A Study on the Elution Behavior of Pd-Isonitroso ethylacetoacetate imine Chelates by Reversed-phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography (역상 고성능 액체 크로마토 그래피에 의한 Pd(II) - isonitrosoethylacetoacetate imine 유도체 킬레이트의 용리거동에 관한 연구)

  • Liquid Chromatographic behavior of Pd(II) in Isonitosoethylacetoacetate imine IEAA-NR: R=H, CH3, C2H5, n-C3H7, n-C4H9, C6H5-CH2) Chelates were investigated by reversed phase high performance 1iquid chromatography on Micropak MCH-5 Column using Methanol /water as mobile phase. The optimum condition for the separation of Pd-Isonitrosoethylacetoacetate imine chelates were examined with respect to the flow rate, mobile phase strength. It was found that Pd(IEAA-NR)2 chelates were eluted in an acceptable range of the capacity factor value (0 $\leq$ log k' $\leq$ 1), The dependence of the logarithm of capacity factor(k') on the volume fraction of water in mixture with in the binary mobile phase was examined. Also, the dependence of k'on the liquid-liquid extraction distribution constant in methanol-water / n-alkane extraction system was on system was invert tigated for Pd(IEAA-NR)2. Both kinds of dependence are linear, which suggests that the retention of the electroneutral metal chelates be largely due to the solvophobic effect.

Measurement of Velocity-Lag of Suspended-Sediment Particles in Turbulent Open-Channel Flows (난류 중 부유사의 속도 지체 측정)

  • To describe the behavior of suspended-sediment particles in turbulent open-channel flows, the advection-diffusion equation or its simplified form has been used. Though this equation was derived upon several assumptions, only a few studies tried to evaluate the limit of the assumptions. The reason is that it is very difficult to measure turbulence in open-channel flows and to discriminate the velocities of water and sediment particles. The present study aims to measure the velocity profiles of water and sediment particles in open-channel flows by using PTV (Particle Tracking Velocimetry), a kind of PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry). The measured results showed that sediment particles moved slower than water tracers did in the outer region. In the present study, the amount of velocity-lag reached about $5\%$ of the mom flow velocity and the position of the maximum velocity-lag was $g/h\approx0.05\;(g^{+}=30\~50)$ The main cause of the velocity-lag of sediment particles seems that the sediment particles have larger density than water has. On the other hand, in the viscous sublayer, sediment particle has a larger velocity than water tracers. The reason of the inversion of velocity-lag may be due to the no-sleep condition of water at the solid boundaries.

Numerical Experiment for the Estimation of Equivalent Resistance Coefficient for the Simulation of Inundation over Densely Populated Structures (구조물 밀집지역 범람수치모의를 위한 상당저항계수 산정 수치실험)

  • Kwon et al.(2008) carried out a hydraulic experiment in order to evaluate Manning coefficient, which implicates flow resistance due to bottom friction as well as drag caused by the squared piers higher than water depth and arranged with equal intervals, under the flow condition with a constant drag coefficient, $Re>10^4$. And, based on the equation of equilibrium, they proposed a formula for the equivalent resistant coefficient including empirical drag interaction coefficient obtained by using the experimental results. In this study, the hydraulic experiment was simulated using FLOW-3D, a 3-dimensional computational fluid dynamic code. The computations were compared with the experiment results as well as the semi-theoretical formula, and the comparisons show a good agreement. From the agreement, it was confirmed that when flow resistance bodies were higher than water depth, Manning n value increases with 2/3 power of water depth as shown in the theoretical formula and that drag interaction coefficient was dominated by their intervals.

