  • For the practical use of a fuel injection system using solenoid, some mechanical and electrical problems should be explicitly analyzed. In our study, we have investigated these problems experimentally and have improved such that a solenoid driving circuit is liable to establish a fast reponse and a precise control of injection quantity. This proposed fuel injecton system is capable to control equivalence ratio from low level to high level. Therefore, we expect that this proposed system should be applicable to an actual engine.

  • An exhaust brake system is composed of a gate valve, a pneumatic cylinder and an on-off solenoid valve. An on-off solenoid valve which is a key component of the exhaust brake system ought to have characteristics such as high reliability and long life for reducing the foot brake and tires damage, and for driver's fatigue relief of middle/large size vehicles running a long distance. In this paper, an on-off solenoid valve which is used for vehicle brake system was studied. For the performance evaluation of the on-off solenoid, electromagnetic characteristics and dynamic characteristics are analyzed. On the basic study for the performance improvement of exhaust brake system, pneumatic circuit and pneumatic valve of on-off solenoid type were suggested and the performance of pneumatic valve through the test procedure was evaluated.

  • 두 선박이 정면에서 마주치며 선박간 상호 통항하거나 상대선을 추월할 경우 각 선박의 선체형상과 선속에 의한 유체력 상호작용에 따른 선박간 간섭력이 발생한다. 선박간 간섭력의 주요한 평가 요소인 횡력과 회두 모멘트의 측정을 통해 두 선박이 근접하였을 때의 위험도와 충돌을 예측할 수 있다. 선행된 간섭력에 관한 연구는 대부분 경험에 의하거나 이론적인 측면에서 관련 연구가 진행되어왔으며, 학계에서 통상적으로 널리 알려진 뉴턴의 연구(1960)에서는 깊은 수심에서 두 선박을 평행하게 항주시켰을 때 선박간 최대 흡인력은 두 선박이 정횡으로 나란하게 위치되는 지점에서 발생하고, 이때의 간섭력은 선속의 제곱에 비례한다고 추정하였다. 현대의 조선기술이 발전함에 따라 선박의 크기는 점점 대형화되고 선박의 운항 효율성 증진을 위한 다양한 선형이 개발되어 실선에 적용되고 있다. 이런 경향에 따라 과거에 비해 현대 선박 운항환경에서의 선박간 간섭은 선박의 크기 및 선형에 의한 영향이 클 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 선박의 종류별로 대표 선종을 선정하여 두 선박이 정면에서 마주치며 통과하는 운항조건에서의 선속 증가에 따른 선박 상호간 간섭력의 변화를 통상적으로 사용되는 선박조종시뮬레이터를 이용하여 실험 및 분석하여 상관관계를 도출하였다. 선박 유형에 따른 시뮬레이션 실험 결과 최대 횡력은 주로 선미 부근에서 발생하였고 최대 회두모멘트는 선수가 근접할 때 발생하였으며, 선속이 증가할수록 선박 상호간 근접거리가 좁혀졌고 선형별로 각기 다른 선속에서 선미 충돌이 발생하였다. 이 실험연구는 선형에 따른 선박 상호간 근접 시의 횡거리와 통과속력에 대한 기준 설정의 연구 근간을 마련하였고 선박간 교항시 안전운항을 위한 지침이 될 것으로 판단된다.

Unsaturated Permeability Characteristics of Silty Sand on the Nak-dong River (낙동강 실트질 모래에 대한 불포화 투수특성)

  • In this paper, using the principle of Static Measurement Methods suggested by Huang (1998), a new experimental device has been made and used in order to calculate the unsaturated permeability of Nak-dong river sand with silt which is an important basic property in the unsaturated soil. This device was designed to measure changes of the unsaturated permeability according to the increase of matric suction. The value of the unsaturated permeability obtained in testing and that obtained using the empirical permeability functional formula were compared and analyzed. As a result, the value of the unsaturated permeability tends to be decreased according to the increase of relative density, silt content and matric suction. This tendency shows it is very closely related to the change of moisture content and void ratio. The empirical permeability functional formula presented by Frelund & Xing (1995) was regarded as the most appropriate model to represent the unsaturated permeability of Nak-dong River silty sand.

Simulation of Interaction Forces between Two Ships Considering Ship's Dimension (선박의 크기를 고려한 두 선박의 간섭력에 관한 시뮬레이션)

  • This paper analyzed the motion characteristics of two ships according to the ship's dimension using Ship Handling Simulator. When the panamax container ship passes the smaller ship, peak point and patterns of interaction forces for the moored ship are noticeable. Accordingly, special attention should be paid to the movements of moored ship because surge force and yaw moment changes in the opposite direction before and after condition of ship's beam. However, when the container ship passes the larger moored ship in reverse, peak point stood out on the passing ship at the beginning of ship-to-ship interaction and attraction force on the passing ship occurred steadily during 1L(length overall of passing ship) interval at a point of beam. In addition, as the lateral distance between the hull of two ships decreases less than 2B(breadth of passing ship), interaction forces on the passing ship at the beginning are sharply increase.

