  • In this study, the domestic and abroad policies and regulations on the gas cooling systems have been analyzed. First, the current policies were investigated in Korea and other countries to stimulate the distribution of the gas cooling systems. The advantage and disadvantage for each policy were evaluated. Finally, several policies were proposed for the effective distribution of the gas cooling systems.

태양열을 이용한 흡수식 냉방시스템의 시뮬레이션과 운전조건의 검토 (Simulation of Solar/Absorption Cooling Hybrid System and Examination of Its Operating Condition)

  • Solar/absorption cooling system was analyzed and its operating condition was examined. For the system, the optimum size of absorption refrigerator and collector area should be determined. As the temperature of water supplied to the generator increases, the collector efficiency decreases whereas the coefficient of performance of absorption refrigerator increases up to a certain point, and vice versa for decreasing of the temperature of water supplied to the generator . Thus if the reeling load is given, the appropriate operating condition can be determined between the two opposing trends by simulation program. As an example of the simulation, the case of Jejudo province was studied. Under the conditions (such as weather data and prices of components, etc.) given en the sample calculation, the result shows that the optimum temperature of water supplied to the generator turned out to be $80.3^{\circ}C$, and still shows a large economical disadvantage in present stage compared to the case of conventional vapor compression cooling/heating combined heat pump system.

  • A cycle analysis was achieved to predict the characteristics by comprehensive modeling and simulation of an air-cooled, double-effect absorption system using a new $H_2O/LiBr+HO(CH_2)_3OH$ solution. The simulation results showed that the new working fluid may provide the crystallization limit 8% higher than the conventional $H_2O/LiBr$ solution. With a crystallization margin of 3wt%(weight%), the optimal solution distribution ratio was found in the range of 36 to 40%. Variation of cooling air Inlet temperature has a sensitive effect on the cooling COP and corrosion problem. The simulation of heat exchangers with UA value revealed that the absorber and the evaporator are relatively important for an air-cooled system compared with the condenser and the low temperature generator. The effect of cooling air flow rate, circulation weak solution flow rate and chilled water inlet temperature were also examined. The new working fluid may provide the COP approximately 5% higher than the conventional $H_2O/LiBr$ solution.

  • Experimental results for performance characteristics of small $NH_3$ absorption chiller/ heater are presented. The apparatus consists of 7RT water-cooled absorption system, solution pump, boiler, cooling tower and peripheral devices. The effect of experimental parameters, such as refrigerant mass flow rate, solution mass flow rate and cooling water temperature have been investigated in view of the system performance. The capacity of each heat exchanger increased as refrigerant mass flow rate increased in cooling mode. Also, a cooling capacity increased as a strong solution mass flow rate increased. The cooling and heating COP show 0.5, 1.5 regardless of refrigerant mass flow rate, respectively. The results focus on the evaluation for performance characteristics of system with respect to variation of refrigerant mass flow rate under standard design conditions.

선박용 흡수식 냉동기의 냉매적용 냉각 시스템 성능 분석 (Performance analysis of a cooling system with refrigerant in a marine absorption refrigerator)

  • 최근 조선사들은 선박이 운항되는 연안 환경의 개선과 보호를 위하여 $CO_2$를 절감할 수 있는 친환경 선박과 함께 선박 운항 중 소비하는 에너지의 절감을 위한 고효율화 선박 개발의 노력도 활발하게 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전기로 구동되는 선박의 증기압축식 냉동기 대신에 선박 엔진 자켓수의 폐열을 이용하여 냉방을 할 수 있는 흡수식 냉동기의 적용 가능성과 냉각시스템에 냉매를 적용하는 시스템의 성능을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 해수와 열교환하여 액화될 수 있는 냉매들 중 R236fa가 가장 적합한 냉매로 분석되었으며, 이를 적용한 흡수식 냉동기의 COP는 0.798로 육상의 냉각탑을 이용한 수랭식보다 15% 그리고 해수 열교환기식 수랭식보다 5% 향상되었다. 냉동능력 1RT를 얻기 위한 LiBr 흡수용액 순환량은 0.013 kg/s로 수랭식 보다 25% 이상 감소하며, 냉각 매체 순환량도 수랭식의 15.7%에 불과한 매우 효과적인 냉동기가 되었다. 해수온도가 $18^{\circ}C$ 이하로 낮으면 발생하게 되는 LiBr의 결정화는 재생기에서 배출되는 엔진 자켓수의 온도를 이용하여 해수 온도를 상승시킴으로써 방지할 수 있다.

