Inelastic Energy Absorption Factor for the Seismic Probabilistic Risk Assessment of NPP Containment Structure (확률론적 지진위험도 분석을 위한 원전 격납건물의 비탄성에너지 흡수계수 평가)

  • In order to assure the safety of NPP structures, margin of safety or conservatism is incorporated in each design step. Seismic risk evaluation of NPP structures is performed based on the realistic capacity and response of structure eliminated the safety margin and conservatism. In this study, the comparative study on the various evaluation methods of the inelastic energy absorption capacity was performed. The inelastic energy absorption capacity due to the nonlinear behavior of structures has significant effect on the results of seismic probabilistic risk assessment. And the comparison study of the HCLPF(high confidence of low probability of failure) values according to the inelastic energy absorption factors was performed. As a conclusion, the inelastic energy absorption factor of NPP containment structure is estimated about 1.5~1.75. It is essential to estimate the nonlinear behavior of structure and its ductility factor correctly for the seismic risk assessment.

Absorption and Strength Properties of Landscape Paving Concrete According to Zeolite Coarse Aggregate Replacement Rate (제올라이트 굵은골재 대체율에 따른 조경포장 콘크리트의 흡수 및 강도 특성)

  • This study assessed the use of zeolite with high absorption performance in landscape paving concrete as a substitute for aggregate. The absorption performance and strength properties of paving concrete were investigated according to the replacement rate of the zeolite coarse aggregate, and the mechanical properties were investigated through strength tests. The absorption rate of the zeolite aggregate was 14%, which is 2.5 times higher than that of general aggregate. When zeolite coarse aggregate is applied to paving concrete, the absorption rate increases according to the replacement rate. The absorption rate was 5.2% at a replacement rate of 50%, which was 42% higher than that of general paving concrete. The compressive strength increased to 20% of the replacement rate and decreased at a higher replacement, but all the strengths in the construction standard code were satisfied. The flexural strength satisfied the code up to a replacement rate of 10%, but the strength decreased with increasing replacement rate, and the splitting tensile strength was greater than that of paving concrete using general aggregate up to a 20% replacement rate. Overall, zeolite coarse aggregate can be applied as a substitute.

  • In the search for broadband damping composites, it is desirable to have polymers with a broad and high loss region, covering the entire temperature and frequency range of interest. Interpenetrating polymer networks, IPN's, are materials composed of two or more crosslinked polymers intimately and irrevocably interwinded. The resulting distribution of microenviron-ments can result in a materials with a high mechanical loss broad end over that of either polymer component alone. In this study, several series of copolymer, crosslinked copolymer and copolymer/copolymer IPN's were synthesized for possible use as broadband damping materials. Then their dynamic tensile properties were measured and compared with the damping properties of sandwich composites. Dynamic mechanical analysis showed that the temperature of loss peak may be varied over a wide temperature range with formulation. The compatibility of IPN`s was depended on the compatibility of A and B polymers as well as crosslink density. The damping factor(tan ${\delta}_c$) of composites became greater when a polymer of approximate storage module(E`) range of 5X10$^7$ to 10$^9$ dyne/cm$^2$ and large tan ${\delta}$ at the same time was used. The damping properities of poly (2-EHA80-co-St20)/poly(2-EHA20-co-St80) IPN`s crosslinked with 3%-DEGDM were relatively better over a broad temperature range.

Experimental Study on the Dependence of Variation in Performance of a High-Temperature Generator on Its Operating Conditions (운전조건 변화가 고온재생기의 성능에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • An absorption chiller-heater using only a natural refrigerant hardly causes any environmental pollution. In an absorption chiller-heater, the performance of its high-temperature generator, which uses exhaust gases, is essential to achieving superior system performance. To investigate the performance of such a high-temperature generator, a laboratory-scale high-temperature generator working with exhaust gases was designed and tested. Changes in the performance of the high-temperature generator as a function of inlet conditions of the absorbing solution, such as air inlet temperature and mass flow, were investigated. It was observed that when the air mass flow rate ratio was increased from 80% to 120%, the heat capacity was increased by 30%, 33%, 34%, and 37%, respectively. Additionally, when the air inlet temperature was elevated from $170^{\circ}C$ to $210^{\circ}C$ for absorption solution concentrations of 56%, 55%, 545, and 53%, the heat capacity increased by 140%, 160%, 220%, and 224%, respectively.

  • This paper addresses recent status and trends of carbon dioxide capture technologies using dry sorbents in the flue gas. The advantages of dry sorbent $CO_2$ capture technology are broader operating temperature range, less energy loss, less waste water, less corrosion problem, and natural properties of solid wastes. Recently, U.S.A. and Korea have been developing processes capturing $CO_2$ from real coal flue gas as well as sorbents improving sorption capacity to decrease total $CO_2$ capture cost. New class of dry sorbents have been developed such as chemisorbents with alkali metals of which material cost is low, amines physically adsorbed on silica supports, amines covalently tethered to the silica support, carbon-supported amines, polymer-supported amines, amine-containing solid organic resins and metal-organic framework. The breakthrough is needed in the materials on dry sorbents to decrease capture cost.

  • 충돌에서의 차체 손상과 충돌 성능 강화를 위하여 최근 크래쉬 영역의 개념이 설계개념에 도입되고 있다. 대표적인 예가 범퍼와 차체사이의 크래쉬 박스로 저속충돌시 충격에너지를 흡수하여 범퍼이후 차체에 에너지를 저감시켜 차량의 안전성 및 수리비 저감 등에 있어서도 매우 효과적인 역할을 하는 부품으로 이에 대한 개발을 위해 많은 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 충돌에너지 흡수성능이 우수한 크래쉬박스에 알루미늄 폼을 적용하였을 때 충돌에너지 흡수 및 거동에 대하여 충돌해석을 수행하였다.

  • 본 연구는 승마용 안전모의 신뢰성 확보를 위해 안전기준을 정립하기 위한 연구이다. 국내 외 레저 스포츠 안전모 관련 안전기준을 비교 분석하여 도출한 주요 시험평가방법을 현재 국내에 유통 중인 중저가 승마용 안전모를 대상으로 성능시험을 하였다. 충격흡수성 시험 시 1축과 3축 가속도 센서를 이용한 시험방법에 대해서 성능평가 데이터를 통해 1축 가속도 센서를 이용한 충격흡수성 시험으로 선정하였다. 유지시스템의 강도시험에서 헤드 폼 서포트 방식과 후크 서포트 방식으로 구분되던 것을 시료에 손상 없이 시험 가능한 헤드 폼 서포트 방식으로 결정하였다. 이와 같이 승마용 안전모의 안전기준을 정립하여 제품의 안전성 및 신뢰성을 확보하고 나아가 "품질경영 및 공산품 안전 관리법"에 규정함으로써 자국민의 안전을 확보하고 중국산 저가 제품에 대한 시장진입장벽을 구축하여 경쟁력 있는 안전모 시장을 구축하기를 기대한다.