Implications and numerical application of the asymptotical shock wave model (점진적 충격파모형의 함축적 의미와 검산)

  • According to the Lighthill and Whitham's shock wave model, a shock wave exists even in a homogeneous speed condition. They referred this wave as unobservable- analogous to a radio wave that cannot be seen. Recent research has attempted to identify how such a counterintuitive conclusion results from the Lighthill and Whitham's shock wave model, and derive a new asymptotical shock wave model. The asymptotical model showed that the shock wave in a homogenous speed traffic stream is identical to the ambient vehicle speed. Thus, no radio wave-like shock wave exists. However, performance tests of the asymptotical model using numerical values have not yet been performed. We investigated the new asymptotical model by examining the implications of the new model, and tested it using numerical values based on a test scenario. Our investigation showed that the only difference between both models is in the third term of the equations, and that this difference has a crucial role in the model output. Incorporation of model parameter${\alpha}$ is another distinctive feature of the asymptotical model. This parameter makes the asymptotical model more flexible. In addition, due to various choices of ${\alpha}$ values, model calibration to accommodate various traffic flow situations is achievable. In Lighthill and Whitham's model, this is not possible. Our numerical test results showed that the new model yields significantly different outputs: the predicted shock wave speeds of the asymptotical model tend to lean toward the downstream direction in most cases compared to the shock wave speeds of Lighthill and Whitham's model for the same test environment. Statistical tests of significance also indicate that the outputs of the new model are significantly different than the corresponding outputs of Lighthill and Whitham's model.

  • 전 세계적으로 자연 친화, 하천생태계 보전, 친수하천 등을 조성하기 위한 대대적인 하천 정비사업이 활발히 진행 중에 있다. 최근 홍수로 인한 제방 붕괴에 대응하기 위한 제방의 안정화 및 개선을 위한 방법으로 기존의 시멘트와 같은 혼합물질을 사용하지 않고 환경 친화적이고 지속 가능한 대안에 대한 수요가 증가되고 있는 추세이며 현재 노후화 된 불안정 제방에 대한 보강대책을 수립해나가는 과정으로써 친환경 신소재를 활용하여 제방을 보호하는 연구가 수행되고 있다. 제방사면에 적용되는 신소재는 바이오폴리머를 활용한 재료로써 공동연구기관 카이스트에서 개발된 환경 친화적인 물질로 미생물에 의해 유도된 고인장 및 인체 무해성 등의 특성을 갖고 있으며 경제적 타당성인 측면에서 시멘트와 비교 분석 되어야 하고 실제 현장에서의 적용 가능성, 신뢰성 및 내구성 검토 등 성능을 보장하기 위한 지속적인 연구가 필요한 상황이다. 이에 본 안동하천실험센터에서는 중규모 제방을 직접 제작하여 수리모형실험을 통한 친환경 신소재 활용 제방의 안정성 및 성능 평가를 실시하였다. 수리실험 조건은 카이스트에서 제시된 레시피를 기반으로 먼저 분말형태의 바이이폴리머를 물과 희석하여 만들어진 바이오폴리머 용액을 흙과 혼합한 뒤 제방표면에 직접 미장작업을 수행하여 실험조건에 따라 일정한 두께(1cm, 3cm, 5cm)로 피복하였다. 이후 월류 붕괴 실험이 가능한 3 - 5일 정도의 양생기간을 거쳐 실험을 진행하였다. 실험결과는 다수의 고프로(GoPro) 및 비디오 카메라 등 다양한 영상장치를 이용하여 픽셀기반의 영상분석기법을 활용한 시간 흐름에 따른 제방 사면에서의 붕괴규모를 산정하여 신소재의 피복 두께에 따른 제체의 붕괴 거동 및 안정성을 평가하였으며, 또한 제방 파괴부에서의 흐름 상황 및 유속이 붕괴 발달에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위하여 PIV 분석을 실시하였다. 이번 연구의 최종목표는 지속적인 예비실험을 수행하여 월류 및 침투, 파이핑 등 파괴 인자 별 신소재의 성능 개선 및 개발된 새로운 공법에 대한 효과 검토를 통한 최적안을 도출함으로써 향후 실규모 실험실증을 통한 신소재 시공 및 공법에 대한 현장적용 가능성 검증을 거쳐 최종적으로 신소재 제방 공법 설계 기술, 신소재 및 공법 표준안, 제방공법 안정성 평가 가이드라인 등을 제시하고자 하며, 이러한 실험데이터를 축적함으로써 실제 제방 붕괴 시 비상대처계획 수립에 필요한 기초자료로 활용이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

