Objectives The purpose of the case study is to report the effects of stroke in childhood especially for Intracranial Hemorrhage sequela treated by oriental medical treatment. Methods The patient was treated by herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxa, and physical treatments. Results By using of oriental medical treatment, we could see significant improvement for Stroke symptoms. Conclusions This case study shows that oriental medical treatment can be an effective treatment for Stroke in Childhood. However, the further study with longer, and large clinical trials are needed for accuracy.

Objectives : This study aims to report the effect of Korean medicine treatment on Sequela of Bladder Cancer. Methods : The patient was treated with korean medicine of Paljeongsan-gamibang, acupuncture at Qihai (CV6), Guanyuan (CV4), Qugu (CV2), Hyeolhae (SP10), Sameumgyo (SP6) and we evaluated treatment effects by visual analogue scale (VAS) and urine analysis (UA) finding. Results : After treatments, the symptoms such as perineal pain, painful urination, dysuria, anorexia were improved and taking number of narcotic analgesic was reduced. Conclusions : This clinical study suggests that korean medicine treatment shows possibility to care for sequela of bladder cancer patient.

CVA is a kind of cerebrovascular disease which has a few local functional lesions of brain tissue, and it is generally caused by cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, and so on. It is also known as a stroke of paralysis, which leaves a lot of sequelae in a patient such as lesion of movement, perceiving, memory, sense, emotion, etc. A CVA patient which has a sequela, the sense disorder of equilibrium, took the Saam Acupuncture Therapy and Dr. Dong's Acupuncture Therapy, and then he was cured.

1989년 1월부터 1990년 2월까지 2년간 건강진단을 목적으로 본병원의 성인병예방센타를 방문했던 경상남북도 거주자 5,978명중 간흡충증 환자 528명을 대상으로 하여 낙동강유역 거주자와 나머지 지역 거주자의 감염율을 비교하였고, 같은 기간동안 본병원의 외래 또는 입원환자 중 간흡충증으로 진단된 206명의 복부초음파 소견을 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 낙동강유역 거주자의 감염율이 나머지 지역 거주자에서 보다 3.8배 높았으며, 남녀의 비가 2 : 1이었고, 30세에서 59세 사이가 86%를 차지하였다. 2) 간내담관의 미만성 확장 및 여러정도의 간내담관벽의 에코증가와 아울러 담낭내의 떠다니는 뚜렷한 에코소견들이 간흡충증의 특징적 초음파 소견이며, 이중 간내담관의 확장으로 인한 parallel channel sign은 활동성 감염증이거나 또는 후유증일 수 있지만 담낭내에 떠도는 에코소견은 활동성 감염증을 나타내는 소견이다.

Pyogenic arthritis of the shoulder is very rare disease in infant. Early diagnosis and proper treatment are very important prognostic factors. We treated a 10-month-old infant who was suffering pyogenic arthritis of the shoulder by arthroscopic irrigation and synovectomy with direct inspection. Finally, satisfactory result was achieved without any major scar or complications.

Clinical study on one case of climacteric syndrome induced hysterectomy climacteric syndrome is symptoms of physical, mental, physiological in menopausal period. Importance of treatment of climacteric symptoms was on the rise recently. I have treated one patient who has mental depression, anxiety, impatience, impotence, palpitations, facial flushing, abdominal pain in the menopausal period in Dongshin University Oriental Hospital. I took acupunture, moxibustion, cupping, and also I made herbal medicine-gamiguibitang(加味歸脾湯). As a result, I got a good effect through above methods. So I came to write this case report.

Aphasia is frequent in stroke patients and most patients with aphasia exhibit spontaneous progressive improvement in language abilities over time, but few recover completely. Neurological variables, especially initial severity of aphasia and time post-onset, appear to have influence on improvement. Effect of speech therapy and pharmacotherapy has been studied and some drugs, like amphetamine are proved to be benefit for recovery of aphasia following stroke. But there has been few evidence to facilitate recovery from aphasia by acupuncture or herbal medication therapy. So we report two cases of aphasic stroke patients who treated by combination therapy of acupuncture, herbal medication(Cheongsinhaeo-tang) and speech therapy over 6 months and improved in language abilities. Further clinical studies will be needed to explore the effects of acupuncture and herbal medication therapy for aphasia. Researchers should examine the long term effect of these treatment, and whether it is more effective than speech therapy and western pharmacotherapy or not..

Headache is symptom of many people suffered. It caused simply by fatigue, stress, but it also caused by inflammation, mechanical or chemical stimulus, circulation disorder, brain damage. Modern societies develop rapidly by traffic system. But lately it suffering with many traffic problem. Traffic accident is most important of many traffic problem. We experienced a 35 year-old female who complained headache, caused by a traffic accident that happened 22 month ago. We treated the patient by the way of Eo-hyeol (瘀血) type of headache with Herbal medication and Acupuncture. After being treated, the patient show that symptoms(headache, insomnia, anorexia) was improved considerably. This result suggests that oriental medicine treatment has good effect on headache due to traffic accident.

Objectives: This paper aims to report the effects of Korean medical treatment on three patients who underwent thyroid lobectomy for thyroid cancer. Methods: Three patients were hospitalized at hospital to treat pain and general weakness after thyroid lobectomy. The patients took Korean medical treatment including herbal medicine and acupuncture. Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) of symptoms was measured every morning. Results: After the treatment, the pain and general weakness following surgery decreased, and general conditions improved. Conclusions: This cases show that Korean medical treatment is effective for a patients who underwent thyroid lobectomy for thyroid cancer.