  • The hybrid liquid desiccant air conditioning system has been in use for many years, primarily in industrial process applications requiring dehumidification and humidity control. In this study, the hybrid dehumidifier has been designed to study the dehumidification characteristic of the aqueous triethylene glycol (TEG) solution. The experimental results show energy efficient characteristics of hybrid liquid desiccant air conditioning system compared with the refrigeration system in terms of energy use, the difference of pressure loss between hybrid liquid desiccant air conditioning system and refrigeration system. Data obtained are useful for design guidance and performance analysis of the hybrid air conditioning system.

  • Solar energy has been experiencing renewed interest because of the recent economical crisis in Korea. Absorption cooling is one of the promising solar energy utilization technologies. In this study the dynamic performance of a solar driven absorption cooling machine(SDACM) was numerically investigated. The simulated machine is a commercially available water/LiBr single effect absorption chillers driven by hot water from solar collectors. The present study has been directed to investigate the dynamic behavior of a solar cooling system including an absorption chiller, solar collector, a hot water storage tank, fan coil units, and the air-conditioned space. The operation of the system was simulated for 9 hours in varying operation conditions. The variation of temperature and concentration in the system components, and that of heat transfer rates in the system were obtained. It was also found that the room temperature was maintained near the desired value by controlling the mass flow rate of hot water.

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain the dynamic characteristics of an absorption refrigerator powered by solar energy by experiments. Since the absorption refrigerator power by solar energy should have the characteristics which is suitable for the intermittence and rarity of solar energy, not only the characteristics of the steady state operations but also the partial load and the transient operations should be considered. The minimum available temperature of the storage tank should be known, and the absorption refrigerator can be suitably selected for air-conditioning systems. In this study, the experimental data of the transient state for on-off and warming-up operations has been obtained. Also the experiments are performed which test the minimum available temperature of the storage tank. The results show that it takes 1 hour to get to the steady state of the absorption refrigerator, and the minimum available temperature of the storage tank is about $68^{\circ}C$, and show that in the partial load operations the performance of the absorption refrigerator is improved by applying the modified control method to on-off operations.

선형 프레넬 반사판 시스템의 집광 특성에 대한 수치해석 연구 (Numerical Study of Concentration Characteristics of Linear Fresnel Reflector System)

  • 고일사 지역인 사우디아라비아에서 태양열로 구동하는 흡수식 냉동 시스템 개발을 염두에 두고, 본 논문에서는 태양을 추적하는 선형 프레넬 반사판 시스템의 집광 특성을 수치해석 하였다. 몬테카를로 광선추적법을 기반으로 하는 광학 프로그램을 통해 집광 열유속, 집광 효율, 집광 에너지를 일년을 대표하는 춘분, 하지, 추분, 동지 날짜에 계산하였다. 동지를 제외하면, 9 시에서 15 시까지는 집광 성능이 일정한 가운데, 집광 효율도 70% 이상으로 높게 나타났다. 이 시간대에서 흡수기 중심 20% 영역에 모이는 최대 열유속은 하지 때 약 $13.0{\sim}14.6kW/m^2$ 범위에서 변했다. 집광 시스템의 설계 인자 중에서 흡수기 설치 높이, 반사판의 폭, 반사판 사이의 거리가 집광 효율을 조사해 보면, 흡수기 설치 높이는 반사판의 폭에 관계없이 5 m 에서 최적의 성능을 나타냈다. 반사판의 폭이 작을수록 집광 효율이 좋지만, 반사판의 폭은 집광 되는 에너지에 직접적으로 비례하기 때문에 냉동 시스템의 용량에 맞추어 설계가 필요하다. 본 연구는 흡수기의 열전달 해석의 중요한 선행조건이므로 향후에 광학-열전달 연계된 해석을 통해 전체 시스템의 성능을 예측하고 설계하는데 활용할 수 있을 것이다.