  • There are many technical problems, which can not be resolved by the concept of saturated soil mechanics. Unsaturated soils show an apparent cohesion due to negative pore pressure and relatively lower permeability due to entrapped air compared to saturated soils. The determination of engineering properties of soils with various moisture content is very important to evaluate shear strength and stability of natural and engineered soils. So various researches should be made on unsaturated soils. Especially, sandy soils are widely distributed near Nakdong river, one of the four rivers where Restoration Projects were carried out. Many structures such as dams, flood control facilities, detention facilities and reservoirs have been built in this area. In this study, unsaturated triaxial compressive tests were conducted on sands or silty sands at Nakdong river in order to provide their fundamental characteristics for design and construction of geotechnical structures. As a result of the tests, the maximum deviator stress increased as the confining stress and matric suction increased. The cohesion increased non-linearly as the matric suction increased, but the angle of internal friction was marginally changed.

Investigation of Cogging Effect in Bisymmetric Dual Iron Core Linear Motor Stage (대칭구조 철심형 리니어모터 이송계에서의 코깅현상에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents bisymmetric dual iron core lineal motor stage for heavy-duty high precision applications such as large area micro-grooving machines or high precision roll die machines. In this stage, two iron core linear motors are installed in laterally symmetric way to cancel out the attractive forces. Main focus was given to analyzing the effect of cogging force and moment for two different layouts, which are symmetric and half-pitch shifted ones. Experimental results showed that the symmetric layout is more adequate for high precision applications because of its clear moment cancellation effect. It was also verified that the effect of the residual cogging moment can be suppressed further by increasing the bearing stiffness. One problem of the symmetric layout is added cogging force which hinders smooth motion, but its effect was relatively small compared with that of moment cancellation.

  • 가동자를 중간에 두고 양측의 고정자에서 발생하는 흡인력을 서로 상쇄시킬 수 있는 기계적 구조인 양측식 리니어 펄스 모터(double side linear pulse motor)는 편측식 리니어 펄스 모터(single side linear pulse motor)에 비해 구동시 지지기구의 부담을 경감시키고, 발생 추력을 증대시킬 수 있다. 이러한 양측식 리니어 펄스 모터는 가동자를 사이에 두고 상부와 하부의 고정자를 각각 교대로 여자시키는 1상 바이폴러 여자방식과 두 고정자를 동시에 여자시키는 2상 바이폴러 여자방식이 가능한데 보다 제어정밀도를 향상시키는 위치제어 시스템을 구성하기 위해서는 두 여자방식에 의한 특성 비교가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 양측식 리니어 펄스 모터의 1상 바이폴러 여자와 2상 바이폴러 여자시, 자로 분포의 특성을 3차원 유한요소법으로 해석하여 그 특성을 비교 검토하였다.

Characteristics of Shear Strength for an Unsaturated Soil with the Matric Suction (흡인력에 따른 불포화토의 전단강도 특성)

  • In order to analyse the strength problems for an unsaturated soil, it is required to examine closely the characteristics of the parameters of shear strength which was changed with the metric suction and void ratio. To this ends, a triaxial compression test was conducted on the three samples-granular soil, cohesive soil and silty soil. The specimen was made by pressing the static pressure on the mold filled soil and was controled the void ratio with the different compaction ratio. And the test was performed by using the modified apparatus of the triaxial compression tester. The range of matric suction was 0-90 kPa.The measured results for the deviator stress and parameters of shear strength were analysed with the void ratio and the compaction ratio, and they were examined closely the characteristics of the strength for an unsaturated soil.

  • 4년마다 개최돼 인쇄 산업의 올림픽이라고 불리는 세계 최대 규모의 인쇄 기술 전시회인 드루파2012가 5월 3일부터 16일까지 독일 뒤셀도르프에서 개최된다. 전 세계 인쇄산업을 선도하는 전문 전시회인 드루파는 인쇄 산업과 기술을 비롯해 관련 산업 및 경제에 막대한 영향을 주는 전 세계 인쇄인들의 축제다. 전 세계 약 140개 국가에서 40만여 명이 드루파2012를 관람하기 위해 뒤셀도르프로 모여들 것으로 보인다. 방문객의 약 60%가 지난 드루파2008과 마찬가지로 독일 외 지역에서 오는 외국 방문객이다. 이는 드루파 전시회의 뛰어난 국제성을 증명하는 수치로 다른 어떤 전시회와도 비교할 수 없는 국제적 흡인력을 보여준다. 또한 40만 명의 방문객 중 약 78%가 각 기업 내 의사 결정권을 가진 주요 인사들이며 드루파 방문객의 98%는 재방문객이다. 이러한 결과는 드루파는 인쇄인들에게 필수 전시회라는 점을 보여준다.