Influence of electrode geometry on electrical resistivity survey: Numerical study (전극의 기하학적 형상이 전기비저항 탐사에 미치는 영향: 수치 해석 연구)

  • Electrical resistivity survey have been widely conducted at diverse scales, from a few centimeters for laboratory tests to kilometers for field tests. It measures electrical resistance through relationship of electric potential difference and current between two electrodes penetrated on the surface of medium, and eventually quantifies electrical resistivity known as inherent properties of the medium. In field or full-scale test, it assumes the electrodes as equivalent half-sphere electrodes that have a same surface area with different electrodes for ease of calculation because the contact area between electrode and medium is small and sufficient distance between two electrodes. However, small-scale laboratory test is significantly affected by the electrode geometries (penetrated depth, height, radius of electrode and distance between electrodes), which change the equipotential surface and electric current flow. Indeed, the electrode geometries may eventually cause a difference of electrical resistivity value. This study reviews the theoretical electrical resistance derived with various electrode geometries (half-sphere, cylinder, cylindrical with half-spherical tip, cylindrical with conical tip) and verifies the developed numerical module by comparing results with the theoretical electrical resistance. The distributions of electrical resistance around electrodes and among electrodes are analyzed. In addition, it is discussed how the electrical characteristic of cylindrical electrode with conical tip widely used in field test has effect on the electric current flow.

Derivation of Roughness Coefficient Relationships Using Field Data in Vegetated Rivers (식생하천의 현장자료를 이용한 조도계수 관계식 유도)

  • Field measurements of resistance to flow are analyzed for 739 rivers vegetated with grass (281 channels), shrubs (150 channels) and trees (308 channels). The measured distribution of Manning roughness coefficients ranges from 0.015~0.250 for grass, 0.016~0.250 for shrubs, 0.018~0.310 for trees. Significant trends are obtained between Darcy-Weisbach (or Manning roughness coefficients) and flow discharge, friction slope, and relative submergence. The regression equations for Darcy-Weisbach and Manning roughness coefficients in vegetated rivers are: $f_{veg}=0.436Q^{-0.363}$, $f_{veg}=3.305S_f^{0.508}$, and $n_{veg}=0.061Q^{-0.124}$, $n_{veg}=0.144S_f^{0.199}$, $V=5.3(h/d_{50})^{1/8.3}{\sqrt{ghS_f}}$, $\sqrt{8/f}(=V/u*)=5.75log(5h/d_{50})$, respectively. These semi-empirical relationships should be useful for hydraulic engineering practice.

  • The terrain features and surface characteristics are the most important elements not only in meteorological modeling but also in air quality modeling. The diurnal evolution of local climate over complex terrain may be significantly controlled by the ground irregularities. Such topographic features can affect a thermally driven flow, either directly by causing changes in the wind direction or indirectly, by inducing significant variations in the ground temperature. Over a complex terrain, these variations are due to the nonuniform distribution of solar radiation, which is highly determined by the ground geometrical characteristics, i.e. slope and orientation. Therefore, the accuracy of prediction of regional scale circulation is strong associated with the accuracy of land-use and topographic information in meso-scale circulation assessment. The objective of this work is a numerical simulation using MM5-A2C model with the detailed topography and land-use information as the surface boundary conditions of the air flow field in mountain regions. Meteorological conditions estimated by MM5-A2C command a great influence on the dispersion of mountain areas with the reasonable feature of topography where there is an important difference in orographic forcing.

Analysis of Shear Flow Dispersion Using Sequential Mixing Model (순차혼합모형에 의한 전단류 분산 해석)

