The optical wide-field patrol network (OWL-Net) is a Korean optical surveillance system that tracks and monitors domestic satellites. In this study, a batch least squares algorithm was developed for optical measurements and verified by Monte Carlo simulation and covariance analysis. Potential error sources of OWL-Net, such as noise, bias, and clock errors, were analyzed. There is a linear relation between the estimation accuracy and the noise level, and the accuracy significantly depends on the declination bias. In addition, the time-tagging error significantly degrades the observation accuracy, while the time-synchronization offset corresponds to the orbital motion. The Cartesian state vector and measurement bias were determined using the OWL-Net tracking data of the KOMPSAT-1 and Cryosat-2 satellites. The comparison with known orbital information based on two-line elements (TLE) and the consolidated prediction format (CPF) shows that the orbit determination accuracy is similar to that of TLE. Furthermore, the precision and accuracy of OWL-Net observation data were determined to be tens of arcsec and sub-degree level, respectively.
In this paper, net-shape forming of an automobile gear is investigated. Barrel, a component of automobile start motor, is adopted as a net-shape forming. In order to accomplish the goal of net-shape forming without cutting of tooth and cam after forming, forming ability is raised through billet treatment and die design. As a technique of billet treatment spheroidizing annealing of billet to get low hardness and molybdenum disulphide coating to get low contact friction between billet and die is carried out. One of critical points of die design, fillet radii variation of tooth of die is applied to get smooth surface of barrel after cold forging. As a measurement of tooth accuracy, distance between two pins and lead-tooth alignments are investigated. Cam profile accuracy is checked with a 3D measuring instrument. Results obtained from the tests revealed reasonable result with respect to design goal. By these results, the paper shows that reasonable results can be obtained by billet treatment and die design for net-shape forming.
The objective of this study was to investigate the mechanical characteristics of fiber-reinforced lightweight soil using waste fishing net or monofilament for recycling both dredged soils and bottom ash. Reinforced lightweight soil consists of dredged soil, cement, air foam, and bottom ash. Waste fishing net or monoiament was added the mixture in order to increase the shear strength of the lightweight soil. Test specimens were fabricated with various mixing conditions, including waste fishing net content and monofilament content. Several series of unconfined compression tests and direct shear tests were carried out. From the experimental results, it was found that the unconfined compressive strength, as well as the stress-strain behavior of reinforced lightweight soil was strongly influenced by mixing conditions. In this study, the maximum increase in shear strength was obtained with either a 0.5% content of monofilament or 0.25% waste fishing net. The unconfined compressive strength of reinforced lightweight soil with monofilament was greater than that of reinforced lightweight soil with waste fishing net.

Recently, location-based service (LBS) is a hot issue in the field of computer applications. So many papers introducing new techniques of implementing a LBS and new application fields of LBS have been published recently. However, to the best of our knowledge, none of them discusses feasibility test in the prior to the implementation. The importance of a feasibility test for a design prior to the implementation cannot be overemphasized. This paper presents a method of feasibility test for a LBS design. Our method performs three steps. At the first step, we build a Petri net model of the LBS system which is depicted in natural language. The second step is to analyse the Petri net to find errors and flaws in the design. We also improve the Petri net model by fixing the errors and flaws in this step. A feasibility test is the third and final step. In this step. we verify if the design satisfies the user's requirement in the senses of quality of service (QoS) and of minimizing the implementation cost. The third step is performed in the manner of mathematical analysis of the Petri net.
PDT-SSS(Phonetic Decision Tree-based Successive State Splitting)
Pacific herring Clupea pallasii eggs were attached to the gill net in Korean coastal waters off Busan. To conservation and management the eggs attached to the gill net, we followed the natural hatching in coastal waters from five days after fertilization to the hatching finished, where the temperature was $9^{\circ}C$. The diameter of fertilized eggs was 1.24-1.55 mm (n= 50), and had a segmented pale yellow yolk, no oil globule. Natural hatching had started by 10 days after fertilization. Mass hatching occurred around 11-12 days after fertilization, most of eggs separated from the gill net. Therefore, when the Pacific herring eggs attached in gill net, should be natural hatching-induced in coastal waters during 12-14 days.
This paper investigates strength characteristics and stress-strain behaviors of unreinforced and reinforced lightweight soils. Lightweight soil, composed of dredged soil, cement, and air-foam, was reinforced by a waste fishing net, in order to increase its compressive strength. Test specimens were fabricated by various mixing conditions, such as cement content, initial water content, air content, and waste fishing net; then, unconfined compression tests were carried out on these specimens. From the test results, it was shown that reinforced lightweight soil had different behavior after failure, even though it had similar behavior as unreinforced lightweight soil before failure. The test results also showed that stress became constant after peak strength in reinforced lightweight soil, while the stress decreased continuously in unreinforced lightweight soil. It was observed that the strength was increased due to reinforcing effect by the waste fishing net for most cases, except high water content greater than $218\%$. In the case of high water content, a reinforcing effect is negligible, due to slip between waste fishing net and soil particles. In reinforced lightweight soil, secant modulus (E50) was increased, due to the inclusion of waste fishing net.
Model experiments for a purse seine were carried out in order to measure the geometry of net shape and to estimate an enclosed volume by using 1177 scale model purse seine of 12.62m float line from an offshore mackerel purse seine. A model purse seine was set from a net box of shooting equipments and then pursing and hauling net by hauling equipment. The 3- D geometry shape of the purse seine net during hauling operation was measured by video image processing and tension of purse line by load cell. The 3-D geometry of the model purse seine during hauling operation could be represented with variables such as a ratio of shooting diameter or maximum net depth and a ratio of hauling operation time. Horizontal shapes of float line and lead line were varied from a circle after shooting to an ellipse with pursing and hauling. Projected lateral shape of purse line was observed and formulated as a shape of a water drop. The cross sectional shapes of curved net from two directions were varied such as sine function or polynomial curves. Therefore, enclosed volume of a purse seine in relation to fish school behaviour can be approximated using two main variables from relevant equations.
In order to estimate the effective horse power(EHP) in towing net of a bottom trawl ship, the ship's resistance was calculated by using a series data of Yamagata and Wigley formula. Also the effective horse power for a ship(EHPs) was estimated versus the ship speed in sailing and the propulsive efficiency was calculated with the brake horse power and the effective horse power. Then the effective horse power for a ship and a trawl net were estimated in the application of the propulsive efficiency in towing net. The total effective horse power($EHP_T$) was average 187.6kW and the effective horse power for a 1.awl net($EHP_n$) was average 176.7kW at a smooth sea state in towing net. The ratio of $EHP_n$ to $EHP_T$ was about 94.0% and the value was higher slightly than was already informed at a smooth sea state. The power for keeping up a townet speed was required more about 20% of a maximum continuous power at a rather rough sea state than a smooth sea state. In the future, if the residual resistance is considered with a sea state, $EHP_n$ will be estimated more correctly Also the data of EHP estimated by this method will be used as the basic data to design a trawl net.
