  • Cancer patients can have different kinds of cancer driver genes, and identification of these patient-specific cancer driver genes is an important step in the development of personalized cancer treatment and drug development. Several bioinformatic methods have been proposed for this purpose, but there is room for improvement in terms of accuracy. In this paper, we propose NPD (Network based Patient-specific Driver gene identification) for identifying patient-specific cancer driver genes. NPD consists of three steps, constructing a patient-specific gene network, applying the modified PageRank algorithm to assign scores to genes, and identifying cancer driver genes through a score comparison method. We applied NPD on six cancer types of TCGA data, and found that NPD showed generally higher F1 score compared to existing patient-specific cancer driver gene identification methods.

  • This study proposes new protocol protecting patients' personal record more safely as well as solving medical dispute smoothly by storing the record not into a computer server in hospitals but into the National Health Insurance Corporation computer server. The new protocol for electronic medical record is designed using RSA public key algorithm and DSA digital signature. In addition, electronic medical record systems are built up with more safety and reliability through certificate authority. The proposed medical information systems can strengthen trust between doctors and patients. If medical malpractice occurs, the systems can also provide evidence. Furthermore, the systems can be helpful to reduce medical accidents. The systems could be also utilized efficiently in various applied areas.

  • In telemedicaine, people can make their health checked at anywhere from temporal and spatial constraints and It's environment can provide continuous health information regardless of the location of customers through PCs and smart phones. In addition, personal health information collected utilizing the BYOD(bring your own device) is the most important factor data security and guaranteed personal privacy because it's directly connected to the individual's health and life. In this paper, we provide a signature of the private key encryption system and method for providing the security of personal health information data collected utilizing the BYOD. Against replay attacks and man-in-the-middle attacks on security issues that are emerging as a smart environmental health was used as the timestamp and signature methods. Proposed method provides encryption overhead, while a communication was lower compared to the pre-encrypted with a mean 1.499mJ 1.212mJ shown by simulation to respond quickly in an emergency situation to be about 59%.

  • The advent of personal healthcare record(PHR) technology has been changing the uses as well as the paradigm of internet services, and emphasizing the importance of services being personalization. But the problem of user's privacy infringement and leaking user's sensitive medical information is increasing with the fusion of PHR technology and healthcare. In this paper, we propose a security labeling scheme for privacy protection in PHR system. In the proposed scheme, PHR data can be labeled also manually based on patient's request or the security labelling rules. The proposed scheme can be used to control access, specify protective measures, and determine additional handling restrictions required by a communications security policy.

  • This study intended to identify dental hygienists' knowledge and extent of awareness and performance of patient's personal information protection. In addition, this research was conducted to contribute to medical centers' preparation of measures to strengthen the personal information protection by identifying the factors affecting dental hygienists' extent of performance related to the patient's personal information protection. After explaining the purpose and meaning of the research to the survey participants and gaining their consent, a self-administered survey was conducted from November 7, 2014 to June 30, 2015. The data on 210 dental hygienists in Busan city and Gyeongsangnam-do province was used for analysis. As a result, in dental hygienists with more than 10 years experience, the extent of the performance was significantly high (p<.05). In positions higher than a senior manager, the extent of knowledge was high (p<.01) and the extent of performance was significantly high (p<.05). In hospitals with more than 10 to 20 workers, the extent of awareness was significantly high (p<.05). Regarding the correlation of knowledge and the extent of awareness and performance, a high level of knowledge showed a positive correlation of the extent of awareness and performance (p<.01). As a result of a survey regarding what effects dental hygienists' knowledge and extent of awareness of patient's personal information protection have on dental hygienists' extent of performance, it was found that knowledge (.231) and the extent of awareness (.212) are factors affecting the extent of performance. Therefore, to increase the extent of dental hygienists' performance of patient's personal information protection, there is a need to improve the knowledge of patient's personal information protection and change its awareness. To change the awareness of patient's personal information protection, there is a serious need to carry out education targeting dental hygienists.

  • The issue of PHR is maintained on the server will be in the hospital. PHR information stored on the server, such as a patient's illness and treatment is very sensitive information. Therefore, patients should be guaranteed the protection of privacy. In addition, the PHR should be allowed to group access of it's approach. Therefore, in this paper the proposed group signature using hierarchical identity-based encryption schemes into can guarantee the PHR data privacy. The session key generated by group signature, it is use a tiered approach. The generated session keys safe PHR data transmission is possible. The proposed method is average 80% than the PKI encryption and ID-based encryption rather than average 50% the algorithm processing is more efficient

  • The personal bio-information supplied from the PHD(Personal Health Device) for personal health management is very sensitive in relation to a personal living body in an aspect of privacy protection. On the assumption thai the information is about a patient, it is more serious problem if it is revealed to a third party. However. the established ISO (International Organizations for Standardization) standard protocol[1] in October 2009 has just considered a transmission part for mutual exchange of bio-information between individuals, but has never actually considered security elements. Accordingly, this paper is to show all sorts of security threats according to personal health management in the u-health environment and security requirements newly.
