A patient diagnosed as cellulitis by bone scan was taken the therapeutic intervention of Oriental medicine for 35 days. Cellulitis is characterized by acute purulence inflammation deeply diffused throughout epidermal connective tissue to subcutaneous adipose tissue. This patient presented a finding of soft tissue radioactive isotope uptake increase on bone scan of both foot and ankle. Cellulitis belongs to the category of ong(癰) in Oriental medicine. During therapeutic intervention, 3 herbal prescriptions were applied. Yeonkyopedok-san was applied for high fever and severe chilling on acute stage. After the application of Yeonkyopedok-san and Sunbangwhalmyong-eum, clinical symptoms improved with changes of CRP($112{\rightarro}12),\;WBC(13{\rightarro}8.8),\;ESR(65{\rightarro}46$). After the application of Chungpesagan-tang, clinical symptoms improved with changes of $CRP(12{\rightarro}3),\;WBC(8.8{\rightarro}5),\;ESR(46{\rightarro}13$).

The auricle is easy to be amputated in the face due to its protruding position. When facial parts are amputated, the mechanism of injury usually involves some form of avulsion, which damages these fragile vessels over a distance and renders them unsuitable for anastomosis. Replantation of the ear remains a challenging problem because of the tiny vessels and the paucity of adequate veins for anastomosis. Reattachment as a composite graft of the total or subtotal amputated ear is unreliable. Microsurgical replantation can be performed in a minority of cases because of technical difficulties and long operation time. In this article, the authors report two case of a successful ear replantation of completely amputated auricle. Only one artery and one vein were anastomosed in first case. In the other case one artery was anastomosed without vein. Instead of venous repair, multiple incision was done with leech application therapy. and the outcome was successful. In spite of the technical difficulties and long operation time, microsurgical replantation of amputated ear is better than other reconstructive method or reattachment without microsurgery.

Purpose: This study was to report the effect of Traditional Korean Medicine to Rheumatoid arthritis after parturition. Methods: A woman who complained of arthralgia, edema, sweating and chilling after parturition was enrolled in this study. We treated her by oriental treatments (herb medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion) to improve her symptoms. We checked her by symptoms and serologic test. Results: After treatments, the clinical symptoms and serologic signs improved. Conclusions: This case study shows that TKM treatment is effective for rheumatoid arthritis after parturition.

A unrecorded species of Trichocladium, Trichocladium griseum, was isolated in 2017 during a survey of fungal diversity in Ulsan province, South Korea. This species was identified based on morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) rDNA and ${\beta}-tubulin$ gene sequences. T. griseum has not yet been reported in South Korea. Thus, we report for the first time a new record of Trichocladium griseum in Korea, and we include the descriptions and morphological illustrations of this fungus.

Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE) is a rare, progressive, and fatal central nervous system disorder resulting from persistent measles virus infection. Long-term data are scarce, with a maximum follow-up period of 10 years. Interferon-alpha ($IFN-{\alpha}$) is a protein that exerts its antiviral activity via enhancement of cellular immune response and is reported to be an effective drug for the treatment of SSPE. However, there is currently no consensus regarding the optimal duration of $IFN-{\alpha}$ therapy. Here, we present a case report of a patient with SSPE treated with long-term intraventricular $IFN-{\alpha}$ therapy, which facilitated clinical improvement and neurological stabilization without causing serious adverse effects. To the best of our knowledge, this is one of the longest follow-up studies investigating a patient with SSPE receiving intraventricular $IFN-{\alpha}$ treatment. Further studies are necessary to validate the benefits and safety of long-term intraventricular $IFN-{\alpha}$ treatment in patients with SSPE.

