Evaluation Water Resources according to Construction of Multifunctional Administrative City (행정중심복합도시 건설에 따른 장래 수자원 평가)

  • 정부에서는 수도권 집중 완화와 지역 균형발전의 일환으로 2005년 5월 24일 충남 연기군 남면, 금남면, 동면 및 공주시 장기면 일대 약 $73km^2$에 행정중심복합도시 건설계획을 확정 발표하였다. 이에 따라 신도시 건설이 완료되면 이 지역에 20$\sim$50만명의 인구가 유입될 것으로 전망하고 있다(건설교통부, 2006). 행정중심 복합도시는 금강 유역내 14개 소유역 중 연기군, 공주시 및 청원군이 포함되어 있는 3011 소유역에 해당된다. 신도시 건설에 따른 유입인구 발생으로 인하여 생활용수를 포함한 각종 용수수요도 증가하는 것이 필연적이다. 따라서 금강수계의 KModSim 네트워크를 이용하여 인구가 20만명에서 50만명으로 증가하는 시나리오별로 3011 소유역내 행정중심복합도시 건설 전 후에 대한 용수수급의 변화를 비교 분석하였다. KModSim을 사용하여 2006년 기준수요에 대한 물수지 분석을 수행하였다. 물수지 분석 계산시간 간격은 반순단위로 수행하였으며, '66년 10월$\sim$'03년 9월까지의 기간에 대해 수행하였다. 생활 및 공업용수의 회귀수량은 수요량의 65%가 하류로 회귀되는 것으로 하였으며, 농업용수는 수요량의 65%(순물소모량)을 사용하고 회귀는 없는 것으로 하였다. 각 수요처로부터 하천으로 회귀되는 양은 직 하류에 위치한 소유역으로 유출된다. 각 소유역에서 용수의 취수가용량은 85%로 하였고 나머지는 하류 지점으로 회귀되는 것으로 하였다. 댐 간연계운영 방법은 KModSim에서 제공하는 Reservoir Balancing을 통해 댐 간에 동일비율로 수요를 공급하도록 하였다. 수요처의 우선순위는 상류에서 하류로 증가하도록 하고, 하천유지용수, 생활용수, 공업용수, 농업용수 순으로 부여하였다. 소유역구분은 국가 표준지도인 수자원단위지도를 이용하여 금강권역을 21개 중권역으로 구분하여 물 수급 평가 및 전망을 수행하였다.

  • Recently Standards Developments Organizations (SDO$\_S$) in the field of Information and Communication recognize that "More new and more complex standards should be developed in shorter time". To cope with this challenge they try to construct Standards Information Cooperation Network (SICN) or Electronic Document Handling (EDH) systems for efficient standards development process. This paper presents the design and implementation of an Extranet based Web system dedicated to effective on-line standards making environments. The system, which is called SICN (Standards Information Cooperation Network), is a workflow-based network application created with a view to fostering faster standards development with functionalities such as an electronic signature mechanism, electronic voting, comment gathering and dynamic links for ready retrieval of standards information stored in a database. This paper also describes the concept of a VSDO (Virtual Standards Development Organization) that supports all the features needed by the relevant standards making bodies to carry out their activities in dynamic on-line environments.ironments.

  • This study utilizes the fuzzy logic and genetic algorithm to improve the existing incident detection models by addressing the problems associated with "crisp" thresholds and model transferability (applicability). The model's major components were designed to be a set of the fuzzy inference engines, and for the self-adaptation capability the genetic algorithm was introduced in optimization(or training) of the fuzzy membership functions. This approach is often called "the hybrid of fuzzy-genetic algorithm" The model performance was tested and found to be compatible with that of the existing well-recognized models in terms of performance measures such as detection rate, false alarm rate, and detection time. This study was not an effort for simple improvement of the model performance, but an experimental attempt to incorporate new characteristics essential for the incident detection model to be universally applicable for various roadway and traffic conditions. The study results prove that the initial objective of the study was satisfied, and suggest a direction that the future research work in this area must follow.

Calibration of Parameters in QUAL2E using the Least-squares Method (최소지승법에 의한 QUAL2E 모델 반응계수 보정)

  • Water quality models can be applied to manage the regional water quality problems and to estimate the target and allowable pollution load in watershed effectively. The optimization of state variables in the given water quality model Is necessary to build up more effective model. The least-squares method is applied to fit field observations in QUAL2E developed by U.S. EPA, which is most widely used one in the world to simulate the stream water quality, and the optimization model with constraints is constructed to estimate the parameters. The objective function of the optimization model is solved by Solver in Microsoft Excel and Monte Carlo simulation is conducted to know the influence of parameter in conventional pollutants. It is found that this technique is easily implemented and rapidly convergent computational procedure to calibrate the parameters after appling this approach in Anyang stream located in Kyonggi province mainly.