  • 본 연구에서는 1차원 이송-분산 과정을 연구하고 전단류 흐름 및 분산거동에 있어 Taylor 이론의 핵심이라 할 수 있는 '종방향 이송과 횡방향 확산의 균형'을 기본 개념으로 하여, 이송과 확산을 분리하여 이 두 과정이 순차적으로 발생한다는 가정에 의거한 순차혼합모형을 제시하였다. 본 모형에서는 가상의 하천을 여러 개의 행과 종방향 거리를 길이가 일정한 구획으로 나누어 연속적인 분산과정을 이산적인 형태로 나타낼 수 있게 하고, 횡방향 유속분포에 따라 각 행에 각기 다른 유속을 할당한다. 오염물질은 하폭방향 선오염원으로 원점에 순간주입되며, 주어진 혼합시간 $t_m$ 동안 각 행의 오염물질들이 각자에 할당된 유속을 따라 진행하고 진행이 끝난 후 횡방향 확산이 순간적으로 이루어진다. 횡방향 확산은 횡방향으로 완전하게 일어남을 가정하여, 횡방향 확산이 끝나면 각 열에서의 농도 평균값이 할당된다. 이러한 혼합시간 $t_m$ 동안의 순차적인 이송-확산 과정이 반복되면서 오염물질의 분산이 일어나며, 농도 분포 그래프를 그릴 수 있게 된다. 순차혼합모형을 가상의 직선하천에 적용하여 종분산계수를 유도하였는데, 본 연구에서 유도된 종분산계순식은 Fischer.가 제안한 식과 유사한 형태로 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 본 모형에서 계산된 농도분포 곡선을 해석해와 비교한 결과,두 곡선이 적절히 일치함을 확인할 수 있었으며 해석해와의 비교를 통해 종분산계수 K가 혼합시간 $t_m$과 선형관계임을 확인할 수 있었다. 수심대하폭비에 따라 각기 다른 유속분포에 적용하여 종분산계수 K가 유속편차강도의 제곱에 비례관계에 있음이 밝힐 수 있었다. 수압은 $4.69kg/cm^2$으로 나타났다. 밸브 개폐도가 $100\%$일 때가 밸브를 $60\%$$80\%$ 개폐시켰을 때보다 $0.3kg/cm^2,\;0.29kg/cm^2$ 낮게 나타나 밸브를 전체 개방 했을 때 관로내의 수압이 상수설계기준에 적합한 수압을 유지함을 알 수 있다. 상수관로 설계 기준에서는 관로내 수압을 $1.5\~4.0kg/cm^2$으로 나타내고 있는데 $6kg/cm^2$보다 과수압을 나타내는 경우가 $100\%$로 밸브를 개방하였을 때보다 $60\%,\;80\%$ 개방하였을 때가 더 빈번히 발생하고 있으므로 대상지역의 밸브 개폐는 $100\%$ 개방하는 것이 선계기준에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 밸브 개폐에 따른 수압 변화를 모의한 결과 밸브 개폐도를 적절히 유지하여 필요수량의 확보 및 누수방지대책에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.8R(mm)(r^2=0.84)$로 지수적으로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 유거수량은 토성별로 양토를 1.0으로 기준할 때 사양토가 0.86으로 가장 작았고, 식양토 1.09, 식토 1.15로 평가되어 침투수에 비해 토성별 차이가 크게 나타났다. 이는 토성이 세립질일 수록 유거수의 저항이 작기 때문으로 생각된다. 경사에 따라서는 경사도가 증가할수록 증가하였으며 $10\% 경사일 때를 기준으로 $Ro(mm)=Ro_{10}{\times}0.797{\times}e^{-0.021s(\%)}$

  • The idea of global cities were widespread in the 20th century, but now in the 21st century the paradigm has changed into creative cities. They are trying to develop the creative contents in which economy and culture are connected to promote their global competitiveness. This thesis focuses on the three main points represented in the projects of publishing journals of Namyangju city. Firstly, the project held 'community-based lectures of humanities,' and 'literary contest' to induce participation of the citizens. The results of the events, however, were not successful because of the narrow extent of creative groups of the city and not enough campaign of the city. Secondly, there was the education of citizens to promote their participation, as they are so much the main parts of publishing journals that theory and practice of reporting on their own is essential. Thirdly, the project committee established citizen publishing committee and encouraged them to do their parts at each department. As a result, citizens succeeded in building cultural infrastructure for shaping the creative city and had the initiative to publish journals about masters, masterpieces, and attractions in Namyangju city. The city and the citizens should practice the culture contents projects in both sides' cooperation.