Objectives The purpose of this case study was to report that cold hypersensitivity caused by hypothyroidism was alleviated by diagnosing and treating as Greater Yang Disease Reverting Yin Pattern. Methods The patient was administered Insamosuyu-tang and Sammisamyu-tang and treated with acupuncture. Global Assessment Scale (GAS) and Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) was used to assess the improvements of symptoms. Results and Conclusions Cold hypersensitivity of hands and feet was improved to GAS 20, and hours of sleep were increased from one to six. On DITI, the increase of the temperature were 1-3 degree celsius on the chest and the abdomen, 0.2-1 degree on the forearms and the hands, 1-2 degree on the thighs, and 0.2-0.5 degree on the shins and the feet.

The aim of this study was to report on the resorption of herniated nucleus pulposus following acupotomy treatment. Two patients were treated with acupotomy which included integrative Korean Medicine treatment, for either cervical, or lumbar herniated nucleus pulposus. Magnetic Resonance Imaging was used to produce images before and after (several months) treatment. The Numerical Rating Scale scores and Range of Motion were used to assess the patients at admission and discharge. In both cases, substantial resorption of the respective herniated disc was observed in the magnetic resonance images, with a decrease in the Numerical Rating Scale score. Range of Motion improved in 1 case. This study shows that acupotomy treatment may be a clinically effective treatment for herniated nucleus pulposus resorption and pain relief.

We report highly efficient quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) with TiO₂ nanoparticles (NPs) as an alternative electron transport layer (ETL) and poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) as an insulating layer. TiO₂ NPs were applied as ETLs of inverted structured QLEDs and the effect of the addition of PMMA between ETL and emission layer (EML) on device characteristics was studied in detail. A thin PMMA layer supported to make the charge balance in the EML of QLEDs due to its insulating property, which limits electron injection effectively. Green QLEDs with a PMMA layer produced the maximum luminance of 112,488 cd/m² and a current efficiency of 25.92 cd/A. We expect the extended application of TiO₂ NPs as the electron transport layer in inverted structured QLEDs device in the near future.

To develop the tourism industry, which is a 'no smoking environment-friendly green industry' and can contribute to creating jobs, it is the goal of top priority to resolve foreign tourists' discomfort and fear by allowing them to look around the country satisfactorily without fear and return to their home and inducing them to naturally promote tourism in South Korea to people around them. No matter how great tourist attractions a country has, there is not many foreign tourists who will go on a tour trembling with fear of crimes such as thefts, frauds, threats and blackmail. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare the conditions of tourism free from various illegal acts and inconveniences for domestic and foreign tourists, and for this, it is urgently necessary to make efforts to improve laws and institutions. Domestic tourists can report their complaints themselves through the Tourist Complaint Center of Korea Tourist Service, Inc. or Korea Consumer Agency, or to the police through the 112 Crime Report. In contrast, there are a lot of cases in which foreign tourists cannot receive compensation as it is not easy for them to report due to the differences in language, culture and the criminal justice system though they have suffered illegal acts or inconveniences. This, consequently, has an adverse effect that would disturb the tourism in South Korea as the tourists may spread its bad images to people around them after they return to their home countries with discomfort, so it is urgently necessary to establish a foreign tourist-centered tourist police system.

Purpose: In this study, we analyzed refractive power of school children in low income family. Methods: We have done a comparative analysis with 112 subjects of low-income of 17 elementary schools in the Yeongcheon area and low-income children less than -6 D of refractive errors from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey Report 2010. Results: Spherical equivalent (SE) with low-income group of nation was -1.99 D for right eye and -1.81 D for left eye, while high income group of nation showed -1.26 D and -1.21 D for right eye and left eye respectively. The SE with low income group in Yeongcheon area was -1.85 D for right eye and -1.81 D for left eye. The SE with orphan was -2.75 D and -2.42 D. Single parent family was -2.10 D and -1.96 D, and two parent family was -1.75 D and -1.73. Conclusions: The lack of attention to children eye care may be one of cause for myopia, so the role of the parents and teacher is very important. However, limited role of parents to children due to low income, it is necessary to provide an institutional strategy and social interest to prevent children vision' in low income family.