  • Purpose Obesity goes on increasing rapidly because of the change of dietary life, various stresses and convenience of life, that cause heart disease, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, fatty liver, arteriosclerosis these days. As obesity is disease, I think there will be constitution to easily become obese, so I began to study this. Methods (1) Subjects The subjects of this study were 101 female patients visited Nara oriental medical hospital during 2months from April 1 to May 30 in 1999. (2) I determined finally classification of sasang constitution according to diagnosis and questions made in Nara oriental medical hospital. Results (1) 81.2% of obese patients are Taeumin, 15.8% of those are Soeumin, 3% of those are Soyangin. (2) Soeumin has significant difference that it takes over 30 minutes to have a meal. (3) Significant difference is that Soeumin goes to bed earlier in the evening than Taeumin and Soyangin. (4) From obesity of whole body point of view, Taeumin has more significant and from obesity of abdomen and leg point of view, Soeumin has more significant difference.

  • Artificial neural network has been used for damage assessment by many researchers, but there are still some barriers that must be overcome to improve its accuracy and efficiency. The major problems associated with the conventional artificial neural network, especially the Back Propagation Neural Network(BPNN), are on the need of many training patterns and on the ambiguous relationship between neural network architecture and the convergence of solution. Therefore, the number of hidden layers and nodes in one hidden layer would be determined by trial and error. Also, it takes a lot of time to prepare many training patterns and to determine the optimum architecture of neural network. To overcome these drawbacks, the PNN can be used as a pattern classifier. In this paper, the PNN is used numerically to detect damage in a plate girder railway bridge. Also, the comparison between mode shapes and natural frequencies of the structure is investigated to select the appropriate training pattern for the damage detection in the railway bridge.

  • In many geological investigation, a data sequence may be created which consisted of a succession of mutually exclusive state. However, now our interest lie in the nature of transition from one state to another, rather than in the position of states in the sequence. In this paper, authors studied for the deformation of HAEUNDAE beach by transition matrices and empirical eigenfunction method. In this paper, 5-yr. set of profile data from HAEUNDAE beach measured at several monthly or yearly intervals are analyzed by using the transition matrices and empirical eigen-function. Results of this study indicate that the transition matrices and empirical eigenfunctions are useful in the analysis of beach profile data and provide objective insight in the nature of profile configuration.

  • The storage space requirement is a very important decision variable which determines the storage capacity of a container terminal. Generally, the storage space requirement is dependent upon such factors as ship headway, allowable dwell time of containers, loading/winding time per ship, and so on. Until now, the storage space requirement is estimated under the assumption that the factors are deterministic in several studies. However, this study proposes how to estimate a storage space requirement satisfying the required service level under the assumption that a containership's load size is probabilistic. Numerical experiments, which use a simulation show that the proposed method can estimate more adequately the storage space requirement than other methods under a probabilistic environment.

  • Among clincal isolates, most strains of Serratia marcescens were belonged to nonpigmented form, and several attempts were undertaken for the rapid and simple identification of these strains. Prodigiosin production of non-pigmented strains was uniformly negative in many kinds of solid media as well as in nutrient agar added with various amino acids and thiamine. On blood agar, colonies of S. marcescens turned gradually to grey or dark color by the lapse of incubation period and this characteristic seems to be able to utilize as an indicator for a primary isolation, and also generally paralleled with the results of dehydration of Tween 80 and lipase activity in soy bean oil medium although these reactions were by no means specific to S. marcescens. In order to rule out these non-specific reactions, other tests such as oxidase and sucrose fermentation are required for the final confirmation of this species.

Development of Work Process on Natural Disaster Damage Investigation using Smartphones (스마트폰 기반 자연재난 피해조사 업무 프로세스 개발)

  • Natural disasters are occurring frequently due to typhoon and flood. Especially, damage scales are increasing these days because of climate change. When natural disasters occur, civil engineering officers investigate them for the recovery. If public facilities are damaged, the disaster damage investigation must be finished within 7days. Currently, natural disaster damage investigation is done on two levels, field investigation and data input into NDMS. However, having those two overlapped most of the time, and we must do subsidiary works things to register field investigation data into system. Work efficiency is decreased due to repetition of additional work. So, many civil engineering officers indicated problems such as lack of manpower and time. In this study, We developed work process on natural disaster damage investigation that involves using smart phone to solve problems such as shortage of time and manpower.
