had high backscattering and their values fell in Case 2 category. Although the total absorption was very high, it could not be explained by the level of CDOM concentration. It is suggested that the suspended sediment might be highly absorptive and further study is needed to investigate the optical properties of the suspended sediments.

  • In this paper, a compact low-loss reflector-type phase shifter with harmonic suppression using meander T-shaped branch-line coupler is suggested. The compact coupler for the phase shifter has a size of $22.2{\times}14.9mm^2$ while a conventional branch coupler has a size of $32.6{\times}27.8mm^2$. The phase shifter shows insertion losses of 0.19-0.28 dB at the center frequency of 2.1 GHz, and a measured maximum phase shift of $137^{\circ}$.

  • We have studied to obtain the slanted finger interdigital(SFIT) type filter was formed on the Langasite substrate and was evaporated two IDT electrode by Aluminum-Copper alloy respectively. We can fabricate that the block weighted type IDT as an input transducer of the filter and the withdrawal weighted type IDT as an output transducer of the filter from the results of our computer-simulation. Also, we have performed to obtain the properly design conditions about phase shift conditions of the SPIT type filter. We have employed that the number of pairs of the input and output IDT are 50 pairs and the thickness and the width of reflectors are $5000\;{\AA}$ and $3.6{\mu}m$ respectively. At the first sample, we have employed that the distance from the hot electrode to the reflectors is $2.4{\mu}m$ distance from the ground electrode to the reflectors is $1.8{\mu}m$ and the distance from the hot electrode to the ground is $1.5{\mu}m$ respectively. At the other sample, we have also employed that the distance from the hot electrode to the reflectors and the distance from the ground electrode to the reflectors are $2.4{\mu}m$. Frequency response of the fabricated SAW filter has the property that the center frequency is about 190MHz and bandwidth at the 3dB is probably 7.3 MHz. And we could obtain that return is less than -20dB, ripple characteristics is probably 3dB and triple transit echo(TTE) is less than -22dB after when we have matched impedance.

  • This paper shows an experimental study of home appliance motor noise, also represents some relations between skew-types and skew-angles. Frequency analysis was made for stator and rotor harmonic fluxes. making use of searching coils. Besides electrical analysis, mechanical noise trans mission analysis are studied to lee how they affected on the noise of the motor. Finally, we proved the noise sources of the motor using sound intensity method.

  • A SiGe HBT MMIC double balaced up-converter has been designed and fabricated for C-band WLAN applications. The up-converter is based on the Gilbert cell mixer with an active baluns for differential inputs of LO and IF signals. The designed up-converter exhibits a conversion gain 12.5dB for a -10 dBm LO power. It also exhibits LO-RF isolation of 19.3dBc, and IF-RF isolation of 23.3 dBc at a 1-dB compression point of -14.2dBm
